SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

“I want to return under your command… so that I can get protection for those I owe a debt to.” Amaya said, keeping her head lowered. “Whatever the cost, I’ll pay it if it will buy them protection.”

Amaya was rigid, didn’t dare move from her spot or raise her head. She had been a fool to think she could escape Matsunaga- of course he knew of everything. Sasuke was right, she had been feeding information to other doves without even realizing it.

Sasuke’s hurt expression flashed through her mind. “I was done playing house was all.” She said. “I suppose I was just ready to come home.”

Amaya could’ve dropped to her knees right there out of relief, but knew doing such a thing would’ve been heavily looked down on by Matsunaga. “Thank you, Father.” She said, raising her head.

“Yes, sir.” Amaya watched them walk down the hall for a moment before leaving for her old room. Each pair shared a room, and now with Ango dead, she had a room all to herself. She closed the door softly behind her and moved to the desk, pulling her phone out and setting it on the table along with the quinque knife.

Amaya frowned softly before picking up her phone and pulling off the back before removing the battery. She set it back on the desk before moving to the closet; her old clothes still hung there along with her tactical gear. She grabbed the uniform provided by Matsunaga to all of the unit, and changed out of her street wear. She doubted she would be getting off so easily, but knowing Matsunaga he would probably be busy planning her punishment to the letter already. After dressing in her old uniform, she tossed her clothes in the trash, knowing she wouldn’t be likely to get the chance to wear it anytime soon.

The hurt and betrayal in Sasuke’s eyes haunted her, and she could only imagine the same look on Yukimura's face. Hell, even the shock and horror from Akihime filled her with a soft dread. She only hoped they thought she left on her own and Sasuke would keep the truth from them.

Either way, it didn’t matter, Amaya would continue to do what she could for the group, despite her own circumstances or how she had to accomplish it.

Megohime found patrolling often slow and boring, but was glad to have the moments of peace in between chaotic paperwork, and chasing after ghouls.

Kojurou stuck close to her now, not wanting her to be left on her own with her still recovering. Sure, she had been allowed to go back into the field, but she still couldn't do much by herself. It was quiet between them, but there was a sort of tenseness.

Megohime could feel the tension in the air as they walked, feel Kojurou’s gaze keep falling on her even without looking at him. “Is something the matter, Kojurou?” She asked, glancing to him.

Megohime blinked and looked to Kojurou fully. “Not sure how to bring it up?” She echoed. “Just come out with it then.”

“Oh.” Megohime felt her heart grow cold and heavy in her chest. Turning her head away from Kojurou to watch the path ahead of them, it was silent for a while before she answered. “Listen, I’ll sleep with you if that’s what you want, just don’t go spreading it around anymore than it already is.” She said, sounding almost defeated.

Megohime stopped where she was, looking to Kojurou with an equally red face now. “I-It’s not?” She felt like she could simply die in that moment.

Part of Megohime felt guilty for thinking so lowly of Kojurou, and another part of her was so embarrassed she wanted to run screaming. “Yes, of course, I’m sorry you even had to hear such nonsense.”

"I just worry that you might tangle with the wrong person." He told her, "Men are very sensitive and egotistical creatures. You might find yourself with one who won't take no for an answer." She immediately thought to Masamune and how crazed and betrayed he was the last time he was with her.

Megohime cleared her throat, bowing to Kojurou rather stiffly. “Please forgive me for assuming so little of you.” She was admittedly a little surprised he wasn’t asking such a thing of her, but even more so ashamed. Kojurou had been nothing but a good man toward her, and she shouldn’t have let her personal experiences change that opinion of Kojurou. “And please know that.. I will keep my personal life more personal in the future.”
