SAINTS (1x1 w/DarkMukip)

“Is it something serious?” Amaya asked. “Maybe it’s something I can help with?” She was acting the same as always, like the Amaya he knew- but how much did he actually know about her?

He frowned softly and lowered his gaze. With a dove after them now, it just made things harder, "That ghoul that kidnapped you...how did you manage to get the jump on him...? How did you break his neck...?"

The questions looked to shock Amaya, her eyes widening slightly; it felt like minutes had gone by, with the both of them standing there in silence before Amaya spoke. “Because I was trained to.” She said it softly, almost sounding defeated, like she had been caught in a lie.

She looked uncomfortable, unable to look at Sasuke any longer. She was glad that they were the only two in the room, ashamed to even be saying it to Sasuke. “Yeah, trained.” She confirmed. “Among other things, I was trained to kill ghouls.”

“Yeah.” She said, feeling her own discomfort boiling over. “Listen, it wasn’t something I chose to do, it was just something I was born into. I left it before I even met you, and I never had the international to hurt you or anyone else here.” She took a step toward Sasuke, looking to him. “I didn’t mean to hide it, but how was I supposed to bring something like that up?”

He took a step away from her, refusing to look at her, "So this whole time...? You've been a Dove the whole time...? Have you told them anything? Have you rat us out? Or were you waiting for Yukimura to drop his guard? Were you waiting for me to drop mine?"

“Sasuke it isn’t like that at all!” It hurt to see him move away from her, but she didn’t try to move closer. “They don’t know about any of this, they can’t know because I defected- please believe me when I say I haven’t done anything to endanger anyone here!”

"We're already in enough shit thanks to that damned stray dana brought in! And now things are even worse knowing this! Why didn't you just come out about it before?! How can I trust anything you say?!" He snapped.

“Because you know me, Sasuke!” She looked hurt and guilty. “I wouldn’t do anything to risk the family we’ve found..!”

Amaya flinched at his words, shrinking back a little. “So what do you want me to do?” She asked softly. “What do we do now?”

Amaya lowered her gaze again, heart heavy as she nodded. “Ok.” She said softly. She didn’t go back to her room for anything, just headed for the front entrance, changing out her house slippers for her outside shoes before leaving as Sasuke had told her.

He clenched his fists tightly, shaking gently as he fought his tears. He didn't really know what to do and didn't want to alert anyone, so he sank into the tightest corner of his room and held his knees to his chest.

Amaya left as she was told to by Sasuke, hoping that maybe he would cool down and things would work themselves out- but what if they didn’t? What if she was out on her own again like she was all those years again? The thought made tears form in her eyes, but she only kept walking, having no real destination in mind.

She had been walking for a while before she felt someone following behind her. They matched her pace and kept their distance, but they were definitely following her.

Amaya didn’t want to have to deal with any kind of creep at that moment, not in the mood to interact with others. She kept her head down as she walked, keeping herself calm as she led the person down the road toward an area she knew had less foot traffic.

Amaya kept up her silent walk for several more minutes, taking them both to an empty road before stopping, a scowl on her face. “What do you want, you’ve been following me for a while now.”

"That's the greeting we get after you fall off the face of the earth?" One of them asked, the voice far too familiar than Amaya than she would have liked.

Amaya turned with wide eyes at the voice, her entire body going cold at the sight of the two people that stood behind her. “What are you doing here..?”

“I’m touched, really, but both of you should have stayed away.” Amaya only had her quinque knife on her, but even with that, she doubted she was going to be able to fight the both of them off. “I didn’t get lost, I left.”
