        • In the land of Terre A'nglis, evil if stirring. Evil in its most abhorred and terrifying form. Twilight, the God of Curruption, is awakening in the prison he was sealed in at the beginning of humanity by the other Gods for fear he would destroy their newest Children. Thousands of years later, he is awakening and his followers are intent on freeing him completely.

The Gods are still too weak to reseal Twilight's prison or kill him should he escape, so instead they choose a few Mortals to do it for them, blessing them with miraculous gifts and powers and a promise to grant their hearts' desires once they seal Twilight away.

The chosen Mortals must find each other and band together to stop Twilight, but can they forget their differences, put away their love, disown their hopes of a future, and forfeit their lives for this task? What happens when one of their chosen takes the path to free Twilight? Only you can decide the fate of Terre A'ngelis.

            • Omei had seen mountains lower than these misnamed Snowy Hills, great lopsided heaps of half-buried boulders, webbed with steep twisting passes. A number of those passes would have given a goat pause. You could travel three days through the lush forests and snow-covered meadows without seeing a single sign of Mortal habitation. This was the Roof of the World, a place that would soon become legendary.

She glanced at the others that crowded the rift between the mountains. All looked fearful and nervous, casting brief glances at a tall steel cage in the center of them all. No, they looked at its contents. The man in the cage caught and held Omei's eyes. She was not close enough to see the man's face, as She had wanted to, but suddenly She thought She was as close as She cared for. The prisoner was a tall man, with long, dark hair falling around his broad shoulders. He held Himself upright with one hand on the bars over His head. His clothes seemed ordinary, a cloak and coat and breeches that would not have caused comment in any farming village. But the way He wore them. The way He held Himself. Twilight was a God in every inch of Him. The cage might as well not have been there. He held Himself erect, head high, and looked over the other Deities as if They had come to do Him honor. And where ever His gaze swept, there the others fell silent, staring back in a mixture of fear and disgust.

"Did we make the right choice, Gallues?" Vexed with Herself, Omei grimaced. She shouldn't be acting like a Mortal and letting Her mindless tongue flap in the breeze. The decision was made. It had been on Her mind though. She was not so unconcerned as She wanted to be.

Galleus, the Skylord as Mortals called him, glanced at Her. "The other choices only held different risks, not lesser." The Skylord considered Her for a moment before placing a hand on Her shoulder. "We must do this, Omei. For our Children." Omei nodded, reluctantly.

The others were forming a circle around the steel cage. It was time. Omei and Galleus joined them and completed the circle. The air crackled and sparked with the combined power of Their joining. Every head was bowed, as though in prayer. Twilight stirred now, eyes growing large as He stared at His fellow Deities. As the air seemed to harden and crush the cage, Twilight threw back His head and laughed.

It was the last sound He was to make again. A mountain, taller than any other in Terre A'nglis rose from were Twilight once stood, rising farther and farther into the sky, past the clouds. The roar of the earth being up heaved was deafening to any Mortal.

Finally, the earth became silent and was still. The Deities were gone, back to their homes to rest. Some carrying the bodies of those who had used too much of their power and were now as dead as a Mortal being.

"The shadow fell upon the land, and the world was cleaved stone from stone. The oceans fled, the mountains were consumed, and the lands were wrought with death. The moon was as blood and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was scattered and all memory lost, save for one memory above all others; of those that had begun the Dark Wars."

"It shall once again come to pass that the shadow shall rise across the realm, darken every land, and there shall be neither light nor safety. Darkness shall be reborn, born once more as it was born before and shall be born again, time without end. And it that shall be born of the shadows, born of the ancient evil, shall stretch forth its hands, and the blood of the world will flow with death once more."[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

          • If anything, saying Haern's name around her right now is not going to go well.

            Lucy likes her privacy.

The fact that Sal knows so much is probably going to piss her off even more.
            [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

I might introduce my character a little bit later. Maybe when the group is more established.

*^ Some petty excuse that she can't jump in >.>; *

Well, I've already outlined his deductions; he can go over them with her, if she calls him on it. He hasn't actually been given all THAT much data about the others, but he habitually conceals the full extent or dearth of his knowledge. Keep 'em guessing, right?

Guess he'll just have to endure, and try to cover. He can be damn charming and persuasive when he wants to be, which might break-even against her pig-headedness. Which, with her animal connection now, has a more direct meaning.

As for Canvas; you can always do what dready is doing, and describe her initial inspiration to seek out the others. The Call is always individual, after all. And once you're on the map, we'll have an excuse to track you down. That's one reason Sal has the knowledge of the other Chosen; he's well-suited to do the detective work in gathering them in.

          • I think I'm going to have the connection be only with meat-eaters, but I'm unsure on that point right now.
            [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Strong connection with meat-eaters (wolves, etc.), moderate (perhaps limited range) connection with omnivores (rats, etc.), maybe just sense herbivore's emotions? The Lord of the Wild deals with all kinds of animals, so His Gifts may just as well apply to any of his charges, just not as well, depending on your own tendencies. I'm not saying you should, just saying you have an excuse to handle it however you like.

alright, the gifts i've thought about for ceej to have would be the following: slight increase in healing+inflict, very short term of Haste, Stop, and Slow, though the first and latter can be spread over a group of subjects nearby.

so far that's it. >.>

          • That's be a good idea. It would explain why she didn't hear anything from her horse.
            [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Pretty: Yes, but you did seem to be sensitive to what the horse was feeling at the time... perhaps more sensitive than you realized...

Dready: Seems reasonable to me. I do think you ought to have something fun like your book-mace being an omni-book. After all, knowledge is balanced; the polarity is how it's used. Clean energy or the atomic bomb? But there's lots you can decide when you like it; I'm sure some Gifts will grow slowly, or appear when they're needed.

I really like that thread imagery, though. Very cool.

I am pretty sure the Raven could actually talk telepathically anyway, it is a familiar after all.

Aww, poor Vincent got shunned, Even when he wasn't trying to flirt XD

tyvm. ^^ and the omni-book idea seems good, but i'll hold it off for later since having such expansive written knowledge isn't going to be needed for the moment, especially since it's going to be hard for him to control time for such small bursts in the first place. ^^ there's a good chance that if he tries to stop an enemy he accidentally performs haste on it, which is going to happen until he figures out the patterns to his thoughts to do so.

Oi! It's your turn! Doesn't have to be long, but you ought to get something out there, reacting to us. :)

It's an info-dump at this stage, but you can do as you like, long as you give others a chance to react if/when appropriate. My monologue for Sal was pushing it in that respect, but I think it's important to have all our PCs up to speed and on the same page, so then they can react to that page in whatever way they want to.

And dready: Very cool! And I like how you're working in a learning period. I'm not doing that much with Sal, but skill competency is his whole thing, and part of his Gift is knowing exactly what he's getting. It's the player, not the PC, who hasn't decided on everything...

            • Its not that hard to tell when a horse is scared out of its mind.
That was just usual horse mannerisms.
              [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

for a short intro it put a nice ease on the mind since you could catch subtle clues to their character. :3

<_<;; I dunno, I like these kinds of weird characters. I think I watched too much Jeff Dunham and wanted to make a ventriloquist.

Thanks Pretty. XD

canvas: see, funny and informative. very good intro, I thought. I like how you both have, like, injuries.

pretty: you wrote me into a corner, but I think I've figured a way around. It's a matter of tactics. And besides, he can explain his logic to her if she confronts him about it. But that might be next day...

All in all, I'm liking it! :)

          • I left enough room for someone to go 'hey wait a minute'

She hasn't made it to her room yet. Hell, she's not even at the staircase.

Well, way I see it, she's had a rough day, and Sal sees that now. She's frustrated, she's had to sit through some boring (to her, because she doesn't see it as her fight) exposition, so she wants to hit the bottle then hit the sack.

Sal sees no need to stop her, and he'd restrain Vince from interrupting (if he bothered to, which I'm not sure he would). Instead, he'll just leave the note to be delivered with her booze, and let her get some peace before she finds it. It'll give her a chance to calm down a bit, maybe absorb some of the words, whatever.

At the very least, she can have some alone time, and maybe crack open a bottle before she notices the note; if you, the player, want to stay involved, just have her come down as Sal is about to leave, asking if he's serious. If you just want to let us skip over time until the next morning, discover the note then; Sal's likely to be hanging around in the inn again in the morning.

Another thing the written offer does is not only put the working together on different terms, it also changes the field of battle; now he's not pursuing her on the basis of destiny, he's making her come to him if she's interested in the money. I find that alteration in the dynamic interesting.
