        • In the land of Terre A'nglis, evil if stirring. Evil in its most abhorred and terrifying form. Twilight, the God of Curruption, is awakening in the prison he was sealed in at the beginning of humanity by the other Gods for fear he would destroy their newest Children. Thousands of years later, he is awakening and his followers are intent on freeing him completely.

The Gods are still too weak to reseal Twilight's prison or kill him should he escape, so instead they choose a few Mortals to do it for them, blessing them with miraculous gifts and powers and a promise to grant their hearts' desires once they seal Twilight away.

The chosen Mortals must find each other and band together to stop Twilight, but can they forget their differences, put away their love, disown their hopes of a future, and forfeit their lives for this task? What happens when one of their chosen takes the path to free Twilight? Only you can decide the fate of Terre A'ngelis.

            • Omei had seen mountains lower than these misnamed Snowy Hills, great lopsided heaps of half-buried boulders, webbed with steep twisting passes. A number of those passes would have given a goat pause. You could travel three days through the lush forests and snow-covered meadows without seeing a single sign of Mortal habitation. This was the Roof of the World, a place that would soon become legendary.

She glanced at the others that crowded the rift between the mountains. All looked fearful and nervous, casting brief glances at a tall steel cage in the center of them all. No, they looked at its contents. The man in the cage caught and held Omei's eyes. She was not close enough to see the man's face, as She had wanted to, but suddenly She thought She was as close as She cared for. The prisoner was a tall man, with long, dark hair falling around his broad shoulders. He held Himself upright with one hand on the bars over His head. His clothes seemed ordinary, a cloak and coat and breeches that would not have caused comment in any farming village. But the way He wore them. The way He held Himself. Twilight was a God in every inch of Him. The cage might as well not have been there. He held Himself erect, head high, and looked over the other Deities as if They had come to do Him honor. And where ever His gaze swept, there the others fell silent, staring back in a mixture of fear and disgust.

"Did we make the right choice, Gallues?" Vexed with Herself, Omei grimaced. She shouldn't be acting like a Mortal and letting Her mindless tongue flap in the breeze. The decision was made. It had been on Her mind though. She was not so unconcerned as She wanted to be.

Galleus, the Skylord as Mortals called him, glanced at Her. "The other choices only held different risks, not lesser." The Skylord considered Her for a moment before placing a hand on Her shoulder. "We must do this, Omei. For our Children." Omei nodded, reluctantly.

The others were forming a circle around the steel cage. It was time. Omei and Galleus joined them and completed the circle. The air crackled and sparked with the combined power of Their joining. Every head was bowed, as though in prayer. Twilight stirred now, eyes growing large as He stared at His fellow Deities. As the air seemed to harden and crush the cage, Twilight threw back His head and laughed.

It was the last sound He was to make again. A mountain, taller than any other in Terre A'nglis rose from were Twilight once stood, rising farther and farther into the sky, past the clouds. The roar of the earth being up heaved was deafening to any Mortal.

Finally, the earth became silent and was still. The Deities were gone, back to their homes to rest. Some carrying the bodies of those who had used too much of their power and were now as dead as a Mortal being.

"The shadow fell upon the land, and the world was cleaved stone from stone. The oceans fled, the mountains were consumed, and the lands were wrought with death. The moon was as blood and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was scattered and all memory lost, save for one memory above all others; of those that had begun the Dark Wars."

"It shall once again come to pass that the shadow shall rise across the realm, darken every land, and there shall be neither light nor safety. Darkness shall be reborn, born once more as it was born before and shall be born again, time without end. And it that shall be born of the shadows, born of the ancient evil, shall stretch forth its hands, and the blood of the world will flow with death once more."[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

            • Of course only if you want to.

But we do need villians. Just not right this moment.
              [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]

Well, whereas Sal is a brainy skill-meister, I think a villian I should play would be an unstoppable physical tank of a warrior. Of course, he'd be unsuitable for leadership; probably best as a chief enforcer, top hit-man, whatever. Tell me who to destroy, I'll obliterate them, even if I can't spell "kill"

I could play the head priest or leader of sorts.

And I am being dragged off, will finish the post when I get back.

Fixed some stuff in my post, I also made Vincent lower his hood for once since I am guessing most customers in the in have gone to bed.

*thinks of a good villain* hm... huh... um... oh! a sorcerer that works with deception and hit and run tactics! :3

I will likely be playing mage-type, or a warrior type, but not like a barbarian, more of a rouge or a swordsman. Of course, I could also play Twilight when he shows himself. I can even play an archer. Though I think it would be cool if he leads the baddies.

So, a post from lucy and then our Defacto leader Sal and I can do, that or I can make Vincent pace around a bit.

MM Kind of displayed a want for a character like that, but don't worry about it.
We will find things out, all I know is that I want to play Twilight's head priest or someone high ranked.

HOHMIGAW!
I think I have devised a bad guy character!
And I like him too!
Not exactly Vincent's counterpart, but a good bad guy.

I don't actually think anyone ought to play Twilight. The Gods work best when portrayed basically as forces of nature, anyway; largely unguessable, unstoppable, incomprehensible. Besides, I wouldn't even trust my own skills to portray a God the way it ought to be portrayed, and I've got a Masters in Writing and have sold fiction work in professional markets.

It's an understandable desire, but none of us would do it justice. Describing the side effects, or how it appears to everyone; that's something different. We can all do that.

And I don't see Sal as the leader. Organizer, perhaps. Drawing everyone together, definitely. But he's not a commander type; he normally doesn't even work with anyone else. Though if he has to play the "boss" card with Lucy, he might; I hold that in reserve. Point is, once the group is gathered, he's all about trying to keep people on track and providing what information he can. If you WANT him to lead, that's a different story...

from what i've seen, the group is going to be more mis-matched than the average newbie DnD party with half of them elves and the others dwarves. i also doubt that there will be much of a leader amongst all of the members, yet maybe two or three together would act as one complete leader with three minds, bodies, and souls. ^^

Well, we could leave Twilight to the GM. But as I said. I have my own reasons to wish to portray Twilight or his voice for a little while, I understand that most of the action however is going to be against his followers. I would be happy to settle with perhaps the leader of the group, kind of a head priest. I am quite good at playing evil characters like that as well, and I have an idea for the character too.

I wish I had a masters in writing, but I am not there yet >.>

Meh, for now he seems to be in the control, that is why I said DeFacto

I'm not sure we actually HAVE a GM, though Pretty can take the position if she wishes it, as initial organizer.

So, wait, you're not the GM, but you have reasons to voice Twilight? Um... kay...

Eh. I'll accept DeFacto... It'll work for now. But just so you know, that's not my intent...

Well, for those particular reasons using Twilight's priest works well enough too *Nodnod*

Mr Master said:
Actually, dready, my boy, I think your PC and mine might get along pretty well. You're interested in balance, I'm experienced enough that I rarely have too many extremes...

And now I'm knock knock knockin' on CJ's door...

Boo!
be warned, when you knock on a young priest's door...

you'll get a joke. X3

and maybe there's different priests to Twilight? like there's a few for combat, a few for rituals, etc etc.

What's a good movie reference... I would almost think of my guy like... like in Mummy Returns. There was the big black guy, the enforcer and killer? Not really a priest, but a believer, and a warrior. That's my guy, but probably stupider, albeit sort of an idiot savant when it comes to murder and combat.

A barbarian type would have more complexity and more than one application. Berserker would be more accurate for me, I think, without all the "losing control" stuff...

I think it would be fun to see my guy do that point and say "Sic'em"
Though being that stupid would be extreme, more like having bezerking as more of a special ability.
Movie refrences for me... well... I will need to think of that. tall, dark, charismatic, deadly XD
Kind of an antivincent because Vincent is so shy

Well, we ARE talking high fantasy. That kind of single-skill would be very useful in a world like this. Of course, he's still have otehr insterests, like, I dunno, making dollhouse furniture, or something really off-kilter from what you'd expect. Very physical, though. Maybe his dollhouse furniture all sucks, too, but he enjoys it...

Well, I guess it would depend on his relationship with the priest, who will also be a warrior.
As I said, my character would be a kind of warrior or swordsman, but instead of strength rely more on skill or magic. Currently I have him using heavily enchanted weapons, perhaps even a weapon related to souldrinker.
Currently his only confirmed weapons are his gloves which are evil and undoubtedly enchanted, or even sentient, he may fight unarmed even with them.
