This girl... did she even listen to a word he said? Her reply was automatic and she didn't even argue or question him. He hoped it would have been enough though, because these conversations were hard enough as is and if she continued down this path, it might lead to problems for the both of them. He was just glad that Mary hadn't noticed the things that already happened between the two of them - he would have been in a lot of trouble.
"No, it's fine. I'll take you home." He did exactly that, took his daughter home and after warning his wife again that he'd be out with 'the guys', which was now becoming a weekend ritual it seems, he took the clothes and drove... to the mall again.
Liam got to the mall with an objective. He bought things for the girls, but he still had a present for Olivia to buy. He remembered her looking fondly at a few things, so he went ahead and bought another dress similar to the one she bought. Then he switched them in the car. The dress Olivia picked out would be her present and the one he bought that was similar enough would be for the girls.
Eventually he reached the apartment with the bags holding the dress, tops, jeans and shorts in one hand and another bag holding the statue he never got to give the girls before because of the situation. "Girls, hey." He said as he walked in and closed the door. "It smells good." Well, it smelled like something, not bad at least. "I brought presents. Call it housewarming gifts." He said, presenting the bags with the clothes.
