A guard with a twist (cat/Divine)

The prince waited downstairs, and was eating his own breakfast slowly and properly. He had watched over the preparing of her meal, and had watched the maids usher her into the bathroom. None of them seemed to bear the princess ill will, so he left them be. He sat at a small three chair table, and he had put her food across from his own. He watched her as she approached and he waved a bit. "Good morning your highness." He said, standing and pulling the chair out for her as she sat down.

Soon enough she was dressed and being escorted down the stairs and to the small table to eat. Her orbs fell on Alexander and she gave a soft smile with her greeting. "Good morning Alexander, sleep well?" she asked before sitting in the chair he had pulled. Needless to say she was impressed by his actions and slowly her smile grew. She looked over her food before the girls brought a goblet filled with orange juices. She slowly began to drink it before resting it on the table and begin to pick at her food.

The prince studied the female who brought out the goblets, but recognized her as one of the princess'sregular maids. He sipped delicatly at the juice, making sure it was not poisoned or anything. It was just fine, and he drank a bit more of it. He picked at her food and looked up at her. "So, how are you, Your Highness? What are we going to do today?" He asked pleasently.

She paused for a moment thinking over her plans for the day before glancing across the table. "I was hoping to go for a walk in the gardens or a walk around the grounds" she offered up with a friendly smile before she went back to eating. After a while she had finished her meal and looked back over to him. "Alexander.." she started before the maids got in her way of clearing her dish. "Are you fond of mazes?" She seemed to be trying to make peace with the fact he was now her babysitter and enjoy his company.

"We have a grand maze within the gardens..."

The prince watched her eat for a bit and he finished up his meal, eating like a normal male would. He looked up at her when she mentioned mazes. "I do like a challenge, yes... But I'm not fond of the idea of us splitting up inside of it, Your Highness. I would be lost inside for perhaps an hour or more, and you likely have the place memorized. You would be able to slip out unnoticed and go frolic without your guard. When you said you would try to behave, I took that to mean you would not behave when you had the chance." He said softly. "Was I wrong to interpret it that way?" He asked.

Harlie only lifted a brow before a soft laugh escaped her, her hand moving quickly to cover her lips as she smirked. "Why Alexander, you would assume I would misbehave in such a manner" she purred softly before lowering her hand and resting them in her lap. "Well then Alexander, what do you purpose to we do." Her violet orbs watched him with a hint of amusement.

He was glad she caught the mirth in the statement, and wasn't angry that he shot down her idea for the maze. "Well then. We could still go for a walk in the garden, or around the grounds, Your Highness. I appologize for my lack of trust, but you did bring it upon yourself." He said, finishing up his meal and waiting for her to do the same before he took the plates back to the kitchen himself and returned.

She could only bow her head to hide her smile. "I think the gardens will be fine." She met his gaze before rising from her seat and smoothing her dress. She then glanced at the maids who quickly bowed and left them. "Now then Alexander" she purred as she returned her gaze to him. "Are you sure the walk won't bore one like yourself?" She seemed to be teasing him as her painted lips spread into a sweet smile.

The prince watched as the princess got an almost excited look in her eyes. He didn't like thought of her getting that excited, but he had suggested it. He walked back to her and pulled her chair out so she could stand, as a gentleman should. "I should be okay without excitement. Being excited as a bodyguard doesn't sound like a good thing."

She only bowed her head again as she stood, glancing at him before smiling. "very well then, shall we go then?" she asked with a soft smirk. "I doubt anything exciting will happen... nothing ever does." She gave a faint tilt of her head before she ran her hands over her dress once again.

The prince nodded and helped the princess to her feet before escorting her out of the castle. "Lead away, Your Highness." He said, walking about a foot to her left. If something was to happen to her, the prince would intervene, but he did seriously doubt anything bad happening in the garden.

She smiled with a bow of her head before leading the way to the gardens. The flowers were in bloom, the air was sweet as the gentle breeze tickle her skin. Those violet orbs scanned the garden as her steps were light on the cobble stone walk. She slowly glanced to him before tipping her head. "Alexander... I know nothing about you...Why don't you share."

Alexander walked slowly with the princess, and looked around at the lovely flowers. He stared at them for a moment before he realized someone was speaking to him, and he snapped out of it. "Oh, i'm sorry Your Highness. Well, what is it you wish to know about me?" He asked as they tread slowly through the garden, looking at all of the flowers.

She gave a soft laugh. "Well your age, hobbies and things like that?" she chimed sweetly as she ran her fingers over the leaves of the shrubs that lined the garden. She glanced to him before moving her gaze to the swaying trees.

"I am twenty years old, and my only real hobby is swordfighting." He responded. The prince got a bit of a worried look for a second, but brushed it off. He cursed himself for not thinking up more hobbies to get into before coming here. "And what about you, Your Highness?" He asked.

She nodded slowly before lifting a brow to his question. "I'm 18 and will someday wed whom my father chooses. I enjoy reading, the gardens, the pond, and of course the maze. I enjoy excitement and I enjoy feeling free even though I know I'm not." she chimed slightly softer than before. She slowly brushed some heavy ringlets out of her eyes before glancing to him. "Sword fighting? that's a very interesting hobby... Are you as good as my father thinks?"

He nodded. "Yes. I am quite proficient with a blade. I have won the national championship in my homeland three years in a row." He remarked proudly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like I was bragging." He said. "I also like horse riding, and my own freedom. But until this war is over, both of our freedoms have been cut a bit." He said.

She lifted a brow before nodding. "Yes both our freedoms are gone but it didn't saw it had to be dull." she purred sweetly before slowly close the space between. "Alexander" she purred in low honey tone as her hands slowly began to creep up his chest, well one hand that is. The other was busy gripping the hilt of his sword. She smiled sweetly up to him before she quickly pushed him back, pulling his sword free from its home. She smirked as she looked over the blade, studying it before she glanced at him. Keeping a firm grim on it she extend her arm out and to her side. "Heavy, but is it any good?"

The prince nodded a bit and watched as she approached him. He blushed as the female put a hand on his chest, and he did not push her away as she grasped his sword. She stepped back, slipping the blade from it's sheath. "Yes. That is an effective combat sword. The one I had yesterday at the banquet was much more a decoration." He said, holding out one hand. "May I have that back, Your Highness?"

She slowly shook her head as she glanced back to the sword. "No...If you want, take it." she purred a she tighten her grip on the hilt. "Unless your to afraid." she purred again, slowly moving the sword to point at him. She smirked as the ringlets framed her face. She knew how to handle a sword and was curious to see his skill.

"Princess... If we had some play swords or training blades, I would gladly take my sword back, but that is a real weapon. You could hurt yourself with it." He said. The blade was a sabre, so it was long and bladed only on one side. It came to a sharp point, so while she had it bared, he couldn't get any closer without the risk of injury. He reached over into the garden abd pulled out a wooden shovel, to be used as his own weapon in case she really wouldn't give it back.

Her head tilted to the side as a soft chuckle fell pass her lips. How could she not laugh as he grabbed the wooden shovel. All at once she lowered the blade before brushing some ringlets out of her eyes. "Here" she purred before tilting the handle towards him. "It wouldn't be a fair fight but perhaps later we could play."

The prince laid the shovel back down and he took his blade back, slipping it back into it's sheath. "Well, perhaps we will play later. But as of now... How about you show me around the castle? Or the town? I have seen very little of either one." He said, looking at the princess.

"I suppose I could show you the castle. I'm not allowed in town ..." she added softly before peering up the castle over her shoulder. "This way." she chimed before leading back up to the castle and through one of the grand french doors. She showed him about the lower part of the castle, the grand hall, the many studies lined with books, the dinning room and so on. She then lead up him one of the many stair cases and showed him the library and one of her favorite studies that was closer to her room. The halls were lined with large windows that towered over them, heavy drapes lined them as they walked on red ornate carpets. Slowly she turned to him with a soft smile.

"Anything I left out?" she mused before she again close the space between them. She enjoyed his reaction to her bold moves int he garden. Truth was, she enjoyed making people squirm.

The male watched and peered around as she lead him all through the big castle. Many studies and libraries, all well stocked with priceless books. The prince knew how to read, being a noble, but even he had never seen many of the titles on display in the studies. He was looking around in the closest one when the princess spoke to him. He turned to look at her and shook his head. "Not that I know of, Your Highness." He said, backing up a step as she approached. She looked like a cat playing with food when she did that.
