I am unsure of the seating arrangements at the table but I figure that Aleks and Estella would be sitting next to one another with Leo opposite Estella and Jane by his side. Please do correct me if I am wrong, or if either of you have a different perspective.

I think that would be fair. I think that Estella situated herself next to the wall looking towards the door they came through. I don't think Leo has had enough training to consider such things, so he would be facing the other end of the carriage.

I was actually thinking it was maybe like a corner booth? With Estella back in the corner with Aleks and Leo on either side, so she can stare smolderingly across to Jane in a chair?

I like it.

Also, I'll post after MsBloom has a chance to post. :)

Now that we have all our little eggs in one basket, anything you all want to discuss before the fox enters the chicken coop and I mix some more metaphors?

I'm thinking it is about time for Reinhard to pluck one of you out for questioning.

Should we draw sticks? Roll a dice? Maybe have a game of strip Never Have I Ever?
Reinhard will pick who he wants to talk to first, I just don't want to break up the group if you have unfinished business. But I kind of feel like you are all killing time at the moment.

I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Bring on the fox.

I probably should have had Reinhard introduce himself as that would seem to be custom, though courtesy wasn't necessarily a Nazi trademark. @Vinaein were you assuming he made an introduction or does he know him another way?

I don't mind editing as it was a bit sloppy of me, but I don't want to blow past a plot point if it was intentional.

Just let me know.

@xavierrol Sneaky with the guy being a journalist, or at least pretending to be.

There was another small matter though, of which I fear we may have failed to inform you.

If it had been Jane's intention to meet privately in one of their compartments, she would find the entrance to the entire car blocked by an armed German policeman.

I realise this is quite logical as such but ...

you want to have Jane go find the "courier's" discarded clothes? I was thinking they might be in Estella's compartment, but you'd have to come up with an excuse for her to go in there. Again.
I already have a reason of sorts for Jane to come to Estella's compartment and that is to investigate whether or not Estella could be a murderess,
The highest level explanation is: someone on the train is aware of the murder at the Savoy, knows Estella is involved, and is trying to frame her for the courier's murder.

@Shiva the Cat and I had kind of planned this.

I think we can still make it work tbh. Anyone searching Estella’s compartment probably wouldn’t have any way to know the clothes weren’t hers. Jane would know because she got a description of what the spectacled woman was wearing.

Also head’s up everybody: I have a bad cold and may not post today, and if I do please bear in mind it was probably written under the influence of too much DayQuil 😩

True but I was hoping to find them sooner rather than later.

Anyhow, with the sleeping compartments off limits where should we meet to talk, or should we wait out the interrogations first?

How about I omit the guards but you find Jeudith cleaning Estella's room instead of Aleks'?

Hope you feel better!

Well, there is the journalist we gotta blow off first. Ahem... ;)
