An apocalyptic romance Alisa X Kira

"I don't know. You arent being very helpful though." She stated frankly, "All you are doing is asking questions and giving horrible ideas."

"Unfair." Sonia said, "Entirely unfair, you just said you would love to travel with me and now you wont even help. The least you could do is help." she crossed her arms and huffed.

"Haha, love, this is a valuable lesson in that case. Life is not fair. Not everyone gets dealt an even hand, people slip cards up their sleeves and hedge their bets. Get used to it, you want something, you have to make it happen. And if you want this" She said opening her bearskin revealing her full-frontal for a moment before covering again.
"Then you must find a way" She winked.

Sonia huffed, "I don't know." She said and sat down and turned her back, "Just, just, just help me. Please?"

"I wish I could, but I honestly can't think of a reason I would ever be in a scouting party of two. It's not like I am hiding a great secret from you or something" She declared.

"There is always the truth then." Sonia shrugged, "I fancy you and would much prefer you traveling with me."

Ethel nodded and rubbed her chin.
"Though personally, in a quest as important as this, I would argue that you should base placements off best performance. But it's worth a try if you think your team will go for that, Oh and you can always say it in a way where I can't hear, that way you can imply I don't know yet. Perhaps your team with better sympathize with a crush more than a booty call. It has more implied innocence instead of whatever twisted perverted thoughts are actually swimming around in that dirty mind of yours" She suggested.

"You have no idea...." Sonia cooed and leaned in and kissed Ethel's cheek. She then stopped and looked up, her keen ears picking up the sound of voices from a mile off. "They will be here soon." she said, "I will imply that you do not know yet." Sonia said as she got up and walked over to sit across from Ethel, as to not imply anything immediately. "I will take them off to the side and tell them, that way it seems more believable."

"I didn't I don't have the ears or eyes of an elf, and that works for me, I'll just stay by the fire and pretend to be cold. After all, the cat was out of the bag immediately for you to see me walk around naked but my ability to handle the cold isn't usually something I advertise." She smiled.

Sonia nodded as her companions appeared out of the woods.

"Sonia!" a dwarf shouted and took off running towards her.

"Sheldon!" She shouted as she stood up, leapt over Ethel and ran towards him, they embraced eachother in a warm hug, shortly after her other companions came out of the woods. An older looking orc warrior, a young female human brandishing a holy symbol and a hulking goliath of a man nearly eight feet all, wearing nothing more than a loin cloth and a helmet, on his back was a broadsword as long as he was tall, they all embraced eachother in warm hugs like old friends.

"Well what news of the camp?" Sheldon asked, "Plan of attack? Anythin?"

"So, we took care of it." Sonia said.

"We?" The barbarian asked in his gruff voice, as deep as the night is dark.

"Yes, we." Sonia pointed to Ethel, "She helped, when I came in to save them as I felt I could not wait, it did appear that they were going to be shipping the girls out again soon and they would be lost, I freed Ethel first, who helped me free the rest, she had the brilliant idea to set off a keg of powder and it killed everyone." Sonia looked down sheepishly, "She is beautiful, I would like her to travel with me, I..." she rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, "Fancy her."

The barbarian let out a low chuckle, "Oooh, Sonia has a crush." The man walked past the group and sat down across from Ethel, he put his sword to the side and stared at Ethel for a moment, "Break her heart, and I will break your neck." he said firmly, and nothing more.

She had been listening but, most would assume she wasn't the way she had been staring into the fire. When the Goliath approached her she didn't look up until after he spoke.
"Hmm? oh sorry, what was that? I-I am focusing on s-staying w-warm" She sounded like she was near shivering.
"Oh wait, do you prefer your native tongue?" She asked in Giant, still sitting down and curled up.

"Hmm." he said, "I like you." he replied in his native tongue and smiled, as the rest of the companions sat around the fire, this time Sonia sat beside Ethel.

"So, tell me about this heroic rescue Sonia said you helped orchestrate." The cleric asked, her voice as soothing as the soft snowfall, and about as calming as a babbling brook, "She said you helped quite a bit." Obviously the cleric was testing her to see if the stories matched up. Everyone else in the group trusted Ethel, but if Margaret the Cleric decided not to, their entire opinions would change.

She looked at the Cleric and gave her a warm smile that was completely new to Sonia, all her smiles previously seemed more devious, this one looked completely innocent and soft.
"Oh, well I was in a town not far from here, doing a little shopping, and those men came and took every woman and girl in the village. Obviously including me. They brought us inlined us up and what seemed to be the leader was about to rape the smallest of the lot, while the others seemed to be prepping to move us again. I teased the man to get his attention while Sonia, I believe was taking out one of them. The rest happened kind of quickly, but I noticed they had lots of gunpowder and alcohol barrels. Once every innocent woman got out, then boom. Unfortunately, all my belongings were burned up in the fire. I gave Sonia some gold as thanks for her help, which is all I could find. Luckily Sonia had this bearskin or I would be in my bare skin right now" She spoke in a soft calming voice, with a slight shakiness to it, implying either she was cold, nervous, afraid, or a mix of all of them.

The cleric nodded and the barbarian laughed a low grumble. "Heh heh heh, shes naked under that bear skin Sonia." Sonia blushed furiously and turned away.

The hardened orc warrior pulled off his pack and pulled out some leather garments, he stood up and handed them to ethel, then spoke, even though his body was old, he spoke with a young voice and his eyes had a light behind them that spoke volumes about him, he had been in hundreds of skirmishes and was not the kind to fight first, but the way he carried himself said that if he did fight, he would walk away every time. "Always carry a spare." he said warmly. "He took off his bear skin cloak and handed it to Ethel as well. "Keep warm."

"Sonia." The orc said, "I am commandeering this bear skin for my new cloak." he said. "After all, I killed it." he said picking up the spare skin from her tent. Sonia simply nodded.

Ethel thought to herself that it was lucky she had cleaned it up that morning with her prestidigitation spell.
"Thanks, heh, lucky seems just about my size as well." She stood up.
"Should I just change here or should I go into the tent first?" she asked holding the armour in one hand as the other held the bearskin to keep herself covered.

Everyone but Sonia covered their eyes in protest, "No lass, please give yourself some privacy." Sheldon said.

Sonia was practically drooling but quickly pulled herself together, "Yes please, give yourself some privacy." she said, almost reluctantly.

"Right, I'll just go into the tent then, I won't be long" She smiled still speaking in a soft tone, walking into the tent and starting to change.

"Sonia." Margaret said, "You like her?"

"Yes." Sonia admitted, "She is brave, and bold, and beautiful."

"Heh....." the barbarian laughed, and made a motion of poking his finger into his fist, "You wanna fuck her?"

"Good god man!" Sheldon said and bopped the barbarian on the head.

"OW!" the barbarian shouted, "I'll crush you little man!"

"Oh god here they go again." The fighter said as the dwarf and barbarian went at eachother like children, the dwarf dove head first into the barbarian bowling him over and they tumbled to the ground wrestling with each other in the snow.

"You son of a-" the dwarf would start before the barbarian would grab him this went on for a few good minutes, the rest of the party just watched, this was a regular occurrence for them as the dwarf and giant never get along, "I'll show you little!" the dwarf shouted and bonked the barbarian on the head.

"I've had shits bigger than you tiny man!" The barbarian shouted "Ow!"

As they fought Ethel stepped out of the tent putting on one of the gloves as she was now dressed for the first time since Sonia had met her.
"Whoa! Dog fight, my bets are one the big one, but I secretly want the Dwarf to come out on top" She stated out loud, enough that everyone could hear her as she moved to stand beside Sonia.
"You got this! get to his back!" She shouted in flawless dwarvish.

"Nobody wins these." The fighter stated gruffly, "They will be-" He looked over, "Yup." They two were indeed, asleep, out cold in the snow. The fighter pulled out his pipe and lit it, "So, Ethel, tell us about yourself. You are certainly tall for a woman, so I would not classify you as entirely human, there is a certain radiance about you as well. I bet you are quite good with words." he said, "Good at convincing people of things?" he smiled, "Please sit, we are no inquisition."

"Right" she nodded and sat by the fire.
"First my height, I actually don't know my birth parents, though I have presumed I might have goliath ties, because of my height and size mostly, though if that is the case it's likely quite a small amount. Outside that, I presumed human mostly." She stated.
"And as for words, they are something of a specialty of mine" She stated, speaking in flawless Orcish.
"I have traveled a fair bit and odds are if you need a knowledge of a language I have it. Speaking reading writing the whole shebang" She explained returning to common.
"And as for the convincing, I believe I have something of a talent for reading people, usually my role is involved in walking into a place and gathering information for others, something of a scholar, some might say. I often pose as entertainment. A singer of tales, a Bard. They are welcome in most places and are quite good at blending in. On top of that people aren't afraid to talk in front of them." She explained before tapping a finger to her chin.
"Is there anything else you would like to know?"

"I knew it." The orc said, "You had a certain magick about you." she smiled, "Pray tell." he started talking in orcish, so Sonia would not understand, "Did you use this Magick on dear Sonia here?" he wasn't accusing, he was curious, more so concerned, Ethel would quickly discover the old wise orc was more so a father figure for the group.

She smiled and shook her head.
"Heh, not at all, I don't know any charm spells, to be honest, though I do know some magics my skills in that department are lacking. I know some healing and survival spells as well as a handful of utility spells, None that can harm or changes one's perspective, at least not yet. I usually win those over with my charm and often times my music and tales." she explained.
