In Hushed Whispers (1×1 with Jikkah)

The woman’s face was scrunched slightly, unconscious still, and flushed with fever. Kojurou has said she was an abomination, but she didn’t quite seem like one. Her appearance was normal except for the crystals, and she had been speaking coherently before fainting; who was she?

As he peeled her out of her wet clothes, he saw a faint glow emanating from her, lines covering her arms and legs.

They ran down her shoulders to the backs of her hands- he noticed them on her chest too, peeking out from under the blanket covering her.

She was still unconscious when the two men came back, shivering a bit even under the heavy blanket. Her inky hair was a mess of tangles, but it was kept mostly out of the way, showing the crystals growing on her face and the tattoos covering her.

"She's being used as a lyrium mine. Whoever housed her before only to get raw lyrium out of her." Kojurou explained. Masamune looked disgusted.
"Maker, how awful.."

It made sense now, why she ran when she saw Kojurou, why she said she wouldn’t go back. Had she belonged to a Circle? And the Lyrium was for mining, but what of the marks all across her body?

"Is she a circle mage? Do you know?" Masamune asked. Kojurou shook his head.
"She doesn't belong to the circle. An apostate and an abomination."
"Stop calling her that." Masamune huffed defensively, "She didn't ask to be made into a crystal mine."

Willingly or not, she was not normal- perhaps the reason she was found guzzling Kojurou’s Lyrium potions like she would die if she hadn’t. Was she addicted to it? It wasn’t entirely unlikely if she was an apostate, and one on the run at that; but where did she come from, and who would be coming after her?

"I'm gonna keep her around...get her help." Masamune said.
"The only way you could help her is if you killed her." Kojurou told him. Masamune started swatting at him.
"Enough of that!" He growled.

Would she want his help? She hardly listened to him when he called out to her before, but she looked so terrified, perhaps if the circumstances were a bit calmer?
In the light he could see she looked about his age, with pale skin and bags under her eyes he could only assume was a result of her being a living Lyrium farm, and long raven colored hair. She was pretty, despite how sick she looked.

He blushed softly and cleared his throat, "Let's leave her to rest.." He said, making sure she was sufficiently bundled up.

When the rain stopped in the early morning, Megohime was still where she was left, still sleeping in Masamune’s tent. Her clothes were dry, and she was warm, but she was still with fever.

Masamune had dug through all Kojurou's books to see if there was anything herbal he could make for her, but all they had was the tea the templar swore by.

There was no choice, they just didn’t have the right supplies on them to treat a fever, they would have to continue onward for home and treat her there.

Megohime opened her eyes, feeling ill, but not as worse as before... Before? She sat up quickly heart starting to race once more. She remembered the men, falling into a river, then nothing, where was she, what happened?

She was in a room she didn't recognize, not tied down and in a dry clean linen dress. Where was she? This wasn't Alessio's home.

Her head still felt stuffy and hot, vision blurred as she looked around. What had happened with those men? Did they take her somewhere? Had they turned her in? Her throat burned for Lyrium, and it forced her from her bed. Slowly she slid out of bed, wobbling before she stabilized herself with the bed, making her way toward the door in search of Lyrium.

This was definitely not Alessio's home. Where was she? Did they take her to their home? Who does that? Why did they do that?

Megohime moved to the door, trying the door handle, expecting it to be locked, but she found it unlocked. Opening the door she glanced out into the hallway, already cold from being out of bed.

She had to go before Alessio came to collect her, surely those two men had already alerted him of where she was. She hurried silently down the hall, finding Lyrium would have to come later, she had to escape now.
