Kinks and Stuff you hate

Cheating/cuckolding/affairs/adultery whatever you want to call it.

First of all, I want to make it clear: poly and open relationships, where there is no betrayal, are not what I'm talking about. I am poly myself.

Now, I know the internet is not a "safe space" for me, and I don't claim to want to make it one. But I have legitimate trauma associated with adultery. Real life trauma. And I see it everywhere, and it just... nope. Nope. Nope nope nope. I will block people who ask, but thankfully, no one has so far.

Kinks I hate:

Noncon -- it quickly becomes code for "dom does everything, sub sits there and does nothing to advance things but moan about how pleasant it is" and quickly becomes unenjoyable for me.

Scat and vomit -- No. Just no.

Oh and another thing!
People who claim they want a sub, but they really mean they just want a fuck-doll to lie back and take whatever they want, with zero input or agency in the matter.
What sort of fun is that, to just write my "sub" lying back and taking it? Even if I'm writing non-con, there's no way in hell my people are gonna lie quiet.
I don't write dainty pillow princesses. No. Even my more delicate characters, my more submissive ones, wouldn't qualify as straight subs.

Stories with an overt focus on Abrahamic religious figures. I don't have any particular loyalty to Christianity or anything but for some reason, novels that try to reinvent or put their own spin on figures like Lucifer, Lilith, Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Gabriel, Michael, etc. make me grind my teeth. Lesser knowns like Beelzebub or newly named/original Archangels are fine. Mankind origin stories NOT about Adam, Eve, the bloody snake, and tree? Totally fine. I don't even mind your pretentious preaching about humanity and our relationships with deity, messengers, temptations, creation, and sin.

But when you use the referential names, like you're subverting expectations(you're not) or telling the "truth" of the old tales in a new way(you're not) or staying faithful to the same roles and story it's soooo trite and cringey. It's not bold to make Lucifer seem heroic or misunderstood and you're not being clever or unique to make Gabriel and Michael sin and have doubts. Shut up. Let me hear the story of lesser known angel Chandler or use one of the devils, like Paimon reinvented as King of Hell.
I changed my mind on this. Actually, I am really getting into not only published works like books, movies, and tv shows that put a unique spin on Biblical figures and stories but I also enjoy reframing Biblical stories with new context.

I recently had an idea where the set up is like a very typical zombie apocalypse story with a ragtag team of survivors. But then at some point, it is revealed that the place they're at is actually heaven and the zombies are the enslaved souls of Christians. God is an ego-maniacal tech-wizard that lives on the hill in this dimension and he has a radio that he uses to contact select people on earth. However, those of his chosen vessels for his message go mad from prolonged contact with the focused radio waves over time. Eating the blood and body of Christ is like signing an interdimensional contract that transports you to the heaven dimension upon your earth-death. However, you are lobotomized promptly upon arrival and are only there to worship and praise the tech-wizard forever and ever. Our ragtag team of survivors are actually renegade angels fighting to get to the Earth gate. They have to stop people from signing the contract, because erroneously, this is preached as a "saving" gospel on earth, when it's really an enslavement covenant.

A manga (Billy Bat) by a manga-ka I really love (Naoki Urasawa), did a whole lot of alternate history fuckery. One of my favorite bits was what he did with Judas and Christ however. That's all I'll say. (Sorry I can't afford anything OT since I already posted my big one, but you reminded me of this and I wasn't sure if you were okay with unsolicited PMs.)

For stuff like this, yes, I am. That sounds fairly interesting! I'll have to give it a look. Thank you.

People strictly into hypercocks: Let's be honest, size matters and I know that, the pleassure a big meaty rod can give you is not the same a tiny wiener will attempt to give you. I get it, but have you really had a REALLY big cock inside you? Yeah I don't find unrealisticaly big dicks a thing I enjoy. Specialy when on their own fantasies my bigger character (down there) is considered small. Alright so a 18.5 centimeterd cock is small, ok...

I mean I would get it if we are playing as characters with a completely different size, for example if my partner is playing a giantess I'd understand...but a 1.60 meters tall girl? A two feet long cock will definitely break you...

The cock standard on furry fandom: I love furries or anthro characters, but I just hate the standards. A normal sized cock is considered micro, a big cock irl is small. You must be at least 30 centimeters down there for people to say you have a big cock in said fandom. No thank you, so much blood down there will surely make me faint or have heart insufficiency.

I've never played with someone who wanted full hypercock, but I have had two rp partners who specified their character had a 12 inch cock.
I wound up just pretending it was smaller and roleplaying accordingly.
But hey, this is just an inherent part of humanity.

Part of me has always wanted to play a character with something like that (the character I had in mind was for a fantasy roleplay, they were like... half-ogre or something. They were tall-human sized, but their dick was more ogre-sized), but play it realistically (i.e. they're not penetrating anyone with it). Just as, like, idk, a novelty gimmick. But otherwise, nah.

People like that make me want to propose some character with some comical trickster-deity dick where it's so long the dude wraps it like three or four times around his waist and uses it as a grappling hook or whatever.

Stealing

People who claim to like your plot idea but then proceed to try and change everything about it.
Yup. Especially wanting to add random characters and fantasy to a realistic plot

People who claim they want to do fandoms, but don't know the fundamentals of the world they want to have it in.
Slang and cell phones in XVIth century...

Mine

Completely tied up, can't move. So what does she do? Even worse if she can't talk.

Noncon (love dubcon, especially the thoughts). If my character isn't in any way attracted, i'm not writing that.

Adultery has become almost a no. My character will cheat if the plot requires it but I don't want to compete with another woman, so that only works if my cowriter doesn't want to be able to cheat with another woman, and just have MC cheat (on his character, or with his character). I'm also fine with his character cheating on mine with a man, but absolutely no "ow"

I'm not attracted to huge cocks. I'll ignore them and treat them as "big" normal cocks. In fact I don't want numbers, and if you ask numbers about my character, I might be able to give you height...

Slang and cell phones in XVIth century...

I know it is very popular in movies and TV shows to incorporate modern morality and attitudes into the past but that annoys me too. Why do people want something set in historical times if they are just going to play it as if it is 2021?

LOL yeah, I was once asked what size cocks I like as "It varies" I am pretty sure he meant in regards to the RP and his character but like, who cares? He obviously missed everything I wrote in terms of story and character development.

First-person POVs : Look, we all started as new writers not too familiar with Roleplay conventions and I'm sure that no one started off as a novelist-level author, either. But I never understood why 1st person is a thing. Usually, when writing with someone I'll expect them to be playing a character, not themselves. Of course, most of us tend to put at least an inkling of a set number of our beliefs and conceptions about how the characters act and interact. So pardon me if I offend anyone by saying self-inserts is a huge turn-off.

Hyper: Can't say I'm the only one, I'm good with voluptuous body proportions, sometimes I may have my character be on the larger side for not-so-realistic plots. But please, I can't take 30 inch cocks seriously. I have always struggled to write MC's reaction to them as well, or how they would work in the context. Needless to say, I always specify that's not what I am into.

Unresponsive Subs : essentially what Cantarella said in her post. I always struggle to have my characters do nothing but submit to another, they may do so occasionally during sex, but in public? Nope. Unless the other character is extremely good at keeping them in check, they'll bite back hard.

"Alpha" Males: This is something I never got the appeal of. It seems silly when people try and play that persona off OOC too, it leads to dropping the RP more often than not. Seriously guys, you can have a strong male lead without making him a douchebag.

Raceplay/QoS : I have played characters of varying skin tones and ethnicities, so having someone fetishize them? That's a no from me chief. The same thing applies when dudes or QoS try playing the persona OOC too like they are enlightened and some sort of sex Demigod for realizing they have a certain preference not everyone may share.

Text Talk: IRP, used when characters are on their phone? Totally fine. IRP, in any other context? I'll pass.

Scat/Vore : Can't get the appeal, sorry.

See to me Role Playing is just that, immersing myself in the role of the character. I can write First Person but it is from the view of my character not myself. There is a distinction. I do find First Person can become a lot more realistic or dramatic too, which is why I think it worries some people.

Yes, that is an interesting way to see it, but the type of 1st person POV I was mainly referring to is the low-effort kind, where not only you have some clear self-inserting by the author but some Mary Sue/Gary Stu tendencies to go with it. I feel that's what pushes a lot of writers to adopt 3rd person, it helps them get detached from any unpleasant situations which may derive from the first example while driving plot and interactions forward.

Hrmmmmmmmm.

I can't say I 'hate' these but I don't like them.

'Hard' rape/noncon: I tried this once, just once, and it put me off that specific RP and the idea of it forever. Left a horrible taste in my mouth.

Raceplay: I have no issues with interracial stuff whatsoever. But when racism or racist elements get involved it leaves me cold very fast.

Jacakss doms: I don't like playing alphas who are cruel or abusive or what have you.

Probably a lot more as well but those are the ones I definitely dislike. If someone likes them I won't begrudge them or anything but it might make it so we're poor partners.

Contributing nothing to a game beyond demands and requirements. I don't know how people make this work.
Yep, the first thing I do when I open a Request Thread is bypass all of the rules and regulations, all of the generic pairing options and look for the plots. Oh.. you mean after scrolling through paragraphs of crap they don't actually have any ideas?!

I agree with everything said in the past few responses. And I'd like to add on. Non-specific kinks with no plots. Like someone says they're into D/s. Fair enough. Let's see if I can figure out what role from the plots. Oh. There are no plots or pairings. Moving on

I know I often do this to although I do care about people's preferences, and if I see a plot I like I'll certainly come back to and read them before messaging someone, but sometimes preferences can put me off. It's not necessarily about the details either but the tone. I do understand it. In the past I've probably written threads/intros where I came off like a drill sergeant barking rules and instructions. Some things do get frustrating dealing with them over and over, but I've found it makes no difference and you may as well keep it positive. You just have to accept that some things will happen, it's out of your control, and roll with it.

I do think some people put up vague request threads so people can PM them ideas without cold-calling. Though for me I wouldn't know what ideas to send in some cases.

For me a lack of ideas tends to mean that I will be carrying the plot/coming up with the ideas. It can also mean the person just wants a smut fest. In the end I want someone I can click with creatively and bounce ideas around with so it's critical for me.

I agree about some people trying to control things they just can't and it makes for overly tedious RT's. People will drop the RP, people can't always post every day or whatever.

I don't get the pairings only type RT's (or vague requests) it could be that all they want is smut so the plots around them might be obvious to them. For me I like twists and story so when I see "Teacher x Student" for example or "Client x Stripper" it makes me think of all sorts of things that might not suit what the person is after.

I never know what to do with pairings either. I mean I'm writing a teacher / student story right now and I know for a fact most role-players would have zero interest in this plot (which is why I'm writing it as a solo effort) but it is a 'teacher / student,' pairing. Even a little goes a long way in this context. Something as simple as, 'Delinquent, trouble-making student & straight-laced teacher,' engages my imagination so much more than the former.

The thing is general ideas cast a wide net and are far less likely to alienate people. I know ideas like mine in contrast alienate a lot of people and I'd get many more bites on my request thread if I just posted pairings.

I tend to go for less obvious story options as well and often like to reverse the usual roles. So Female Teacher x Male student, Female Photographer x Male Model etc. I also sometimes like the characters to be non traditional in some way so not every one is necessarily "hot looking" or physically perfect. I like some element of realism usually. And I love conflict and contrast.

I see lots of RT's that only have pairings but I am not sure how popular they are. I just assume that what is wanted is a generic smut fest between the two characters and their titles don't even matter because it is just sex. Like when people want Incest but there isn't anything special or any tension or taboo about it. Like, what's the point?

I know I am a niche market but I have also noticed original "Slice of Life" style plots making a comeback. People finally getting bored with Fandoms.

You probably would get more "bites" but then if you aren't going to be interested in what they want and what they are suggesting it becomes a waste of time.

I often like mixing things up like that as well. I do like characters to be attractive, although that's very subjective, but physical (and psychological) flaws are nice.

I'm sure people get something out of it, but I agree with you. To me that would feel very mechanical and pointless.

Yeah, that's the thing. I could also get more bites if I advertised for more popular set-ups but then I'd just be playing for it's own sake.

While there's a lot of kinks out there that just straight up aren't for me, there's really only two that I would say I hate.

The first is corruption in a sexual sense. This is a setup usually phrased as something like "MC (usually a male) gets involved with YC (usually a female) and (usually through the use of noncon/dubcon) gets her completely addicted to sex to the point she will do anything, no matter how humiliating, just to get laid." Now besides the fact that a setup like this is pretty much going to lead to a series of nothing but sex scenes, which isn't my bag, there's also a weird air of slut-shaming about it that rubs me the wrong way. The person being "corrupted" is usually virginal or inexperienced to begin with, and their "fall" is almost always portrayed as a bad thing; like it's sad or wrong that they should suddenly enjoy sex, regardless of how vanilla or kinky it is. This leads to the whole "virgin = good, non-virgin = bad" ideal that is just a huge hot mess with some seriously shitty repercussions on society.

But I'd be a lot more open to the idea of corruption if it was painted almost as a positive thing; for example, helping someone repressed embrace and celebrate their sexuality, maybe with some orgies or partner-swapping to help them figure out what they like? Or conversely if I'm in a particularly dark mood, maybe the negative aspects of corruption don't revolve around the victim becoming obsessed with sex (newsflash: no one's dick is that good), but the fact that they have a mental/emotional attachment to a person that makes them do horrible/illegal/immoral things outside of a sexual context. That's a way less offensive and more interesting setup, imo.

The second kink that annoys the shit out of me is milfs. Now I have no problem with playing as or against older female characters (in fact I would love an opportunity to play one as a real, well-developed character). But the problem is when most people want to play opposite an older woman, they're really looking for one of two setups:

1. A sex-starved cougar who will relentlessly pursue their character while they write 100% reactive posts
2. A "good girl" mother/housewife/teacher whom they can rape/seduce as some sort of punishment against the woman's child/spouse partner, or just for some other random D/S reason

I hate that older female characters are almost never allowed to be people, only sex objects. It's also worth acknowledging that older male characters do get some of the same treatment, but even when people do specifically want to play against older males I think part of the appeal is knowing more about the man's life, history, and experience, whereas with women...it's pretty much about the tits. And don't get me wrong, tits are great, but women are more than tits, you know?

Anyway, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Not really into corruption as it usually plays out in RP or Request Threads at all. There is always an element of force to it which doesn't appeal to me. I find it more interesting when the character consents to whatever is happening but is challenged by it all the same. I like exploring how characters deal with situations etc.

I played a young male character opposite a female "MILF" type and my partner (a female) just bypassed the slow burn that she agreed to and went straight for sex and not just sex but tawdry crap even though it didn't suit her character (or our discussion). MC was a young man who was good looking and stripper yet shy shy and well spoken and hers was meant to be a well to married woman. So when she had MC help her move a wardrobe so her character could retrieve a huge dildo and then grope him it was just a yawning deal breaker for me.

What I dislike about a lot of older female characters is the face claims that get used aren't even of older women they are women in their 20's.

I think in general life history and what makes the character or pairing special or taboo in some way goes out the window for RP'ers who just want smut. I always use Incest as a good example if the two characters are just going to have sex as if they were two strangers/non related people than what is the point? Same with age gap or teacher x student etc pairings if the taboo aspect isn't going to be explored, isn't going to be a challenge or source of conflict in some way than why bother?

And yes, women are more than tits, we have vagina's too 🤪 ....

.... is that a knock on the door I hear from the local Feminazi militia...

My top ones

Hyper anything-where do they think that foot plus long dongle is going?

Bad non con- I like non con but I do HATE bad non con, as in one character acts like a sex doll or the lay there and do nothing but cry and whine or enjoy it.

Scat/anything that belongs in the bathroom

Human only rp- just so boring to me

Sticking animal ears and tails on a human. Looks so silly to me
