Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 4) WF+GF

“I’m exhausted and in more pain than I have ever been in before.” She said softly. But seeing her babies made it worth it.

“I don’t even know.” She laughed and looked up at Jake. “I wanted O names. We rifled through a bunch of them until we got Oliver. That was easy. I knew I was having boys. I was picking boys names. But then we didn’t know what the other name should be. I liked Oak. Oakley for a girl.” She explained.

“I don’t know if I’m sold on Oakley. It does sound good though. Owen, Oliver and Oakley.” She yawned and closed her eyes.

“You need to eat dinner and then you can go to bed.” Her mother said and waved a plate in front of Adri. It was the sandwiches from the baby shower and some chips. Adri dozed off for a few minutes and didn’t realize it. Maria handed Jake a water bottle to hold for Adri.

"What can I do to help?" Jake asked her. He hated she was hurting but knew it was to be expected. Especially with twins and no pain meds. "Did the doula or midwife you pain meds? I can run to the pharmacy."

Jake looked at her confused. "Wait what?! You're not sold on Oakley?! I don't think we can change it now. Owen even thinks it's Oakley."

He held the water bottle and let Adri sleep against him. He would carrying her upstairs if he thought it would help her rest. But if he moved to get up, she'd probably wake up. If she was gonna sleep against him, he'd let her and not move. Instead, he snuggled into her and kissed her temple.

Snuggling against her, he realized how tired he was too. It was nice they had family staying with them so they both could get some sleep.

“I took pain meds after my shower. I’m still in pain though.” She shrugged her shoulder to Oakley, “We can change it. We haven’t filed the paper work yet.” She smiled.

The next few weeks were a flurry of diaper changed and breast or bottle feeding. They had a ton of help to get them through their first month with three kids. They barely had to lift a finger. When the doctor gave her the go ahead, Adri was back in the gym doing light stuff with a trainer to get the baby weight off.

Owen took a lot of time readjusting to the new additions. The fits and outbursts were more frequent. Even with daycare, it was a lot when he came home. Adri like sending him to the gym with daddy to work out some energy and aggression. About a month later he settled into his new role as big brother. Helping with diaper changes and bottles and tummy time.

The babies were both healthy. Oliver was a little smaller than Oakley, but that was expected. They are like champs and hit all of their milestones. Screamed as loud as possible and had the grossest diapers, but Adri was so in love she didn’t care.

They managed to introduce the twins to everybody and still not have it leak to the press. Their luck would only last so long. Jake’s documentary was almost in the final stages. Adri wanted to be premier ready when Jake got a date. She also had to do a mini tour with her make up line since it was launching in Sephora. She’d travel to New York, LA and Vegas for that.

It was all nerve racking. But her first thought was all about the babies. She didn’t want them to be leaked. And it was hard deciding how to tell the world. They had video footage of the baby shower that they could throw into the documentary. And Vogue wanted to do a cover shoot which would include Owen and Jake, they didn’t know about he twins. But that felt like she was using them for sales.

They needed a plan. Her manager was set on Vogue. It was a good time for it with the make up line and Adri coming back into the spotlight. But there was more freedom in doing the documentary and showing the pregnancy and the baby shower at the end.

They could do both, but the question became which would come out first. Which started arguments between her manager and Jake’s manager.

“What do you want to do?” She asked Jake. “Do you have a date yet?” The twins were born August 24. It was the first week of October. Vogue wanted them on the cover of the December issue, but they needed an answer now.

Jake was stressing out about the documentary and the babies and Vogue. He felt wrong having them in a magazine. They didn't have Owen in one when he was born. It was months before they even showed his face.

"The week before Thanksgiving. There isn't much that they predict is going to do well that weekend in theaters. Babe...I think if you want to do Vogue, you should. I just don't know if I feel comfortable having them in a magazine so soon. We took months to even share Owen's face. They can finish the doc so it's the same thing for the twins..." He suggested.

"Want all of us to travel with you to LA for your little tour?" He asked her. It would be hard to take twins to New Yorks and LA but then again, Adri may not want to travel without them.

Jake wad helping with the editing and creative look on the entire documentary. He was doing voice overs to basically have commentary. They also had some footage of him just sitting down and talking, explaining things. He had one of the best up and coming editors and producers involved. Jake also put some of his own money into the doc.

“They want you and Owen in it too though. Not just me. If it was just me, I wouldn’t be worried about them.” She told him. “I get the cover, but it’s a family spread. For Christmas.” She explained.

“I can’t leave them.” She said and looked at the twins sleeping in their bassinets. “But traveling with them is going to be hectic. I don’t want to hide them every time we go somewhere. We can do the shoot in a way that hides their face. We can show their hands and feet and little butts.” She smiled.

“I don’t want to fight paparazzi. We can ask for privacy. Look at Beyoncé and JayZ. They had twins. The world knew about them and no one ever sees them. It’s the same concept. We are telling the world what we want them to know and then the rest is up to us. Are you showing them in the documentary? Or just telling the world that I had them?” She asked.

Jake loved holding the babies when he could. They'd grow up fast and want nothing to do with dad so he took all the time he could with them. It was good though to let them have alone time too. He watched them sleep and sighed. "I'm fine with showing them but not their faces. I think we do that in our own way like we did Owen. And any other kids we may have." He told her.

"They are small enough right now we can place blankets over their carriers.

His hand rubbed her leg. He shook his head. "I wasn't going to show their faces. Just Owen's since the world knows him already." Jake looked at her. "Are we sharing we got married with the world on the documentary?" He asked. "Only our friends and family know..."

Adri looked at Jake but didn’t say anything to having more kids. It was too early for all of that.

“That’s for now. We could still get swarmed and all we have is Liam and the nanny. That’s everyone’s hands full and Liam trying to keep cameras away from all of us? I’m not comfortable with that.”

She nodded her head, “Okay. That makes sense. No faces, even though they’re cutest faces.” She reached over and rubbed Oliver’s cheek. “We can if you want.” She smiled at him. “I don’t mind.”

She ran her fingers through his hair and scratched the back of his head. She looked at her watch and looked at Jake, “Do you want me to pick up O from daycare? I could use some time out. Will you be okay with them?”

Jake didn't mean they needed more kids now or even at all. Just a hypothetical. He was beyond happy with the three they had. Adri got her girl and boy so he kind of imagined she'd be done.

"And we care hire another security guy. I'd like to anyway. Or two. Liam is yours. But I'd like to get one for the kids. I can handle myself but if I'm pushing a stroller it's harder to react. I'm sure Liam knows some guys who'd he great for this. Or we can talk to other famous parents with what they did or who they had." Jake suggested.

He nodded. "I think that makes the most sense. Then we aren't selling them to a magazine or using them for money for the documentary. We can keep it consistent with what we did with Owen." Jake stopped a moment and pouted. "I can't call him O anymore. We have three Os." He sighed.

"Baby, I'm ready to tell the world we are married. I'm ready to address you everywhere as my wife." He smiled at her. Her hand through his hair felt nice. His eyes closed a bit. "I can stay with them babe. Go take a break. Grab a coffee or something if you want." He kissed her cheek.

“Yeah we should have another. We can go through the same company we hired Liam from.” She told him.

She laughed softly, “Yes we can. O, Oli and Oak.” She smiled. “Or Ley.” She shrugged.

“Then tell the world baby.” She agreed and kissed him softly. She got off the couch so she could put some real clothes on. She went through her jeans and picked out a nice slim pair and a flowy button up tshirt to hide what belly she did have left. She put her up in a ponytail and a little bit of eyeliner and lipstick.

She came downstairs and smiled at Jake. “I feel great.” She kissed his cheek. “They will need to eat when they wake up. There is enough milk in the fridge.” She told him. She had been pumping when they weren’t eating and building up a healthy excess.

“I might take O on a little Target date. This has been harder for him than we thought. I need some one on one time with my guy.” She told him and grabbed her purse. “Call me if they’re too fussy. We will come home.”

"I'd like that. I'd like to pick someone together. Especially if their main focus is the kids. Unless we have Liam handle the kids and get someone else for you." He suggested.

"That's true. They can all have their nicknames. We have to dress the twins up as Thing 1 and Thing 2 for Halloween." He chuckled. "They'd look cute..."

Jake kissed her back. "Okay. I will. We may need to get a quick clip or interview of you talking about the wedding and being married to me." He wiggled his eyebrows at her with a grin.

While she got ready, Jake made up some lifting exercises and workouts. He wanted to make a binder so people had time to go through to pick something to do. Jake couldn't wait to get moved in to the new house. When Adri came down, he smiled at her. "You look good baby."

"Take your time babe. We will be fine. As long as they don't both wake up at the same time or feedings in their boppies is gonna happen." He chuckled. "I love you baby, but I'm not calling you. Enjoy your time. Have fun with O."

“And O can be the cat in the hat.” Adri smiled. “Those would be adorable pictures. I think he wants to go trick or treating as a cowboy, but we can do some cute pictures like that. And can be those kids that they come and visit.” She laughed.

“Whatever you need.” She told him.

“Thank you.” She smiled. “I still look pregnant though.” She raised her shirt and turned to the side. “I gotta get rid of that before Vogue. Before anything.” She grabbed her keys and purse and kissed her babies goodbye.

It was hard saying goodbye even if it was for an hour or two. “Call me if they need me.” She said again and kissed his forehead.

She went to pick up Owen who was excited that his mommy came to pick him up again. She got him buckled up in his car seat and listened to him talk about his day. He was much better at talking now since he was learning from other kids and the teachers.

They went on their trip to target and since Jake wasn’t calling her, she checked the cameras to make sure the twins were okay. She and Owen walked around and it him some new shoes and clothes and they walked the toy section and he picked out a new toy. They finished it off with a trip to Starbucks to get cake pops and they went home.

They came home and Owen ran into the house in search of Jake with a Starbucks bag that had a cakepop for him.

Adri, knowing the babies were up because she was watching the cameras went straight to them and said hello and tickled their bellies.

"Ohhh Cat in the Hat. That would be cute." Jake agreed with a nod. "He wants to be a cowboy? That's cool. We could do that too. We could make one of the babies a chick or a cow." He grinned.

"Adriana, you look beautiful. You'll get back to where you were. Don't worry." He smiled at her and kissed her cheek.

"We will be fine...." He reassured her with a chuckle. "I got this babe. Don't worry. Love you."

Jake let the babies sleep until they fussed for food. It was nice he could feed one at a time and then let them just hang out in their bassinets. They enjoyed being close. Oakley fussed a bit and wanted held so of course daddy had to hold his little girl. She seemed to just love laying on him and looking around. He rubbed her back.

When Owen came running in, Max got up to see him. Jake smiled at Owen. "Hey buddy. What did you get me?"

"Cake pop! Babies can't have one. They too little." He smiled and climbed up next to Jake to see Oak and kiss her head. He was so gentle with both of them. He even whispered to them when he talked to them.

Jake looked at Adri. "How many times did you spy on us?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

Adri stuck her tongue out, “Long enough to know you’ve been holding her for the past twenty minutes and you haven’t picked up my Olipop since changed his diaper.” She told him and picked up Oliver.

“Hello my baby boy.” She said to Oliver and rubbed his cheek. “Olipop. Olipop.” She sang and bounded him back and forth.

“You didn’t call.” She said softly. “So I had to check. How much did they eat?” She asked Jake.

“I can feel all that milk in your belly.” She told Oli and got him to smile. She sat next to Jake. “What’s for dinner?”

Jake raised an eyebrow at Ollie's nickname. "First of all, she fussed. Our son did not. It's not my fault Oak is needy and likes laying on my chest. It makes her happy."

He looked at Adri when she mentioned him not calling. "I didn't call because I had it handled. There was nothing you needed to rush home for. Why do you not have faith in me and our babies?" Jake thought a second. "Oakley had almost three ounces. Oliver almost 3.5 ounces."

"I thought she looks tasty." Jake pretended to eat Oakley's hand. She just watched him and pulled her hand back. He chuckled. "I can make some salmon, rice and vegetables." He suggested as Owen sat on the floor with Max.

Adri laughed at his reasoning. “Whatever you say daddy. You couldn’t wait for her to need you. She probably wasn’t even crying. She grunting because she had gas.” She smiled.

“I have faith in you. They’re just so little. They need me. I feel bad for leaving.”

“I don’t know if he will eat it. Will you make some chicken nuggets for him? He didn’t like salmon the last I tried to give it to him. He gave it to Rocky and Bam instead.” She made a face and shook her head.

“How was your day?” She asked him. “How was your workout earlier? Ready to move into the new place?”

"No. She had tears. Full on tears. She was crying. Check the camera recording..." He told her. "It wasn't gas...jerk." He rolled his eyes. "You're just jealous cause she gets more cuddles than you do now." He kissed the baby's head and rubbed her back.

Jake looked at Adri. "Honey, you were only gone a couple of hours. They will be okay."

"I figured he probably wouldn't eat the fish but the rice and vegetables. So yeah I can make chicken nuggets or even a chicken breast for him."

He nodded. "Yeah, my day has been good. The workout was pretty good. I am ready to get moved in. I like the idea of having everything right there. That way if you or the kids need me I'm there." He chuckled. "Oh wow, the way things have changed. Remember when I first met you when you came in to the gym for the job and I told you not to interrupt a workout?" He laughed. "Now, I'm wanting to be close incase you need me." His jaw dropped. "What have you done to me?!" He teased but leaned over and kissed her softly.

Adri laughed and shook her head, “I’m not jealous. I think it’s adorable.”

Adri looked at Owen, “Hey Owen do you want fish, chicken nuggets or chicken breast?” She asked him letting him have the choice. But the choice was a resounding nuggets.

“I broke you down. Just like I was supposed to.” She teased and kissed him back. She set Oliver down on his tummy so he and Owen could play. Owen remembered he got a new toy and ran to get it. Adri opened it for him and let the boys play.

She held her hands out for Oakley and she fussed a little bit but she needed tummy time too she was on the ground next. Adri leaned against Jake and watched their kids play.

“When do you want to move? Everything is ready and I’m ready to now. We gotta get out of here and put this place on the market.”

"I think you're a little jealous." He held up his thumb and finger to show just a little bit.

Jake nodded. "No one saw that one coming. I swear he would have nuggets all day every day. Breakfast and dinner." He chuckled and shook his head.

"I don't think anyone saw it coming though. I'm sure you didn't. You thought I was the biggest pain in the ass." He chuckled and watched her with the babies and Owen.

When she leaned into him, he kissed her head and wrapped his arm around her. "We can do it this weekend if you want. Or whenever the movers can come. I'm ready too. I want to sell this place as soon as we can. There isn't a reason to pay for two houses." He rubbed her leg.

"I should get up and start dinner but I'm enjoying this." The babies just laid on the floor and Owen laid next to them with his toy. The dogs moving up on the couch except for Max laying close to the kids.

“You were and are the biggest pain in the ass.” She laughed. “But I’ve broken most of your bad habits. The only one I can’t seem to break is how hangry you get. You are my fourth child. I have a snack in my bag at all times just for you.” She teased.

“Let’s get these babies to their new home. We aren’t taking any furniture. We just need to pack clothes. I had them move your suits and stuff but I need you to go through your everyday stuff and figure out what you’re keeping and donating.”

She rubbed his legs and sat with him for a little bit longer. “I’m getting hungry.” She patted his thigh. “Food please.” She slid on to the floor to play with Owen.

Jake laughed and shrugged. "If you burn as many calories as I do on a regular, you'd get hangry too. And when you were pregnant, you would get hangry. Scary hangry." He chuckled. "Now you have four of us who get hangry. Owen is pretty bad." Jake made a face like he knew it was partially his fault.

"And we have our personal stuff too. I know some got moved but not all of it. I guess we could get some of it ourselves but I just figured it would be easier to hire someone." He nodded to going through his clothes. "How many of my cut off shirts do you want?" Jake smiled. "I have some I want to keep and new ones I've made."

Jake sighed and stole a kiss and butt pat before getting up. He turned on some music as he started to get dinner ready. After they got moved he figured it would he time to start cutting weight to switch weight classes. It would take time to cut and maintain and then train.

"Hey baby? Who should we have design or docu premiere outfits?"

“Well these two aren’t burning as many calories as you are. They just like to scream and drive mommy crazy. Owen…Owen might burning as many calories as you.” She laughed. “I think I want to put him in Tee-ball. Because those outfits are adorable. And you can put him in karate during the off season. He needs something to get that energy out.”

Adri smiled, “I have all of the shirts I could possibly want of yours. Even some cool signed ones.” She smirked. “Some you signed, some I signed for you.”

She shrugged her shoulder, “Depends on what you want. You want a nice suit? I think you’d look good in a deep red suit with a black shirt. Black shoes. Nice watch. Do you want to go small designer or big designer? Is Owen going with us? Do you want him to match?” She asked.

"Yeah and they scream louder than I do. But Owen may give them a run for their money..." Jake watched Owen. "Tee-ball? I don't know...he will get bored in the outfield. We can't just sign our kids up for the cute uniform sports." He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "What about flag football. He loves to run."

He rolled his eyes. "You steal my cut off ones all the time to wear...Which you look hot in."

Jake thought about her idea of the deep red and black. "I like that idea. I think it would be nice publicly to get someone big but my whole story is story is about how I started. I kind of want to find someone no one really knows. Maybe someone from Colorado. I could help someone else maybe get started and get their name out." Jake shrugged. "What are your thoughts. You're the fashion one of this family."

Jake finished up Owen's nuggets and leg them cool with some rice and veggies. Then he set the table and put their food on the table. "Dinner is ready fam."

“I don’t know about that. I think he will like hitting the ball and running. Maybe he’s a secret pitcher. He does like to throw things now.” A nasty habit he picked up at daycare, but they were correcting it. “I don’t know about football. Even flag football. I don’t want him hooked to a concussion sport.”

Adri liked the idea of a designer from Colorado. They could hire someone to do a quick scout for them to get Jake a nice tailored suit. “I will see what my stylist can find.” She smiled.

Adri picked the twins up from the floor and set them in their loungers so they could see what was happening or be rocked to sleep, if they were lucky. She helped Owen into a chair sat next to him.

Adri got two bites in when Oakley started to cry. She got up and tried the pacifier to see if she would take it but that made it worst. She picked her up and rocked her. Her diaper was dry.

“She ate three ounces?” She asked Jake. She could be hungry but Oliver usually got hungry first.

“Dinner time for everybody I guess.” She sat and sat back down at the table and fed Oakley while she ate herself. She watched Oliver and just waited for him to start too. She knew it was coming.

Jake understood her fear of a concussion sport. "But flag football has no hitting baby. I think honestly we should let him try different sports and let him find what he likes. Maybe we will be a swimmer or just a runner. Or artistic." Jake shrugged.

"I think I want the inside lining to have something meaningful on it. Like maybe pics in the docu and of our family. Maybe baby pics then my first UFC fight card. My championship. Our wedding. Our babies." He shrugged. "Or maybe something else. Help me with ideas babe." Jake loved that Adri was always full of creative ideas."

As they sat and ate, he watched her get up to get Oakley, where he just smiled and shook his head at her before confirming how much she had. "Yep. I like how she fussed and you grabbed her yet gave me a hard time for holding her..." He just smiled and grabbed a few bites if food. Owen smashed his nuggets in ketchup before shoving it in his mouth. Jake watched him and shook his head. "Smaller bites please."

"I can grab Oliver if he fusses and I can keep him happy until you're ready for him..." He suggested. "I think sometimes they want you more than the bottle. Can't blame them. Those rascals took my favorite spot..."

"Do you feel up to seeing if you're parents can babysit for an evening so we can maybe go on a date? Or do you not want to leave them yet?" He asked.

“I don’t know about swimming. He only likes the pool when he can jump into daddy’s arms.” She said. “I don’t know if running would be entertaining to him at this age. He does want to be just like you though. Maybe we put him in karate. Get him started. He can practice with you. He would love it I’m sure.”

Adri smiled, “That would be nice. You can do a collage on the back even, if you want people to see it. If the pictures are small enough no one will see the twins faces. And then do a bigger version of the collage on the inside. The collage could be a heart or your logo or your name. That would be nice.” She agreed.

“That was her hungry cry and you know it.” She pointed her fork at him but laughed.

“Don’t be a third baby. You’ll get them back after you pay for my boob job. I might even go up a cup and give you something to play with.” Adri smiled.

“Can’t we take them on our date?” She asked and looked down at Oakley. “They’re so little.” She said and stroked her cheek. “And you’re just happy the six week check up came back clean and you get to get all grabby again. You better not get me pregnant back to back. I’ll cash in your life insurance.” She warned.
