Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 4) WF+GF

Adri was on the couch with a cup of water by the time Jake, Nick and Owen came into the house. She raised her hands at Jake. It was annoying at first. She could do things on her own. But she understood the fear. She was dizzy when she stood and he didn’t want to be the one to have to tell Jake something happened. Now she was used to it. It was nice having someone do everything for her.

When Cody saw who Nick was he stared at him for a moment and then immediately asked for an autograph. If Adri wanted her food in a reasonable time, she needed to get it now. She scooted to the edge of the bed, and then stood up. She took a moment to make sure she was okay and then went to get her food.

“Did you have fun?” She asked Jake And pulled out one of the burgers. She took a huge bite and while she was chewing rubbed her belly. “Have you see the thing where the baby daddy holds the belly up from behind the mama. that would be nice. Release some pressure from my back. Please!“
 
Jake felt bad that Cody was staring at Nick and wanted an autograph. But Nick was nice and didn't mind. He even gave Jake crap and asked if he asked for Jake's autograph. Jake looked at Nick, "He has it. When I sign his girlfriend's paycheck." He joked and shook his head.

"Why did you put your hands up at me?" Jake asked Adri softly and shook his head to what she was talking about. "But I'll try it." He moved behind her and tried holding her stomach up. "Is this what you mean? Is it helping?" It was awkward and a bit heavy but if it did help, he'd do it.

"Are you going to make my food cold cause I'm doing this?" He teased and chuckled.
 
“Because I don’t know why Cody was going above and beyond. But he’s been doing that since you’ve been gone. And I feel like you should do that for me. Get me water and snacks. And rub my feet and ankles, Cody didn’t do that, but you can.” She smiled.

She nodded her head to him helping, “That actually feels really good.” She said softly and put her head back on his shoulder. “Shut up and hold it for a little bit longer.” She enjoyed not having pressure on her back for a few moments longer and then let him release it.

She went back to eating her burger. “Are you ready for the party?” She asked him. “Hair and makeup is coming at two. Party is supposed to start at four, but we will see. Party doesn’t start until we get there.” She laughed. “He needs a nap though.”
 
"I've waited on you hand and foot since we found out. Don't even play. I rubbed your feet anytime you asked as well. Ankles no. But not sure if you've asked." He shook his head.



He chuckled when she basically yelled at him. "I just want to point out, I have a witness of how mean you are to me right now. And when you deliver those babies and you see how cute they are, you'll be thanking me cause half of those good looking genes came from me." He chuckled. "Let me eat and I'll do it again as you sit and watch tv." Jake kissed her shoulder and head. "Don't ever say I didn't do anything for you..."



Jake grabbed his burger and fries. "I'm not ready. I'm glad hair and make up is coming. LA ruined my hair... Nick wouldn't take me to his hair guy." He teased and smiled. "Do you have my clothes set out or do I need to figure out what I'm wearing?"



"Owen or Nick needs a nap?" Jake smiled as he took a bite. Nick raised his hand as if he needed one.
 
“Clothes are in the bed. I kept it simple though.” She told him. White linen shirt for him and O and khaki shorts. She was going to keep it simple as well in a white dress that hit mid thigh. She thought about wearing a nice long dress, but it was so hot she went with something short and cute. She had to wear shorts under it though because it was a little too short in the front.

“I need you to put him down for a nap.”take him for a walk with the dogs and he will wear himself out.” She said but it was a request. If he didn’t do it, she would try to get him to lay down in his own. There was a lot of excitement in his little mind so he may not take a nap at all.

She managed to eat half of the burger and then she was done. She sipped on her shake a few times and then put it in the freezer.

“Maybe I need a nap.” She said and automatically yawned.
 
"Okay cool. Thanks babe." Jake was fine it was something fairly simple. With as hot as it is, he may sweat if he's outside a lot.

Jake looked at Adri when she said she needed him to take Owen for a walk. He just got home and wanted to relax a bit before the party but he could he figured once Owen was down. Jake gave her a nod. "Alright...whatever you need babe."

He finished his burger and fries. And just relaxed a bit while he finished his shake. "I'll need a little to let this settle before I take him on a walk."

He looked at Adri. "Do I need to take you for a walk too?"
 
”Thank you.“ She said to him agreeing to take Owen for a walk. It’s not like it was hard. In half a block those little legs were going to get worn out. If he was carried home, he’d be out in not time. “Take the dogs too they could use an energy release.“ she said and rubbed her lower back.

“You’re so funny. Take Nick.“ She told him. “if you want company.“

She finished her burger and threw the wrappers away. She only ate half of her fries though. She took her shake and sat on the couch. She could take a little power nap while they were gone and then get her hsir and make up done for the party.
 
Jake just looked at Adri a moment and then looked at Nick. "I just got home and brought you with me and now she's wanting us both gone. Do you feel a bit slighted? Maybe we should go back to LA?" He teased.

"I totally feel hurt. No running towards us at the airport. You barely even got a kiss man." Nick added. "I know it hasn't been long you were gone but man..." He made a face."

"Right?!" He chuckled and shook his head.

When Nick and Owen were ready, they got the dogs ready and they all but Adri headed out for a walk. Owen was made to hold Jake's hand which he wasn't thrilled about at all. "Dude. You have to hold my hand. I don't need you running into traffic." When he was able to walk close to Max, he held Jake's hand as they walked.

"Did you and Mommy have fun while I was gone?" He asked Owen.

"Yeah. Max too!" He told him.

Jake chuckled. "Max had fun too?" Owen nodded.

"You know mommy has a big party planned today. Are you excited to celebrate the babies?" Jake asked Owen.

"My babies!" He smiled proud.

"Your baby siblings yes." They kept walking for a couple blocks then Jake picked him up and carried him while he got tired. By the time they made it back to the house. The girls were slowing down and Owen was asleep in Jake's arms.
 
While they were gone Adri took the quickest of naps on the couch. She closed her eyes for like ten minutes and she was back up because the doorbell rang. She opened the opened the door and let her make up artist and hair stylists in. They knew where to go set up but they had to say hi to the babies first.

By the time the guys got back Adri was showered and in the process of starting hair and make up. They wouldn’t take long to get ready so they had the whole downstairs to do what they wanted.

The party planner was keeping her in the loop about everything that was going on at the new house. The caterers were there, the chef was cooking, decorations were in place. They were waiting on the DJ and the punch bags filled with the gender reveal powder.

Adri felt strangely relaxed about the whole thing. The baby and dogs were walked. She could relax and have fun at the party, but not too much fun because she didn’t want the twins making a surprise entrance at the party.
 
Jake laid Owen down to finish his nap. He'd get him cleaned up and changed when he woke up. Jake could get a quick nap too. It had been a long week.

He sat in his chair as Nick was on the couch. They all took a quick power nap and when they woke up, they felt rejuvenated. Jake went up to their room get his clothes and get changed before Owen woke up. Nick went to the spare room to get ready as well.

Once Jake was dressed, he went in to check on Adri. "How's it coming in here mama?" He asked and smiled at Adri.
 
“Almost done.” Her hairstylist said and her make up artist was putting the final lipstick touches. Then she’d have to get dressed and she’d be ready to party. Owen would get a little trim and they could get him dressed but since he was a dirt magnet, that would be the last thing they did for him.

“We are fine.” She said about her and the babies. “Tired but fine.” And not being able to drink caffeine was not helping. “I took a nap before this but these two are energy suckers.” She laughed.

“Everything is coming alone for the party too. The punching bags just made it. Just waiting for the DJ.” She told him. “People will start arriving within the hour and then we can head out.”
 
Jake stole a couple of kisses before they put her lipstick on. He knew he wouldn't get as much afterward cause he could never screw up that makeup. She looked amazing already and she wasn't even in her outfit yet. His hand went to her stomach, where his thumb caressed her. "Yeah sorry about the energy sucking. They probably get that bit from me." He chuckled and kissed her cheek and then her stomach twice.

"About the punching bags...can I kick one or both of them? Or is it a punch-only kind of thing? If I do kick them will my shorts split?" He laughed. "I just know my wife likes my signature kick..."

"Nick is dressed. I'm dressed. Just waiting for O. I'll get him already. You save your energy for the party. Holler if I can or need to do anything. I'm going to let Owen sleep as much as he can. Do you care if I drink a little today? I know you can't so I don't want to be rude, but Nick got me a couple new bottles of bourbon that I want to try."
 
”You can kick it if you want. Luke might have to weigh it down. Tell him to look at it before you do too much.“ She told him.

She lifted her hands indifferently. “Go for it. Don’t get drunk. I’ve been up all week. I’m hoping to get a little bit of sleep tonight. That means you’re up with Owen if he gets up. It’s my only request.“ She said softly.

When he went downstair, Adri got finished up with hair and make up. Her make up artists stayed upstairs to help her in the dress. She wasn’t supposed to be in heels for too long but she wore a pair of platforms and has crocs to change into with cute jibbitz that said ma and ma on both shoes. She had a cute little pearl purse and she was ready.

When she got to the bottom of the stairs she felt it and gasped in shock. She leaned against the banister. She breathed it out and when the tension went away, she stood back up. “Not today.“ She told the babies and sighed. She walked over to the boys and sat on the couch.
 
Jake nodded to having Luke look at it. "I can do that. I can punch them if I have to. I just know you like my kick."

"That's fine. I can handle Owen. He loves hanging out with Uncle Nick." He joked. "You know dad would have taken him if you needed rest baby..." He told her.

When Owen woke up, Jake got him dressed but left his white shirt off of him until they were about ready to walk out the door. He got hit hair done nice too which Owen liked because it was like daddy's. He sat and watched TV while they waited for Adri to be ready.

Jake looked her over. "Damn baby. You look good. You look beautiful." He kissed her cheek. "Are ready to go? I can get his other shirt on and shoes." His hand rubbed her leg.
 
“It’s fine. I’m going to have three soon. I might as well try to juggle them while I can.” She said and rubbed her bottom side of her stomach.

Adri smiled and kissed his cheek back. “Thank you. You look good too.” She smiled. “He can stay shirtless until we get to the party and take the first pictures. Then he can do what he wants.” She looked at her watch and nodded her head, “It’s time to party.”

She got up as ladylike as she could and walked to the front door. “Are you driving?” She asked Jake. She could drive if she had to but she didn’t want to.

She walked with Owen to the car and he climbed up to his seat enough for Adri to wiggle him into his spot and buckle him up. He was getting much better at doing most of what he had to do so all Adri had to do was finish up. He was even grabbing her shoes for her or purse or whatever she pointed at. He was a big helper. Adri loved it. When he was buckled in, she got in the passenger seat. Then she realized if they were drinking tonight, she’d be driving them home. That was fine, she’d manage.
 
Owen ran over to Adri and smiled at her. He laid his head on her belly. "My babies." His head moved her stomach. "Pretty mama!" He smiled proudly like he was the one who got her all pretty. Jake laughed and shook his head. "We are in trouble.

Jake nodded at her. "Yeah I'll drive baby." He grabbed the keys and made sure she was good with Owen before getting in. He drove to the new house. Nick hadn't seen the house except for pictures. Jake was excited to see the work since he had been in LA. He was ready to move in and be done with it.

"Nick you're gonna love this place. The gym is freaking amazing. You'll want to work out there before you go back, I'm telling you." Jake explained.

Jake pulled into the driveway and parked as close to the house he could. He got out and opened the door for Adri. When she got out, he gave her a quick peck. "Mrs. Daniels..." He loved calling her that. Nick grabbed Owen for them. "Jake held Adri's hand as they walked in. The entire place looked amazing. She knew who to call to put on a party that was for sure.
 
Adri smiled at Jake and wiggled out of her seat on to the driveway. “Thank you Mr Daniels.” She said and squeezed his hand. Owen maneuvered out of Nick’s hold and ran to Adri and grabbed her hand. She squeezed his little hand.

“Are you ready to party?” She asked him and tickled his chin.

Adri saw renderings of what the house would look like decorated for the baby shower, but seeing it in person was breathtaking. A lot of the guests were already there. The photographer was getting Adri’s first glimpse of the space.

She was all smiles and she had to wipe her eyes a bit because she teared up. It was everything she wanted. “It’s so pretty.”

The house was mostly done. They could move in right away if they wanted. But Adri wanted it to be done done before they moved in. And she didn’t want Owen around any power tools. They were also comfortable at the old house so that’s where she wanted to give birth and spend a few days there with the twins before moving into their new home.
 
Jake really didn't know what to expect but he liked it. "Did you decide on the colors?" He asked and kissed her cheek. "I love it all babe. It looks nice. You definitely know how to throw a party."

He said hi to some guests and thanked the planners and photographers. Then he saw her family and his and went over to say hi to them. Jake said hi to Amy, Luke and the baby. Owen loved his little cousin but had to be reminded he's little yet. Their family was pretty split on what gender the babies were.

The punching bags looked cool. Jake loved the set up. He couldn't wait to bust them. "Is that going to get all over my clothes? The powder?"

"Baby I'm going to go do a quick look around with Nick. If that's okay? I want to see the progress since I've been gone." He kissed her cheek. "I'll take Owen with me too so he's busy for a bit."
 
“I said keep it neutral.” She told him. And the teddy bears were the perfect theme. Who didn’t like cuddly teddy bears?

“Probably will. I think they have something for you to put on over your clothes though. Im more worried about the pool. I don’t want the dye to screw up the filters or anything. I want them moved out more.” She said, but got distracted saying hi to friends and having her belly rubbed.

“No shoes in the nursery. Everything is clean and sanitized, so try not to touch anything either.” She asked. She smiled when he kissed her cheek and went back to saying hi to guests.

She took a seat with some close friends and relaxed, while her father brought her food to snack on and drinks.
 
Jake didn't know anyone who could throw a better party. He knew Adri and the planners spent a lot of time working on every detail. She could easily design parties or help plan them. When she mentioned something for his clothes. They had no idea they were actually fight shorts and a rash guard shirt, both white but hoped to stain the colors of the genders.

With her worried about the pool, he told one of the planners to see if they could move it or what they could to. Jake could just close the cover for the reveal but for the photos it would look better with it opened.

Jake gave Nick the tour. They only opened the door to look in the nursery. He also didn't want go just give tours to everyone so they didn't stay there very long. The part he thought Nick would like was the bar and then the gym. "I'm not going to lie man, I love this gym here. I like we can have the team come here. I can be close for the babies." Jake was proud of the home gym. "I have some ideas to spice it up but it's great already." Owen ran around othe ring as Jake and Nick talked. "So anytime you need to train main...come out here." Jake told Nick.

Nick loved the house but also loved there was room for him to stay too. The guys headed back and Jake saw Adri who looked so happy, which made him happy. Owen ran over to Adri. "Mommy! I play in ring!" He told her, getting slightly better with his words. Owen saw her food, "Bite pweeze?" He asked and gave the baby's a hug by laying his head on her belly.

Jake walked over. "O let's get you your own food." He leaned over and kissed Adri. "You good?"
 
Adri stayed with the party and mingled with her guests. She mostly stayed seating because it was easier but she did get up a few times to take pictures. She needed pictures with Owen and Jake but they were touring with Nick.

Adri smiled at Owen and rubbed his chin. “Did you? Did you knock daddy out?” She asked and tapped his nose. She gave him a bite of watermelon because it was the cleanest.

“Can we take pictures really quick?” She kissed Jake back and nodded to being okay. She pointed to the flower wall. It would have be really quick if Owen was hungry. “pictures and then you can have a big piece of cake later.” She promised Owen.

She walked with Jake and O towards the flowers so they could get some good pictures of them together as a family. Then just her and Jake and her and Owen. Once those were done Owen was free to eat.

“Did you like the house?” She asked Jake. “Did Nick?” she rubbed her back and sighed.

“They’re going to play some games and then you will punch the bags.”
 
Owen looked at Adri when she asked if he knocked daddy out just nonchalantly says, "Yeah." Jake made a face. "I never even got in with you goof." Jake's eyes shifted to the flower wall. "Sure. Good idea to get pictures first."

"The house looks great babe." Jake smiled and rubbed her back. Nick smiled and nodded. "He love the spare rooms. And the gym of course." He smiled. "I told him he could stay anytime..."

Jake had Owen get pictures with Adri first, then he jumped in to get whole family pictures. Then they let Owen run around with John so Jake and Adri could get a few photos. Jake had his hand on her stomach a lot per the photographers suggestion.

After the photos, Jake looked at Adri before grabbing a plate of food. "Games? What kind of games?"

After stopping by her parents and telling them hello and just checking in, he grabbed food. He thought he'd get a plate while he could and tried hard not to get food on the white shirt. John helped Owen with his food.
 
“Baby shower games.” She shrugged with a laugh. “They asked for our baby baby pictures. And they’re setting up a relay race of sorts. That’s all I know.” She told him.

For the next hour they were able to eat and mingle with guests. Take pictures with guests and have a good time. A few party attendants passed around papers that asked for baby advice and what they think the future will hold for the baby.

Then there was an ice baby game, where guests had to get a little plastic baby out of ice cubes. The last game Jake was allowed to participate and it was a relay race for those that wanted to play. They had to make a bottle, change a diaper, and pack a diaper bag before the other team finished.

Once that was down, the punching bags were moved away from the pool so they find out what they were having. Adri’s grandparents were on FaceTime ready to watch as well.
 
Jake raised an eyebrow. "You act like I go to a baby shower regularly. I'm not sure if I've ever been to one..."

The games, Jake found funny. But was excited to see how he did for the relay race. He did have experience in all of those tasks thanks to Owen. Jake's team almost won but Luke's team cheated. The guys of course had to talk smack the entire time.

Amy stopped before Jake got to the bags and handed him his fight shorts and rash guard to get changed into. Jake loved the idea. It was something he could wear to train in. When he came out, he looked at Adri, "Did you know about this?" He kissed her softly.

When he was ready, he punched the first one that revealed blue. Which no one was surprised about. It was of course an on going joke. Then Jake kicked the second one and pink flew out. Jake's jaw dropped. "Oh my god! Yes!!" Someone would have thought he just won the championship again. He ran over to Adri and hugged her. He couldn't say anything but hold her as he teared up a bit. Adri was getting her girl. He couldn't be happier that they were having a boy and girl. It was the best of both worlds.
 
Adri shook her head to his new outfit. “It’s smart though. Don’t want you ripping your pants.” She teased. “Go show me my boys.” She said, smacking his butt as he walked away. She fully believed she was having two boys. And she didn’t mind it. If they were healthy, she was happy.

When he punched baby A’s bag and it was blue she raised her hands. It was expected. She rubbed her belly with a laugh. “You’re getting a brother Owen.” She told him. She rubbed his head.

She bit her lips together and watched Jake kick the second bag. She was shocked when she saw the pink. It was like she didn’t know what it meant. By the time Jake came over to hug her it clicked and she was excited. She was getting her girl. They were having one of each!

She wiped her eyes so she didn’t ruin her make up and kissed Jake. “One of each!” She laughed. She went to her mother’s phones and celebrated with her grandparents.

“I can’t believe it.” She said softly. He would keep buying neutral color clothes because it was easier when they were newborns, but the future would be full of dresses too. Girl clothes were so much for fun than boy clothes.
