Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 4) WF+GF

"I'll get it baby. I just never have done them before. I don't want to do a shitty job. I got you. You asked for help. I'm happy to help." He told her and meant it.

Jake put his hands on the bed on either side of her and leaned over to kiss her softly. "I'll wait for you. I have legs to shave." He stood up and went to his drawer to pull out some underwear and shorts.

"Can I do anything to help? Back rub? Foot rub? Massage?" He offered and sat next to her and kissed her shoulder.

“Just give me a minute.” She said softly and took a few deep breaths. She felt her heart rate slow down and she was ready to stand. “Fuck me. I did the stairs to fast and I was going so slow.” She chuckled.

“Come on. I need a shower before I pass out.” She stood up slowly and walked into the bathroom. She got the water started and leaned against the counter.

“You’re not going to shave fast enough. I’ll have Amy or my assistant come and help. That’ll be easier. I just want to shower and lay down.” She told him.

Jake rubbed her back. "It's okay. You just got your workout in tonight." He teased and chuckled. "We can make you a room downstairs if we need when I get home."

He followed her into the bathroom and pulled his shirt off. When she said he wouldn't be fast enough, he just looked at her a moment. "Normally men get yelled at if they are too fast now you want fast." He teased.

"Babe...will you let me try? I will
go as fast as I can. Promise..." He helped her get undressed before removing the rest of his clothes. "I can start with those and if you need to get out before me then you could."

He stepped in the shower and grabbed the shower gel and razor.

“So I can get kicked out of the room but you can’t?” She asked.

She looked at Jake. She didn’t want to tell him because she didn’t want him to freak out. “I felt dizzy and light headed at the top of the stairs. I just want to take a quick shower and lay down.” She said softly. “I’m fine. It went away after I sat down.” She told him.

“Just wash my back and legs. I’ll do the rest.” When he was finished, she took the sponge and washed her arms, chest and belly. She rinsed off and got out of the shower to dry off. She washed her face and applied her creams. Then went to the bedroom and got into bed.

"I'm not kicking you out. I'm offering something to help you. Im trying to help babe." He told her.

Jake watched her and nodded. "Okay. Yeah." He helped her out and kept an eye on her since she had felt dizzy. Jake was worried abiut her. He wondered if that was normal for her to get dizzy and light headed.

He finished his shower, still a bit worried. Once he was done, he got out and grabbed a towel to dry off. He got dressed and went into the bedroom to grab a cut up shirt to put on before crawling into bed.

"You feeling okay?" He asked her. "Why didn't you just tell me that?"

“I’m okay.” She said softly. And got into the side that faced him. “I’m okay.” She said again, out of breath now because moving the belly wasn’t easy.

“Because you’re leaving and I didn’t want to freak you out. Go do your thing. Owen and I will be fine.” She assured him and out her hand on his chest. “It was probably because I was tired and moved too fast.”

She closed her eyes and opened them to look at him. “If I don’t feel okay while you are away, I will go to the doctor. I know I have to be perfectly healthy to have my home birth. I know what she is going to say. I’m not ready for bed rest yet. I have too baby clothes to hang and fold. I want to get Owen’s closet transferred. There’s things that need to be done.” She told him.

Jake nodded. "I'm not going to freak out. I'm gonna be worried. Really worried. You're my pregnant wife. Of course I will worry." He rubbed her belly. "Especially being here by yourself with Owen."

He thought about it a bit. "What if you ask your mom to come help move that stuff and organize. Or even Amy. They'd love to help." Jake would feel better if someone stayed with her. He was second guessing leaving now.

"Do you promise me that you'll keep me in the know of how you're feeling?" He asked her.

“I will call my mom.” She promised. “And Janice to help with Owen. Janice is staying here with her boyfriend. I won’t be alone.” She told him. “I don’t think anyone would leave me alone at this point.” She laughed.

She nodded her head, “You will know if I sneeze wrong.” She brought his hand up to her lips and kissed the back of it. “I love you. Everything is fine.”

She reached back to turn off her light and got comfortable. “What are we going to watch?” She asked. “The Miracle of Childbirth maybe?” She teased.

"That's good. Wait, Janice's boyfriend is staying too? How does that work while she's working? I don't mind. I'm just curious. I'm glad someone is going to be here. Also please let them help you."

He nodded to her. "I better. A sneeze or a burp. I want a text. If it's a fart, text Nick." Jake laughed. "I love you too. I worry about you baby. Everything better be okay..."

Jake nudged her. "No. No. I don't want to see another woman giving birth. My vote is Outer Banks." He told her and snuggled her, turning the TV on.

Adri shrugged. “He doesn’t live in the state. They’re staying in the pool house. He can lounge and use the pool. Do some manual labor, aka move some baby boxes to the new place for me. They can go out and have fun at night. If I have your dad, sister, Luke, my mom, dad and all of my brothers, minus Drew, I won’t need Janice all the time. Just in the morning and maybe bed time.” She explained.

She agreed to the show. She wouldn’t be up long enough to watch it. She had to get up a few times in the night to use the bathroom but other than that she was able to sleep a bit.

In the morning, she still felt tired and like the twins grew five pounds heavier. Owen was up so she got up to get him in a new pull-up and downstairs.

"Oh okay. I like that someone will be here, just in case." He kissed her shoulder. "You know my parents and Amy will be checking in and here to help with anything."

Jake fell asleep after a few episodes, shutting the tv off. He slept through the night but did move a bit when Adri got up to go to the bathroom but didn't really wake up. He figured if something was wrong, she would wake him up.

He slept a little later since Adri got up with Owen, but it was still fairly early. Jake got up and went down to see what Adri and Owen were doing. He could see if she needed stuff taken to the new house or what she needed him to take care of before leaving. "Good morning..." He told them both when he found them.

“Good morning.” Adri said from the couch. Owen was on the floor eating cereal. The dogs were around him waiting for him to leave the food unattended or for him to toss them something. They taught Owen not to feed the dogs and the dogs not to steal food. So it was peaceful for now. Max wasn’t good motivated so he was sitting next to Adri while she stroked his head.

“He was happy with dry cereal, so I’m not making breakfast.” She told Jake and yawned. She could easily go back to sleep, but she was fighting it so she could say goodbye to Jake and keep Owen distracted.

“Are you all packed?” She asked him.

Jake watched Owen a moment and the dogs. He was glad they were both trained well and they weren't fighting over food. "Not yet. I came down to see if there was food. But I'll make an omelet or something a bit later before I go."

He walked over and gave Adri a kiss and her belly a rub and kiss. Max got a couple pets and scratch behind the ears. "Life was much simpler when it was the three of us." He told Max. "Soon we will be a family of eight with the animals. I'm getting my dog once the babies are big enough and life isn't so crazy...just so you know."

Jake gave Owen's head a kiss. "Morning buddy." He looked at Adri, I just need to grab my last minute stuff. I'm going to do that now the make some eggs. Do you want me to make you anything?"

Adri chuckled. “You can get a dog now if you want. I don’t care. But you need to train it. And do everything you possibly can to tire it out.” She told him. “Or send him to boarding school.” She shrugged. “And get him fixed. And get Max fixed. You aren’t studding him out like you wanted so it’s time for those to go.”

She shook her head at him making her something. “Actually a granola fruit bowl would be nice. I was going to make it before I sat down but…” Obviously she sat down and got comfortable and didn’t want to get up again.

Owen ate his cereal until the bowl was empty and then he got up and started to play. Adri asked for the bowl and he brought it over and gave him a hug and tickled his neck with kisses.

Jake listened but it was a lot for him to do with moving and the babies. "No, I'll wait until we are settled a a bit." He looked at Max with big eyes. "Maximus...she wants to take your manhood." He whispered. "I'll fight as long as I can to keep it..." He pet his head and smiled at Adri.

"Okay. It will be a bit. I'm gonna finish up and get dressed." Jake went upstairs and grabbed his last minute stuff for LA. He got dressed in some casual gray twill joggers, a white shirt with Under Armor on it and a pair of black shoes.

He came downstairs and started the omelet and made her fruit bowl and brought it in to her. "Here baby." He gave her a quick kiss. "I'm going to miss you."

Adri smiled when he brought her her fruit bowl and sat up. “Thank you.” She said and took a bite of the fruit, yogurt and granola.

She looked over his grey sweats and laughed softly. “Breakfast and a show. Are you wearing those on the plane?” She asked. There was a lot unintentionally showing, so he was bound to get a lot of attention.

Owen got curious about the food and came over to Adri and pointed and named the fruit she was eating. Then asked for a blueberry, or boo berry as he called them.

“You can have some with lunch or for a snack a bit later. You ate already. This is mine.” She told him. “Go play.”

"You're welcome." He smiled at her and watched Owen come over and want some. Owen after getting told 'no.' Asked with a please. Jake looked at Adri, at least he said please but would let her handle it for now cause there may not always be someone else to step in.

He even decided to walk away so he wouldn't try asking for any. Instead he went back to his food and put it on a plate, but since he was going to be leaving, he decided to go into the room to sit and eat with Adri. It would be another good lesson for Owen to learn 'no.' But then again he did just have dry cereal.

It he was good he may ask him if he wanted something after they were both finished. Maybe.

When Adri was finished she took the bowl to the kitchen and set it in the sink. Owen was acting like her shadow, everywhere she went, he went. Usually holding her leg or hand. She preferred if he held her hand and didn’t try to trip her up.

Janice and her boyfriend arrived a little after nine and after introductions were made, they went to the pool house to get settled. Owen tried to act shy and hide behind his parents or bury his face in Jake’s neck.

“Do we have to go to the airport with you? I know I said we would yesterday, but I’m so tired. sleep is not my friend right now.“ If she wasn’t peeing, she was trying to sleep but the constant movement in her stomach kelt her from falling into a deep sleep.

It was nice Jake was able to meet Janice's boyfriend since he was going to be staying at their pool house. It was nice having someone around for Adri and Owen since he had to leave. He didn't know why Owen was being so shy though.

When Adri mentioned not wanting to go to the airport it kind of sucked but he gave a nod. "I understand. Rest up. I'll let you know when I land." Jake grabbed Owen and said his goodbyes to him and gave him hugs and kisses. He told him to be good.

Jake gave Adri a hug and kiss before heading out to the the car with his bags and his dad. They dropped him off and he said his good byes before heading into the airport. A few people stopped him for pics and since he was alone and had some time, he took pics and signed a few autographs.

He boarded the plane, first class and watched a show on the way. Once he landed, he texted Adri. "Landed. Love you." When he headed through the airport, he looked for Nick who was going to pick him up. It was nice having a friend out there to stay with and make interesting instead of staying by himself.

“Have fun. Love you.“ Adri replied to Jake’s text.

The next few days for her were all about baby prep. She wanted their closets organized. The diaper table organized and peace and calm to fill the room. She tested out the rocking chair multiple times and fell asleep on it more times then she wanted to admit.

She also had work to do with her make up brand. Now that most of the legal stuff was out of the way, she would focus on formulas and colors she wanted to focus on. She wanted it to be an inclusive all encompassing brand so there would be all shades of foundation and concealer in both full and medium coverage. it was also very important that it was good for the skin.

For the launch she wanted a full face, so foundation, concealer, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick. It was a lot but she was willing to work and make it perfect. The launch date was mid-October, which gave her a little bit of baby time before she had to be in LA and New York for launch parties. There were also talks of a store front in a Las Vegas mall, if the brand did well.

Working kept her calm. It also kept her sitting down Which seemed to make the babies happy. Every time she stood up, she would get light headed and at this point there was no stopping that. Other than the light headedness, she felt fine. The babies were kicking.

She spoke to Jake everyday. Owen got to talk to daddy. His vocabulary was growing thanks to daycare. He only picked up a few bad habits, mostly throwing and hitting. But her sweet baby was mostly in there.

Jake stayed with Nick and filmed his scenes he needed to. Some were reshoots. Some were new scenes for down the line to use if they chose to. They wanted to offer him a contract for a reoccurring role.

He told Adri about it but said they could discuss it when he got home. He didn't want to be gone once the babies were born and he wanted the contract to at least have something in there about when he'd be shooting. Jake didn't like the last minute being forced to show up in LA.

Jake put in some long days to hurry back home. It worried him that she was continuing to get dizzy and he wasn't staying in LA longer than he had to.

When it was time to get return, he booked his flight for himself and Nick.

Since Jake would be home during the middle of the day, Adri and Owen were going to pick the guys up. Owen didn’t know where they were going, but he was happy to be riding around with Adri.

They couldnt get out of the car when Jake and Nick walked up, they were in a loading zone and Adri was visibly pregnant. She wasn’t risking a swarm right now. Owen screamed happily for Jake, but was more happy to see uncle Nick again.

“Hi Uncor Nick.“ Adri laughed.

”Hi Mrs. Daniels, thanks for the wedding invite.“

Adri stuck her tongue out at him and waited for everyone to be buckled up before she drove them home. “Hungry? I’m craving In N Out and I already promised someone a milk shake.“

“How are the babies?” Nick asked and reached forward to poke her stomach.

“My babies!” Owen whined.

“All three of us are fine. Thank you. I did get a Charlie horse last night which sucked. Other than that, we are fine.“ She smiled.

Jake smiled when he could hear Owen scream for him but it soon was over as he saw Uncle Nick. He sighed and got in the passenger seat.

He looked back and forth between Owen and Adri. "Seriously? I don't get a hi. Hey husband. I missed you. Thanks for coming home?! Nothing?!" He shook his head and put his seat belt on.

"You promised Nick a milk shake?! How nice." He chuckled and looked at Nick. "By the way he gave me crap about the wedding too."

"No, I gave YOU crap about the lack of bachelor party." Nick added.

"I could eat..." Jake told her about getting food. "And whatever the babies want."

“Hi husband, we missed you.“ Adri teased and bent over for a kiss.

“No bachelor or bachelorette parties until the real wedding.“ She told Nick. “We are still doing the big party. We are just delaying it a bit. A year or two, maybe.“ She explained and they had a damn good reason to delay it. She wanted to drink and have a bachelorette party too.

She drove them to In-N-Out and got everyone some food. Owen got to sip on his milkshake on the way home. She almost drove them to the new place, but it wasn’t ready to be slept in yet And they were setting up for the party tonight.

”Cody was a lifesaver with the dogs and Owen. He took the dogs for a walk every morning. He played with Owen in the pool and the playground. Janice was great as usual, but Cody really went out of his way.“ She told Jake. “I told Janice I approve.“ She smiled.

When she pulled into the driveway, she opened the garage so they could get into the house. Cody was outside in no time and opened the door for Adri, helped her out of the car and took the food inside for her.

"Mmhmm sure you did." He told her about missing him. Jake leaned over and kissed her softly. "Hi wife. I missed you." He rubbed her belly. "And you two also."

"I told him not to worry. We still have a big party planned. I'm excited cause we throw some awesome parties." Jake smiled and rested his hand on her leg.

Jake nodded when she explained what all Cody did. "That's awesome. I'm glad he was helpful. I'll have to see for myself if I give my approval." He wasn't sure why he rushed out to get her door though. His eyebrow raised and he glanced at Nick. "Is he trying to out do me?" Jake got out and grabbed their bags to head inside. Nick unbuckled Owen from his seat and tried to take his shake so he wouldn't drop it but Owen wasn't giving it up. Not even for Uncle Nick.
