Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 4) WF+GF

Jake looked in her eyes with nothing but love and adoration. She was perfect. At least for him she was.

"Sorry..." He chuckled and looked down at their hands a moment. Her hand wad delicate and nicely put together. His was rough and had calloused skin. They were even a bit red still from the fight on the knuckles. It was just like them. She was put together and delicate, he was rough.

His eyes met hers and let out a breath. "I thought, you were going to be like every other assistant I had. And here I am marrying you. You never backed down from me. You met me head on. Just like we've faced everything together, head on. You changed me Adri. And not in a bad way. You make me want to be the best man, husband, father, human. The best at everything I do. And I also know that if I'm not the best..." He teared up. "You're still going to think I'm great. I promise that I'm always going to be by your side no matter what. We will go through it together. I've never been happier in my life than I think I am right now. And I know that it's only going to get better from here. We get to be Opa and Oma one day watching our grand babies get married at a castle." He grinned. "You just continue to blow me away. I love you Adriana. And I could not have dreamt of a more perfect mother or wife to go through this crazy thing called life with..."

Her grandfather smiled at Jake, “Beautiful. Both of you. And now for the traditional vows. Adri, you first.” He said and opened his notebook to read the vows.

“In the name of God, I, Adriana Jones, take you, Jacob Daniels, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow.” Adri said repeating after her grandfather in German and then again in English.

“Ah the rings!” He said. “Owen. Bring me the rings.” He said past Adri and Jake and Owen slowly walked over with the ring box and handed it to Adri. She looked at Jake and then opened the box and saw the thin bands. She took one and slid it on Jake’s finger but it was too small so it only went past the first knuckle.

She handed him the ring box because it was his turn to say his vows. “You don’t have to say them in German.” She whispered. It was a mouthful and he was still learning. But if he wanted her grandfather would guide him word for word.

"Opa, I think I have bigger hands than you..." He whispered and chuckled before taking the box from Adri.

Jake grinned a little. He took a breath and started to say his vows back to her. But instead of saying them in English first, he was struggling but also not doing half bad, saying them in German. A few things he got the pronunciation wrong but her grandfather helped him. It was clear they had been working on it. After saying it in German, he then said it in English, just like she did. It was exactly same as her vows but switched up for him.

He grabbed the box of rings and grabbed the smaller on and slid it onto her finger.

Opa smiled proudly. "You are now husband and wife." He repeated it in German then told Jake to kiss his bride in German. Jake placed his hands onto her cheeks with a smile. "I love you...Ich liebe dich Adriana Daniels." He kissed her softly and passionately.

“I love you too.” She said happily and kissed him back. She put her hands on his waist and when the kiss died down she gave him a hug and kissed him again.

“Ich liebe meinen Mann!” She laughed and kissed him one more time. Nothing had really changed between them but it felt like it had. They were husband and wife now. She was officially Mrs Drifter. She wanted to tell the world. Scream it from the balcony but she loved how simple and tasteful and private it was at the same time. This was about them. All about them. She loved every bit of it.

When they broke apart she hugged her grandfather and kissed his cheek. “I love you. Thank you.” She told him and did the same with her grandmother.

“This is crazy and beautiful. You got me a castle.” She smiled. “Thank you.” She told Jake.

“I really thought it was going to be more maternity photos. Or a gender reveal.” She laughed.

Jake kissed her back and chuckled. It did feel like their bond had just gotten stronger. He couldn't stop smiling. Owen clapped with Oma when they finished kissing.

"Your grandparents gave us rings to use for today." He explained. "I don't know if you figured that or not. I didn't check to see if his would fit me." He laughed.

"I couldn't buy you one but I figured we could in fact get married at one." He gave her a peck. "No but I do have one more surprise." He told her. They all took a few pictures before Jake grabbed her hand and went inside with her.

He took her to a room where there was a grand ballroom. A song started to play as he took her to the center of the floor to dance with her. "May I have this dance Mrs. Daniels?"

“It’s fine. We have to give them back anyway.” She said but she did like the look of two rings on her finger.

“There’s still time to buy me one.” She teased and rubbed his back. Owen walked over and gave Jake a hug too so he could be included. “I don’t know how many more surprises I can handle.” She told him with a happy smile. She walked with him inside and looked around the grand ballroom.

She took Jake’s hand and they started to sway back and forth while the photographer took more pictures. “You’re the best, you know that?” She asked softly. “I can’t wait to have your babies.” She said and kissed him once more with feeling.

Jake picked Owen up and gave him a big hug. "Did mommy see how handsome you are?" He tickled his tummy. Owen leaned over to give Adri a hug and kiss too.

"I got myself a silicone one for now." He said referring to the rings. "It came with a silicone for you too for when you're working out if you want it."

He sighed and rolled his eyes about still buying her a castle. "I bought you a house...same thing." He chuckled.

Jake shook his head. "I'm not the best...but I'll always try my best for you...you deserve it." He smiled and kissed her back. "I can't wait for them to get here. Just don't hate me as they are coming out...." He chuckled.

"Our families have no idea. None. Any idea how to tell them?"

“I love you buddy.” She told Owen when he gave her a hug. She kissed cheek and rubbed his back. “You’re so handsome! You look just like your dad.” She smiled.

“No promises.” She laughed. “I’m scared. Those are some big heads coming out a tiny hole.” She shook her head and sighed. She tried not to think about it. It would all be perfect.

She laughed and shook her head, “We don’t. Or we tell Amy and Luke and see how they react and move on from there.” She said and shrugged her shoulder. “We will figure it out. But I’m happy being married in private.”

Owen really didn't understand what was going on but it was like a big party so he was happy. When she mentioned he looked handsome he smiled big.

Jake just smiled at her before chuckling and shaking his head. "Thanks for the visual... But you lucked out. Twins are normally smaller." He kissed her softly. "Plus I have no doubt that you'll do amazing."

"Well we have time to think about it. I think since we are still having a big wedding to celebrate they will understand. Those close to us will definitely understand." He told her as he kept dancing with her.

It was nice to just listen to the song and dance with his wife. He kept her as close as he physically could get her.

The rest of the trip was all systems normal. They were able to get out and sightsee and be a family. She took him to a couple touristy spots but generally tried to stay away because she didn’t want to get mobbed. Owen was a ball of sunshine for most of the trip. He was happy to walk places and see new things. He got to practice his German a little, so he learned a few new words. He was speaking a mix of mostly English with German words thrown in.

The flight home was the worst part of the trip with Adri only getting bigger and more uncomfortable in the seat. She had to walk around a couple times but didn’t want to walk too far just in case they hit turbulence. She was more than happy to be home. They had their check up and the babies were growing and healthy.

Adri had to file the paperwork to get her name legally changed to Daniels. The process was already started but now that she had a marriage certificate, she could file it and be official. The loan to the house would be the last time she used the Jones sirname.

They got to visit their new home and see the work the designers were doing to the nursery, their room and Owen’s room. The yard was so big the dogs had a small house in the backyard they could escape too if they wanted.

Their next big project was the housewarming slash baby and gender reveal. So Adri had a planner come and help plan that. It was all going to be set up in the back. It was made to look more like a house warming party, but the gender reveal was happening as well.

It wasn’t a huge guest list. Mostly friends and family. Some of Adri’s friends knew already, just like some of Jake’s did but now they were extending the list of who knew by a little bit. Everyone was still very much trusted and it was written into the RSVP that no pictures would be taken and everything would be private.

It was the last party before she got put on bed rest. Her doctor threatened her with it before but the more she grew the bigger of a reality it was becoming. She gave up wearing heels for the most part. She tried to remain peaceful during the packing process. She kept her mind light with classical music and washing tiny baby clothes.

But everyday she drive to the new house and walked into the new nursery and cleaned or refilled or reset the drawers and closet.

Then she would pick Owen up from daycare and take him back to the old house.

Jake enjoyed the little vacation they got to have as a family before heading home. On the plane, he tried helping Adri be more comfortable but when he didn't know what to do, he just kept Owen occupied thinking that was as good of a help as anything. Truth was,I think they were all a bit ready to head home though.

The fact that Adri was excited to get her name changed to Daniels made him pretty happy. He knew she would still keep her professional name and that was more than fine with him. The fact that his entire family would have the same name made him happy.

Jake would help where he could with the house and the babies. He was trying to get the old house packed up. Some things he didn't want someone else doing.

He had gotten a call from the show's director that they wanted him to come down to shoot a follow up of his character. Jake explained to him that he couldn't really travel now but technically he was still under contract. He'd have to talk to Adri and see what he could possibly do. He'd need to bring it up during a good mood and moment otherwise he would possible be divorced pretty quickly. He couldn't miss the gender reveal but then he could come back home to be there for when they were born and the move in to the new house.

Jake was home when she got home with Owen after a visit to the new house. Owen was excited to see Jake and the dogs but quickly forgot about dad to go play. "How are you feeling babe?"

“Like I’m approaching nine months pregnant.” She told him. “My back hurts and I feel like waddling everywhere. I miss the glowy days. Six months was perfect. I was glowing. I could walk. My boobs were big but they didn’t hurt. These two were shoving each other for space. Did you know most of their development is happening right now?” She asked. “I can feel it. They’re getting smarter and sucking all of smarts away.” She told him dramatically.

“I forgot I had a meeting for the brand and we don’t have Wi-Fi set up at the new house and I’m sitting there trying to figure out why my computer won’t connect. So I had to do the whole thing in my phone. And everything on the screen was so tiny. I couldn’t see it.” She handed him Owen’s backpack.

“He ate another kids lunch. After he ate his.” She told Jake. “Did you feed him this morning? Did I feed him this morning? I can’t remember. I need a nap. And dinner. And ice cream.” She said walking into the house.

Jake smiled and gave her a loving kiss. "I know that's why I've been talking to them more. You need the headphones maybe they will chill a bit if they jam out to some music."

He just smiled at her. "You got it figured out. Look at you. You're doing great babe." He gave her head a kiss taking his bag.

Jake laughed at Owen eating another kids lunch. "He's my son. He's growing. Yes I gave him eggs and sausage patties. And some strawberries." He laughed and shook his hand putting his hand on his face. "Only our kids. Did he get in trouble for it?"

It didn't seem the right time to tell her but he didn't want to drag it out either. "A nap sounds good. When you wake up. I need to go over some stuff with you..."

“Depends on what you mean for trouble.” She said softly. “They had more food for the other kid, but that’s not good.” She told him. “She said we should stop feeding him from our plates. That’s why he thinks it’s okay.”

She rubbed her belly and walked into the house. “No just tell me now. I will sit the couch for a bit. Will you make steaks for dinner? And broccoli? And Mac and cheese?” She asked him. “Maybe mashed potatoes too. Is that too much? I’ll settle for the broccoli and Mac and cheese.” She told him and kicked her shoes off and walking to the living room.

“How was your day love?” She asked after fluffing all the pillows and getting comfortable on the couch. She’d be out in a few minutes. Especially with the blanket draped over her legs.

"Maybe she should mind her business we will parent how we want to." He told her and rolled his eyes. "I'll talk to him. We will work on asking for a bite. And not just grab."

He put Owen's backpack on his hook. Jake just watched her until she figured out what she really wanted. "Whatever you want love."

He went in and sat down next to her for a bit. "It was good. But...the shows director called. They need me in LA to film some stuff. They want to do a follow up episode or two. I told them I can't travel but I'm under contract. I can go out sooner than later and get it done and just get home." His hand played with hers. He liked playing with her rings.

“Maybe she has a point.” Adri said softly. “He gets food every time he walks over if we are eating. If he’s hungry he can have a snack on his own plate. I don’t want to feed bad habits.” She said softly.

“That’s not ideal.” She said softly. “And you heard the doctor. These two can come early if they want. I can only do so much to keep them in. Even with the reduced physical activity.” She said throwing up air quotes. She felt like it was bedrest. She was taking it slower but she wasn’t laying in bed with her feet kicked up all day. She couldn’t do it.

“We are shooting for forty weeks.” She told her belly. “But it doesn’t feel like I’m going to make it that far. Oh god. What if I have the babies at the reveal?” Her eyes widened. “That’s not how I want to party.” She told him.

Jake sighed. "I'm not saying she's entirely wrong but we need to teach him more than, no you can't have it. But also why. I let you eat from my plate but you ask first. No different. If I say no, you should respect it. You don't but..." He shrugged and smiled.

"I know. I don't want to leave. But if I have to. I should go and get back. I know you can't come. I can hopefully get the stuff shot in a couple days and be home. If you go into labor I'm on a plane." He promised. "I'm not missing their birth. No way..."

Jake chuckled and moved to wrap his arm around Adri. "You won't have them at the party. We'd cancel the party if you go into labor babe." He smiled and kissed her cheek before rubbing her belly. "And you know while I'm in LA, Nick will be there and make sure I get back in time."

“At least it’s just LA. If it was New York or somewhere farther we would have a problem.” She told him and held his hand. “I can come if you want me too. We would have to drive though.” There was no way a doctor was clearing her to fly if it wasn’t for an emergency.

“You both need to make it here as soon as filming is done.” She told him. “I want you to be there and you have to punch the bags and release the chalk so we know what they are! I can’t do it. Well I could but I’d have to use a baseball bat or break a nail.” She said.

Owen ran over and yelled hi to the babies while Adri laid on the couch. She smiled at him and then Jake. “You have to get a little closer so they can hear you. Come here. Say hi.” She told him and raised her shirt. “Maybe if you poke them they will kick. What do you think mommy is having? Do you want a brother or a sister?” She asked and rubbed his head.

Jake shook his head to her coming. "I'd love to be with you. But baby...I can't do that to you. I have leaving you here alone. I can take Owen just so it's one less thing you have to handle. I know we have Janice but...still..."

He smiled at her and kissed her hand. "Nick and I will be here as soon as we are done. I promise to make it back for the party. Plus people will find out you married this crazy fool." He smiled big and leaned over and kissed her. "Mrs. Daniels. That never gets old." Jake sat back down. "Can we name our house? Like the Miz and his wife. They named their house MarMiz. His wife's name is Maryse. They even have a cool sign on their house."

Owen leaned closer. "Hi my babies!!" He poked her belly. It took a moment and they started kicking.

"Owen what's mommy having?"

"Babies! My babies!" He smiled proudly. Jake chuckled and shook his head.

"Brother or sister?" Jake asked him.

Owen thought about it. "Brothers!" He ran over and grabbed a truck of his and brought it to Adri for the babies.

"See...Our kid isn't a monster. He shares his toys. Food...well everyone is on their own." He shrugged.

“I don’t even know what we would name our house.“ she said but thought about it. “Jadri. Adke. Jacanna. Our names don’t mix together well. The best we have is alliteration, so Daniels Den. We aren’t putting a sign up in the driveway though. The best I can do is a sign in the entry way. With our names on them.“

Adri thanked him for the truck, “I am sure they can’t wait to play with you.“ She said and drove the truck over her belly. “Don’t you want one sister though?” She asked him.

He smiled and shook his head, “No girls. Boys. Boys. Boys.“

“Oh boy. I like Oma’s guess better.” She told him and handed him his truck back.

Jake hated any of those ideas. "No. We will figure something out. It may just have to Daniels Manor or something." He sighed. "Why don't we have a cool combo name like Benifer?" He asked teasing her.

He chuckled at Owen not wanting a sister. "Sisters could be fun. Daddy has a sister. Aunt Aim is daddy's sister." He explained to Owen.

Jake smiled at Adri. "I bet she's right. She's got skills. Did she guess you all right?"

"Would you be mad if we had all boys? It could be a possibility with your family. And I guess mine..." He shrugged.

“Our names don’t work together like that.” She told him. “Bennifer is good though. I’m jealous of that one.”

Owen thought about it for a moment. Amy was Jake’s sister. There was a moment of disbelief and he shook his head. “Noooo.” He laughed. That couldn’t be true.

“I don’t know.” She said and shrugged her shoulder. “I hope she’s right. A boy and a girl and then tie those tubes. We have had enough.” She smiled at him.

“I wouldn’t be mad if we had all boys. You can’t tell when they’re newborns. I can get dresses and dress them as girls if I want.” She shrugged. “I didn’t want to find out but now that we are, I can’t wait.” She smiled. “Makes buying clothes easy.” She winked.

"I know. It sucks. We will do something cool. I want something epic on our gate." He told her. "Like a cool 'D'."

Jake laughed at Owen saying no to Amy being his sister. "Then who is she?! I'm going to tell her he doesn't think we are related. She may be okay with that." He chuckled.

"Are you really wanting to tie your tubes after these two? You're legit done?" That gave them three. He would be happy with three. But if she wanted more he'd want to wait. Jake wanted them a bit older first.

Jake agreed. "I know. I wanted to wait too but it would make things easier. I am excited to be the one that sets off the powder. Let's hope it works. Has anyone done it like this?"

“You’re right. A vasectomy is better.” She said after she had to google if a tubal ligation was reversible or not. ”Just in case I change my mind. And I don’t want to go back on the pill and I don’t really want to always have condoms on hand.“ She said.

“But I think having three under five is a lot. We can go for another when these three are in school. Or we adopt like you want.“ She told him.

”Or if we want another someone else can carry.“ She shrugged. She enjoyed moments of being pregnant, but she was terrified of pushing them out and she hated the morning sickness. She like the kicks and movement though. she didn’t know if she could do it again.

“We probably aren’t the first people to do it.“ She told him. “It will be cool. As long as Luke doesn’t have you run drills before you punch the bag.“ She laughed. Luke, of all people, would make him work for his prize.

Jake put a hand over himself. "Are you threatening me cause I have to go to LA?" He understood her not wanting to go on the pill and how it could be easier for him. "Can we wait and legit talk about after they are here? I'm open if you want me to get it done but I want to legit have a conversation about it."

He liked the idea of maybe having another but the idea of adopting was also nice. But they would wait awhile before they needed to make a decision.

"Why...why would you put that into the existence. Now he's gonna make me workout first. Son of a bitch..." He groaned. "He'd let me eat all I wanted. Maybe even drink. Then make me work so hard I hurt and want to throw up. Now it's your fault." He told her and shook his head.

"I'll call my agent after dinner and have them set it up so I can get to LA by next week. Is that okay?"
