Is He A Lover or A Fighter? (Part 3) WF+GF

Jake laughed. "Good point. I'd be last week's news. That kid is too cute for his own good."

He smiled and chuckled. "I bet it is kinda nice to say that. I almost can say the same thing. Especially to Bisping. But language in front of O...love...." He gave her a look.

Jake was so proud of her. "I am not surprised you have a lot of offers. You did amazing and looked super sexy. I'm so proud of you. Your cosmetic line would do amazing. I know you will kill it. Plus if you work on that then maybe we have time to get you knocked up." He chuckled. "You know I support anything you decide to do baby. I got your back." He smiled at her as he cut up Owen's pancakes. "Come here O...." He set him up in his booster seat at the tablet and let him eat.

"You can always put something together. I hope I have clean underwear for weigh ins. Otherwise I have my UFC ones. I should probably just wear those." He let out a yawn before taking a bite. "This is good babe. Thank you."

She smiled at Owen, “Indont think he heard that. He’s fine.” She smiled.

She laughed, “Yes there would be time but I’m on a two year contract with VS. meaning I have to get pregnant now or in the timeline we have thought up. We can try after the wedding. Our honeymoon can be nothing but making another drifter.” She smiled and gave him a kiss. “I can’t wait to practice making a drifter.” She whispered against his lips and gave him a Kiss.

“You’re welcome. I spent all morning making this wonderful spread.” She teased.

“I don’t know why you wouldn’t have clean underwear. Today is not the day to go commando. That’s for sure. I have a thong you can borrow if you want though. Or I have these cute black lace boy shorts. Those will look good on you. They’re lace though so your goods are going to show through.” She smiled.

"But keep saying it and he will add another bad word to his vocabulary." He chuckled. "And it would be mom's fault again..." Jake gave her a look.

Jake smiled and gave her a kiss back. "I do want to do a bit more than making a baby drifter but we can definitely start practicing and then spend as much time as we can in the bedroom on the honeymoon. I do want to find some good restaurants of course and snorkel and swim." He smiled proudly at his idea of their destination.

"Oh you did? You are something else." He joked. "Did they let you in their kitchen here at the hotel? If so you can go make me a smoothie." Jake grinned with a chuckle. "I want a strawberry, banana and flax seed smoothie. Get on it!" He teased and stole a bite of Owen's fruit.

Jake rolled his eyes. "You're a punk. I would have thought you'd want me to go commando. And if I was close on weight you better bet your toosh that I would strip everything off to make weight if I had to. I've done it before. Not for the UFC but before I got into the UFC." He thought back about those fights. "I had this promoter who would be like Dana and call me up and say he had a fight for me. The winnings depended if you were a main event. If you weren't want to know what I won? A freaking Monster Energy drink cause they sponsored the fights. I fought a few fights there and won...maybe $500 from a main event then moved to a promoter that actually had cash pay outs for all winners and then just kept moving up. But I'm not going to lie the first fights were pretty fun. They would be in the craziest places." He laughed. "They would have tables by the octagon that cost more money to sit at then the regular seats. A lot of time people were standing at standing room only. We even would have fights breakout in the audience." He shook his head. "From winning Monsters to being World Champion." He shook his head and just smiled.

Adri raised her eyebrows, “I dont know who you think you’re talking too but I don’t answer to demands. Say please and I might whip out the little bullet and make you smoothie if you’re nice. And only if Owen agrees that I should make one.” She smiled. “Yeah, try and make him say yes.” She laughed.

“And it’s not going to have flax seed.” She stuck her tongue out. “Picky old man.”

She laughed, “Dang. I need to fatten you up a little huh? Get you naked for the world to see.” She smiled.

She was surprised about his story. “Jake you have to tell that story. Do you have any idea how inspirational that will be to future fighters? From winning monsters to winning belts.” She smiled. “You’ve come so far. And you’re only going up from here.”

"I didn't tell you to do it. I said you could do it." He shook his head. "Someone didn't pay attention." He shook his head again and rolled his eyes. "Why no flax seeds? They are good for you. But if you wouldn't mind, I'd love one. Maybe a little later though. I think this will have me pretty satisfied." Jake looked at Owen. "Should mommy make daddy a smoothie?"

He shot her a look about being an old man. "I'm your old man...old woman."

"No you don't. I'm fine the size I am babe. But if I would do a different weight class should I lose weight or gain?" He asked curiously. He wasn't sure the best way to go. If he lost he would be a bit higher in the class where if he gained he'd be on the lower side of the class.

"You think so babe?" He asked before taking a bite of food. Once it was gone he shrugged. "Should I do it on Live or Youtube? What you think?" He took a few more bites and smiled at her. "I should show you the places I stayed from Colorado to Vegas. From buddy's couches to the offices of gyms to sketchy motels that I'm surprised I didn't catch something to my car. That was the beauty of the gym, I ate least had a shower. I fought in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Nevada. I'll have to dig up some pics."

“I didn’t pack flax seed. I knew we could get some fruit and milk here and I could blend you up something really quick. I can stop by the store and get a small thing of it if you really want a smoothie. I don’t mind. Until then I can whip you up a normal strawberry banana smoothie.” She told him. “If you say please. You should be teaching your son good manners.” She told him.

She thought about it. “I don’t know. I think gain because it would just make you bulkier. That would oook good on you. I don’t know what you would look like thinner and that makes me nervous.” She said honestly. “Did you see the first captain America? How they green screened Chris’s face on a smaller body? I don’t want you to look like that. So I say gain. Go up a weight class. But go up with muscle. Make that booty pop! Then you can learn how to twerk.” She smiled.

She thought about it and got an idea. “Yeah. We are totally doing that. You are taking me on a trip of where you stayed and I’ll record it and we can make a little documentary of your life.” She smiled. “How about over the summer?” She asked.

“We can make it a road trip. If we can. We might have to do it in segments.” They really would if she had to work.

"I have some. I had it in the box to ship here. It's that box." He pointed to it and smiled. "Trust me I thought of it. It's just a small zip lock of it so we have to use it or get rid of it, I'm not flying it home."

He gave a nod. "I didn't think of that. But would you still love me if I was thinner and looked goofy?" He chuckled. "Baby I won't be that thin though or that big of a difference. It's 175 lbs for Welterweight which is down and Light Heavyweight is 205. Middleweight is 185. I'm at 180 so in theory it's five pounds. I'm not going Lightweight which is 155. I do kind of want to go down to Welterweight and fight GSP. He is one of the best. I can't be the best unless I beat the best. I need to make sure I do everything I want to as a Middleweight first. Who knows if he will still be fighting when I'm ready." He shrugged. He shook his head to twerking. "I'm not twerking...period."

"Okay. I'm down." He told her with a smile. "Just us or are we taking the monster?"

"Sure baby. Whatever you want to do. We could do it in a long weekend probably. It would be cool to find out when my first promoter has a fight night and go check it out." He told her with a smile.

She made a face, “Youre weird.” She told him. “Who packs flax seed?” She laughed. “Weirdo!”

She had to think about it, “I don’t know. Lose that butt and you might just lose me too.” She teased. “Oh. Okay. Approved. Both up and down but you better not lose that a...butt” She said after looking at Owen. “I’ll get you drunk then you’ll twerk for me.” She smiled. “I’ll make you. I’ll twerk for you. We can trade off.” She laughed.

“I kind of want to make it an us thing one weekend. Or like a week of us traveling to all of these spots. I think it would be fun. It would show a different side of you. Either put it on YouTube or sell it to ESPN.” She shrugged her shoulder.

“Creative control goes completely to me. And a little to you.” She smiled.

"Your fiance does. Says the girl who has her own model things she does that's weird." He rolled his eyes and smiled. "I'm yours so I'm your weirdo."

Jake shook his head. "You would leave me cause of my butt? Seriously? And what is with you and twerking? You are not right. You're obsessed with my butt."

"Okay. A trip just us. I'm down for that. It will be fun. You sure you'll still love me after seeing everywhere I stayed?" He asked and chuckled. "We may have to skip girls I dated and their places though." He made a face.

Jake rolled his eyes. "It's my story. I don't even think my parents know the full story. I know dad knows a little or the gist of it but not all of the details. Mom has no idea. We can start in Colorado and work our way home." He suggested. "We can see if we want to leave Owen with our parents or with Emma." He smiled. "I'm actually excited for you to see that side of me and where I came from."

She laughed, “Yeah. I think I will still love you.” She smiled. “We are definitely skipping that.” She agreed. “Unless you were there for a long time. Surprised you had any girlfriends at all. If I remember correctly you weren’t fond of relationships when we met. Nad break up?” She asked.

“Would you be okay with people knowing the full story?” She asked. “This could be a really fun documentary to make. When I was in high school I was going to go into journalism. I was in the class that made the weekly newspaper and everything. I took a couple classes at a community college and fell in love with broadcast journalism. I sucked at everything else though so it didn’t work out for me. Instead I became a fairly successful Victoria’s Secret model.” She smiled.

“If it’s cool with you though, I think this could be our first venture into taking over the world. A film about your life and your journey to success.” She told him.

"You think?!" He acted offended. "That's messed up..." He chuckled. "I don't want to label them as a girlfriend but I would say they probably do. I'm..." He shrugged. "I'm not proud of the person I was then. I just was trying to make a name for myself and get as far from Denver I could get."

Jake thought about it. Did he want everyone knowing the full story. "I haven't really hid much besides who my stepfather was and that's been out." He shrugged. "I should probably be honest with you though, those girls who would say we dated, I may have let them believe that cause it gave me a place to stay. When you're desperate...you do things you're not proud of." He shrugged looking at Adri, not sure how she'd take that.

"I'm down with sharing my story. I really did come from nothing and worked my way from the bottom to the World Champ. If it gives someone some hope or motivation then I have to do it." He smiled at her. "It means a lot you want to help babe."

“YOu should be proud of who you are now.” She told him. “You did what you had to do to survive. It probably wasn’t your best moment but you’re here. You’re on top.” She smiled.

“So we can really start from the beginning?” She asked. “Go back to your home. Show the vulnerable side and then show how that side turned into this?” She asked.

“You better not be doing that to me.” She laughed. “Leading me on so I let you live with me.” She stuck her tongue out and reached out to grab his hand. “I love you Jake. All of you. Even the parts of you that aren’t the best.”

She smiled when he agreed. “I’ll give you some production credits.” She laughed. “This is going to be fun. We can see how long I last before I give up editing and ask someone else to take over.” She laughed.

"I wasn't rude to them or take advantage of them sexually or anything. I just let them think we were more serious then what I thought we were. Or didn't correct them. I normally only stayed a couple months in one spot so it wasn't a super on going thing. There was only two girls that I did that to." He shrugged.

Jake thought about it. "You know how I get about that part of my life. How much do you want to really focus on that part of my past?" He asked a little nervous. "That's letting people in to a very vulnerable part of me. Where I stayed and the gyms aren't as scary to share as that part of my past." He said softly.

"If I remember properly I asked you to move in with me after started dating. Then get a place together. Yeah pretty sure that's how that happened." He smiled and held her hand. "I love you too. Thanks babe."

He chuckled. "I give it two weeks tops." He teased and took a few bites before taking a drink of juice. "I probably should make a call to the old gyms to make sure we can film there."

"You only invited me to live with you to get into my pants." She told him. Which also made sense because their first time happened when they were laying on the floor of their new house after he told her he loved her. "Yeah, I remember things too." She laughed.

"I know, I know. You'll just be talking to me. Even I don't know the full story. I know most of it. You talk to me and we can cut out everything you don't want the world to know. The best part of this is I am the director and editor and all of that and you can trust that I am not going to go behind your back and put something in that you don't want." She told him.

She made a face, "Thanks for the vote of confidence." She needed to find her dress for the wedding and Jake needed to find his tux. They needed to figure out a menu and cakes and flowers and the planner could handle the rest. They would have some time before the wedding to get the filming done. Then she could edit after their honeymoon. Hopefully, she would be pregnant and have some time to work on it.

"I want to go somewhere tropical Boo. And Germany! When are we going to travel? I demand a summer break."

"That is not true. I felt for you what I never felt for anyone else. Are you going to start saying I only asked you to marry me cause I needed to keep the car?" He rolled his eyes and smiled.

Jake thought about it. She had a point if she was the only one working on the film then no one would know what he didn't want them to. "What if you hire someone else to finish it. You won't be able to do that with that section of the film." He told her and he sighed. "I don't know...I don't know how much detail I should go or what to get into and I feel like that part could cause problems. Mom and I are finally in a good place. Plus it's also Amy's story. It may not be fair to her."

"Anytime love." He smiled and gave her a wink. "I just know how busy you are is all." He told her and chuckled.

He smiled. "Well tropical you can check off for our honeymoon. It's pretty tropical. As for Germany, we can go whenever you have time baby. I want to go. I think it would be awesome." He smiled and finished his food and when Owen was done, he let him down to run and play.

She chuckled and nodded her head,"Now I am."

She agreed, "There is always the NDA but okay. We record those parts and if you don't want them in then we won't have them at all. I will delete them." She promised. "Talk about what you can. If this documentary is about you then maybe we can get them to do confessionals too. They can say what it was like growing up with you or what you were like as a baby. We don't have to go into the dark space." She told him.

"Fine I am taking a summer break and you are too. We are going to Germany since tropical is for the honeymoon. But maybe we can have a long weekend in Hawaii or something. I don't know. I just want to get out of Vegas for more than just work. I like the city but it's so boring after a while. I need a change."

Jake would think about it. "I should talk to the family about it before we do anything. It's only fair." He shrugged. "The NDA is only good if they keep quiet. They can leak it ans its out there. Yes we sue but it's still out there."

It was a lot to think about with the documentary idea and he needed to focus on the fight and worry about projects after.

"I didn't know our life in Vegas was boring..." He felt like she was dropping a hint back to wanting to move to New York. "I'm going to go shower." He got up and headed into the bathroom.

She couldn’t argue with that but did anyone really want to get sued over something like that? “Ask your family first and then we can go from there.” She told him.

She only meant everyone else in her social circle was going out and traveling and she got to travel for work and then she went back to Vegas. She wanted to go out, out of the city and state.

She finished eating and went to play with Owen on the floor. She grabbed her phone and showed him Max and the girls playing at their doggy day care. He called them and got a little upset when they didn’t respond but he seemed happy to see them.

Until she got a phone call and had to take the video away to answer. He started crying, she was talking to her agent and trying to pull the video up on Jakes iPad to get Owen to stop crying. It was a mess.

Sometimes Jake wondered if Adri still feel trapped or too tied down. Jake was fine staying home with his family. Traveling is always fun and nice but being in the comfort of their own home was also nice.

Jake just took a few minutes to try to clear his mind and relax. He needed to focus and not being worried about the documentary or Adri not being happy.

On Jake's iPad his social media was up to all the crap that Romero was saying about them. There even was a tweet about how controlling Adri was from Stacey but was a bit disruptive of who she was referring.

Adri tried to focus on the task at hand but she was reading his twitter feed and trying to listen to her agent all at the same time. She gave up on the twitter feed and gave Owen the iPad and his favorite game to play. It wasn't the dogs but it was Paw Patrol which made him somewhat happier.

Then she could focus on her job, "I haven't read anything yet. I will when we get home. But this doesn't change the fact that I am taking a few days off to spend with Jake in Carolina." She told her agent. "He wants to see it and we need to pick food and cake and flowers and all of the little things." She told him.

Speaking of the wedding are you sure you want to stay there? People will figure out that is where the wedding is and it doesn't take much to connect the dots from there... On a bright note who is designing or are we still figuring that out?

"I didn't think of that...Jake put a lot of work into setting this up. It's happening now." She said. "I am willing to do a designer dress but I don't want to have to give the dress back after the wedding and mom wants her gown...there is a lot going on in wedding town. Give me like three weeks and I will be ready." The fashion world won't wait three weeks. Not even for you.

Adri frowned and hung up the phone after he did. Maybe a trip right after the show wasn't the best idea but she still had to plan her wedding. Now she was worried about staying at the Biltmore before the wedding. If people found out the dates anything could happen.

Jake got out of the shower and put on a pair of shorts until it was time to change into his clothes for weigh ins. He had his Reebok underwear on though.

He came out of the bedroom and saw Owen and gave him a kiss on the head before sitting on the couch.

Owen walked over and wanted to sit with Jake so he put him in his lap.

Adri was off the phone a few minutes before Jake came out of the bedroom. She walked behind the couch and gave the back of his head a kiss. “They should make underwear with the Reebok logo right here.” She giggled and pointed to his lap.

“I love you. I’m going to start getting dressed. Do you want to take Owen to weigh ins?” She asked. He wasn’t going to the fight but weigh ins were usually pretty calm. She would need muffs for his ears but other than that he would be fine.

She went into the bedroom and picked out an outfit for Owen and the. She had to really dig for an outfit for herself. She didn’t know what she was going to wear but she would figure it out and hopefully be on time.

"You would like that." He said softly and shook his head. "You should call Reebok and tell them. Or tell their representative that's there today."

"Love you. That's up to you and Emma. I won't be able to watch him. With how clingy he has been use your best judgement on that." He told her.

Jake listened to music as Owen watched Paw Patrol. Adri kept getting more emailed offers. A lot being marked as urgent.

Adri kept digging through her suitcase but her phone kept going off. The more she thought about it the more she was on the side of leaving Owen at the hotel so he didn’t have a meltdown when he couldn’t get to Jake.

She didn’t really know what she wanted to wear. She pulled out a cute sweater and white pencil skirt. It would do for now. She had some red bottoms in her other suitcase that she could wear too. It was an easy outfit. She had to do something good with her makeup or she would get dragged by the fashion police.

Her phone kept going off so she kept pausing to look at the headline of the emails. Everyone wanted her right now and it was so hard to ignore them. She promised Jake time alone and the last time work encroached on their vacation it was a huge fight. She could do the trip and then instead of rushing to get her drsss picked out she could work and plan when she got back. That would mean leaving after they got back though. It felt doable. He wouldn’t be so upset. Right?

They had the fight and then their trip and only a couple weeks before Christmas. It was already the first weekend of December. Jake wondered if she'd want to work that close to the holidays with her big plans for Denver and the family.

It took him a little while to get into the groove and clear his head. The more he tried the harder it seemed to be to just forget everything else and just focus on the fight. He was supportive and put Adri's work first the last few days, it was time to focus on himself and his own work. Owen was content with just sitting with Jake on the couch. The pair didn't have to do anything special, he was all about just cuddling with dad.

Her agent texted her about thinking about pushing the back or just let someone else pick the details on the food. It was his job to push her to make good career decisions. He explained offers may not come back up if she waits or passes on them.
