Office Romances don't work...do they? (Nightstalker x Candi)

Chris returned the kiss and grabbed his bags, eyes meeting hers as he nodded softly walking across to her and sliding one long strong arm around her waist. "Of course my love. I need to visit that butcher close to home to so I can buy some more bones."

"Sure. But let's pick up the bedding first, yeah?" She grinned and pulled into a small bedding store that had been in the brochure. She picked up an air mattress and some king-sized pillows with a cheap set of sheets and a duvet cover. Once those were purchased, she loaded them into the car and then headed back towards home for food and the butcher.

Chris smiled and knew that the night ahead would be slightly challenging for them both, he would ultimately enjoy it as they drove towards the other shops. His words spoken teasingly. "Don't forget to think of someone for our menu."

She smiled and nodded. "Of course. She saw quite a few restaurants that boasted hot take out meals. As she wandered up and down the strip, she finally found one she liked. She ended up getting a very KFC-esque meal: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and biscuits. There would be plenty of bones for rex to chew on. When she put the food in the car, she ran into the grocery store to pick up a small bag of dog food for the loveable pup, and bought them all water and something a bit classier for Chris and herself. She also got plastic dishes for them to eat out of for tonight as well. "Okay, I'm all done. Did you talk to the butcher?" she asked, meeting him back at the car.

Chris watched her leave and headed into the butcher's, taking his time he made arrangements for several cuts to be made available on a weekly basis. Buying some large bones for the night he thanked him appreciatively as the small esky with ice was handed over to him. Soon back at the car with it neatly stored away on the back seat he smiled into her eyes. "Of course. Onwards to home for us."

She smiled brightly and drove them to their home. What a day it had been, she thought. When they arrived, She parked in the driveway and started to unload with Chris' help.

Chris helped unpack the car and could already some barking from Rex as Claire opened the front door, throwing one of the bones out on to the grass he smiled. Making sure everything was in from the car he gave a small inward sigh and spoke softly. "Claire we can eat outside. I will see what I can do about some more outdoor furniture, either buying or making it."

"I didn't know you were the crafty type," she said, grinning as she put out a bowl for rex and poured him some food. She took another and emptied a bottle of water into it. She set the water and drinks on the counter and made sure the chicken was out of reach of any curious dogs named Rex. She smiled and kissed Chris, holding onto him. "I'm so happy," she said, kissing his lips.

Chris heard her teasing words and grinned slyly at them, he had some plans in place already for the wedding and this would only add more to them as he returned the tight embrace. His lips softly touching hers before speaking softly. "I am too and very handy with most things, you should already know this."

"Well I know you're handy," she teased, squeezing his shoulders. "But I didn't know you could make anything either."

Chris felt her soft hands squeezing his broad muscular shoulders, grinning even more he nipped gently at her lower lip. "Oh yes just not done any for a few years."

She smiled and hugged him. "Well I can't wait to watch you make stuff. Maybe if I'm lucky, you'll make me something special." With a kiss to his lips, she rubbed his shoulders. "You're such a sweetheart."

Chris smiled widely, eyes sparkling and dazzling a brighter blue as he returned the tight hug and soft kiss to her lips. Eyes turning towards the food as he licked his lips. "Oh that you can be certain of my love, for now we should eat" He said.

She smiled and nodded. "Of course." She smiled and gave him a plastic plate and a plastic cup. She opened all the containers and let him go through the line first as she poured them both some wine into the cups. Chuckling as she handed his to him she took a fork as she started to go through the line as well.

Chris had taken note of what the doctor had said about his wine intake and took a few sips of it before taking several small bites of the food. Licking his lips he spoke softly. "Delicious."

Chris grinned slyly at the combination of her words and kiss, his own mind turning over slightly as he remembered the cuffs he had brought with him. Tomorrow the rest of their belongings from the hotel along with mainland would be here, he was going to make a custom bed for them as well as Rex. Finishing his food along with most of the wine he sat back and relaxed, glancing between both her and Rex.

((OMG I'm sorry my posts have been getting so short. I should really try harder...))

Claire watched him and once she had all of her food, she sat down with him on the floor and ate it, sipping at the wine she'd poured them. The bottle wasn't very big, and she hadn't intended for them to go through the whole thing. But it was a nice treat. She wondered what was going on in that head of his as she watched him.

((OOC: Don't worry about it.))

Chris was already planning even further ahead for the wedding, having done most of it last time they were here now it would be even easier as he glanced towards her before softly kissing her cheek. Sipping more of the wine he soon had it finished as eyes looked out to where Rex was munching happily on the bone still.

Claire smiled and put her arms around him for a moment. "So cute. But what are you thinking about?"

Chris blushed a little at her words and slid one long muscular arm around her back, turning his head slightly to meet her eyes. His words softly spoken. "Our new life on this Island, it will be as close to heaven as possible."

She smiled and kissed him softly. "I hope so. I think we're off to a good start."

His eyes sparkled and shone a brighter shade of blue at her words as he returned the kiss, fingertips lightly tracing down her spine. One hand reaching for the bottle and refilling both of their glasses then raising them as he spoke. "This is our life and I shall not make it bad."

She smiled and lifted her glass. "I know you won't, my darling." She kissed his lips softly and held him close to her as he sat with her. "And I'll do my best to make sure I don't do it either."

Chris smiled and nodded to her words as their glasses clinked together briefly, taking a few sips of it he was thoroughly ecstatic on the inside as he enjoyed all he had around himself right at that point of time.
