Office Romances don't work...do they? (Nightstalker x Candi)

"Only a little," she said with a smile. She stayed close to him and snuggled into his arms, enjoying him. "I'm glad I'm doing this with you."

Chris felt her snuggle closer to him, his lips ever so softly touching her forehead as his fingers gently rubbed her back. "Thought you might be and am glad I am here too. This wait will be over soon enough and then I can carry you over that threshold".

She smiled and kissed him just as the agent pulled up in her car. Claire let him go and waited for the agent. "Good day," she said, shaking their hands. "I see it's time to sign your papers. Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you."

Chris smiled a little sheepishly as the agent arrived, feeling like he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. His eyes taking in the whole of the property again as he waited for Claire to sign then signed where he needed to. He could think of nothing to ask and spoke barely a whisper into Claire's ear. "My mind went blank for questions. Do you have any."

Claire signed when Chris was finished and dated with a grin. As he leaned close to her, she shook her head at his question. She too, was at a loss for good questions. "I don't have anything, but we'll be sure to give you a call if we do." The agent nodded and took a picture of the two of them for her file (in case she didn't recognize the name, she told them).

"You two enjoy this place. It's all yours now," she said, handing over the key.

Chris smiled as the photo was taken, his eyes meeting Claire's first then the agents as he beamed widely from ear to ear. Seeing the agent off he hugged Claire close and kissed her lips softly before scooping her up into his arms. Words whispered. "Shall I carry you over the threshold today or can you wait a little longer."

She hugged him close and kissed him back. Squealing as he scooped her up, she laughed softly. "Well, since you're already half-way there," she said with a little smile, "Why don't you go ahead and finish the job? Carry me over the threshold."

Chris heard her words and gave a sly grin, his lips brushing softly against hers before his feet carried them both over the threshold and through the small entrance area. He set her down in the large open space living area with a huge smile, words softly spoken. "Love you so much and now for us to wait for the furniture to arrive."

She grinned and bounced at little when he set her down. "I can't wait to get everything set up and put away." Today was really happening. She was going to live in an island paradise with her fiance, who was adjusting, and a sweet dog. And she still had an amazing career.

Chris smiled, the spring was still in his step too as he fully took in the house seeing where their furniture would end up even in his mind's eye. Sliding one arm around her waist and kissing her cheek softly he spoke in a whispered tone. "Want to camp out here tonight."

She laughed and hugged him. "Well, we won't have utilities till tomorrow, So I'm going to veto that, but I like the way you think."

Chris grinned and laughed softly at her words, his eyes sparkling as he held her close. He could do it for one night and he knew it, hence his words. "Claire my love you spend the night in the hotel, I will stay here with Rex."

She smiled and laughed as he spun them around and then hugged him again. She kissed his lips softly and snuggled up. "I have an idea. I will stay with the two of you, but I'm going to go to the hotel and shower, grab our clothes and some food, and come back here. And I will be sure to make sure I find another toilet nearby." She laughed and snuggled him close. "We'll all be together then. Like a family."

Chris smiled back into her eyes and stopped the spinning, his lips softly touching hers as he spoke. "Claire then I should come back with you, have a shower and grab some clothes too. Our meal we could have al fresco, as for a toilet well I am sure there is one near by."

She nodded. "Of course," she said. "But who will watch Rex for us?" she asked, reaching down to pet the sweet dog.

She smiled and nodded. "Alright. Let's hurry then. I don't want the poor little guy to think we left him all alone for good." She kissed his head and then grabbed Chris' hand, leading him to the door and out to the car. "Oh, we'll need some pillows and blankets too," she said, thinking of it as she thought. "We can get those at a store too," she said, kissing him.

Chris smiled as they left, closing the front door behind them along with the gate once they reached the road, with one quick look around he gave her a short soft kiss and was in the passenger side for the trip back to the hotel. "Yes we can , there is a few shops not far from the hotel that would sell that and tonight your choice for the meal."

She smiled and nodded. It didn't take them long to get back to the hotel. She packed her suitcase again and set out some clean clothes for herself before she put up her hair and got into the shower, making it quick and cool.

Chris packed some clothes of his own, almost the entire lot so he would not have to come back tomorrow. There would be enough work for him as he would need to take care of most of the furniture work he thought as his own shower had been good. Whistling and humming he made sure he had everything, glancing at the small brochure making note of where the shops were.

She smiled at him and kissed his lips softly once they had everything together. She smelled good and she was wearing comfy clothes--a pair of shorts and a nice tank top. When she was done, she headed toward the door and let her hair down. "Ready to hit the stores?" she asked, watching him.
