"I'm not sure that's a good thing." Pearl said with a look of worry on her face. "This could very well be the calm before the storm."
 
"Well, whatever is coming. We'll all face it together," Steven told her comfortingly as he ran back to the house where he saw Garnet and Amethyst waiting for them. So it was another peaceful day then. "I'm gonna go meet up with Rai for dinner then. See you later, guys," Steven told them with a smile before he ran to the diner.

"What are ya gonna do, P?" Amethyst asked her.
 
Pearl waited for Steven to leave before she responded. She sat on the couch and crossed her legs saying, "I think I'll stay here, give him a break."
 
"He'll probably spend the night studying and researching," Amethyst said as she shrugged her shoulders. "Indeed. We should probably go with Peridot and see if any of the records she got from her ship or such has any information on this, even if it is from historical archives," Garnet told Pearl.
 
As they headed over to take to Peridot and Lapis, it was a long night for everyone as Steven helped out with Rai at the diner and Diego spent the night researching.

Every hour, his excitement grew and it wasn't long before he had things taped onto walls with strings with scribbled notes. What he was finding out was incredible. Minutes turned into hours.

Before everyone knew it, it was morning. Steven had woken up in his house and he saw the Gems were awake. "Morning everyone!" he said with a smile.

"Rai said she'll be here with what she found out soon, but someone needs to check up on Diego," he noted.
 
"I'll do it." Pearl said getting up from her place on the couch and heading for the door. "I'll see you all later." With that she started walking to Diego's place.
 
"All right, I guess we just wait for Rai then in the meanwhile," Steven noted as he was wondering what the others had found.

Diego had given Pearl a housekey. When she would enter and make her way to his office room, she would see alot of papers tapped and all voer the floors, with his various writiings and such. There was a large stack of books along with the computer still on with various tabs. There was even a corkboard with articles and strings and even taped peices of paper on the wall with circles and such.

Diego meanwhile had fallen asleep on the keyboard. He had worked the night and fell asleep during research.
 
"Maybe you should call her to see when she's going to get here." Amethyst suggested.

Pearl looked around and not wanting to move anything for fear of messing up Diego's work, she stepped over the books and stacks of papers towards the kitchen where she made a pot of coffee.
 
Steven nodded and called Rai. "Hey Rai, it's Steven, you okay?" Steven asked Rai. He was always happy to be with her and he hoped everything was going well.

Diego only bought the coffee pot because it came free with something else. He typically wasn't a big fan of coffee, but he still bought some since he got the pot and he would usually it for tea anyway. The coffee was whenever he would have guests over. Despite this, he liked the smell of coffee and he would enjoy a cup with milk, sugar and a bit of cocoa powder in it.

He slowly began waking up and he would make his way to the kitchen. It took him a moment to register and he smiled upon seeing Pearl. "Good morning, sweetie," he said to her with a smile before he went and hugged her.
 
“I’m not actually feeling good, Steven.” Rai said after she answered the phone. “My Dad did translate everything he could and I gave it to Eridan, she should be dropping it off soon before she goes to work.”

“Morning.” Pearl said as she had begun cooking Diego some breakfast. She turned her head and kissed him.
 
“Oh no! I’ll come over to take care of you,” Steven mentioned to her when she mentioned that she was sick. He did however that note that she said Eridan would be on the way to give them the notes and such on what was translated.

Diego happily returned the kiss that Pearl gave him before he took a seat. “I guess it was surprising on how you found me. I got in my research so much that I guess I went on into the night and fell asleep at my desk,” Diego sheepishly confessed.
 
“No, no I’ll be fine, Steven.” Rai insured him. “It’s just a bit of a stomach bug, nothing to worry about. You should keep investigating the book.”

“It was, I thought you were dead at first.” Pearl said. “It scared me but then I realized you were alright.”
 
“You sure? I mean, Diego probably did a lot of notes and your health is super important,” Steven added as he was debating whether to put the meeting on pause so he could go and help Morgan recooperate. He wondered what got her sick.

Diego embraced Pearl tightly. “I didn’t mean to scare you, sweetie,” Diego said as he kissed her forehead Pearl with a smile. “You had a good evening?” He asked her.
 
“I just need to get some rest.” Rai explained. “I’ll be fine, Steven.”

“It was good, Steven and I talked which was nice.” Pearl explained. When she was done making the eggs she put them on a plate and placed the food on the table.
 
Steven sighed. "All right, if you're sure. I'll still come over in a bit to check up on you," Steven added to her. "I love you and I just want you to be okay," he added. Garnet meanwhile raised an eyebrow before she had to cover her mouth as she saw a surprising future.

"That's good to hear," Diego told her with a smile before he sat down at the table and saw the meal Pearl made. "you're the best," he told her with a sweet smile before he began to dig in.
 
“I love you too.” Rai said. “I’ll talk to you later.” Almost immediately after that was said the doorbell rang.

“Thank you.” Pearl said smiling, proud of her cooking.
 
Steven went to open the door to see who it was there while Amethyst wondered what was it that surprised Garnet, but she decided to keep quiet. It was not her place to say at this point in time.

Diego savored the eggs while he was still waking up. "What I found... is amazing. Like... it changes everything we knew about human history... and.. and.... yeah, I probably need to shower after breakfast to better wake up," Diego said as he tried to explain, but stumbled over his words because he was still waking up. He was excited though.
 
It was Eridan holding the notebook that had been translated by her father. “Morning.” She said.

“We can talk after you eat.” Pearl stated as she sat down at the table.
 
“Good morning Eridan. How are you doing ? Is Rai okay?” Steven asked her as he welcomed her inside. She had the notebook and he was wondering what they were able to find out.

Diego nodded as he continued to eat, while still in thought. As he wiped his mouth, a question came into his mind. “How much did you know in humanity back then?” he asked her.
 
“She’s fine, just a little stomach bug.” Eridan explained. “Nothing to worry about.”

“I saw a lot but I didn’t understand majority of it.” Pearl said. “And because I didn’t understand it I don’t remember a lot of it.”
 
Steven sighed a bit, but couldn't shake off the feeling that there was somerthing else going on. Noentheless, there was nothing that he could do about it. He took the notebook. "If you're sure," Steven said. "You alreayd had breakfast? We could offer something," he added with a lighter tone.

"Well, from what I found, it could be the Gems may have been kept in the dark about some massive secrets about humanity," Diego noted to her before he finished his eggs. "Something that could've impacted Homeworld itself even," he added.
 
“I already ate.” Eridan stated. “Rai just wants me to fill in for her today.”

“If it’s that ancient humans used Gems as makeup, that’s kinda common knowledge at this point.” Pearl stated.
 
"All right then. Have a ncie day then," Steven told Eridan with a smile before he took the notebook and sat down in the living room. "Should we look at this now or wait until Diego and Pearl come back?" Steven asked.

"No, not that. I mean something else. I'll shar eit with everyone when we go to Steven's house," Diego said before he finished. He went over to kiss Pearl. "Thanks for the breakfast, sweetie. I'm gonna take a bath to help wake up," he told her before he cleaned his dishes and put them away.

He entered his shower and savored the hot water. It defnitely felt nice and helped recharge him.
 
“You too.” Eridan said with a nod before leaving.

“Let’s wait, I don’t want to hear Pearl complain about us starting without her.” Amethyst stayed lying on the couch.

While waiting Pearl decided to do some cleaning, picking things up around Diego’s house.
