"There's an apartment above the diner? Didn't know that," Steven commented on it when they ended up there. "I guess that means you get to live close" Steven commented on it with a smile. "I guess some of the fish Sour Cream could catch would end up here," he noted.

"Like what? I mean, we alreayd don't know where Gemkind as awhole came from and it does seem like this could just be a lost part of the Gem struggle here on Earth," Diego noted as he embraced her to comfort her.

"Probably some balance of Greg and Pearl's grame with lighter hair," Garnet said with a smile.
 
"Yeah, my dad's been cleaning it up for Dennis and Sadie but they're talking about moving in with Barb to save up for a house," Rai explained climbing the stairs after locking the door behind her, "so when Alice asked our dad if she could move into it with Sour Cream he gave her the keys. I think he did it as incentive of staying with him and going back to Lars."

"But I thought I knew everything about Gems on Earth." Pearl said wrapping an arm around Diego's waist.

"I wonder if Rai would still be dating him." Amethyst said.
 
"I didn't know that Dennis and Sadie were gonna move in with Barb. Though I figured Barb would wanna spend more time with Mason," Steven noted as they arrived at the place. "Sour Cream has been working hard I heard. Onion even saw him follow his dad a couple of times into the fishing ship," he added as he squeezed her hand. "What would you wanna do for us?" he asked her.

"Well, everyone has secrets to keep and information can be hard to keep track of during wartime," Diego told her as he felt Pearl's arm. He smiled ans wrapped an arm around Pearl before kissing her forehead gem.

"It is fascinating to ponder the various what-ifs. But ultimately, we focus on the here and now and Pearl is happy with a human," Garnet said.
 
"Yeah, they're happy that she'll babysit for free." Rai knocked on the door. "What they didn't know I've been putting all the money I make from babysitting Mason into a bank account for his college. It probably won't pay for tuition but it'll definitely help with books and stuff."

"I love you." Pearl said.

"Yeah." Amethyst said.
 
"Oh wow, that's pretty cool! That'll be a really cool surprise for him when he's older," Steven told her with a smile before thinking for a bit. "What if he decides not to go to college or something," Steven asked Rai.

Diego smiled and kissed Pearl again. "I love you too and whatever the book is hiding, we'll be able to deal with it together," he told her with a smile.

"How have you been feeling about the whole thing?" Garnet asked Amethyst
 
"Easy I'll smack him with a rolled up newspaper until he does." Rai pretending to smack someone with an imaginary rolled up newspaper. "Dennis and Sadie will probably be helping me."

Pearl wrapped her other arm around Diego hugging him. "Thanks."

"Okay I mean it's weird coz I always thought I'd find someone before Pearl but whatevs." Amethyst said with a shrug. "At least I beat her in the sex department."
 
"You don't have to go to college to be succesful. I mean, Dad didn't finish and I'm not sure if I'm going outside of maybe online courses," Steven said as he raised an eyebrow what Rai said in regards. "I wonder if they're busy or something," Steven said as they were still waiting outside the door.

"What else has been going on with you and the Gems?" Diego asked her as he happily hugged her back before kissing her once more.

Garnet just rasied an eyebrow at what Amethyst said in regards to that.
 
"Probably trying to do a quickie." Rai jokingly said before knocking again only louder. "My parents went to college, and now my dad makes like a six figure salary. A lot of jobs today expect you to have a degree or work experience, college makes it easier."

"Just the normal kind of stuff." Pearl explained. "Anything new with you?"

"What? I hooked up with a few humans, just ask Greg." Amethyst said before realizing her wording. "I DID NOT SLEEP WITH HIM, he just saw me flirting. You'd be surprised how much humans like the whole shape shifting thing, but I haven't bedded anyone since Greg built the house and Steven started living with us."
 
"Wonder if they're out," Steven commented as to why they are still waiting while listening to what Rai said in regards to college. "Yeah, that's true, but he doesn't need to," Steven said shrugging his shoulders. "Just as long as he's a good person who knows how to take care of hmself, that's what matters, right?" he added.

"Same. Alice has been spending mroe time with Sour Cream so it's usually just me at the bookstore and things have been pretty all right. Gem activity also has been down outside of one or two attacks, which is pretty quiet," Diego says to her.

Garnet just rasied her eyebrow at this surprising notion of Amthyst's side to her. "It's surprising since you did not seem that close to humans either," Garnet noted.
 
The door opened to Alice who gestured for them to come in. "Sorry." She said.

"It's fine." Rai said as she entered pulling the book out. Sour Cream was sitting on the couch.

"I'm glad they're happy." Pearl said referring to Alice.

"I didn't have to, they normally started flirting with me." Amethyst explained with a wink.
 
"Hey guys, how are you doing?" Steven said as he and Rai entered the apartment. Steven waved to Sour Cream as he was reading. "This looks like a nice place," Steven noted before he did note that Sour Cream did look a bit more muscular and sleepy-looking, probably because of the work he was doing with Yellowtail.

"Likewise. And I'm happy we're together," Diego told Pearl with a smile before kissing her cheek with a smile.

Garnet just smirked. "It's surprising, giving Beach City is rpetty small," Garnet just noted. "What do you think if Pearl had a child like Rose did?" she asked.
 
"We're doing good:" Alice said with a smile. "The computer is right there." She pointed to a small desk supporting a computer and printer that was behind Sour Cream. "Thanks, we're gonna fix it up a bit more but for right now it's good."

Rai walked over to the printer jokingly messing Sour Cream's hair on her way over.

"Me too." Pearl said smiling as she kissed his lips.

"I don't want to imagine her pregnant, that'd be the worst." Amethyst said before looking at Amethyst wide eyed. "Why? Are they going to thane a baby?"
 
"I'm glad you too are happy together. Rai and i didn't expect the double date to go so well," Steven mentioned with a smile as he sat on the sofa with Sour Cream. "Everything been okay at the bookstore?" Steven asked Alice as he looked around the small but nice looking apartment.

"How have you been doing with us? Am I being a good boyfriend?" Diego asked Pearl as he kinda snuggled up to her before kissing her forehead.

"I don't think so, but what would you think if Pearl decided to have a baby," Garent said to Amethyst
 
"I'm happy to be with him." Alice said as she hugged Sour Cream from behind kissing his cheek. "It's been okay, although I haven't been working as much these days."

"You're the best boyfriend I've ever had." Pearl joked kissing him.

"As annoying as she is sometimes," Amethyst sighed, "I'd miss her. Don't tell her I said that."
 
Sour Cream smiled and leaned in to kiss Alice on the cheek. "Have you been thinking of working somewhere else or are you happy working there?" Steven asked the two as he was sitting there and watchin Rai make the copies. "How's everyone have been doing?" Steven asked.

"You flatter me, my pearl princess," Diego complimented her back before kissing her once more, arms wrapped around her as he lifted her lithe body in the air.

"Indeed though I wonder. Is there a possibility for a Gem and a human to have a hybrid without the Gem vanishing? It is interesting to note how little we know about where we Gems have come from," Garnet mentioned.
 
"I am happy there, I've just been busy lately." Alice explained.

"Pretty sure your job takes priority to having sex with your boyfriend." Rai stated teasingly.

Pearl kissed him while wrapping her arms around his neck.

"As cool as that would be, I can't imagine how horrible Greg and Steven would feel knowing there was a way for Rose to still be here." Amethyst sighed. "I know Steven feels guilty enough."
 
Steven just blushed lightly at Rai's forwardness. "Well I'm sure the same goes to you," Sour Cream snarked with a smile back at rai, which caused Steven to blush even more. "Well, there's nothing with potentially finding a new job," Steven added with a smile.

"You are absolutely incredible," Diego told Pearl with a smile before he leaned in to kiss Peark on the neck.

"The future is unpredictable and even if there was a way for one Gem to do it, it doesn't mean it will work for all Gems. It is something to think of," Garnet noted. "We have reassured Steven to not blame himself," she added before she looked out the window. "What do you think of Diego?" he asked her.
 
Rai laughed. "Well I do have a hard time keeping my hands off of Steven. He's just so damn sexy!"

"Not as sexy as this guy." Alice said kissing Sour Cream again.

"I know." Pearl said jokingly. "But you're pretty incredible yourself."

"Yeah and you guys reassured me not to blame myself for the kindergarten but I still guilty about it." Amethyst explained. "That kinda stuff is super emotional and logic doesn't always help. Like I know it's not my fault and that I had no part in creating it but I still feel like because I came from there that I am partially to blame for it. It doesn't make sense and that just makes it worse."
 
Steven just blushed some more at the whole thing while Sour Cream just chucled a bit before kissing Alice back. "I think you're embarassing Steven a bit," Sour Cream pointed out with a bit of a smile. "Hey, if you had kids, what would you call them?" Steven asked them with a curously look on his face.

"I love you so much, Pearl. And I want you to know that always," Diego told her oftly. He would know Pearl from any of the other Pearls homeworld may have and if the Dimaonds would try and take her... he'd shatter them if he would have to.

Garnet just went over to give Amethyst a comforting hug.
 
"You should name them Bacon, Butter, and Cheddar." Rai joked.

"Why?" Alice asked.

"Because the four best toppings for a baked potato are sour cream, butter, bacon, and cheddar cheese. That and Cheddar and Sour Cream is like my favorite chip flavor." Rai explained.

"I love you too." Pearl said kissing him again.

Amethyst hugged her back.
 
Steven raised his eyebrow at Rai's jokes fr the names, especially in regards to the namign theme that Sour Cream and his family had. "Maybe you could name them after Greek food or something, like that Greek yogurt sauce," Steven suggested with a good-natured smile on his face over it.

"Those are all pretty interesting ideas," Sour Cream commented.

Diego returned the kiss before continuing to walk on the beach with her. "Wanna keep walking or return to the beach house or what do you wana do?" he askd her with a smile.

"Feel better?" Garnet asked Amethyst after a while.
 
"Tzatziki?" Rai asked. "That would actually be perfect: it's Greek and some people make it with sour cream."

"How about we cross that bridge when we get to it?" Alice asked.

"We should probably get back the beach house." Pearl replied.

"Yeah." Amethyst said.
 
Sour Cream just chuckled, but he was smiling. He was having fun being here with his friends and he wanted to be with Alice in a serious manner. "Well, it is still something to think about for the future," Steven noted with a smile as he was relaxing on the sofa. "Need any help with the copying?" he asked Rai.

"All righty then," Diego told her with a smile as he picked up and kissed Pearl once more. He loved being emotionally intimate with her whenever he could.

"What do you think of Diego?" Garnet askd in regards to their new human friend.
 
"No I'm good." Rai said with a smile. "I already got a few pages done."

Pearl kissed him back while smiling.

"He's a nerd, but so is Pearl." Amethyst joking said.
 
"Anything I can do to help?" Steven asked Rai while he sat up on the sofa. "Like if not with the copy, then something I can do to help out around the apartment," Steven asked Alice and Sour Cream. Sour Cream just shrugged his shoulders.

"You're so light and I can carry you like this and I like that," Diego told her with a smile as he scooped her up bridal style before walking back to the Beach House. "How do you think the Gems feel about us together?" he asked her.

"Yeah, but they do seem to care about one another aot and that is important," Garnet mentioned.
