League of Heroes........Guardians of Earth (Darkkitten9389 & CrimsonMaster)

When Tristan blew past her ear after creating a blizzard and told herthat this was her chance to get Image back to the jet, Alexandria growled softly before lifting into the air with a hard thrust of her long wings, taking off swiftly with Image firmly in her grasp. Her form flew quickly through the air towards the jet and as she neared it, she began to shrink her form until she was just small enough to fit into the open hatch and she carefully deposited Image into a seat before she shifted back to her human form, already moving to the captains seat and getting them ready to leave. By the time Zandora and Dak were on board, she was ready to go and the moment they stepped on, she had the cloaking device activated and the hatch closing as they took off away from the area. She knew that Tristan would be able to catch up easily.

When he approached where she sat piloting the jet, her hands were gripping the steering controls tightly. She listened to him approach and begin to speak as she guided the jet. He was telling her that Raven keeps very good records on people with powers, whether they were human or mutant, and some of those people he'd never seen before. She nodded slightly, her teeth worrying her bottom lip as she thought to herself. "Oh, I'm positive that the government has been tinkering with things they shouldn't have and they will definitely be using them against us." she murmured. "And I believe I know one of the people behind the creation of these super powered people."

This wasn't the first time that she and Raven had run ins with such people. As she flew the jet, Alexandria's mind went to the one person that they had managed to rescue from the experiments that had been happening to create these special powered people. Whisper. The young woman, barely out of her teens and immensely powerful. She was still under the care of Dr. Simms after it was discovered that the girl was on the verge of suffering an annurism. If it hadn't been discovered, the girl would of died.

With a sigh, Alexandria guided the jet back to the Hall of Heroes to drop off Zandora, softly thanking the magik user and telling her that she owed the young woman one. After that, she took them home to Reed Manor. At home, she carefully but easily landed the jet before shutting it down.
 
Tristan raised an eyebrow when his mother spoke. It was possible that Alexandria knew at least one person behind the creation of the super powered people they faced. Tristan settled back into the other pilot's seat as his mother guided the jet back towards New York. Once they dropped off Zandora, the jet speeded towards home. Alexandria landed the jet, then everyone departed. Eric and the others were waiting for them. They had freed Dak, but there was a conflict. Something that Alexandria wanted to avoid, but it couldn't be helped. Eric had expected some trouble. They were freeing a prisoner after all. Had there been no trouble. Eric would feel a little wary of how easy everything went.

Image was carried from the jet. He was in good spirits, for an android without emotions. The metal supports in his legs and arms were already regenerating. It would be sometime before he was on his feet again. Everyone then settled down to talk over what they encountered. Eric leaned about the 'New People" who appeared at Area 51. Image was able to scan all those who faced the team. They now knew Gator, Twister and Humongous were working for the government. Eric was very interested in the others. As Tristan had said. Eric kept detailed files on everyone with superpowers. He believed that one day, even a friend could become an enemy. Eric wanted to be ready in case a hero went rogue. He then asked Alexandria for her thoughts and concerns? As the team leader. She'd studied each of their foes during the fight. Eric wanted her assessment of thie new people with powers.
 
Alexandria saw the look on Tristan's face when she said about believing that she knew one of the people behind the creation of the super powered people that they'd just faced. But she didn't expand on what she knew. Right now, she wanted to get her thoughts into order first. Tristan then settled into the co-pilots seat while she flew the jet back towards New York. After dropping off Zandora, Alexandria then guided the jet home where she landed with ease and they all departed the jet. The others were awaiting their arrival. Once home, they got out of the jet and filed off, helping Image off the jet.

Image would be incapacitated for a time, but he was already on the mend. They all settled down and sat down to talk about what had happened. Eric was told about the 'New People' that they had gone against and Alexandria sat back in her seat. She listened to the others talking for a while before she was asked for her thoughts and concerns. "I believe that the government has been experimenting on humans. Making their own soldiers with powers." she told Eric. "After all, many of those within power have stated their wishes to control people with powers of any kind. My concern, is how they are doing this and who is helping them." She told Eric that she believed that one of the people helping them was possibly the very same person who had helped to make the other super-powered team that they'd gone up against some time ago.
 
Eric understood who Alexandria was talking about. She didn't need to speak the name for him. However, the others weren't as clued in on who Alexandria was pointing a finger at. Eric saw the confused looks on everyone else. He announced that Alexander Wentworth was the person Alexandria spoke of. Some of the members of his former hero team, were now working with the government. This didn't mean Wentworth was working with, or even had any part in what the government was doing. Clearly the government was building it's own group of super powered people. Recently, so many things were happening which seemed connected, yet there was nothing to tie them together. Zorg making an appearance and trying to drawn Angel onto his side. The government trying to capture mutants like Cassy Marshal. Changeling & Kronos were clearly working together for some outside power. Eric didn't like go forward without a "Plan B". He asked Alexandria to make contact with her new friends. That team of heroes who helped her and Chip escape from the government forces. Blackbird, Danger Girl, Wasp Woman and Scarecrow. Eric wanted Alexandria to bring them on board as backup. He also suggested they contact Street Devil, Dark Justice and anyone else they can think of. If things turned against them. Eric wanted to make sure their asses were covered.

Eric then asked Dak what he remembered while being in custody of the government. Dak spoke of having been captured back in the mid 1960's. That made sense since that's where Eric & Image lost track of him. Dak had been using his powers to help people. The government caught wind of what Dak was doing. It didn't take them long before they knew he wasn't from Earth. The heroes of that time weren't seen as a threat by the government. However, an alien with the powers Dak possessed, was seen as a threat. The government sent a team out and captured Dak. He was then taken to Area 51, where Dak had been kept until freed by Alexandria's team. Dak did speak of hearing guards talk about a Project: Icarus. He had no idea what this project was, but it seemed important. Eric asked Alexandria to reach out to her contacts within the government. He wanted her to find out what this Project: Icarus was all about. Who was running it and where was it based. The government had used Dak like a lab rat. He spoke of how they experimented on him. How they took samples of his skin, and even of his sperm. There was no telling what the government used Dak's sperm for. But, clearly they weren't using it for anything good.

Several days passed without any word of the raid on Area 51. The government wasn't going to openly admit to anything taking place in the desert. However, several UFO web sites posted stories and even blurry pictures taken of what looked like a battle between super powered beings happening on the base. The government dismissed the photos and stories as being hoaxed. Still, enough people were now talking about a possible war between super powered people. Several days afterwards, the government called for a meeting with the League of Heroes. The league agreed to meet with whomever the government sent. However, Eric & Alexandria weren't pleased. They could feel that something was up. Tristan, Adam & Image weren't league members. Eric & Alexandria wanted to keep them on the outside. Just in case of trouble. Eric, Alexandria & Tina would be attending the meeting.
 
Alexandria was reluctant to speak the name of Alexander Wentworth. The man had become an occasional lover since the fundraiser gala that she had fucked him at. She had advised him to be careful of dealing with the man who claimed to have figured out the serum that had created Cap. After that, they had even partnered up on several projects which had brought both their companies plenty of money. The two had even been seen together a couple of times. Usually having lunch or dinner while they discussed business. But tabloids being what they were, had started the rumor that the Queen of the elite in the city was being wooed by Wentworth. Her thoughts went to this briefly before she sighed and looked at Eric as he announced that Wentworth was the person that she spoke of. He had been the one who had created his own group of super powered people. However now, several members of that hero team were now working for the government. Alexandria didn't want to think he was working for the government by creating super-powered beings, the idea leaving a bad taste in her mouth, but she was aware that it was a possibility.

The government was trying to capture very strong mutants, such as Cassy Marshal, something that Alexandria had prevented. And then there was Changeling and Kronos who were working with an outside power, whom they didn't know much about as of yet. It was the same with Zorg trying to take Angel onto his side, the strange empathetic being refusing to work for him and returning to their home instead. Now she happily worked as a nanny, taking care of Eric and Alexandria's son and looking forward to the birth of the next little one that Alexandria was now carrying.

When Eric asked Alexandria to make contact with her new friends, she nodded. She knew that he was talking about the team of heroes who had helped her and Chip escape from the forces hunting Chip. Something she was very grateful for. The way the government was acting reminded her of why she disliked them in the first place. "Of course. I'll get in contact with them asap." she told Eric. After that, Eric began to question Dak about what he'd remembered while being in custody of the government. As he told them of what he'd been through and what they'd done, she frowned. What they had done was nothing new and didn't surprise her, but it still disgusted her. When Dak mentioned Project: Icarus, she looked up quickly. She'd heard of this project before, but she didn't know much about it. She nodded when asked to reach out to her contacts about it and she told him that if there was information to be found, she and her people would find it.

The days after that seemed to pass slowly, but they passed without mention of what had happened at Area 51. But despite no mention of it, she didn't let her guard down. But she did get on with her work. She contacted Blackbird, Danger Girl, Wasp Woman and Scarecrow, letting them know that she and Raven just might need their help soon because of trouble brewing. At the same time, she also remembered the extraordinary man who had interrupted the dealings that the Jester was having. He had been an extremely powerful man and with him in mind, she began to subtly ask questions about who he was, both asking the police and some of the underground people she knew. It wasn't long before she got a name. One Lincoln Rhodes. It was actually a name that was sort of familiar to her. She remembered reading it on an applicant who was requesting funds from the Reed Foundation to build a recreation building for the kids, something she actually whole heartedly supported. With this in mind, she asked Casey to schedule an appointment with the man so that she could see him. It would be at her private office that she usually worked out of instead of at Reed Foundations.

It wasn't long after that, that she was informed that the government was calling for a meeting with the League of Heroes and she made a face when Eric told her before sighing. She knew that they had to meet with them, but she told Eric that she could feel it in her bones that something was up and she didn't trust this. However, the league agreed to meet with whomever the government sent. So she and Eric both agreed to keep Tristan, Adam and Image out of this.
 
If Alexandria thought the governments actions with Dak, disgusted her. She would be even more disgusted once she found out what they did with the samples they took from him. Project: Icarus, was nothing short of the government playing God. One could even say they were creating abominations. But, not everything created by the government will be evil. Some would only be misguided and fooled into believing the government was working for the good of all people. Even in the government, not everyone was corrupted. Not everyone was apart of President Gates and his plans. Even those close to the president, didn't know who was really backing his rise to power.

Wasp Woman and her team, were pleased when Alexandria contacted them. They were also pleased to help out when she asked them to become back up for them. It would be a great honor to work with Raven & Scarlet Cat. It wouldn't be hard for Raven & Scarlet Cat to find the help they would need as things turned against them. The heroes would find out soon enough. The meeting with the government would be the beginning of a troubling time for the family of heroes. Tristan, Image and Adam were being held back. They would be needed as things turned badly. However, they weren't apart of the league and wouldn't be at the meeting.

The meeting with the government happened a few days later. All the league members were there, except for Thundra who was away visiting Asgard. Also, Zandora and her father Zandu just started their world tour and wouldn't be returning for sometime. Not unless they were needed for something special. The main meeting room of the Hall of Heroes, was filled with all members, both current and the older, original heroes, such as Black Tiger, Mr. Outrageous and Phantom Girl. Though, this Phantom Girl wasn't the original. She was the daughter of the original, but no one, expect for Alexandria & Eric knew this as fact.

The meeting started when Baxter Hansen, the Deputy Secretary of State, General Gordon Stockwell and some armed soldiers arrived at the hall. The sight of the armed soldiers didn't sit well with any of the heroes. Despite what they thought of the current government. However, General Stockwell assured them. The soldiers were just here for security means and nothing else. Hansen started the meeting by telling the heroes, they'd done some great work over the years. He raised them for saving New York City, the country and the world more times then anyone could count. Then came the however. Which didn't surprise Scarlet Cat, Raven, or Star girl. Hansen added that current events had colored the heroes, and people with powers in a bad light. He said they were heroes, then said some thought they were vigilantes, even more dangerous then the so called super villains. While speaking this way. Hansen was standing behind where Scarlet Cat, Raven and Stargirl were sitting. He pointed towards current events such as the trouble in Russian and the UFO flap which happened at Area 51. Hansen admitted it wasn't a UFO, but an attack on a government base by people with powers. Without coming out and saying it. Hansen was clearly singling out Scarlet Cat and her family.
 
The day of the meeting with the government, Alexandria showed up in her Scarlet Cat form. She was in her usual black leather body suit and corset with her boots. However, because of her condition, she had to adjust how she wore her tight clothing. Arriving at the Hall of Heroes, Scarlet Cat greeted her team mates before they head into the meeting room where they would be hosting their visitors. When Deputy Secretary of State Baxter Hansen and General Gordon Stockwell arrived with some armed soldiers, Scarlet Cat narrowed her eyes even while General Stockwell assured it was just for securtity measures and she made a soft sound in the back of her throat before leaning back in her seat.

The feral shapeshifter listened as Hansen began speaking of how the heroes had done great work over the years and he praised them for saving New York City, the country and the world plenty of times. Even as he was speaking, Scarlet Cat was waiting to hear the 'but' part of his pretty little speech, which was bound to come. And sure enough it came. He spoke of current events painting heroes and people with powers in a bad light. He spoke of how they were heroes yet some believed that they were vigilantes even more dangerous then the so called super villains. While he was speaking, Scarlet Cat was on high alert with him standing behind her and she was very tense. She kept her facial features carefully schooled to not show the aggravation she had with the man as he pointed out the trouble in Russian and the UFO flap which happened at Area 51.

After he admitted about it being not a UFO but an attack on a government base by people with powers, she finally turned her head and looked at the man from the corner of her eye. "We are all aware of the trouble raised with Russia." she said, her voice soft yet carried through the room. "However, could you elaborate about the attack on Area 51? Are you trying to say one of us were involved?" Alexandria turned her gaze away from Baxter and then looked at General Stockwell, her feline gaze watching him. Before the meeting, Alexandria and Raven had carefully constructed a solid alibi for the shifter in case the attack on Area 51 had been brought up and anyone was accused of the attack.
 
Hansen was about to answer Scarlet Cat. He was cut off when General Stockwell started talking. " The events at Area 51 are still being looked into.......However we have enough evidence which shows at least one shifter and maybe more then one was involved. " General Stockwell spoke while looking at Scarlet Cat. " No one is saying anyone in this room was involved.......However......Not everyone in this room has shifting powers......Do they Scarlet Cat? " Stockwell added, he then asked where Zandora was? He spoke of someone like her being caught on security cameras at the base. The government really wanted to speak with her. Protector said Zandora was away and wouldn't be back for sometime. Stockwell nodded his head. He started walking around the room. " Things are going to change from this point on........You superheroes are more trouble then you're worth......You fly around forcing your will on anyone you wish.......You cross boarders without permission......You take the law into your own hands......The governments of the world are no longer willing to just let you invade their lands whenever you wish. " Just as Stckwell finished speaking. Hansen tossed a thick, almost book like presidential order onto the table.

" From this moment on.......You'll be working for the United States and the United Nations.........You'll only take action if the president or the Secretary General of the United Nations deems action is needed.......Anyone who signs on will become special agents......Everyone else will retire or become outlaws. " Hansen spoke. His eyes shifting from Scarlet Cat, to Raven, to Stargirl. The teenager was glaring daggers at Hansen. Stockwell stated that anyone becoming an outlaw, would be hunted like the outlaws of the old west. He said they had prison cells which could hold anyone. No matter how strong they were. His words brought Stargirl to her feet. She was about to verbally rip into the general, but was stopped when Raven grabbed her arm. Everything said and done by the government so far, was expected by Raven. Despite what he and Alexandria came up with. They knew no alibi would be good enough for the government. Not during a time when most of the news outlets were working for them. Raven asked Stargirl to sit down. As she did so, he rose to his feet. " I can condone working for any one government.......Or governments as a whole.......That would keep us from acting and saving lives......If we don't act independently then people will suffer......We could be held back if needed.....Or sent somewhere else when troubles starts elsewhere.......I'll not become an agent for President Gates. " Raven spoke while moving away from the table. " I'll also not stop saving or helping those in need.......If you wish to tag me as an outlaw....Then an outlaw I'll become.....The rest of you can do what you think is best. " Raven's words were the line drawn in the sand. He stood with Scarlet Cat on his right and Stargirl now on his left.

Protector then stood. She said they shouldn't stand against the government. They should work with it. Clearly Raven & Protector were positioning themselves as leaders of separate factions. It was now time for the remainder of the league to decide where they would go. Black Tiger, Mr. Outrageous and Phantom Girl moved to join Raven. As did Captain Liberty, Psy Girl, Jinx, her brother Blur, Micro Man and Photon. Giganta said she couldn't pick sides, not now. She decided to retire. The rest, Crimson Archer, Lighting, Arachnia, Ice, Silver Streak and Ghost sided with Protector.

Blaze and She Beast also decided to retire. Neither said they could fight against their friends. The battles lines had been drawn. Raven and those following him left the Hall of Heroes. Leaving the other behind. Once outside, Raven gave each of them a new communicator for their ears. He said they should lay low for a while. Raven told them, he or Scarlet Cat would contact them when needed. The group split up. Raven, Scarlet Cat and Stargirl returned to Reed Enterprises. Scarlet Cat had another meeting with Lincoln Rhodes that same day. She hoped to get his power on their side. Alexandria was informed that Mr. Rhodes was early for his meeting. He was eager to get funding for his project in Harlem from the Reed Family Foundations.
 
Scarlet Cat's attention was quickly drawn to General Stockwell when he spoke up and she looked at him again as he spoke about the events at Area 51 still being looked into. His comment about not everyone in the room having shifting powers made her tilt her head slightly while looking at the man. "This may be true. But I'm hardly the only one in the world with them." she told him before he asked where Zandora was. Protector answered that the girl was away and wouldn't be back for some time. After that, the conversation began to go down hill in Scarlet Cat's opinion. Stockwell spoke of them being more trouble then they were worth and Hansen tossed a thick presidential order upon the table. He told them that from that moment on, they would be working for the United States and the United Nations. That they would only be taking action if it was deemed necessary.

When he looked at the shifter, Scarlet Cat had a cold look in her eyes and she watched him shift his gaze from her to Raven and then Stargirl. He went on to state that any who chose to become outlaws would be hunted like the outlaws of the old west and that they had prison cells which could hold anyone, no matter how strong. These words caused her daughter to surge to her feet but Raven grabbed her arm and Scarlet Cat looked over at the teen without saying anything. Instead, Raven took to his feet after Stargirl sat once more. Instead he spoke to Hansen and General Stockwell, the red haired woman listening to him as he drew a clear line of where he stood and she nodded. She would stand with him, she didn't need to say anything for him to know this. Besides, she'd been an outlaw before. "I offered to work willingly for the United States government years back. And its men like you who spit in my face and said I wasn't useful because of my gender." she told the men. "And now they want to force me under their control."

After that, their teammates began to divide themselves into three groups. A group headed by Protector who said that they shouldn't stand against the government, a group headed by Raven as those going against what the government was demanding and then a group which decided to retire. It pained Scarlet Cat to see those she saw as friends and comrades divided, but what the government was demanding was wrong. When Giganta said she couldn't pick sides and when Blaze and She Beast said they couldn't fight their friends, Scarlet Cat told them that they would hold no ill will against them and she wished them all well. After that, Raven began to lead their group out and Scarlet Cat turned to the rest of the room. "I regrettably worked for people like you and your president before. A lot of people died because of them." she told Baxter before looking at the heroes who decided to work for the government. "I wonder when they'll decided to tattoo a number on your arms as well." This was all she said before turning and leaving the hall after her friends. Clearly her remark was comparing the president and his government to the Nazis that she'd worked with many years ago.

The woman was able to easily catch up to the others as Raven was handing out a new communicator for their ears and he said that they should lay low for a while. That he or Scarlet Cat would contact them when needed. Afterwards they all split up. Scarlet Cat and her family returned to Reed Enterprises where she had a meeting with Lincoln Rhodes that same day. With the way the meeting had gone with the government, she wanted to get his power onto their side. She would be contacting plenty of other friends later. But for now, she was informed that Mr. Rhodes was early for his meeting and Alexandria was pleased to hear this and she said to send him into her office.

By then, she was back in her Alexandria Reed form. She had long dark hair and was wearing a leather pencil skirt and a fitted black blouse with black stiletto heels. She was professional yet very sexy as she stood by the windows of her office behind her desk overlooking the city, waiting for Mr. Rhodes to be sent in.
 
Scarlet Cat's parting words weren't empty or lost on anyone. Hansen & Stockwell didn't like that she compared them Nazi Germany. She didn't understand what was being done here. It was better if the heroes had the backing of their government and other governments around the world. Such man didn't know the real power behind President Gates. If they did, they may not here right now. The remaining heroes were left wondering if they made the right choice. Ghost looked at her arm after Cat spoke of numbered tattoos. Protector was left feeling very empty at the moment. She'd fought beside Scarlet Cat & Raven the longest. Protector didn't support President Gates during his campaign, but he won and was the president. Protector felt it was the job of every good American to put aside their feelings and work towards making the country better for everyone. A tear ran down Samantha's face. She realized, the next time she saw her friends, they would be outlaws and she would have to fire on them. Because of her armor. No one could see her shedding a tear.


Lincoln Rhodes was just two years out of prison. He served almost 8 years for a murder he didn't commit. Linc, as he known to his friends, was framed by his former best friend. A man Linc had been trying to take down since he returned to Harlem. This man was Rico Jones. Jones had set himself up as a crime boss and controlled all of Harlem. This made Jones a target by street levels heroes like Dark Justice and Street Devil. They're goal was to take down the crimes bosses of the city. Linc had recently joined them on this quest. However, it was a massive job since men like Roman Tyco, Tony Paris and Cyrus Block wouldn't just roll over and give up.

Linc was shown into Alexandria's office. He'd seen her many times in newspapers and on television. But, that wasn't the same as seeing Alexandria in the flesh. She was regarded as one of the most beautfiful women in the world. Linc could see this was no news spin. Alexandria was stunning and looked very sexy as she stood near the window of her office. " Ahhhhh...........Thank you for meeting with me Ms. Reed...........I hope our meeting will end with both of us satisfied. " Linc spoke while holding out his hand towards Alexandria. He did stumble with his words in the beginning. Only because Alexandria was far more sexier then he could have guessed. The meeting started after they sat down. Alexandria had done a background check and knew all about Linc's past. Her connects told her he was framed, and yet served the time for murder. Linc was released early because he was a model prisoner. Her connects couldn't find out how he got his unbreakable skin and super strength. Even dressed in a suit. Lincoln Rhodes was quite a man. Built from top to bottom.
 
Even though it hadn't shown on her impassive face when she left them, Scarlet Cat was hurt just like some of those she'd left behind, if not more so because of her feline nature. Her being was driven by the want for a family. Of a pride. And her comrades were all a part of that pride. To be forced to fight against them like this caused the feline side of her to become angry. But not at her friends. But at the president and at those working for him. If she was forced to hurt those she cared about, there would be no way for those like Hansen and Stockwall, to survive this unscathed.

After asking for Linc to be shown in, Alexandria listened to the door open and she heard the mans footsteps. Turning her head, she looked at Linc from over her shoulder as he moved further into her office. She glanced past him for a moment to see the door closing, knowing that Casey would make sure that she was uninterrupted while she had her meeting. Unless there was some kind of emergency of course. As Linc began speaking, Alexandria turned to face him the rest of the way as he thanked her for meeting with him and she smiled gently, her face filling with warmth as she moved towards him and she placed her hand into his. Her handshake was firm and strong, telling of the confidence she had in herself. "You're welcome. When I read the file, I became very interested." she told him as she released his hand and motioned for him to sit. "And I'm sure our meeting will end in mutual satisfaction." She moved over to the chair behind her desk and sat down.

The woman had noticed his stumbled words at first, but she made no mention of it. Once seated, Alexandria began speaking about his request. "I've received many different requests for funding of many projects. But this is one of the few that really speaks to me." she told Linc, folding her hands and placing them on top of the file in front of her. "However, I would like to hear more from you about you and what you wish to do. After all, a piece of paper only conveys so much about a person and their wishes."
 
Linc took the seat that was offered him. He wasn't a man of wealth. His suit cost less then Alexandria spends on lunch on a typical day. However, he was a proud man, but even a proud man needs help now and then. This was the reason why he was here. He wanted money to build a decent recreation center for the kids in Harlem. He hoped by giving them a nice place to go and hang out. That would keep them away from the gangs, drugs and men like Rico Jones. Linc explained this after Alexandria asked for him to speak more about why he was here. " Ms. Reed.......I've spent time in prison......I've seen many horrible things happen to good young people.......Men like Rico Jones.......Tony Paris........Roman Tyco and Cyrus Block are like a pledge sucking the life out of our youth.......This center I wish to open will give the kids of Harlem a safe place to go......I also hope the center can expand into other areas of New York......Serving people of all colors.
