Snipping the Puppet's Strings [-Haru|vampire-]

Aiko giggled as he peppered her with kisses and such but when he asked what she wanted she just looked at him in silence. For once she had this lost look about her but Algon cleared his throat.

"Dismiss your guards, Princess." He walked beyond Okoru but stopped when she answered.

"I...I don't know how to." Aiko's expression never changed as the old man looked at her closely.

"How did you create them?" His hand tightens on his staff.

"I don't know." Aiko ran her hand over the side of her head. "I don't know what I want anymore." That raised alarm with Algon who snapped at Okoru to bring her back to the cabin. He commented on disconnecting her from the power source or the strings. It wasn't her who was controlling the elements but the elements controlling her. Which would explain why her tone was so dead with her facial expressions.

The concernthat Aglon expressed over Aiko could not be missed, and though Okoru was sure that he'd have caught the same thing, it was only hinted at by the lost expression on her face and he wondered what sort of magic this was, that sapped the caster so much. Keeping Aiko in his arms the big Asuran carried her easily, and would quickly follow Aglon back to the cozy cabin, the elemental warriors following along silently, but stopping at the edge of Aglon's property, now warded from their intrusion, though even as Okoru carried his beloved, they did not disappear, but paced the edge of the property liked caged animals. Like caged Asurans. If one had wanted her to imitate Okoru's behavior, then it had been replicated.

Once inside it seemed that some of the tension eased a bit, though Okoru sat with Aiko on his lap, a look of concern on his face. Rubbing her back he looked at Aglon and asked, "o does she just need time, or is there some way you can sever those ties?"

Algon shook his head. "She had a week to sever those ties. Whatever happened she tapped into something more powerful than her and is using her to get out. I think I know what it is and her life is in danger." Directing Okoru to lay Aiko on a stone table but there was symbols etched in the old table. Soon as Aiko touched it she cried out in pain and her nails dug into Okoru's flesh hard enough to draw blood.

"GET ME OFF OF THIS DEVICE!!!!" Device, not table, whatever had a hold on Aiko was speaking.

"Donate, get out of my student!" Algon snapped as he turned his back on Aiko while demonic symbols appeared over her face, her sheer soft blue wings turned red and spiked out. Algon was mixing up a solution and boiled it while the table suddenly grabbed Aiko's wrists and legs to keep her there. "This cabin was built over a battle field this land is cursed by a demon who used magic of others to increase his own. Her being out there in a trance....He saw his opening and snatched her in hopes of using her to continue his work of destroying humans, feys, elves....Basically open a portal and make our lands a living hell." Algon said knowing he made a mistake. "I had hoped by not saying anything and her elven blood wouldn't get his attention. I was wrong...Not even feys or druids have stepped on this old battlefield in centuries for the fear of being used and killed." Algon was suddenly looking much older as he turned the boiling potion over Aiko.

The potion didn't burn her but traced down over her forehead, down her cleavage creating a protection mark. After the mark appeared it glowed softly with Aiko thrashing to the point she was vomiting a black vile ooze until she was struggling to breathe afterwards.

"That son of a bitch..." Algon growled at the ooze and it moved right into the fireplace to die. "She was his host...That's why she was lost he fed her while she was in the trance and he used her mind. Now since she purged his so called food and we got a protection seal but its not permanent fix. I think it'll be best for all of us is she stay here and continue to gain her own control. I am impressed she tapped into Nature's power but in an unsafe area made her defenseless." Algon tapped on the table and it released Aiko with her coughing, no longer in pain, she just looked tired.

"Okoru..." Aiko turned her head with the fire light flickered over her face. Her bright green eyes sparkled once more with a look of discomfort on her face. "I'm starving..." A weak smile appeared on her lips just as Algon busted out laughing. He mentioned she's back.

Okoru was grinning and quick to head to the kitchen, carrying Aiko with him and setting her in one of the chairs as he started looking for something to eat. "I was really worried about you." he said, and asked Aglon what there was to eat before one of the homonculi came and began to prepare something. Okoru took a seat beside Aiko and drped an arm about her shoulders. He was glad to have her back and though this situation seemed temporary, he was going to talk with Aglon about how to sever the cnnection entirely and put Aiko back in control.

Algon noticed the look of worry on his face but Aiko seemed to out of it to notice anything that was to be said. "This land near the cabin is safe for her to practice on tapping into the power source. Though she may have to have a seal tattooed on her to keep the demon from attaching itself once more. Though since she's marked I doubt a tattoo isn't out of the question." He teased about Okoru's markings on Aiko's shoulder and neck.

Aiko opened her eyes seeing a bowl of stew placed before her. In moments she was gulping the hot stew down not even bothering on chewing the meat and vegetables.

Algon though was looking relieved. "His attack on her proves her bloodline reaches back to his age which is rare. Okoru, not only she will have to train to control these Asurans but you will have to battle with her as her partner so if she gets out of control you can bring her back."

The ribbing from the old man brought a chuckle from Okoru and he sat with Aiko to eat, but even his pace was outdone by Aiko this time, the slight girl quite famished. "We'll do whatever needs to be done, and I don't plan to leave her alone to fight her battles by herself. I'll do what I can to pull her back from the brink." he promised.

Dipping some bread into the stew to soak up the broth, Okoru watched Aiko carefully. She seemed to be herself now, and for that he was glad. Now that she had found this power it was a matter of gaining and then keeping, control. She wasn't done yet, and Okoru was glad they were here when she found that well of power and not out alone with him somewhere. That could have been disastrous.

Algon sat there watching the two. "Even if you're deathless, Okoru. But...I want her to be able to use all elemental skills at once in case you become separated from her." Advising the large lion as he watched Aiko getting another bowl of the stew with her mopping up the broth. "She does show similar traits of as an Asuran." Chuckling as Aiko showed signs of getting her fill.

The young half bred got up and left the men alone while she went to the large room then slipped into the bathroom. There she waved her hand with water beginning to flow freely. Algon did have a look of worry on his face but he looked to Okoru. "She'll be marked by end of the week. Her mother may disapprove but not just her life is in danger...Everyone's life is in danger if her will isn't strong enough to resist that foul demons temptations."

The words that Aglon used didn't help Okoru's fears dissipate at all, and the large white lion shook his head. "We need to sever those strings no matter the cost. Aiko cannot fall prey to that demon. Not just for herself, but for her people as well. Too much rides on her shoulders as it is." Okoru said. By now he'd finished his meal and he looked at Aglon. "I think she should try to rest Regain her strength before we try to confront this demon. Did you say that you know the name of the foul beast?" he asked, the whirlwind of events making him unsure if he'd heard it. "I have heard that if you know a demon's true name that you can banish it, or even destroy it."

Algon shook his head sadly. "His or her name has been lost in the sands of history and refuses to repeats their name. This one is old enough to know every trick in the book of us mortals. Our existence rests on Aiko's shoulders....Or are you saying...She's not strong nor willful enough to face this demon alone without you or I?" Algon's question did bring up an important point. Did Okoru actually trust Aiko's instincts, his own training he gave to her, her own intelligence? "If I was you, Okoru.... I'd wonder if I can actually put my own life in her hands. From what I can see... She held him off this long at a steady week long then I trust she can use this demon to your advantage."

Algon held an empty mug up as the creature rushed over filling it. "You raised a wonderful child into a beautiful young...Strong...Sexually independent woman. Continue to be a positive male figure in her life and things will fall in to place." He took a swig of his ale with a harsh cough. "I wish I could have been more like you when my daughter was alive. She wasn't prepared and disappeared for the demon's name. William found her journal telling us of her research but I no longer feel her presence on this plane. A young, sweet, wonderful girl taken because of her own independent noble cause."

With a frown at Aglon's words, Okoru shook his head. "I do not doubt Aiko, nor do I doubt her abilities. However, you and I both know she came here for training, and as such, she is not yet fully in control of what she can and canot do. If she can be influenced by this demon while she is training, then I am sure he will seek to influence her to tempt her. That is what demon's do - tempt people. She might not know what power is her own, nor what power is being used to influence her. I believe she is strong enough to withstand him and to vanquish him... so long as she can determine when and if he is trying to hold sway over her." Okoru was obviously concerned, and had full fiath in Aiko, but if there was some way they could help her then he wanted to do so.

Algon nodded to the large Lion who showed great deal of faith in Aiko. "You're right but as long she doesn't venture off from the border then she's safe. Those Asurans that still pace outside the border won't pass since they are part of it's influence."

While the men talked Aiko laid in the hot waters of the large tub. Her gaze was distant as she seemed to be searching within her own memories. She remembered going to the forest but soon as she sat down exhaling, she woke up coughing with Algon and Okoru looking scared. Did she do anything wrong? No, they claimed the Asurans she so called created just made some noise. Groaning she sat up rubbing her face as a male's voice had seemed to entice her yet it was familiar to a point. It wasn't Okoru's voice that lured her in but yet she remembered another male and a female shouting in the distance. "Samantha....What was the other name I heard..." Aiko felt like her head was going to split open with it throbbing like it was. "Why does that name sound so familiar?" Slowly she got out of the bath with the waters beading down over her flesh just as she pulled her robe on then walked out to where Okoru and Algon sat. "Do either of you know a Samantha?"

That name made Algon drop his mug with its contents spilling out over the table. Even William who was walking in did stop in his tracks. Both men looked ghostly white while Aiko stood behind Okoru with her hands on his shoulders. William was the first to speak up but in a soft voice. Samantha was Marcus's mother and William's sister; the men looked at Aiko wondering how she knew but she looked down offering her apologies for their loss.

Okoru did have deep faith in Aiko but it was said that demon's could draw mortals to do terrible things, and though Aiko was not exactly mortal, she was not beyond their influence. That Aglon thought she was strong enough to resist made a lot of difference in Okoru's eyes and the Asuran relaxed. At least a little. He was about to get up and go check on his mate when she re-entered the room and asked about a woman named Samantha. Okoru was not familiar, but the look on the faces of the other men told the story and he also gave condolences. "How did you know that name?" he asked Aiko, softly. If the demon had claimed the woman, as Aglon had said, then it was possible she might even be able to help Aiko in some way.

Aiko fell silent for the simple reason of unable to describe how she knew about the name. Though her hands held onto Okoru's shoulders with her fingers running through his fur. "I don't know honestly. Before you two appeared I heard two voices; one voice sounded familiar because of dialogic, he was from Kyonin...A royal line. He yelled out the name Samantha and to keep the defense line strong. The woman shouted about she won't allow another to fall to the Demon's grasp."

Aiko stood there still seeing Algon's face lightening up abit. "What is it?"

"If you heard her voice then it means she's not truly gone!" Algon seemed excited about this bit of news but William grabbed his father's shoulder.

"Father, this demon could be using Aiko to influence you to perhaps open a portal to retrieve Samantha when in reality she's dead." For once in weeks William's voice held a tone of sadness in it. "I can't allow you to risk everyone's lives to risk one last shred of hope she's alive. She's been gone for 29 years." Algon looked to be in rage but he had raised Marcus since Samantha disappeared and he never said anything other than William was his brother. In social wise William treated Marcus like he was his little brother but on the family tree they were Uncle and Nephew; Marcus knew the truth when he turned 26 years old when they thought he was mentally ready. Aiko silently went to Algon moments before he began to break down in tears and she helped him up to escort him to his bedroom.

William on the other hand stayed with Okoru and waited until they were alone. "Does Aiko know any male royalty of Kyonin who'd risk their life for her?" He looked to Okoru as there was pain in his eyes of missing his sister but even he knew his sister wouldn't want her father to risk other lives to bring just her back or even if there was a slim chance of her coming back. "If I remember right from hearing your conversations with my Father and Aiko...She never really knew any Royal Elven Males in Kyonin from personal interactions. So who or what was the offense line that kept Aiko safe until you and my father found her?"

The lion watched and listened to the conversation between Aiko and Aglon, and realized that there was nothing he could say to assuage the elderly man, and so he kept his own counsel and looked to William as the man asked about the Royal Line in Kyonin. Okoru shook his head. "Aiko was protected by a line of Asurans, patterned after myself I believe. We spoke and she loved how I have defended her and how I am tied to her as Deathless. She doesn't know any Royalty that would give their life for her except her mother, though many might have pledged their fealty their loyalties would waver under duress I am sure." he explained. He could think of no males right off-hand, and most had never approached Aiko due to their caution around him.

William deciding not to ask anymore questions as he nodded when he saw Aiko leaving his sobbing father's room. "I think she needs you tonight. I'll restrain myself when it comes to training." Smirking to the lion as Aiko walked back out to them to kiss Okoru's cheek. Aiko nuzzled Okoru's cheek before heading back to their room. There she laid back on the large bed but soon as her body touched the bed it was there she noticed how exhausted and worn out she was.

"We should let her rest after her ordeal." Okoru said simply, and would smile as Aiko kissed his cheek. "We'll be back out later for some supper." Okoru told William and soon would follow Aiko back to their room. Finding her there in the bed Okoru joined her, lying on his side next to her and just caressing a hand up over her tummy. "How are you feeling?" he asked her quietly as his hand just moved slowly along her skin. He wasn't trying to entice her, but was simply lending comfort to his beloved.

To just feel his hand was relaxing with her laying on top of the sheets. Aiko turned to look at him with her smiling softly at him. "Just exhausted and confused about why two people I have no connection to would..." Aiko closed her eyes and shook her head. "You know what I just want to forget it and just cuddle." With a soft smile she pulled a sheet over her naked form while she moved nuzzling his chest. "What...You still got your armor on. Were you ready to go into battle to find me?"

Often forgetting that he was wearing it, since his armor was like a second skin, Okoru chuckled but nodded. "Of course I was prepared to go into battle for you my love." he told her. "Give me a moment and I will get rid of it." he said, and would stand from the bed to discard his armor, piling it in the corner where it had been before. Then he slid back into the bed with Aiko, and pulled her into his arms.

She watched him get up to strip down to his loincloth. A smile crossed her lips as she forgotten about him in his tiny loin cloth. "Did you get bigger during the week?" Laughing softly but when he pulled her closer to him making her blush. Now back in his arms she curled up to him to feel his soft fur rubbing against the side of her cheek. Aiko moaned softly in a more contented sound. "I love you. I'm glad you found me and not some other Asuran."

There was a chuckle as she asked if he'd gotten bigger and he said, "I always get bigger around you." Then as they cuddled and she once more professed her love, Okoru felt compelled to answer. "I love you too Aiko. I always will." Okoru spoke to her and slid under the sheet with her, to press soft fur to her warm skin.

Aiko couldn't help but to run her fingers through his fur over his arms then along his sides. Her soft lips moved against his chest though with a smile she pushed him back to where he was lying on his back. Instead of mounting him or simply straddling him as most lovers would do; she nestled in the crock of his arm and shoulder. There she laid her head on his shoulder. Her back in his side while she let his hand slip to cup her inner thigh and her hands grasping his arm.

Okoru took Aiko's affections eagerly, and let her settle into the crook of his arm, his massive forearm draped down over one soft breast while his hand caressed her inner thigh. There was no move to initiate sex, though he had to admit that he was sorely tempted, and Okoru simply closed his eyes and relished the feeling of her silky skin beneath his calloused fingers. The softness of his mate was an aphrodisiac in and of itself, and Okoru could lose himself in those thighs of hers. His nostrils flared a bit as he took in the scent of her, and a soft rumbling purr started in his chest as he held her close in his arms.

A sharp gasp left her lips as she felt his thumb move ever so slight on her inner thigh. Blushing as his soft fur that covered his strong form pressing against her back was tempting as well. She moaned his name ever so softly while she closed her eyes as she missed this connection with him. Aiko nuzzled against his arm with her fingers moving up his strong arm then she ran her fingers down through his fur. To be encased in his strong arms was enough for her at the time but when morning came, he may not be safe from her. Slowly she fell to sleep with her soft snores filling the room as it signaled she felt safe to just let go to fall to sleep in moments of closing her eyes.

Okoru's purring did not stop as he felt Aiko's breathing steady out, and her heartbeat slowed. He knew she was falling asleep and soon her breath was deep and soft sounds of contentment came from her as her body fell into a state of rest. The big lion remained where he was and soon fell into a light slumber himself, quite happy to simply hold her as he was.

The hours of the day passed and by the time Okoru awoke the sun had set and the smells of food wafted through the home. It was late evening from the way he felt, and both he and Aiko had relaxed further into the bed with Okoru spooning her smaller form with his larger one. Kissing her hair Okoru extricated himself and got up to walk to the bathroom to relieve himself before going back to the bed and kissing Aiko's cheek. Asurans were notorious for their highly efficient metabolism, and even as he did this Okoru's tummy rumbled. "Aiko my love, I am going to go and grab some dinner." he told her, and whether or not she heard him, Okoru began to pull on some clothing to make himself presentable.

The feeling of him moving made her groan with discontent that he was moving. After awhile she was waking up to him kissing her cheek. A smile crossed her lips as she ran her fingers under his chin while she heard his stomach rumble. "Go eat. You're going to need it." Yawning as she turned onto her stomach with the sheet slipping down to cover her hips. Locks of her hair fell from her back to reveal her wings that laid fat against her back. Her soft blue frilly wings that looked like demonic bat wings hours before had returned to their normal state. Though Aiko opened her eyes deep in thought of wishing she was just an simple elf who didn't have to worry about magic and demonic influences.
