Frowned Upon: brother x sister (NightStalker73au & Asterisk)

The girl smiled at her brother and just nodded her head. "So will you eat a fruit before your practice? I said they are the best before doing exercise." She mentioned quietly as she followed him out of the mall. They walked back home as Sam looked in her watch to check the time. She wouldn't want her brother to be late because of her but they still had time it seemed.

Henry smiled at her words as they walked home, arriving home he unlocked the door and entered the house. Heading straight for the kitchen and something to drink he chose orange juice, taking an apple. Biting into it the juices ran lightly down his chin.

She followed after Henry as she closed the door behind them. The house appeared to be just how they had left it. She walked into the kitchen and smiled seeing as he took an orange juice and an apple. The girl sat on one of the benches watching him for a while. "Do you have a girlfriend? I never saw anyone in the house." She mentioned quietly finding it strange that her brother wasn't normally seen with a girl or so she thought he wasn't since she had never seen anyone else.

Henry was enjoying the apple almost choking on when her questioning words were spoken, coughing up a piece of the apple into his hand he turned to glance in her direction. Reaching for some water he sipped it before speaking. "No I do not. Too Busy with football and other interests."

Sam giggled softly as he seemed to choke on his apple. Maybe she shouldn't have asked it so straight forward like that. "I am sorry, maybe it should have come with a warning. I just thought you would have one. I mean I bet many girls are looking to be with you especially since you are part of the football team." She spoke taking his apple playfully and taking a small bite out of it just grinning. "Besides you now made me curious to your other inerests. I doubt it includes spening time with little sister." She spoke but Samantha was being playful. She was just trying to get to know her brother a little more since they had been away from each other for a while.

Henry heard her words and watched her take a bite out of his apple, shaking his head and drinking some more water he took some time to compose himself more. Glancing at his watch he knew he had at least another hour before practice, twenty minutes at home.

"There are better things to discuss than me or there should be."

The girl looked him with a smile. "Well...we haven't talked in more then a year now, there has to be something interesting about you that I don't know." She mentioned before sighing. "Brother...did you feel scared close to graduation?" She asked him knowing that soon it would be her time enterring senior year and it slightly scared her. It meant that she had to finally grow up and be an adult, an example for the younger children.

Henry heard her words and noticed the smile on her face, thinking back over those years he took a few steps back. Finishing off his water he took a few deep breaths. "Yes I was scared but at the same time elated that those studies had paid off."

She looked at him before looking away. "I have courage to tell you but not them..." She sighed before returning to face him. "I think I am scared of going to college, maybe of failing in the transition. I want to be in school forever I think..." She told him looking away. Sam was afraid of growing up. She didn't know how else to put it and their parents would never listen to a stupid thing like that.

Henry watched her turn away and speak. He could relate to most of it but knew she would need to if a career is what she wished to pursue. "Yes I know what they would think. If you study well you graduate, then you get work. They can not deny you those things?"

She looked at him and gave him a smile. "I know, that is what everyone says. You graduate to persue a career, to get a job....I just wish there was an easy way to make the transition." She told him quietly before smiling and taking another bite of his apple again. "So, what time you'll be back?" She asked knowing that he said he would be out until late.

Henry smiled at her words and moving across to her, he lightly touched and massaged her shoulder for a few minutes. His words softly spoken. "You can look at scholarships leading to work, I could help if you need it. Will be late, no need to wait up for me."

Her eyes closed as he moved behind her and she leaned against him softly as he massaged her shoulders. It felt so good and he knew how to do it so well. Her head leaned on his chest listening quietly to his heartbeat before she listened to his voice. "I'll think about it." She mentioned with a smile. Of course she wanted her brother's help, he had been through all of it already. "It isn't like there is anything else I can do. I'll see if I can stay up after cleaning my room. Maybe I'll be able to greet you when you return." Sam mentioned with a smile as she opened her eyes again, looking up to meet with his eyes.

Henry felt her body relax under his hand, her head leaning against his chest. It had been so long he was almost lost where he was and who with for several seconds before hearing her words. His eyes glanced down into hers, softly kissing her forehead he moved off upstairs to grab his training gear. Returning several minutes later he chuckled.

"Sam relax and have a little fun while I am gone."

She smiled closing her eyes as he kissed her forehead before watching him leave to go upstairs. It felt so good to have him there before he just left. Her eyes kept watching the stairs before she stood up and walked over to the door. "I don't know about fun but I'll relax. I mean I have the house for myself until you return." She told him smiling playfully before hugging him. "Have fun at your practice." She mentioned knowing how football was important for him.

Henry heard her words and softly kissed her forehead once more before leaving, going the opposite direction to earlier in the day he was soon out of sight. His mind partly clouded as he arrived for practice, quickly changing and out on the field running some laps to help warm up he noticed the coach arrive. Calling him across he felt his stomach churn a little fearing more bad news, sigh of relief as he had been selected as starting quarterback for not just the next three games but an interstate championship next month.

With her brother away from the house for a couple of hours the girl returned to her room. She hadn't forgot it was a mess but she knew she had to clean it up. Having the clothes put all away she gathered her drawings and piled them up on the dest. The hardest part was gettin the books in order and placing them on the shelf. For the higher shelves she needed to use her chair. One by one she tried to place the books by subject and alphabetial order. I would take her a long time to do it.

Henry smiled all the way through practice, his heart was almost singing loudly. The joy could still be seen on his face as his mates and him hit the neighbouring town. Stopping off to grab a burger at the small diner they made their way to the pub. He glanced at his watch, it was close to midnight as he staggered outside, trying to use his cell phone to call for a taxi. Eventually getting one he was soon on his way home, staggering up the steps he turned the key in the front door and entered. Closing it behind himself he moved to the lounge and fell face first almost onto the couch.

On the chair in the lounge, beside the couch, Sam slept peacefully. She had tried to stay awake to greet her brother when he arrived but the girl had become tired since nothing seemed to have been happening. Her room had been cleaned and the television was left on, on the lowest volume. Her form was all curled up on the small lounge chair. She had barely even touched the kitchen for anything for her to eat. Samantha had no dinner finding it awkward to eat alone. "Welcome home..." She muttered in her sleep. The girl was still wearing her skirt and a shirt but she seemed she had taken a shower before walking downstairs.

Henry did not hear a thing, the last thing he remembered was his face buried against the couch. The ecstasy of the coach's words had carried him through the whole night, he usually did not drink this much. Sleep would come and he would not wake until some time the next day.

It was morning when Sam woke up only to find she had fallen asleep in the lounge. She stretched before looking towards her brother. He must have had quite a night as well. Yawning she stood up grabbing a blanket from upstairs and placing it over her brother before she went to the kitchen. She would have to prepare breakfast and her idea was to have him taste her pancakes. She hoped she wouldn't mess them up this time! With all the ingredients set the girl tied her brown hair back and began her cooking. It seemed everything was going pretty good for once.

Henry did not stir at all, his body turned slightly on the couch though as he groaned in his sleep. Eventually the smells invaded his nostrils, waking up and blinking several times. Rubbing his head he moved slowly from the couch upstairs to the bathroom. Leaving he stripped off and entered the shower, relaxing under the warm running water he already started to feel better. What was she thinking of him right now.

She finished the pancakes deviding them in two and placing one extra for her brother since there was an uneven number. She grinned and placed them neatly on the table along with orange juice and whatever else she could think for breakfast. Once it was all done Sam left to check on Henry only to find he left the couch. Was he alright? He hadn't even spoke to her. A little worried she rushed up the stairs and lightly kncoked on the door. "Morning sleepy head! I made breakfast and you promised you would taste my cooking." She called out to him playfully. Sam was in a definite happy mood.

Henry had finished his shower, throwing his clothes from yesterday into the large hamper in his bedroom. He would do his washing in the next few days. Stumbling around the room he was dressed in boxers and jeans only when he heard the knock and her words. His eyes met hers as he ran fingers through his hair. "Will be down in a few."

The girl smiled noticig he had no shirt on yet. "You seem to have had quite a wild practice and night yesterday. Wait a go!" She told him before nodding to his answer. "I'll be waiting for you downstairs then." She mentioned quietly before making her way down the stairs again. He seemed to be happy and that made her glad he had seemed so worried the other day.
