Blood of Legends ((Kiandra&Mephilis))

The demon grunted when her blade bit into his neck, followed by a small laugh. Before she could withdrawl from her attack, he responded by slamming his lager body into hers. Hefting up his sword as she staggered back, due to its weight, it was hard to take advantage of this small opening. So instead of going for a full blown attack, he would lift the weapon as if he were about to slice at her head. Rather than that, he quickly put a hand on the back of his blade's base and rammed at her face. Up until now she had made the correct choice on his tricky attack patterns, until now. She would try to duck under what seemed to be a horizontal slash, only to have the large guard smashed into her skull. This did not activate the stun barrier, as it was placed on the blade ofcourse. It would however completely throw off her balance as he stepped back and spun his body around. Bringing that large sword against her before she could regain her footing and hitting her in the side.

Not only would she get the sting of the barrier, but the force of the swing coupled with her weak footing would launch her through the air. Though, the demon suspected she would recover before crashing into the ground. He secured his guard stance, choosing not to risk losing by over extending.

Cylesta snarled as blood dripped from the cut she got from the blow to her face. As she flew through the air from his last hit, she twisted her body, and made her blade disappear from view. She was heading face first to the ground, but that made it her next move perfect. She outstretched her arms, landing on one and twisting her body to land in a crouch, which gave her ample space to launch herself at him from that spot. She moved quicker than his eyes could catch her, and as she did, her sword reappeared within her grasp, glowing slightly as she respelled it.

As she flew through the air, she smirked at him, and then winked before disappearing completely into the shadow at the tip of his blade, to play with him the way Manus taught her.
Now within the shadows under him, she kept popping up and playing whack-a-mole with his toes. She smirked as he moved his feet, and then she launched herself up right under him, slamming into his large body with a force that shouldn't have been possible with her small frame.

"Hm?" The demon hummed to himself when she slipped into his sword's shadow. He then snorted a bit of a laugh, he began kiting her attacks from the shadows. He did eventually try to thrust at her with his sword with limited success. When she rocketed up at him, he quickly braced himself for the impact. He knew one way or another, this was likely the end of their bout and it all hinged on whether he could whether this attack. She hit him hard, very hard, he assumed she used the shadows to launch herself as a projectile. He buckled from this attack, staggering back. With his guard opened up, she would strike to finish their bout. Desperately, the demon raised his weapon to block the attack. She quickly swirled around his weapon to strike again. The demon quickly spun in the opposite direction just in time to see her obsidian sword coming for him. Stepping back, he reached his left arm out and narrowly caught her wrist, redirecting her strike. Keeping a grip on her wrist, he threw her toward his right side as his right hand brought up his heavy weapon. Tagging her with the side of his blade as she flew by. scoring the final strike. The stunning effect would make it hard for her to recover before hitting the ground, but it was not impossible.

Whether she crashed or landed, the demon would heft that large sword on his should. "Most impressive." He said as he turned toward her. "Though, I hope that sword a training weapon, or atleast magically reinforced. Obsidian weapons, while intimidating in appearance, are not the most practical weapons." He said as he watched her, his stance suggested he was fine, though she would be able to hear his harder breathing.

As he grabbed her wrist, she knew it was over and his sword hitting her side sealed the deal. She felt the stunning effect take over, and as she landed it, she hunched over, taking the effect as she knelt on all fours for a moment. She was grinning as she sat back on her haunches and looked up at him, panting lightly. Her fur glistened with a light sheen of sweat. Her head tilted as he spoke about her weapon, and then smiled nodding.
"Yeah, they are a bit impractical. I usually use the shadows to help with keeping the blade from shattering. You gave a good fight. I look forward to our next bout." She slowly stood up, and then lifted her hand to the cut on her head. It still bled, although much lighter, but her face was covered in blood. "Ouch... nice hit..." She stated, then shook her head.

"The value of wearing a helmet."
He said with a smile as he reached out to her, offering her a hand to help her up. "Your not so bad yourself, my arm is tingling a bit, I shudder to think how it might feel if I where not wearing my padded armor." If she took his hand, he would help her up, if not he would just casually retract his hand. "So what do you need to heal? Souls? The dreams of children?" He asked teasingly as he moved to put his weapon up.

Cylesta took his hand easily, and as he pulled her up laughed as he asked what she used to heal herself.
"As if. That would be easy to get. No I heal with sex." She said a smirk on her lips as she said it, she stretched her arms up and then said, "Which for some that would be easy to do, but I'm picky when it comes to who I share that with." She rolled her eye, "I'm surprised you didn't hear my uncle while we were all at the medway. He was pretty angry when he found out..." She lifted her hand and rubbed the back of her head sheepishly.
"I should have told him a little earlier, but it isn't something I would really discuss with him... Anyways, enough about me... how did you meet Manus? And do you got any juicy stories about him?" She grinned sweetly and innocently up at him, even though blood still trickled from her head.

"Yes, I can see how that would be a problem." He said as he fastened the training sword in place. She would notice a slight pause at her question, before he looked back at her. Then, he began to look around the complex a bit. "Walk with me." He said before he made his way out of the room. If she followed, he would lead her up to the deck of the ship, walking over to the edge of the starboard side. It was a clear, starry night with the moon shining proudly above.

"I met Manus after his family adopted me. My... mother was killed in a Rastrox separatists raid some years after the war ended." He paused for a moment as he looked up at the moon above them. "I was one of the lucky ones, most the children were killed, or stuffed into orphanages. As far as I am concerned, Manus and Menis are my brothers." Crossing his arms ove rhis chest, he turned his gaze to her. "So yes, I have all the juicy stories about Manus, and Menis in fact."

Cylesta's eye lit up with glee and she eagerly followed him, completely forgetting about her wounded head and the blood on her white fur. They headed up to the deck and she leaned against the railing, watching him, with a gleeful look on her face.
She listened to him and then nodded at his explanation. She grinned as he looked over at her, looking fierce, and then said, "Manus took me under his wing while I was learning the shadows. He's helped me a lot. And Menis seems like such a sweetheart. So do tell." She poked his side playfully as she waited for the stories.

"I probably should not tell you too much... seeing as they keep my secret... but.." The demon said as he placed a hand on where one would expect a chin to be. His mind going back to their childhood, and seeking out things Manus would not like to be repeated. "When he was little, Manus had a little stuffed toy, a pink cat he named Miss Kitten. I can hardly remember a time where he was not holding, or atleast close to that pink cat." He said before looking out over the moving landscape, watching the kills go by. "I stole her from him once, hid her. He cried for several hours as he looked for her, and when he found out I had her... well... I guess you could say we fought for Miss Kitten's hand." He said, laughing at the memory of dueling with his adopted brother over his beloved toy. "Though I guess it was more accurate to say, he was the knight trying to save his princess from evil little me."

What started off as a light chuckle turned into a full blown laugh as Cylesta wiped the tears streaming from her face.
"You have got to be kidding me!!!! Miss Kitten?" She loved this, and couldn't stop laughing as she thought about little Manus with a stuffed toy. She shook her head, and slowly the giggles started to ebb.
"He's so serious most of the time, although he has relaxed around me a lot." She said, about Manus, then grinned.
"I remember the first time I actually got the drop on him in the shadow realm. He stared at me in shock, and once I let him go, started berating the shadows. It was hilarious. Especially since the shadows were bowing before him in apology." She thought to herself for a moment before saying, "Though that didn't stop me from beating him after that."

The demon shook his head as she laughed, it was quite hilarious thats for sure. He would nod as she spoke, still watching the scenery go by. What she described was definitely Manus, to a degree. "Indeed, there is more to him than that, he just... does not trust very well." He said before turning to her, seeing that she was still bleeding. He began to fiddle with his utility belt, searching the different packs until he pulled out a small grey tube. "Menis is more like his brother than most people know." He said as he opened the tube, squeezing some of its clear contents into his right pointer finger.

"He is sometimes too focused on perfecting his control of the shadows... I hope it does not becomes an obsession." He says in a rueful tone before reaching up and rubbing its contents into her wound. "Red does become you Cylesta, but perhaps you can find a better way to apply it to your fur." The clear pasty substance would seal her wound and stop the bleeding shortly after the application.

"Indeed. I thought he didn't like me for the longest time." She said, a wry smile on her face. She watched him as he pulled a grey tube from his belt. She listened to him, as he spoke about Menis, and smiled, "It seems to me that Manus protects his little brother quite well. He is a sweetheart, that's for sure. He was worried about this mission. But I think he did very well. He showed a lot of poten..." She paused as he rubbed the gel over her cut, sealing it. She grinned, thanked him quietly, and said, "Red does look good on me! Anyways, as I was saying, he has potential. They all do." She reached up as he stepped away, and scratched at the sides, "itchy" before looking over at him.
"Manus is going to kill you when he finds out I know about Miss Kitten. By the way, who won her hand?" She asked giggling.

"From what I saw, yes they did do very well, Manus and I hit him with everything we had and he stayed on his feet. If those boys had not been able to finish the job, we likely would not be here right now." He said as he finished wiping her wound. "Sorry about that." He said, pulling his hand away from her and shaking it a bit. "Older brother instincts get the better of me sometimes. Its not the most pleasant feeling seal, but it works pretty fast."

"Manus will certainly try, but his track record against me is not the best, I win more often than not... And if Menis had not come to Manus' aid back then I would have kept his pink princess."

Cylesta smiled in thanks again, "An older brother is always handy to keep around. I didn't have one growing up." She said, ruefully. It didn't bother her, as spoiled as she was, she was always kept busy, so she didn't have time to really miss having an older sibling. She grinned again at what he said about Menis. "So what your saying, is that You were also playing with a little Pink stuffed toy?" She raised an eyebrow at him as she asked this question, the tinge of teasing coloring her tone.
"Did you three boys enjoy playing with tiny pink toys a lot?" As she asked, she bit her lower lip to keep the smirk from forming on her lips. That question could go so many ways, especially with her gutter mind. And she very nearly grinned when thinking about the males playing with a cute pink pussy... she shook her head slightly to get that image out of her mind, and remain in the conversation.

"I have always sought ways to annoy Manus, and that toy was always the best way." He said as he shook his head, "No, pink is not my color, though it has long been Manus' favorite color." He said, starting to laugh at an old memory. "He actually dyed his hair pink as a teen, even considered having it permanently changed." He let out of a long laughing sigh, "That is until Menis told him he made a very pretty girl!" He said, barely getting the words out before he busted out laughing. "We started calling him Mandy, oh he hated it so much." Taking a deep breath to control his laugh. "Poor guy never dyed his hair again."

Cylesta laughed at that and asked between breaths, "How old was Menis when that happened?" She could totally see a younger Menis telling his big brother that he looked like a very pretty girl.
"Hey pink is a completely acceptable color to dye your hair. I've done a whole rainbow in mine, it used to drive my uncle crazy when I'd get home with different colors." She said, as she scratched at the gel again. She growled to herself, hating the itchy feeling it was giving her, and then yawned, without meaning too. It seemed that everything had finally caught up to her. They were still a couple hours out, and she looked up at the night sky, letting the wind flutter through her white hair.
"Sometimes I dye my hair a crazy color just to see his reaction." She said looking back over at him.
"I just realized something. You know my name, but I don't actually know yours..."

"Menis must have been, no more than ten years old when that happened. It was only a few years before we decided to become mercenaries. Seemed a like a great way to get famous and rich... well Manus wanted to be famous, I just wanted to be rich." He said, looking over at her as she tried to scratch her wound again. "You do it all for him huh? Lucky for you your fur can compliment any hair color.." A curt laugh came from the male as his armored tail swished a bit. "You and everyone else outside of my family and a few friends I made before donning this mask. Maybe one day, if I like you enough... I might tell you." He said, offering her a side eye glance. "Unless you can guess it, you get three tries."

"Three tries? I will have to think about it." She said grinning back at him. "Otherwise, should I just call you Demon?" She asked as her tail flicked against the railing, making a small clanking noise as the blades met the metal rail.

Cylesta turned back to the night sky, watching it fly over her as she pinpointed her favorite constellations as peace settled over them. Her eye slowly began closing, and she yawned again before turning towards him, "All right, I had better go find a bunk before I fall asleep out here, or slip into the shadows. Night. See you later!" She waved as she headed back inside the large ship.

She found an R&R room, smaller than the one she had used with Thyverian and curled into the nest, relaxing under the covers. Above her, shadows danced around her body, keeping her safe, even on the large warship.

A couple of hours passed and she was awakened by the shuddering of the massive ship landing. She stretched out the kinks in her body, caused by her laying in a curled fetal position and sat up, her hand brushing down her face. For some odd reason, the fur on her face felt stiff, and she crinkled her nose before remembering that she hadn't cleaned her face of the dried blood from the night before. She groaned and got up, heading towards the small sink to wash her face. Since she only used water, it left a reddish brown tint to her fur, and she growled at her reflection, before taking the time to actually clean her fur with soap. The bubbles caused her to sneeze and she finished washing her face before drying it and stepping out of the room.

Cylesta headed towards the docking station, and easily slid through the masses, checking her wristpad for any messages she might have missed while she was asleep.

"That is the title that has been given to me, wind demon, storm demon one of those." He said as he watched her yawn, it was not long before it infected him. He tried to stifle the yawn, but it would not be denied despite his best efforts. Shaking his head to try to dispell the fuzzy feeling it gave him. "Damnit, why would you do this to me?" He asked teasingly before yawned again. "Sweet dreams young lady." He said, before watched her leave. Once she was gone, he turned his attention back to the rolling scenery, yes they were almost there.

Once Cylesta got to the deck of the ship, she would see the demon standing where she had left him. Arms crossed over his armored chest as he watched the ship enter docking procedures. It was not long before the ship was secured in its bay and soldiers and sailors alike began disembarking. It was not long before Thyverian, Menis and Seylian stumbled up onto the deck, quickly ushering themselves to the side near the demon to avoid waves of people.
"Like an ocean of people." Seylian complained as he rubbed the back of his neck, watching the blob of catfolk spill off of the ship. "Eager to get on the ground, are you not?" The demon asked as he turned his attention to the three rookies that were now waiting by him. "Not really, flying on a ship is pretty cool!" Thyverian said as he used his newfound freedom to enjoy a nice stretch. "I don't think so... feels so cramped and the beds suck." Menis complained, rubbing his back. "Its better than what I'm used to." Seylian explains with a shrug as he offers Menis a slight smile. "Thats because Menis is spoilt when it comes in comforts." The demon said plainly, causing the young black feline to cross his arms and mutter. "I'm not spoilt" Under his breath.

Cylesta walked over to Demon, still checking her messages, and grinned as her best friend stated she was meeting her once she disembarked. She settled next to him with a nudge into his side in hello. Definitely not a morning cat, unless you were greeting her with coffee or sex, and she had neither.
"Did you stay here all night?" She asked quietly as she finally looked up to watch the crowds around them.

She smirked as the three rookies made their way over to them, being jostled by the crowd. She grinned at Menis as he complained about the bed, and winked at Thyverian, simply stating, "Oh I don't know, I had a very comfy nest in that ship..."
She left it at that, and leaned back to watch the crowds again. She smiled and nodded as they spoke, and she poked Menis, "Having the comforts of home is not being spoilt Demon."
She then put her arm around Menis' shoulders and stated, "And he was on the bunks. Those things suck. Next time we can all cuddle on one of the nests in the R&R rooms."
She nudged her hips against Menis, teasing him and the other two males with her words as she finally let him go. She noticed a dark tawny figure down on the ground from over the railing and proceeded to wave down at it frantically. As it finally noticed her it began to jump up and down and wave back just as frantically as her.
"You are all in for a treat. My best friend is here..." She said, a grin splitting her lips. She reached up and scratched at the glue, before giving Demon a side eye glare, "How long does this crap itch for? I'm almost tempted to pull it off and let it bleed again!"

"I did, I prefer to sleep in a place more... private if I can choose." He said as he offered her a nudge back.

Seylian would notice the wink, glancing at Thyverian who was grinning for a moment then back at Cylesta. He seemed slightly confused and perhaps a little suspicious... maybe jealous. Even moreso when she wrapped an arm around Menis. The grey feline had this look of, 'wtf' as Menis' face light up like a christmas tree. "I.. eh... he..." He stammered as she mentioned cuddling together. Thyverian looked at his friend with great concern. When she released him and hip bumped him, the young male shivered quite intensely.
"You need a new pair of pants there buddy?" Thyverian asked as Menis regained control of his body. "I... hm? No.. fine.. pants fine.."

"I shudder to think what your friends are like, shadowy mysterious assassin lady." Seylian said teasingly as he and Thyverian tried to get a better look at the jumping figure. Not long after, the stream of bodies would die down making the exit less cramped. "Shall we?" The demon asked as he began to walk toward the exit steps, offering the still shaken Menis a pat on the shoulder. Seylian turned to Cylesta and gestured toward the steps. "Ladies first." Thyverian would give him a look as Menis scoffed. "Then why are you standing there?" The black feline asked as he walked by Cylesta and closer to Seylian. The grey male gave the younger male a deadpan look. "Well if I am a lady, I guess all I have to do is touch you to take you down." This provoked a laugh from Thyverian as Menis just scowled at the taller male. "No, cause I only like pretty girls." He said before walking by his friends to follow the demon. Thyverian was now laughing harder as he put a hand on Seylian's shoulder. "He just... called you an ugly chick!" The grey male just deflected the white male's hand. "Ha-ha-ha... funny man." He said before he turned to follow Menis.
"Did you sleep well?" Thyverian asked Cylesta as the others made their way down before turning to follow them. "I coulda slept better, felt awfuly lonely."

Cylesta smirked at Seylian, "Brace yourselves, she's quite a handful."
She laughed as the three males teased each other and then walked down the gang plank towards the ground, smirking at Thyverian, "I slept okay. These joints give me trouble, but that's only because when I'm alone, I sleep curled into a fetal ball. And yes, it was quite lonely, wasn't it? I wish I had had a friend to share body heat with..."
She lowered her voice near the end of her statement, her voice changing and becoming seductive as she looked at Thyverian with a pointed look. She was about to say more, except a dark shape pounced on her, followed by a loud war yell. The two females growled and scrapped with each other as the four males watched them before finally ending their scrap with a big hug. They stood up and Cylesta turned towards the males, "This is my best friend, Tamir. Tamir, this is Seylian, Menis, Thyverian, and Demon." She motioned to each one of them. Tamir grinned goodnaturedly at them, and waved, "Yo." She was a dark golden tawny color, and had honey colored eyes. Her hair was up in a pony tail and had icy blue streaks and dark purple streaks in it.
"So these are the ones your uncle chose? How did they do?"
"They did very well for their first mission with him. I'm quite proud of them."
"Awesome! Great job guys!" Tamir said, bestowing a smile that made them smile back. She was such a happy and infectious person.

Thyverian was staring right back at her as she spoke, he wanted so badly to kiss her lips as they moved with each word. Before she could even finish speaking, she was jumped by a strange blur. Jumping back a bit, Thyverian reached for his sword, only to realize he did not have it. He cursed when he realized it was likely left behind on the battlefield. The others watched in confusion as the girls went from fighting, to hugging.
"Your friend, right.." Seylian said as he scratched his right eye, "Yeah, totally my first guess." As she introduced each male, they each reacted in their own way.
"Howdy." Seylian said, offering her a polite wave.
Menish would offer her a slightly confused wave. "H-hello...?"
Thyverian gave her a polite smile and a two finger salute.
The demon simply nodded.
"Minus one." The demon stated simply, as he was not chosen by Melorn.
"Your damn right we did, I especially, landing the killing blow on a member of the Terafax family is one hell of a way to start my career!" Seylian beamed, oh yes he was quite proud of his performance, especially that last part. "His GREAT humility makes up for his lack of good looks." Thyverian said with a snicker as the eyes of Seylian fell upon him and narrowed. Then move dover to the shorter black male who was snickering at him. "Oh, could you two be more jealous?"

"Let's not give any credit to the rest of the team, who tired out your opponent enough that you were able to actually give him the killing blow..." Cylesta said dryly, looking at Seylian with a pointed look as Tamir giggled.

"Well, either way. Breakfast at my place, and I've got enough for everyone!" Tamir said as she bounced on her toes. With how much energy she needed to expend, it was amazing that she was a sharpshooter, and would sit for hours waiting for her target.
Cylesta smirked at her friend, and hooked arms with her, before asking them, "So what's it be boys? Breakfast, or ...?"

"Yeah, lets be real: Manus and... that guy..." Thyverian said, gesturing to the demon with a degree of confusion. "did most of the work, we just finished him off." This provoked a loud groan from Seylian who rolled his eyes at the two white felines. "Just let me have my moment damnit!" He exclaimed before nudging Thyverian with his elbow. "Let the boy have his glory, he never claimed to defeat Lenarin on his own. He is bragging about landing the final blow, which is what he did." The demon said rather simply as he gestured toward Seylian. The grey feline froze momentarilly as someone finally agreed with him. "Yeah... exactly." He said sneering at Thyverian, who merely rolled his eyes.

As the two females began on their way, Thyverian smirked at Cylesta's question. "Or.. what exactly?" This provoked a raised eyebrow from Seylian and a short lived look of confusion from Menis. "I would love to, but Menis and I need to report to the old man, and I could really use a bath." The demon said, looking over at a set of figures in the distance. Cylesta would be able to identify one easily, Manus' jagged armor made for an obvious silhouette, another looked vaguely like Melorn, but she would not know the third at all. "Y-yeah! I can... catch up with you later... if your ok with that.." Menis said as he akwardly fidgeted with his belt before moving to follow the demon as he approached the figures.
