Love can bite deeper than any beast or blade... ((Me x Dragonsfoot))

Alyissa shrugged "Dosen't matter to me" she said getting her friend to lie down so she could remove the tube from Jessie's Windpipe. Snapping her fingers like a lighter. A small flame illuminated from her fingertips. "Grip my hand if you need to Cherrypie" she murmered slowly removing the Ball point. Using the flame she cauterized the wound and wood soon sew the wound closed. Alyissa looked down at her fellow camper "Jess can go last, She's still pretty weak from the fight and she might need help bathing" she advised digging through her pack for her Bone needle and thread.

Thomas rolled his eyes, "When we get back to camp, you need to attend some first aid classes."

He took a rag putting a bit of the nectar onto it, he held it to the wound. It looked like it had occurred weeks ago. Pressing again, only a light scar remained. Thomas looked at her, "Nectar and Ambrosia, the liquid of the gods. To a demi god it heals almost instantly. But you have to be careful, drink too much your burned to ash. With extrenal wounds a compress of it tends to be enough. I'm going to need you to apply some to me when I get out of the bath."

Thomas took a five minute shower, and a forty five minute back. A towel wrapped around him he laid on the bed, "The entry wound on my back is what I'm most worried about. I'd ask for Nectar, but the the potion I took will negate it for the net twenty four hours or so. Luckily I think most of the damage is fixed can you check?"

The entry wound was in fact a four inch wide circle. The skin was the waxy glistening of newly replaced skin after a burn. The hole wasn't particularly deep most of his insides having healed, but definitely went part way through the muscle. He looked at her, "Can you put the numbing cream and disinfectant cream on it? I've also got gauze and a sports wrap."

He still seemed a bit out of it as he said, "Sorry if I seemed harsh earlier. I didn't mean too, but I thought I was bleeding to death while you focused on a non critial injury. I also am a bit out of it because of blood loss. Finally, well certain scents stand out. Especially to monsters. If Jess smelled like blood, it would paint a target on her back where we're going."

Alyissa bite back a growl and the urge to knock Thomas out cold "Tracheotomy Is CPR stupid, Jess's throat was closing on her and cutting off oxygen to her brain" she snapped "I'd watch your tongue I won't hesitate to cut your dick off in your sleep" she warned giving him a glare before patching her friend up. Then she moved over to finish the last touches of his injurys. "Both of your injurys were critical" she corrected tying the Bandage tight to prevent infection.

Thomas looked at her, "I'm not talking about her throat swelling shut, that was quick thinking, the Ambrosia may have fixed her, but you didn't know so you adapted. That was smart. I meant the pulling the tube out and going through the long process of stitching her up while I could have been bleeding to death."

Thomas rolled his eyes at her threat, "Part of being a leader, is commenting on mistakes you view. I'm a bit annoyed with myself as well, if I'd realized Jess was so close I'd have pushed her out of the way. She's ridiculously lucky. I gave myself the cut above the eye."

He gestured towards the nasty gash, "I did so, because the rules of "Dead if you look it in the eyes" creatures are ridiculously specific, both eyes have to look it directly in the eye, without any sort of cover. It's way better then a blind fold, or just closng your eyes. You can still see, but the blood in your eye protects you from the death or stone effect."

Thomas nodded a bit, "I got the idea from an old friend, he had thick coke bottle glasses. Well in a fight with a gorgon he got them knocked off, and his eye sight was so bad that the magic of the gorgon didn't effect him. It also only takes a few seconds with Nectar to fix a gash like that."

Thomas looked at her, "Honestly, the fact our first fight went so badly really worries me. A Basilisk is truly a quest worthy enemy on their own to be sure. But I'm guessing it was a gift from the three sisters encase any demigods heard about the attack. Luck rather then skill is why me and Jess survived. Technically all three of us. And we lost our ace magical artifact the gorgon scale jacket. If anything could overwhelm even the basilisk venom on our systems, it would be the three sisters."

Thomas moved to the mini-fridge pulling out a pint of vodka. He opened it and took a half a dozen swallows. He passed it to Aly, "Here's hoping the luck lasts until we get back to camp."

"I can't just leave a tube in her throat can I?" she retorted before mumbling something about Aphrodite children under her breath. Alyissa dismissed his offer "Alcohol poisons the mind" she grumbled. "We need some kind of leverage on them" she said pulling out her dagger to clean under her fingernails.

Jessie took the Pint unlike Alyissa she could use a drink after all the shit that went down "All take that offer" she crocked sitting up wincing from her achy muscles.

Thomas shook his head at Jesse, "In a few hours maybe, you have so much nectar in you it won't effect you anyway, and because of the blood loss it's dangerous. I guess a drink or two couldn't hurt."

He handed it to her, knowing Aly wouldn't let her over indulge. He looked at Aly, "If I was bleeding to death, and she was safe and stable, then yes you could have let the tube in for three to five minutes. If someone is bleeding out three to five minutes could mean death. Like I said, I'm not angry, but it's important to make sure no one is dying before you go into less then imperative thing."

He slowly moved towards the trunk that held his clothes. He removed the towel, flashing his ass to the women. He pulled out a pair of black slacks, a silk blood red button up shirt with matching boxers and a wife beater. Looking at Aly after he had his boxers on he said, "Do you have a classy outfit? Not that your normal clothes aren't goo, but where we're going is the sort of place your clothes have to look like the cost more then most sane people would spend."

He looked at Jessie, "You up for another mission right now, or do you want to wait here. Their shouldn't be any fighting it's just a research mission. It could get a bit violent though."

Alyissa growled again "Don't you ever shut up?!, She wasn't in stable condition and if you don't remember you sacrificed the vest for her. It's better if I save one then lose both of you" she huffed turning away from him. Honestly she didn't know why Thomas insisted on making her lose her every other second. It was rather annoying, Digging through her pack for clean clothes "Yeah I got some" she grumbled

Jessie looked away when he turned around exposing his bottom "No I think I'll stay here in rest, I don't want to slow you guys down" she admitted blocking the image with her hands.

Thomas looked at her, "No, I'm the leader of this quest, you fucked up. I'm trying to tell you how. After she was breathing on her own with the tube, she was stable. Before removing the tube you should have checked on me, then after you were sure I was stable, you should have removed the tube. This isn't a discussion, this is me telling you you fucked up, and how to do better next time. You say "Thank you, your right, I'll do better next time.". This isn't a discussion despite what you seem to think."

He looked at Jessie, "Jessie, your welcome to look. We're basically living together. The toilet has a very small amount o privacy, but the bath doesn't, odds are we'll all see each other naked sooner or later."

He gestured towards the shower and bath, maybe six steps from the table they were sitting at the space was obviously meant to be shared with a lover, and thus had very little privacy. He said, "Aly, can you get ready? Shower and the whole nine yards. Baby, set a course or Artemist & Apollo's steak house and gentleman's club."

He began to get dressed slowly.

Thomas pushed her too far and she grabbed his shirt to bring him closer to face her smoldering rage "You want to talk about Fucked up, fine ... I'll tell you what's fucked up. Let's start with the Fact that you think I should have considered your Safety over Jessie's. Or that your so willing to slay Gorgons just because Mommy asked you too. But let's get this straight this may be your quest but your no leader to me" she said before shoving him away.

Jessie could only watch in fear too afraid of Alyissa to interfere.

Thomas was surprised by the grab, and what she said. As she shoved him back however he moved. Thomas did have one major sill after all and that was reaction speed. He imagined Aly expected him to end up on his ass. Instead he'd grabbed her wrist, and as he went down bled the momentum into a roll. Even as he was doing so still holding Aly's wrist thus forcing her to go with him his right free hand moved into his pocket and drew a flip knife, his thumb sliding the blade out. In half the time it took for a person to blink Thomas had turned Aly's shove into a roll, and pinned the sassy former criminal. The razor sharp edge of the knife pressed to her throat. His body positioned so he had leverage, and both hands gripping the knife in a position so she couldn't easily force it away.

Thomas gently parted skin on Aly's neck, not deep but enough where she'd be very aware of it. Thomas spoke his voice a whisper, but still easily heard, "You feel that? That's not Celestial Bronze, that's good muggle Kentucky steel. Sharpened just right for a throat slitting knife. Too sharp, you have issues cutting the muscle, too dull and arterial spray makes a major mess. This blade is just right, sure I'd have to put on a new shirt, but most of the blood would end up in your lungs."

Aly might recognize his tone. It wasn't the tone of a hero, the tone of an idealist kid hunting monsters. It was the tone of people in the game. A tone used by war vets, and killers, people who were dangerous. Anyone could kill, but Thomas's grip and position, and even his tone were that of someone who excelled at it. Who liked it.

Thomas knew he had her attention as he said, "I never said you should put me above Jessie. If we'd both been stabbed in the stomach, I'd expect you to worry about her first. Honestly, she's physically the weak link here. No disrespect intended Jesse, but your girlfriend here knew how to bypass your wind pipe. She's done it before. When your embarrassed to look at my ass, which implies you haven't been through some of the intense shit we have. What I'm saying Alyissa, is after she was safe, you should have checked out my wound. If she gets a paper cut, and your bleeding to death, which one need the focus? She was stable with the pen in her neck. I could have been dying. It would have taken ten seconds to check the wound."

He took a breathe, "As for hunting Gorgons. I'm not doing it for my mother. Remember the info from the attack? Two adults and a our year old child were killed. If the parents had been demigods, we'd have known about it. That means the kid was the demigod. That means we have three five X threats hunting down demigods all of whom are presumably too young for camp meaning under 12. Add in the goddesses who they most hate, it was probably a sister to me, or Jessie who died, she died screaming in agony as the car pieces punctured her body. She'll never get a chance to meet a boy, fall in love, never get a sweet sixteen. For that girl's future, and all the other futures cut down by those snake slags, that's why I'm doing this."

Thomas blinked as he said, "And all I'm wearing on my lower body is boxers. While sitting on top of you."

Alyissa thrashed when he pushed her to the ground but stopped feeling the knife pressed to her throat "You know what else Muggles make?" she wheezed pulling her Dolne Apache gun from it's cover from under her shirt. Aiming the barrel between his eyes "You have 30 seconds to get off of me before I blow your ignoramus brain out " she warned using her thumb to cocking it to load.

Jessie narrowed her eyes "Stop it both of you" she shouted "We'll never get shit done if you kill eachother now"

Thomas chuckled, "Is that loaded with lead, or Celestial bronze? Celestial bronze only hurts gods and monsters. Lead will paint the wall with my blood."

He winked at her, "I'm not scared to die Alyissa, I'm happy to dance with the devil in the pale moon light."

He slowly stood up saying, "Jess is right though, we've got people to see and monster to kill."

The demigod closed the knife again. Whistling something as he got dressed.

Alyissa blew her bangs out of her face giving him a final glare before getting up "F.Y.I it was lead" she said before grabbing her clothes and heading for the shower.

Jessie rubbed her temples feeling a headache coming on "Dear gods give me strength" she sighed heavily before rolling over not bothering to glance at Thomas changing.

Thomas chuckled, looking at Jessie he said, "Don't worry about it babe. In some ways it's good she's like that. To last as a demigod you've got to have fight in you. Fight makes you dive blade in hand against five pissed off Nagas, or a troll. Fight lets you survive when you've got an arrow in your guts, let's you deal with the pain and survive. Alyissa isn't scared to die, and it will help her to stay alive."

Soon he was dressed, and was giving his boots a wipe down. Looking at Jessie he said, "She has her problems of course. You can tell she's used to being in charge. She doesn't take criticism well. And she's a bit arrogant. But you've got to admit when the shit hits the fan, she'll be good to have at our backs. Honestly she reminds me of a more hardcore Clarisse."

Jessie laughed "Hard core doesn't even begin to sum It up. After Tray died she took it upon herself to be in charge of the whole chapter, The Vagos are more notorious then Hell's Angels. Alyissa literally ran the underground of Florida. Not to mention the whole abusive dad thing and being disowned for marrying a Criminal mastermind. Shit like that really does change a person plus I'm hell a lot sure that Alyissa is better looking then Clarisse" she sad with a smirk

Thomas nodded, "I saved a daughter of Ameratsu when I was sixteen. Mom gave me the quest, and teleported me to Japan. I found out afterwards exactly how serious the Japanese take life debts. The girl's father was the leader of a Yakuza family. The three years I was gone, I was there. The daughter of Ameratsu was 16, but because of issues she couldn't attend the Japanese version of camp half blood. Well, about a week after I got there, a pair of weaker Yakuza families banded together with another rival organization. Suddenly I wasn't just the body guard of a yakuza princess, I was the bodyguard of a yakuza princess who had a massive target on her back, in the middle of a gang war."

Thomas looked at his hand, "Most of the kids at camp, they think all they'll ever have to do is kill a few monsters. I knew Orihime was a target, but it never dawned on me what my quest might truly entail. Not until we were walking down a street and an S.U.V. pulled up. I pulled her down before two machine guns opened fire. Four people were dead by the time the car pulled away. Four muggles, two younger then us. I realized I had to get serious. Do you know how easy killing humans is? compared to Monster I mean. Humans, they don't have thick leathery scales, or hide. They aren't bigger than you or thicker. A katanna made of folded steel can practically cut them in half. I took the name Crimson Reaper, because where I walked death and blood followed."

He let out a deep breathe, "I think part of me and Alyssia's issue is we don't really trust eachother. We can see the truth in eachother's eyes. We're both killers, and no matter what reason you have, it's hard to trust a killer."

Thomas gently reached down, tracing the tattoo on the inside of his right arm, a name inked into the flesh, "Orihime Hatake" and the check mark. Remembering the girl he'd almost walked away from the camp for.

She listened intently of what history he spoke of and she wasn't sure how to respond other then saying "Wow that's tough man" she said with bit of a chuckle. "I often feel it's the other way around. Monsters destroy and kill, Humans are things with souls that hide much darker shadows then Monsters. Maybe I'm a stickler for empathy but I had a guardian once, Mother insisted. It was a noble Griffon named Ramses ... He died protecting me from Harpies when I first came to half-blood. So I know the feeling" she sighed bitter memories replaying over in her mind.

Thomas nodded slowly, "The curse of being a half blood. You live a short life, and die a bloody death. I think the worst part is the sugar coating. Makes me think of cyanide pills with a candy coating. Be a Hero, go on epic quests, fight monsters. It sounds fun, sure it's a bit dangerous, but it doesn't sound REALLY bad. I sometimes wonder if their isn't some spell or something. Think about it, Annabeth is considered the person whose been at camp the longest of the kids. She's been at camp or roughly eight years. Yet no one ever draws the connection. Every kid at camp during Annabeth's first year should have just as many charms. They don't realize she's the only one who did. But theirs always more meat for the grinders. We aren't heroes, we're sacrifices, fighting an immortal enemy. That Basilisk we killed, between a week and a few years and he'll be back. If we do this hunt, in a few decades they'll be back."

"That is what Alyissa was trying to explain to Chiron before she left Camp, We are all just Pawns on a chess board. Some of us just want to live normal lives ya'know?" she shrugged before leaning back onto the wall of the Van.

Alyissa emerged full clothed and ready to go "Let's get this over with" she sighed before tossing Her duel daggers to Jess "Keep quiet Cherrypie We'll be back in a sec"

Thomas smirked, it was a feral smirk. His gun and gun belt were uncovered. He pulled on a pair of black framed red lensed sunglasses. Double checking his gloves and knives. He nodded to Aly, as they stepped out of the battle bus he said "Stay close, this could go bad. I kind of undersold the danger to Jess."

The club/restaurant smelled of sweat and sex. Their were dozens of strippers, wearing what could only be called porn parody outfits of the hunters of Artemis's outfits. The steaks and ribs smelled amazing however As they'd walk through a skilled eye would notice little weird things about the strippers and patrons. Eyes that resembled a cat's, forked tongues, nails too sharp to be human.

As he stepped the "Clang" of his spurs became clearer as motion around them stopped. Thomas sat at the bar, "I'll take three steaks, and two slabs of ribs. See Alyissa, they place has the best barbecue in town. Melt in your mouth good. And the sauce or the sauce is nirvana."

A man behind the counter looked around, "Come on Thomas, I don't know nothin, come on you can't just bust up my place!"

Thomas raised an eyebrow, "Oh come on Weasel, would I do that to you? Your my buddy, my pal. I swear I'll honor the accord as long as none of your "Customers" come after me and mine. That's the deal I made right, and I ALWAYS stick to my deals."

Weasel seemed less nervous, "Ok Thomas, I promise we're following the accord. I'll even give you a DISCOUNT, how about I add two six packs of the home brewed ale for you? Since we're buddies and all."

Alyissa wrinkled her nose in disgust, she had been to underground parties before but never one like this. She didn't want any part take in the food or beer, not really caring how good it was. Her criminal mind was sharp and well focused, Alyissa's eyes flickered over their surroundings. Keeping her hand close to her gun holster and ready if needed.

Soon they had been given the food. Thomas handed the to go containers off to Aly, saying, "Hey Weasel, your boss in?"

The man nodded, leading the two into a room that was almost completely silent. A man sat behind a desk. He was too pale, with a thick black mane, and piercing red eyes. Weasel soon begged off, as Thomas said, "Alyissa, meet The Devil, Devil, Alyissa."

The "man" laughed, "Some say my name means Dragon Edwards, way to scare the poor girl."

The "man" put his book down, causing Thomas to snort, "Really, Bram Stroker's Dracula? I thought I had an ego."

The "man" pulled a wine bottle, filling a goblet with a thick crimson substance he said, "So Mr. Edwards, what can "The Devil", do for you?"

Thomas looked at the man, respectfully but seriously, "The three mother gorgons are hunting down Demi-gods. THeir breaking to pact. I'm going to kill them. Where are they?"

The man shook his head, "They aren't breaking the pact. A god asked them to do so, just like when the Cyclops's attacked your little camp and got Thalia Grace, they aren't working alone."

Thomas paled a bit, "Who? Mom sent me after the bastards. That means it's someone lower ranked then her. Oh that son of a BITCH!"

The being nodded, "Aries, God of War, seems he found out Aphrodite had a bit of fun while he was back in the either recharging after his last "Death". In a fury he made a deal with the three. They have a magic list, it says names and of every Aphrodite son or daughter born within the last five years."

Thomas's anger was a near physical force. He looked at the being, "And Athena's children? Sweetening the pot?"

The being nodded, "Yes. Seems he's still annoyed at you, so he sent his disgrace of a daughter with you."

Thomas stood up and nodded. He said, "Let's go."

The being looked at him, "You know information isn't free Boy."

Thomas nodded pulling a knife he slit his wrist. Letting the blood refill the mostly empty wine bottle. The man smiled. When the bottle was full the man said something the wound glowed red before it was healed. Soon they were back in the bus and Thomas seemed defeated. He looked at Aly, "You want to tell her? Fuck, this SUCKS!"

Alyissa scoffed "He's always been sore ever since I married a son of posiden, even though I'm leader of the gang he started." shrughing she followed thomas out of the club. "Isn't great your mom sent us on a quest where we were planned to get killed anyway. Real classy" she teased poking his shoulder.

Thomas shrugged, "My mother is a bitch. She's one of those cunts in high school who pays guys for what she can get out of it. Remember, Love isn't all sweet nothing at three in the morning. Love is also a stalker who rapes a woman, or a guy who beats his wife because she screwed up his dinner. Anyone who thinks my mother is "Harmless" is a moron. She's as happy watching two people go on a perfect date, as she is watching some kid slit his throat because some bitch wasn't interested in him."

He shook his head, "Remember, as much as stories where the prince saves the princess are love stories, so are Romeo and Juliet, ad the story of Helen of Troy. Theirs a reason the highest action point of a story is called the climax. Whether the ending is "Good" or "Bad" my mother gets off on it regardless. As long as you know that she's somewhat reasonable."

Thomas sighed, "Your father has pissed me off, because he's out thee murdering innocent children. Who knows how high the body count has already gotten."
