Fixers (Beautiful_Disgrace and I)

"Whoa, wait a minute," Luce muttered. "What the fuck are Aernir and I supposed to do? Just sit around and wait for something to happen and let the new girl figure it out?"

"Well..." Wizard coughed. "It is...not uncommon for these rich bozo's to have a servant or two..."

"No." Aernir began as he leaned against the wall. "Not doing it. Not gonna pretend to be any kind of servant. I don't even want to do this mission." Even though all he had to do was just stand there and be quiet.

"If this mission pays well, then what is the problem?" Rayna asked him, cocking her head to the side. Aernir grimaced. He was worried about her. She barely stayed with them for a day and they had no right to throw her on a dangerous mission like this. Rayna just stared at him blankly before grimacing. "Am I the problem? Do you not trust me, Aernir?"

"Look," Wizard mumbled. "Whatever the case, she wants to do the job, and turning something down like this would be bad for us...not to mention the pay is really good."

"Magic means...magic," Luce muttered. "...Rayna, are you sure about this? This is a trial by fire if I ever knew one."

"I'm not sure. If Aernir doesn't think I can then..." Rayna trailed off, a very..desolate expression on her face that made Aernir feel like shit. He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed.

"It's not that I don't think you can, I just.." That was really all he needed to say before Rayna snapped out of that miserable mood.

"Then yes, I'm sure. I even remember a little bit of his mansion...if he still lives in the same place."

That was a cruel, cruel thing she just did, but Luce shot Aernir a hopeless expression. Honestly, that was all it took? A pretty face looking sad to change his mind? Ugh.

"...If you're sure, Rayna," Wizard smiled. "If Luce trusts you, so do I."

Luce grumbled, but she didn't say anything. She supposed she did, she guessed. In her own way, maybe.

Aernir glanced at Luce and looked away. Yeah he was really easily manipulated by Rayna, and he truly didn't understand why. He never let women have this much power on him, yet..well it was different with her.

"Wonderful." Rayna exclaimed. "Do you like my outfit Wizard? Aernir?" The tailor at the clothing store said that it looked good on her, and she liked it. But...she wanted to hear their opinions before she asked Luce's thoughts.

"It's very..." Wizard mumbled, pausing a moment as Luce's casual, razor like gaze slid over to him. "Iconic? It suits you very nicely, Rayna." he smiled. "Very notable. Guess you took the signature look to heart, eh?"

"What Wizard said." Aernir told her, though his eyes settled on her cleavage for a bit. Luce's claws were stuck in her, she was a virgin and he could be manipulated by her..all that should have been a turn off but...it wasn't.

"Thank you. What about you, Luce. Do you like it?" Rayna asked her.

"...It suits you," Luce said neutrally. "Very...mage-like," she shrugged. Ugh, she was far too kind and cheery for a group of bitter Fixers...

Rayna would take it, but she also found something a little amusing. "I think this is the first time that no one has called me things like beautiful and gorgeous. I like that..the compliments are meaningful, even if Aernir didn't have a unique one on his own."

Ugh..she was really busting his balls and she was acting like she wasn't. "You wouldn't have liked a custom tailored compliment from me." He muttered. He needed a smoke..

"Stop being so pouty," Luce smirked. "What's the price on this one, Wizard?"

"...Three million," Wizard murmured, making Luce arch a brow in surprise. "My best guess? A worried wife, or someone missing their son or something, they want answers, and they want them yesterday."

Three million split four ways was still a lot of money. Plus Rayna was...worried? About the disappearing mages. After all, she was one herself. "When is he holding the next party? Does it say, or do we figure that part on our own?"

"Tomorrow night," Wizard smiled. "Gives us some time to make everything look proper, they gave us a proper invitation...we just need to dress the part. Luce, Aernir...like it or not, Rayna isn't going in alone, and you're not mages...so."

"Yeah yeah," Luce muttered. "I'm not wearing a skirt," End of discussion there.

Aernir knew he was going to have to wear a dress shirt and that sucked. But at least he looked good dressed up. Not that he wanted to impress Rayna or Luce...those to might full well be..lesbians or something. There was definitely something going on, he just didn't know what. "Do you even have anything nice to wear Luce? Be a shame if you had to go back out to find something fancy."

"Are all of your pants gaudy?" she said dryly. "Yes, I do have nice clothes, I think I clean up very nicely, thank you very much. What, you think I don't have anything nice because I don't dress like a pimp like you do?"

"You're being extra mean today, Luce. I don't know how that's even possible." Aenrir complained, his eyes glancing at Rayna. At least she wouldn't have a problem fitting in. "I don't dress like a pimp, I just like nice pants, I don't really wear shirts usually so something has to look nice."

"I'm making up for lost time, stop pouting," Luce muttered. "More importantly, Rayna...let's make sure you look the part, you know better than we do how to dress like a rich snob."

Rayna looked at Luce and nodded. She could have worn these clothes, but if she had two servants she probably should look more...rich. "A party dress is what I need, with satin gloves, and black, high heeled shoes. I should get my hair done as well. We can both get our hair done, Luce. Or I can do yours if you want." She gave Luce that innocent smile, assuming that all girls liked to dress up and get their hair done like she did. "I want to see the outfit you'll wear too!"

"I do too." Aernir muttered under his breath. What the hell would look nice on a woman other than a skirt?

"...Ugh," Luce grimaced. "Do I have to? What's wrong with my hair now?" She was being way too excited about this...

"It's very...practical?" Wizard tried. "But not very...rich servant, sort of look."

"I can braid it and wrap it in a bun. That always looks good, and I'm sure it will look good on you, Luce." Rayna moved over to her and ran her fingers through her hair, gingerly. "It's softer than it looks. I can definitely do it for you." She told her as she looked into her eyes, a warm and caring expression as bright as the sun on her face.

Aernir wasn't sure what was going on, but seeing them that close together was making his pants tighten. "I...I'm going to my room."

"...If you want to," Luce muttered, glancing away. "Just get your goddamn fingers out of my hair, alright?" What was with her? Did she completely ignore the entire body image of 'touch me and I'll fucking kill you'? She liked it, she couldn't ignore that. The feeling of her fingers running through her hair was a nice one, she usually didn't get that sort of thing from people touching her. Ugh, she didn't need this right now...

"...well, it'd help," Wizard said, arching his brow at Aernir. "If...you don't mind, Luce." Honestly, didn't seem much like it mattered what Luce wanted.

The man started to slink away, though when Rayna stopped playing with Luce's hair she looked back and called out to him. "Why are you leaving, Aernir?"

"Because, you both are weird and I just want to be alone." He answered before retreating back into the only crevice of safety he had away from those girls. Rayna just shrugged and then turned back to Luce.

"What do you think I should do with my hair? It's been a long time since I cut it this short."

"Don't ask me," Luce muttered. "I don't know a damn thing about hair...I just put it in a ponytail."

Wizard sighed a little, rubbing his forehead. "Alright...well, I've got some people who will lend us a hand-"

"Wait..." Luce muttered, hand up. "More people? why?"

"Because having Rayna here means we need to set up more contacts, having a mage is a big deal, Luce...hey, Aernir! Quit sulking and get ready to go! I've got something you need to do," Wizard murmured, his hand flicking across his screen.

"Do I get to meet more people, Wizard?" Rayna asked with absolute excitement. She looked down at her arm that was still bandaged from yesterday. It still throbbed and itched...but she thought she could heal it. She started unravel the bandage. If she was going to make more friends, she didn't want this to distract her or them.

Aernir didn't answer at first. Though he ended up putting on a shirt and coming back out of his room. "What am I getting ready for?"

"No, we need to send you to a tailor to properly dress you," Wizard sighed. "Luce, you're going with her...Aernir, I need to you to send a payment to a girl named Kali, she's an arms dealer in Brooklyn. She expressed interest in helping." he said, sending an encrypted bank transmission over their network. "Make sure she gets it, got it? Don't be lazy, make sure it's her before you send it over."
