The Mercenary (Beautiful_Disgrace and I)

"Link, and Impa...and about five thousand soldiers, give or take." he sighed. "We're split between here, Kakariko and Hyrule. We have no other options at the moment."

She didn't know anything about the layout of this place. Those words meant nothing to her and she didn't even know where they were now. "It sounds like you have a decent amount of people, but the real question is how many people do they have. I doubt I've seen even a fraction of their forces..."

"A lot. They have a lot of demons...last big battle we were outnumbered two to one I think...good thing is, most of them are dumb and don't know how to fight..." Sona commented casually. "But every so often there are..stronger creatures. The ones that aren't plentiful are the ones that are the most challenging. And then...then there's that black winged creep. I swear, I'm going to kill him next time I see him! It's his fault that Link had to give Ganondorf his triforce piece!"

"Let's not overload Samus with too much at once, Sona," Ike said. "Everything will be clearer when we get back to Hyrule Castle, Samus...until then, you're welcome to do as you like. We'll set out first thing tomorrow."

A black winged boy. Something called a triforce piece. She didn't understand any of it. Right now, she needed rest. She was still a little sore from the crash. There wasn't much she could do right now anyway other than get stared at by the men around here. She was starting to wonder if it was because she wasn't from this world, or if it was something entirely different...

"I'm just going to get some sleep. If that's fine..."

"Good idea for all of us," Ike murmured. "Gods know I'm exhausted," Too much to think about for one day...he was wondering if normal would ever come back into his world. Another part of him was wondering if he wanted that back.

"But you took a nap, Ike." Sona told him as Samus laid down. Her suit was comfortable enough to sleep in. More comfortable than her own skin considering what she could do to anyone that decided to attack her while she slept in it. "I'm not tired yet..." Sona whined.

Ike chuckled faintly. "Fine then, Sona...what would you like to do?" he said, glancing at her. "To get you tired, I mean?" Ugh, he was exhausted, but those eyes were deadly weapons. He couldn't resist them when she got all...needy.

Sona shook her head. "I'll do something else. Maybe talk to a few people. You look tired, so you can sleep." Probably the first time Sona volunteered to leave on her own..ever. But she was getting comfortable, especially around other people.

"...Okay," Ike said, tapping her cheek with an amused smile. "Behave yourself, please? I don't want to have the Captain come in here at dawn politely asking me to explain what 'boys washrooms' are?" She was getting much better, but it was still fun to tease her.

Sona pouted her lip and then grinned suddenly. "You should behave yourself too, Ike." She told him before scampering off. She didn't know what she was going to do or where she was going to go, but she wasn't tired at all.

"...Touche," Ike sighed, rubbing his head as he laid back down. But Samus was asleep, so...nothing to worry about, he hoped. Sona would be fine, right?

...Right?

...Maybe he'd stay up for a little bit to make sure she came back.

Sona had gone back to the common area were soldiers gathered, sniffing around for more food. They were happy to give her some, and she happily chatted with them. Some liked to really stare at her cleavage, but it's not like she minded or particularly cared. Though once she got bored, she walked outside and looked up at the sky. The moon was pretty. It was time for her to take a walk. Not too far out though...

There was something else in the moon tonight, something that seemed like a tiny little spec that was getting bigger. He couldn't believe what he saw, because she was like a miniature sun at night. He honestly thought it was Zelda as he swooped in low, red eyes narrowed. Ganondorf had become...fond of him, and Pit wasn't sure what to make of that. But...he sort of liked it, maybe. He and Medusa seemed to treat him like a...child, a son. And he had this stupid urge to do better for them. So, when he thought it was Zelda? He just dove for it, tackling her into a rough patch of grass as he clamped his hand around hers, blade raised to her throat.

Wait...this wasn't Zelda!

Sona was too busy lost in her own thought to notice anyone or anything around her. It was only when Pit was several feet above her did she look up and notice he was there...a few moments too late. She cried out when he tackled her to the ground and then she was about to struggle until she felt the cold steel of his blade at her her neck. Crap.

"You..!" She snarled, seeing her enemy that she had constantly talked about going after ever since their first encounter. She couldn't say much else considering her position, though.

"...Oh," Pit said, his expression bored and disappointed. "It's just you, I thought it was someone important." Well, she was important...but he wasn't going to let her know that. "The sword spirit, right?"

"Sona," She hissed to him. Ike gave her a name and she'd be damned if she would keep getting referred to as "sword" or "sword spirit". "Who did you think I was? You blind or something?!" Her chest was rising and falling quickly...she was experiencing that one thing...fear? Yeah that was it...she had to think of something to get out of this or she'd have a cut throat.

"No," Pit muttered, eyes narrowing as the blade pressed against her throat. "You...are like her, your signature is the same. It's blinding, it's annoying to fly at night with you around. " he said, his eyes trailing lower curiously. "You're like me, then," he muttered. "Not real."

Her and Zelda were like each other? What did he mean by that? What did he mean by she was blinding? "You don't make any sense." Sona growled, though she didn't dare make any sudden movements. "And I am real. I'm nothing like you. You're evil and you hurt people...."

"You're as real as I am 'Sona'," Pit muttered, eyes narrowed. "We're not born, we were made. We're more alike than you think," he said, letting go of her throat. "Tch, waste of my time coming out here in the first place."

The moment he let go, she immediately pushed him away and then gave him a confused look. Why did he just..let her go? Was he going to run away again? "..You were made? What do you mean by that?" She had figured she was the only person that was "made". Her eyes went to the wings on his back. "What are you? Who are you?"

"Pit," he muttered. "The 'real' Pit, but it doesn't matter. There's another one, and I'm supposed to be him...or what he should be. You were a sword, and now you're not. It's the same thing, you're made from something that you aren't anymore, and nothing is going to change that."

Sona grimaced and then scratched her head. He was made from someone else? She used to be a thing and now she was real though. She even breathed and everything. "So? What difference does it make? Being born and made are the same thing as being created. I'm not Ragnell anymore, I'm Sona. And you're...Pit." He was also the person who hurt Ike and Zelda and she should probably be drawing her sword right now to fight him but for some reason...that pathetic expression on his face was killing her fighting spirit. She crossed her arms, pulling more attention to her cleavage as she looked him up and down. This wasn't the monster she thought him to be.

"Tch, whatever...like you care," Pit grumbled. "You don't think it's wrong? That other people get to live while you were made? That you didn't have a choice? That you can't be free?"

"I am free. And so are you. Look at your wings. You can just fly wherever you want. You always have a choice, Pit. I just choose to stay with Ike because he's my friend." Wait, was he being forced to do these evil things by Ganondorf and Medusa? Did he not want to do it? Her eyebrows furrowed and she looked into his eyes. "Wait...you don't have that choice, do you? To leave whenever you want?"

"It doesn't matter if I do, or I don't. My powers are not mine to have," Pit muttered. "Either I am free and weak, or strong and caged. My purpose for existing is to be useful, what is yours?"
