He froze fearing the worst but when she covered for him he smiled and immediately took up her lie. "Yes I did not want to quantify it so. I have seen her eyes in the morning, mid day and evening sun. I must say that even the heavens on a clear night are not as lovely. " He spoke softly every word of what he said was completely true and his affection shown on his face. He was correct in coming her she had already lied for him twice he had to get closer to this young woman.

She swallowed a little nervously, hoping he would agree with her and she sighed to herself when he agreed with what she had said. But as he went on to compliment her again, she giggled softly while Bernard slowly nodded and began eating once more. Bernard could tell that his daughter was quite taken with the young man she had brought home and he momentarily wondered just what it was about Adrien that his daughter liked and he wondered why he just appeared out of no where but he didn't say anything about it.

He smiled as she chuckled and let out a small happy sigh pleased he was able to unsettle her. He smiled at her again and took a dink of his wine only a few bits of food remaining on his plate. He was going to be very happy when he returned to this city in the near future. It seemed to him that he had found a place he could feel his old self again. It pleased him that he found a girl who could care about him.

"So, what are you doing here in this city?" Bernard asked him. Faye paused in the middle of picking up her glass of wine and glanced at Adrien, wondering what he would say in reply to her fathers question. Adrien didn't have to explain it all to her the other night to know what he had done to that man, she'd known when she saw the blood on his hands. She was, after all, much smarter then most gave her credit for. When her father passed on she had the brains to take over his business even though most would find it a little inappropriate, but she didn't care.

He looked at him as he asked the question as calm as ever clearly this was a question he answered regularly. "I was in town on business. There was a man who i no longer wished to deal with so i ended the situation. " He spoke softly purposely being vague but making it sound as though he did not want to embarrass them man who just got fired. He took a deep breath looking over to the young girl smiling. "Sadly it was all the excuse i could make to keep me here. Though once i return home i may see if my mother can find an excuse to return me. "

Bernard nodded with a knowing expression on his face. "Ah, yes. It is a little difficult ending business relations. Makes things awkward." he said. "That's why it's best to choose your business partners wisely. But even wise business choices can go bad." Faye shook her head with a small smile while finishing her dinner and returning to her wine. She could tell that her father was beginning to get a little tipsy, they very slight slur in his speech telling her how much he'd drunk so far. "Adrien will have to leave town to return home, but he'd said we could keep in touch with letters." she said softly.

"Yes i have a bit of work to finish before i leave town but i will be leaving tomorrow morning. " He smiled able to tell her father was a bit drunk and that made him relax a bit. He would be less likely to catch any mental slips he had while they spoke. He smiled looking over at her as she spoke about him writing her he knew he would need to find places she could easily access not wanting to draw to much attention to her. "I will be looking forward to seeing you again when i am able to return. "

Faye finished her wine and motioned for a little more before looking at her father. "Perhaps, father, we should retire to the parlor to relax a bit." she said gently and he nodded in agreement. "That is a good idea Faye." He stood up and turned, heading out of the dinning room and leaving them behind. Slowly Faye stood up with a soft laugh. "I apologize about him. He must of been drinking for a bit before we got here." she said and picked up her wine glass. "Shall we join him then?"

Adrien stood and moved to help her stand smiling as he looked at her. He smiled slipping his arm around her lower back chuckling as she apologized. "It is fine he is not that bad I have been around much worse. I would rather spend my time with you but i suppose i can not do that. " He chuckled leading her to the the parlor following her father as they entered the room. His hand fell away from her side and he smiled over at her as he moved in to set near her father. "Thank you for dinner it was quite wonderful."

She blushed a little when he wrapped his arm around her lower back and she smiled up at him as they headed to the parlor and she looked up at him as he spoke. "Maybe you can." she whispered to him. "I know this may sound very inappropriate, but you do know where my bedroom window is after all." She blushed a little more before smiling at her father as they entered, moving to sit in one of the chairs in the room. Bernard looked up as they entered and he nodded at Adrien's thank you. "You're welcome. I shall pass your compliment on to the cheff." he said.

"I must thank you both this was the first meal i have had in nearly 4 years that made me feel at home. " He smiled looking to each of them it had been 5 years since his father passed and he had spent 4 of that traveling on his search for revenge. " I hope i will be able to join you for dinner again some time in the not to distant future. " He smiled looking at her leaning back into the chair a bit relaxing as best he could.

Bernard smiled gently and nodded. "I am glad you enjoyed yourself." he said to the young man. "And it would be wonderful if you joined us for dinner another time." Faye nodded happily in agreement with her father and smiled at Adrien. "Oh, I would love it if you did come for dinner again. Your company is very enjoyable." The woman glanced at her father as he took another drink from his glass and she shook her head slightly, knowing her father would be completely inebriated by the end of the evening.

"I do have some things i need to be doing before it gets to late. I would hate to be running around after dark after what happened yesterday. " He smiled looking at her father still wanting to keep his image as the sun of a well of man nervous about danger. He turned and looked to Faye smiling he reached out and took her hand bringing it delicately to his lips. "It was a pleasure today and i eagerly await our next meeting. " He smiled standing slowly preparing to make his exit hoping she would accompany him to the door.

The older man nodded with a frown. "Yes. That was horrible what happened. And to thing the man that did it got away." he said with a shake of his head. "You be careful. These are dangerous times and there are mad people roaming the streets now." Faye smiled slightly before looking up at him as he reached out and grasped her hand, bringing it to his lips and she smiled a little wider as he spoke. "I look forward to that time." she said to him before slowly standing with him. "I'll walk you to the door." she said softly, smoothing down her skirt and brushing her hair back over her shoulder.

He smiled waiting for her for a moment before placing his hand on her lower back as he lead her from the room. He remained quiet until they reached the front door with a smile he glanced around the room. Finding them alone he leaned down and stole a brief kiss, their lips touching for only moments. "I may visit you tonight it depends on how my tasks for the night go. If they take to very long i will need to retire to sleep. " His voice barely a whisper not wanting anyone to him visiting her in the night.

She walked with him out into the hall and she paused at the front door, glancing down at her feet then back up at him with a small smile before gasping when he kissed her softly before she blushed just and little. As he whispered to her, she nodded and slowly slipped her hands into his, her fingers entwining with his. "Shall I leave my window unlocked for you then?" she asked softly, gazing up into his eyes. Affection for the man before her showed in her pale eyes as she looked up at him.

"Please do it is safer then me sneaking into your room from your mothers. " He spoke again softly looking at her not wanting to leave but knowing he had to. Slowly his fingers pulled from hers as he stole one last kiss then began to walk out the door. A sad sigh escaping his lips as the door close his heart sank he wanted so badly to be with her longer but he needed to leave soon.

She nodded with a small smile and nodded. "Of course." she said softly before blushing a little when he kissed her again. "Good night Andrie." she whispered before watching him leave, closing and locking the door after him. She turned and headed up to her rooms where she was ambushed by her nurse who ushered her into her bedroom to change into her nightdress. "Good night Nurse." she said to the woman after she was tucked into bed. But the moment her nurse was out of her bedroom, she slipped out of bed and moved over to her window, unlatching it before picking up her journal and she began writing in it as she sat there in bed propped up against her pillows and her covers drawn up around her waist.

He moved quickly threw the city pulling up small bricks here and there with his dagger hiding tiny trinkets and pieces of jewelery. Each hidden in a place no one would ever look with out being told to do soon. It was nearly an hour later when he climbed to the window of her house breathing heavily in the cold air. He was not certain exactly what was going to happen when he got there. Once he pulled was there he knocked lightly pushing the window open looking inside. "May i come in? " He said smiling pulling himself into the room quickly.

She had dozed off a bit when he returned and she jumped a little when he knocked on her window and she looked up when he pushed it open and she smiled as he asked if he could come in. Sitting up all the way, she nodded and watched him enter the room. "Yes. You may." she whispered to him, not knowing if her nurse was still up and she slid out of bed, moving over to her bedroom door and peeking out to see nurse fast asleep before closing her door again and turning to look at him with a bright smile.

He smiled standing up and closing the window quickly before turning to her and looking into her eyes. "I am not certain why you asked me to come here but i am here none the less. " He spoke softly looking at her biting his lip lightly looking at her wanting to kiss her so badly but not certain what she wanted. His voice remained soft looking into her eyes in the darkness and it pleased him to just see her there.

She shivered as a draft swept into the room before he closed the window and she chuckled softly as he spoke, moving closer to him and placing her hands on his chest. "But I did not ask you here. You merely spoke of coming tonight." she said softly while smiling up at him, not caring that she was in her nightdress before him and the only light in the room was the fire in the fireplace and the low light from a single lamp on her bedside table. "But I am glad you are here none the less."

He smiled and leaned down pressing his lips into her tenderly his hands moving to her waist. He he groaned softly loving the way her lips tasted and wanting to kiss her more passionately but thinking better of it. After several long moments he pulled back smiling his hands going to hers holding them lightly. With his armor under his shirt she would feel nothing anyways. "I enjoy spending time with you a great deal. "

She sighed softly when she felt his lips press against hers and she smiled against his lips as she kissed him back, pressing herself to his chest. Her eyes fluttered shut as they kissed until he pulled back and she slowly opened her eyes to look up at him with a small smile, turning her hands to hold his. "And I enjoy spending time with you as well." she whispered to him.

He smiled as she said she enjoyed her time with him slowly moving to the chair before the fire and sat down. His hands still in hers gently pulling her down towards his lap his eyes locked on hers. "I should not stay to long I would hate to keep you up to late. " He wanted so badly to lay with her tonight but he knew he could not do that.
