Faye was about to look up at him and speak when he apologized and she sighed. She slowly let the room, her steps silent as she made her way down stairs behind him, smiling politely at the inn keeper before they stepped outside. The young woman lifted the hood of her cloak once again to ward off the chill that hung in the air and as they walked together in silence, it seemed even colder. Every now and then she felt his hand brush against hers and she bit her bottom lip.

Finally after several minutes, she reached out and slowly hooked one of her fingers with his. It wasn't quite holding hands but it was a step in that direction. It was actually rather cute the way she gently grasped his pointer finger with hers, almost as if she were a child. "You... you didn't have to apologize for what you did." she whispered to him. "I wasn't offended or anything, I just...." She trailed off with a sigh and shook her head slightly. "I've never been kissed before and it took me by surprise. I was more embarrassed then anything else."

When he felt her hook his finger he smiled letting it stay like that for a moment. "It was too bold of me. I should not have done that it was not something i should have done. " He smiled leaning in to whisper int her ear as he re-griped her hand holding it lightly lacing their fingers. "You are a fantastic kisser with a little practice you will be much better then me. " He smiled continuing to lead her back to her home letting out a soft sigh.

Faye shook her head with a tiny smile. It was merely a slight upturn of the corners of her mouth but it was a smile none the less. "Adrien... I happen to like boldness." she murmured. "So many treat me as if I'm made of the finest china and will shatter if anything happens. They tip-toe around me." She smiled a little more when he re-gripped her hand and began blushing as he whispered in her ear. "Oh shush." she said with a soft giggle.

She knew that when they arrived at her home, her nurse would whisk her away to bathe and ready for dinner while her father spent time speaking with Adrien. She could only wonder what things nurse has already told him. Probably that he was a ruffian that they met on the street that had no manners.

He smiled whispering again looking into her eyes enjoying having someone like him who actually knew what he was. He stopped just before the door looking over at her enjoying being with her in these quite moments. "Perhaps i shall have the chance to be bold again before i retire for the night. " He smirked at her gently knocking on the door to announce their presence.

He smiled when the door open and the nurse grabbed the girls hand pulling her inside. "I shall see you for dinner Faye." He chuckled stepping inside waiting at the door so that her father could tell him where to go. He pulled his cloak a bit closer shut to hide his dagger a bit better not wanting that to be the first thing her father saw. He already knew he looked very large and a bit bulky with his armor on under his clothing.

She bowed her head with a small grin before looking up a moment later when he knocked on the door. She knew that she could of just opened the door and lead him inside but she didn't. When the door opened, she gasped as she was grabbed and pulled inside. As her nurse dragged her towards the steps, she looked back and nodded before disappearing upstairs with nurse. The moment she was in her rooms, she put the basket down and nurse began tugging her cloak off and ushering her into her bathroom where a hot bath was waiting. "Your fathers insisted that you look especially nice since you brought home a guest." she grumbled as she unbuttoned Fayes dress.

Once she was bare, she was helped into the bath where nurse washed her hair with rose oils. Meanwhile, one of the maids escorted Adrien to a study type of room where Fayes father was having a drink. He was sitting before a large fireplace while he drank from a glass. "Please, sit." he said to Adrien, motioning towards one of the chairs.

Adrien smiled looking over the lavish home his my slowly reverting back to before his father passed. He was a very well off young man back in those days his youthful smile came back as he walked threw the lavish home. He nodded politely as he was told to sit down. Slipping his cloak free on his left side leaving it to mask his right where the blade still hung. He sat down carefully smiling at her father. "You have a very lovely home sir thank you for having me. "

Once his dagger was safely hidden by the arm of the chair he slipped the cloak off his arm and relaxed slightly. "I hope you do not mind your daughter inviting a complete stranger over for dinner. " He looked at him smiling his chipper happy attitude never failing him. "Your daughter is quite an amazing young woman. "

Fayes father watched the young man sit down from the corner of his eyes and his dark gaze studying the youth that his daughters nurse had been complaining about. He seemed polite enough and he certainly didn't dress like the scoundrels that run around the streets. As he thanked him, the older man merely arched an eyebrow. "Well, from what Christine told me, I didn't have much of a choice." he said after taking another drink of his alcohol. "She told me Faye was rather insistent on bringing you home with her for dinner. I don't approve of last minute guests, but if it makes my daughter happy, I'll tolerate it."

He turned and moved over to one of the other seats and sat down as well. When he turned completely, he was visible to Adrien and he would be able to see that the man looked nothing like his daughter. Where she had dark hair and pale gray eyes, he had a strawberry blonde color hair which was pulled back with a ribbon and he had dark blue eyes. The only resemblance between them was their height. It was clear that despite the fact that he was a merchant and worked in an office most of the time, he did not have the pudgy form most merchants tended to have.

At the mention of his daughter, he nodded slightly. "Yes, she is. Faye is an angel on earth." he said. "Much like her mother was. Always caring for others more then herself. Would you like a drink?"

"No thank you sir, I do not like the way it dulls my senses. Besides i do not want to get drunk and risk offending your daughter. " He smiled leaning back watching her father move around the room glad he did not mind. "Normally i would have sent word a week in advance but i will be leaving town tomorrow morning. I have business to attend to back home. " He spoke softly smiling his eyes studding the man as he would any trying to gauge the measure the man. "I am would imagine her mother must have been very beautiful. I would imagine she bears a good deal of resemblance to her. "

He nodded and leaned back in his chair. Even though he himself indulged in drinking once in a while and had a drink at least once a day, he liked the fact that Adrien did not wish for any, not wanting to take the chance of offending Faye. Most men that came to his house accepted a drink readily. "Then I can not fault you." he said. A small smile formed on the mans lips and he slowly nodded again. "Yes, she does look just like her mother." he replied and glanced at a portrait of his wife which hung on the far wall. It was a portrait of a woman that looked almost identical to Faye and in her lap sat a little girl who was barely two years old.

"I must say your daughter speaks extremely fondly of you. I must say i can not blame her, there are not many fathers who would allow her the choices you do. " He smiled deciding he liked her father which pleased him enough. He was beginning to wonder where Faye was he missed her and wanted to see her again. "Faye will be joining us for dinner will she not? Her nurse stole her away the moment the door was opened as if she where in trouble. " He looked at her father hoping he would be allowed to spend more time with her.

"Well, I do want her to be happy. She is all I have in life. If she hadn't been born, I would of went back out to sea." he said before finishing his drink. The young mans question on whether or not Faye would be joining them amused him. He could tell that he was rather fond of his daughter. "Yes, she will be joining us. Faye would not bring a guest home for dinner then not join us unless she was sick." After setting aside his glass, he stood up with a sigh and brushed a lock of his strawberry blonde hair from her face. "Come, I'll show you to the dinning room where we'll wait for her to join us." Turning, he headed out of the study and lead the way deeper into the house.

"You where a sailor before your daughter was born? It would appear your daughter and i have more in common then we knew. " He smiled waiting for him to turn before standing and rehidding his blade. He caught up to the man quickly standing at his side as they walked. Even in his boots his steps made little sound against the wood floor. Having learned to walk silently it now became second nature to him. "And what will you do with yourself should your daughter ever choose a man to marry?"

"Yes, I had been a sailor before I met her mother. Infact, that was how we met. I worked on the ship that transported her fathers goods. I was the captain for a while and when I met her, I was infatuated and I asked if I could court her. After we married, I took over her fathers business." he said as he entered the dinning room and he moved over to his seat, motioning to the seat on the left of his for Adrien to sit. The right hand seat was for the lady of the house and since his wife had passed on, his daughter now sat there. "As for what I will do if and when she marries, I'm not entirely sure." he replied.

Not long after they took their seats, the sound of Faye coming down the steps could be heard. A few minutes later she appeared in the doorway. She was wearing a similar gown to the pale green one she had on earlier except this one was a pale lavender and silver and her long hair was partially pulled back and held there with a comb. Seeing her in the doorway, her father stood and smiled gently as she walked towards him. "You look beautiful darling." he said and kissed her on the forehead.

"I suppose should i ever actually settle down and get married i will return to my fathers business. Though i don't think i will ever do it as well as he did. " He enjoying the fact that her father was not the lazy business man he had expected. It pleased him to know that they both had adventurous points in their lives. It gave him hope that he could actually settle down and be just another man.

When she entered the room he stood and moved to her chair pulling it out for her. "You look absolutely amazing Faye. Every time i see you it seems you have found a way to do the impossible. " Smiling at her helping her set down before returning to his seat and setting down across from her. "I do not know how you continue to look more beautiful after every visit we have. "

"Few believe that they'd do as well as their predecessor." he said with a nod. "I certainly didn't believe I'd be as good as my wife's father. What business is your father involved in?" he asked curiously. After Faye entered the room, he watched in slight amusement as the young man pulled out her chair and began complimenting her. He smiled when he heard Faye laugh softly and he took his seat once again after Faye did.
Faye smiled up at Adrien and sat down, laughing at his compliments. "Sir, you really are a flatterer." she said through her laughter. "You really are too kind." Her pale cheeks had flushed a deep red and she was grinning up at him. "I see you have gotten to know my father a little."

"My father was a banker my mother runs his bank now as i have yet to take my place as she calls it. " He smiled looking up at her winking playfully as she called him a flatterer. "Just because i say things simply to cause your cheeks to flush does not mean that one word of them is false. I simply like wording them in a way that you will find flattering. " His smile never fading as he turned to her father thinking about getting to know him. "Yes i certainly have gotten to know him a bit I must say its quite refreshing he ... Is an inspiration. "

Her father slowly nodded. "You're mother must be a very intelligent woman to run a bank." he said to Adrien. "And I'm sure you'll do a good job when you finally take your place running it." He glances at his daughter and smiles slightly when she giggles softly and blushes even darker as she sits. "I'm sure. But you're still a flatterer." she said with a smile. At hearing that he found her father an inspiration, she arched an eyebrow. "An inspiration? How so?" she asked with a chuckle.

"Your father and i both lead ... adventurous lives. He found a woman who was willing to accept him and make him happy. That means some day i may find a woman who will forgive my my past. " He spoke softly knowing that a woman who did so would have to do so blindly he could never share to much of the life he lead. He smiled looking at her she knew he was a murder and she had protected him. How would she feel to know that he had been doing that for many years.

She looked up as one of the maids came in and began pouring wine, smiling as the deep red liquid was poured into her glass. She lifted her glass and took a sip. "Ah, yes. My fathers mysterious past from being out at sea." she said with a soft chuckle and set her glass back down. "The great Captain Bernard Chatsworth." she said. Her father shot her a look filled with slight amusement when he heard the slightly teasing lilt in her soft voice. Faye smiled at her father as she giggled again. The maid pouring the wine slowly made her way around to where Adrien was and paused, softly asking if he would like some of the red wine.

He nodded to the maid chuckling softly at the interaction of her and her father. He smiled looking over at her chuckling shaking his head. Knowing his daughter would not be able to say the same things about him. "I suppose then i should take great care to ensure i treat your daughter properly. I would not want you reliving your sailor days and attacking me in the streets... From a boat... " He laughed playfully looking over at her father winking teasing him slightly.

The woman smiled at him and poured him some wine before retreating to the kitchen to help with the finishing touches on dinner. "I don't need a boat to attack you an the streets." he said and Faye reached out, swatting at her fathers arm with a smile. "Oh shush. You're nothing but a big teddy bear." the girl said and they both laughed softly. "But yes, I believe that you'll meet a woman eventually. After all, everyone has someone that they're meant to be with. It all depends on whether or not they choose to be with the person." She smiled at him, her eyes glimmering brightly as she gazed into his eyes.

"We all have someone we just pray we live long enough to find them. Then live a bit longer so you can be together. " He smiled his eyes lighting up as he stared into hers for a few moments. He let out a soft happy sigh as he took a sip of the wine it felt so great to be human again. He had spent so long as an assassin that he thought more himself a dealer of death then a person.

Faye lifted her glass and took another drink of her wine, smiling slightly before nodding. "Indeed. Though sometimes we find that someone but just don't realize it yet." she said to him. As they spoke, Bernard looked back and forth between the two while he drank his wine, an eyebrow raising as he watched their interaction curiously. Before he could say anything, several maids came in with their food and set down the bowls of potatoes, vegetables and the small platter that had carved roast beef on it. "Looks wonderful as usual." he said to the older woman that stood there. "Thank you." he said and she nodded before turning and leaving. "Well, lets eat." With that he began putting food onto a plate.

Adrien waited allowing them both to plate their food before doing his own. He smiled helping Faye place things onto her plate his eyes sparking as he watched her. He knew he very well may have found his perfect woman but he was not certain she would accept him completely. Unfounded or not his fears still made him nervous even as he plated his food and began to eat. "This food is amazing, absolutely perfect the only thing i could imagine to be better. " He smiled looking at Faye smirking before finishing his sentence. "Is the way your eyes light up in the m... sun light. " He caught himself just before his slip hoping her father did not hear him nearly say moon.

Faye looked up at Adrien from under her long eyelashes as she placed food onto her plate with his help, softly thanking him. Once they all had their food, she began eating her food. She ate with the manors of a lady, the teachings of her tutors, nurse and mother showing through. When Adrien spoke up, she glanced at him and began blushing once more. Her father how ever had a completely different reaction. Bernard paused and set his utensils down. "Excuse me?" he said after noticing Adriens small slip up. Faye quickly spoke up. "I'm sure he was going to say the morning sun." she says softly. "We met rather early yesterday in the morning while nurse and I were out at the market place. He was kind enough to escort us to the cemetery."
