Alexan nodded. She had a good point and, quite frankly, sheâd certainly know better than him since heâd never owned a fish in his life. Or for that matter, a pet of any kind. He knew other demons had pets but heâd just never given it much thought. Now, though, the idea intrigued him. He would wait until they were settled before thinking about it again. When she spoke again, he turned and looked at the painting she held. It was beautifully done, showing a man and a woman from a different era, which one he didnât know. It was clear that the man was looking at the woman with fondness. He studied it for a second longer, than looked up and smiled. âI would love to do thatâ he said, reaching out and taking it from her. âIâll go hang it now.â He left then, retrieving his hammer and nails, and entered his room. He looked around for the right spot, then settled for hanging it over his bed. Done, he stepped back and stared at it some more. It really was a beautiful painting. She had chosen well for him. He left his room, checking in on her to make sure she didnât need any additional help.
