Alexan saw Susan get up and walk out of his house but he failed to follow her immediately. His mind going back over what he had seen and what it meant, running through it again and again. What it meant was wonderful yet dangerous. That it was felt every time they touchedâ¦â¦well, he didnât want to consider that yet though he suspected he knew. He just wasnât sure she would be happy about it. He shook his head softly, suddenly realizing that his behavior may have been why she walked out and then realized that she was outside and unprotected. More importantly, unshielded! He hurried as fast as he could â his injuries healed considerably in that last blast of magic but he still hobbled a little â and slipped through the door, finding her sitting by the tree, her legs curved up beside her. Her face was tilted towards the sky and her eyes were closed and in that moment, she looked so beautiful, his heart raced. He approached her and quietly sat down next to her and, without her noticing it (or so he thought) he shielded her with his magic. He took her hand gently, feeling the hum begin immediately, and turned her face to look at him. âSusan, Iâm sorry if my reaction scared you. We must talkâ he looked around them âbut we canât do it here. Will you come back inside?â
