Rallon did not get the message.
He was also at the church speaking with the priest there and the mother superior to discuss a problem about the chapel in the castle, a dispute over Alyssa and David's christenings. The priest and the nun both had no issues, but some nobles had claimed that it had not been handled correctly because it had been done in Rose's mansion, despite being completed in their consecrated chapel.
It was truly just a way for the nobles to try to control Rallon's child and godson, but as requested he was letting that go in favor of signing some documents for them both.
He had just finished when he heard a carriage pull up, and curious he went to the door to see who it, then smiling he went out to greet his wife, helping her down, and stole the baby who squealed upon seeing her daddy. "Well if it isn't two of my three favorite ladies."
Cynthia barked and stood up to kiss her mother. "And there is the third. What brings you here my love?" He watched her face curious but not truly concerned as he was holding the baby. His hair and chest were gleaming with fresh water as he cuddled the baby.
The mother superior oohed upon seeing Rose, then again upon seeing the baby. She tried to take the child from her father and he growled. "Not happening Sister." And the two began to bicker about who would hold the baby while Alyssa gurgled and squealed at all the attention.
The priest bowed to Rose. "Lady Granger your visit is most welcome. Is this in regard to your children's home or other business?"
He smiled down at Cynthia, then pointed to one of the benches where Tuchesi lay sleeping. "Your son-in-law seems to be quite worn out." His eyes twinkled playfully, then he grew more serious. "I suppose you recall that the anniversary of our dear brother Patrick's death is coming soon?"
He crossed himself and breathed a prayer for the fallen man. "The Archbishop wants to come visit for the day, to pray for York after the loss of such a good man. I felt you might wish to be there."
Rallon and the sister were still arguing over Alyssa, who was giggling now, pawing at her daddy's face.
