Triangle Romance (Smokey and I)

Lillian ruffled Sam's hair and went into the kitchen with Tony. "Tony, do you love me?" At this point all that came out of Tony's mouth was do you love me? DO you want to be my wife? I'm going to get you pregnant tonight. He sounded like a broken record at this point. "You keep asking the same questions over and over again like they will change at any moment then you'll get your wish. Got it? Keep asking me if I love you or be your wife then you won't see me again."

She walked to Sammy and kissed his head. "I have errands to run big guy. See you later." She said as she grabbed her coat and purse before she left the two. She wanted Tony to realize instead of drawing her closer that his fear is driving her away, FAR AWAY.

Tony felt like an idiot for not being as secure as he should have. He had been alone with his son for so long and the last woman who claimed to love him, Sammy's mother, ended up sleeping around and left the two before Sammy was even a year old. He couldn't help it but he would definitely drop the subject. Sammy hugged Lillian before she left. "I love you mommy." He said happily to her. Tony watched as she left trying to get her to stay would be a bad move so he just let her go to clear her head. He felt horrible. He sat down on the couch and Sammy came walking over to him. "Papa, why did mommy leave?" He asked with a sad look on his face. Tony just hugged his son. "Your papa is an idiot, son, I just hope she comes back....." He said softly. Sammy started to cry. "Is it my fault papa? did I make mommy go away?" He said as he sobbed into his father's chest. "No pal, it's not your fault, it's my fault......" Tony sighed and just hugged his son. Sammy couldn't help but cry. "M-mommy's going to be c-coming back though, right, daddy?" He asked between tears. Tony took a tissue and wiped his son's tears away. "Don't cry buddy, it's not your fault.......Mommy will be back when she's ready to come back....." Sammy nodded and ended up falling asleep soon after in his father's arms. Tony just sat there on the couch holding the cub, not wanting to move or disturb him. Tony's phone rang and he looked at it. It was Sammy's mother, probably asking for more money or something. He just hit ignore and threw the phone across the room.

Lillian went home and got dressed in fresh clothes and did come back. Letting herself in to see Sammy was asleep in Tony's lap.

"I guess he's one tired pup." She said with a smile. She was fine just wished Tony was more secure and understood if she didn't love or care about him then she wouldn't have said yes to his proposal. Walking over as she rubbed Sammy's soft ears. "I can't get enough of his wolf ears." She smiled at Tony seeing the hurt look in his eyes. "Darling, I had to say something or you'd continue on then I would have left without a goodbye."

Tony nodded. "I know, I'm sorry baby.....it won't happen again, it's just......when Sammy's mother left......." He didn't finish his sentence he looked down at his son then back up at her. "I had found out she was cheating on me with 3 other men......it killed me.....I'm not saying you're anything like her because I know you aren't, but it's just hard to shake something like that, it really kinda kills someone's sense of security.....I don't want Sammy to go through that again. I do love you baby and I know you love me, I'm sorry, I'll be a better fiancee." He said softly. The truth was just that, Tony was hurt so bad by his ex he had a hard time trusting everyone, not that he didn't trust Lillian, because he did, he was more concerned for his son. He didn't want his son to lose another mother figure in his life. He kissed the top of Sammy's head then looked at Lillian and patted the spot beside him. "He loves you, you know......he asks about you every night. "When is mommy coming to live with us, daddy." He really adores you babe..." Tony said softly.

"I still say you're using him to get me." She giggled as she moved next to Tony. "I can understand you're uneasy and such but it feels like you don't hear me when I tell you I love you and I will marry you. Its like why bother answering if you're going to keep asking the same question like a broken record. It falls under creepy where you men would call it nagging." She smiled as she was trying to be light.

He nodded. "I'm sorry my love, you're right." He kissed her lips and pulled her even closer. Sammy woke up and saw his future mother and hugged her. "Mommy!! you came back!" He said happily his tail wagging about. He kissed her cheek and cuddled into her. Tony smiled at her. "Babe, wanna go shopping for your ring now?" He asked softly. Sammy smiled at her. "Papa loves you mommy, when are you going to be my mommy? Daddy says when you're ready to marry him you'll be my mommy, can't you be my mommy now?" Sammy said with hope in his eyes. He really just wanted to feel a mother's love that he never had when he was a baby. Tony looked at her and smirked. "Hey don't look at me, he's on his own." He smiled.

Laughing as she grabbed Sammy up in her arms and cuddled with him. "I can't be your mommy now since I'm still your teacher and your father and I haven't discussed when the ceremony will be." She said as she looked to Tony. "We're not leaving Sam here are we? I mean if we're doing the shopping now then you should have let Sam gone to school."

Tony kissed her gently. "We can go whenever you want but we'll take Sam with us." He said softly. "I tried getting a babysitter last night but she couldn't come so that's why I said we'll leave him home and take him with us since we don't know how long we'll be.....and besides if we go now, we can take our time looking, and even go get lunch after." Sammy heard that and his tail wagged. "yay!" He giggled happily. "I think Sammy likes that idea, what do you think baby?" Tony smiled leaning over he gave her a loving kiss on the lips one that told her he was her wolf and he never wanted to lose her.

Now she saw what he was heading on if they didn't get done in time then Sam would be locked out of the house or alone here. "Lets head out now. So Sam go get dressed." She swatted his rump to get him going but she moved curling up against Tony. "So you had this planned out ahead of time and had back up plans incase something happened. Good thing to know about you."

Sam ran upstairs to get washed up and dressed. Tony held her in his arms. "Yep. My lady and son come before anything else. You and Sammy are my entire world." He kissed her lips and smiled. Tony had broken his phone and when he looked at it he saw the screen was cracked. "Looks like i'll need a new phone...." He sighed That's when it hit him. "Hey babe, would you like a new phone? They have a deal going on now for a new family plan, since we're gonna be getting married, why don't we go sign up today and get new phones?" Tony suggested. Sam was still a cub but Tony would make sure in the future he could add him onto the plan and have him get his own phone as well for safety reasons.

Lillian looked over at his phone seeing it as broken. "Alright but....What happened to your phone?" She asked but noticed Sam wasn't there so he could tell her what was going on. "Those phones are hard to break and I don't think I got you THAT upset." She said to him as she got to her feet though now she felt like her stomach was suddenly upset. Tensing her stomach up until it eased itself down though her hand was directly over her stomach. It had hit her what if Sam wasn't Tony's son but someone elses and Tony was just raising him then that would explain why Tony was so damn determined on getting her pregnant. He may want to make sure he did have a child that came from his loins and no one elses.

He sighed and finally spoke. "My ex......she called me and texted me asking me for stuff......" He sighed. "Sammy......isn't mine.....I love him like he is, and he is my son in the sense that I have custody, but my ex cheated on me......we had been married for 3 years, and when she became pregnant I was so happy, but then I found out she had been sleeping around behind my back with 3 other men.....one of them.....is Sammy's real father." He said softly in a low voice so his son didn't hear. "I can't stand the sight of her and....the way she hurt Sammy....abandoned him......." He said softly. He looked down at his broken phone then into her eyes.

"It makes sense why you're determined to get me pregnant..." She said in a low voice but looked at the photos of him and Sam. "Funny you two look alike but you raised him so he is your son." Smiling as she leaned in kissing his cheek. "Don't worry I will carry your child in the future. Until then let the fun be in the journey." She didn't want Tony to focus on the goal itself but enjoy the process to the goal. She was once like him until she had a mental break down then everything snapped back in place of what needed to be done.

Once Sam was done she followed Tony out to his car and slipped into the passenger sit but winced slightly. "Remember me to smack Rick the next time I see him." She whispered to Tony with a smirk on her lips.

Tony smiled at her. Sammy got into the backseat and buckled up. Tony had taught him how to do so. Tony smiled at his son from the rearview mirror. He looked at Lillian and smled. "Don't worry babe, I'll make that feel all better tonight, I promise, and no not with what you think." He giggled. They drove off to the jewelry store to pick out her engagement ring. He would give it to her that friday evening and pop the question, a 2nd time but officially. Sammy smiled cutely and asked innocently. "What's wrong mommy?" He said softly.

"Oh I fell on the stairs when I went home to change. So I hurt my tailbone." She lied but she didn't want to tell the cub the truth. When they arrived to the jeweler's she walked to the white gold section. To her the white gold spoke elegance and class as the plain gold was just so common. Finding the ring that had one diamond set in the white gold that was bit pricey but she couldn't take her eyes off of it.

"This one Tony." She said as she looked at him but suddenly it felt like someone kicked her in the gut. "Pardon but wheres the bathroom?!" She sounded rushed as the sales woman pointed to the back as Lillian raced off to slam the door behind her, puking in the toilet.

Tony looked at the ring and was a bit concerned when she raced to the bathroom. "Oh boy, i hope she's okay." Tony said softly. Sammy tugged at his father's pants."Papa...can I see the ring?" He said softly. Tony picked up the cub and put him on his shoulders. "See buddy? This is the one mommy wants." He said softly. The ring was beautiful, it was pricey though, a whooping $35,000. However, Tony didn't mind. She was well worth it. They'd wait til she returned and talk more about it with the sales clerk.

When Lillian heard of the price she shook her head. "Take us for idiots. Thats not the real price besides I doubt that's real gold.."

"Ma'am I ensure you-" Lillian took the ring she got a lens over the inside of the band. "Marking is.995...Sterling silver and you're passing it off as white gold?" It should be clear to Tony Lillian knew her metals, gems and knew how to look for them. Lillian handed the ring back as she placed her arm through Tony's arm but the owner of the store yelled out at them.

"Hold on, I do apologize I haven't taught her how to look for markings and she's going off by what I've told her. Here..." He pulled out a tray of white gold rings and Lillian looked them over.

"These...These aren't calling out to me." She admitted to the owner who put his finger up.

"I can get ahold of a different store who can send me the ring of your choosing." He sounded nervous as he was dealing with a "dangerous" woman. He pushed back from the computer as Lillian searched through it rather quickly. "You sure do know what you want." The owner, male ox, commented as she pulled up 3 diamonds in an engagement ring that was $6,000 but along with that two wedding bands. Both white gold but the grooms had black gold stripe in the middle of the ring's surface.

"Take a look love. I put up for three rings. The engagement ring and our wedding bands." Lillian told Tony as she went to looking at the necklaces and bracelets to give her something to do.

Tony looked it over. He was glad she knew what she was looking for, he never did when it came to this stuff. He smiled. "Okay babe, if that is what you want." He smiled. They got the paperwork for the rings and such while she looked at bracelets and necklaces with Sammy who had gotten down from his father's shoulders. "Mommy, can you read me a story tonight before bed?" He asked cutely giving her big cute eyes.

She looked at Sam seeing he craved motherly attention. "I'll read you a story tonight. If you're good perhaps daddy can take us to the game room where we can play all of the games." She smiled at him as she was a kid at heart when it came to things.

The arcades were always around for people of all ages. Smiling as she walked to Tony hearing the rings will be in before Friday. While Lillian held Sam's hand she walked out with Tony knowing they should get lunch soon as Sammy didn't get breakfast or she's assuming.

Sammy's eyes lit up when she suggested that. "Yay that'd be fun!" He smiled at her. Tony got the paperwork done then went over to his lover and son. He put his arms around her from behind and kissed her. "What are you two planning?" He smirked. Sammy smiled at Tony. "Papa, can we go to the game room after this?" He asked excitedly. Tony smiled and looked at Lillian. "It's up to mommy." He said softly.

Lillian rolled her eyes. "Sammy knows my answer since I suggested it to him. I hope later on we can talk you know to make things clear on roles." She said in a casual way as she walked with Tony since he knew where they'd be going even if Sammy fussed she looked to Tony to pull his son in when it came to lunch then they'd take off to the game room.

After lunch of Chinese food she followed Sam to the game room as she gave him five dollars to play on but she kept an eye on him. "Tony, what do you think my role will be when I take your name?"

He sat with her and kissed her cheek. "Mother of my children, my wife....." He said softly. He put his arm around her gently. "I suspect we'll raise our children together, discipline them when necessary....." He said smiling. He looked into her eyes. "What do you expect your role to be my love?" He asked curiously. He wanted her to be honest with him and he was honest with her. He had never had his marriage last very long the first time so he wanted to make sure they were both on the same page and comfortable with knowing what was expected of each of them.

"I don't know what my role will be that's why I'm asking you what you thought it should be. I mean when it comes to Sam I don't want you to throw him on to me and expect me to raise him while you go off onto something else. I want this to be an equal effort as in I don't want to be the bad guy in this family and he may hate me because you made me the bad guy. So I expect us to raise and discipline him or others together."

Tony nodded in agreement. "I agree my love. Equal partnership." He kissed her lips. "Don't worry." He said softly. "You'll be a great mother, you're already shown you're a wonderful wife....and our babies together are going to be so precious." He smiled. He kissed her lips and held her close. "Don't worry about anything my love, everything will workout just fine, I promise." He said softly. The jewelry store would call them in a few days letting them know that their order was ready for pick up. Of course Tony would pick up the rings, examine them, and then propose to her that night after a nice home cooked meal. Sammy came back over to his parents holding prizes. "Mama, papa! Look what I won!" He said happily holding up a new stuffed wolf and another stuffed fox.

"Awesome!" She said as she looked at his toys. "Now daddy needs to go and find himself a new phone. He drop his phone and it broke." She said as she made up a story for Tony as she got to her feet looking to her soon to be husband. Once they got what he needed done she looked at her new smart phone with a confused look on her face. She was use to the much simpler phones but now she had a hurdle, get along with a smart phone.

"This is going to be interesting." She commented as she put her new phone in her purse to find out her mother had left several voicemails. "Oh god..." She muttered softly shaking her head. "Perhaps a new phone was a blessing in disguise." She told Tony.
