@Yuna - I think my character here will be a bit different! I'm a sucker for LOTR... I couldn't resist once I saw how much effort was put into the background and the desire to keep this authentic! Of course I wound up choosing a culture that's not really in the books.. but it should be fun to just write in that world, even in a cold and remote corner of it!

I hope some of the elven/human ladies here have a fancy for Lossoth tribal men! We may be uncivilized, but that can be fun when rolling in the bed furs! ;P

@LadyYuna - Well I was thinking another human for my character, but a half-elf could certainly be possible. Half elves in LotR are kind of cool in that they have to decide which side of their lineage to adopt; to embrace the elven side and be immortal or to accept the gift of man, death. It's really a rather intriguing thing I think. The downside of course is that there are very few half elves in the world and even fewer human/elf pairings to create them.

Yay for swimming! I am well. It is definitely a fall day here. So I think staying inside and watching football and making chili is my game plan!

Yeah, well the docks had to be taken out at the cabin and I had become acclimated to the cold water by then. lol
