Makise laid in bed awake, listening to the sounds of thunder that cracked loudly, making her wince every time it sounded, she mumbled softly and got out of bed, slowly making her way to the kitchen and using the walls so she wouldn't trip, not wanting to wake Shizuo.
 
Makise got a glass of water and leaned against the sink as she drank, lightening lighting up the room and something outside the window caught her eye. It looked like a shadow shaped like a person. Makise gasped and spun, dropping the cup and causing it to shatter on the ground, covering her mouth with her hand as she moved away from the window, being sent into darkness again. She trembled and slowly suck to the ground, pressing herself to the refrigerator, eyes wide as she tried to make out anything in the darkness and see if the person was still outside the window.
