Daniel fliched when Ghost touched his arm, drawing away, suddenly looking back over at her. He had been staring outwards, towards the skies. His gaze was fully locked on her face, moving not an inch as she spoke to him. His lips were still moving of course, muttering along as he almost always did. His pistol was held tight in both hands again, the death grip he had on the weapon turning his knuckles even paler. As she walked off with her reassurances, he spoke out to her, "Hide away, hide away, no blinding The Eyes."
As soon as she went up the stairs, he curled back up again, keeping his watch out the blasted, wrecked wall. His gaze however was never towards the ground, but always toward the sky. He stayed up with Parker all through the shift. The man barely blinked, and everytime he did, his muttering got more agitated for half a second. This continued as the hours dragged onwards. He was twitching again, his finger over the trigger, never depressing it, but still twitching. There was a tick in his shoulder, causing his right arm to jimmy around almost every 3 minutes, on the minute. Just a hair off or you could set your watch to it.
"The Eyes..." he muttered again audibly, though he didn't seem to be talking to Parker, or anyone there. His pistol raised up, pointing out from his cover, towards the world outside. Just as he heard the CO's footfalls coming, ignoring him, talking to the other soldier here. Daniel seemed to nearly jump out of his skin, so badly did he startle when the first voice cut in. He whirled around, his back against what was left of the wall he was hiding behind, staring right over at Parker and Spaight. His trigger finger was twitching faster now, and his shoulder got worse, though it was still at the same intervals.
"The Eyes see us," he whispered aloud to Parker.
