A Dark Moon [Vampire07 & Eyesoffire]

Lillian looked over as she pulled the jars aside but when the water splashed onto him she managed to catch the hot jar in a towel. Sweating herself as she had to strip the shirt off to her sports bra. When he was on a break she looked over at him. "They weren't part of our pack...They were the rescues with pups now." She said with a soft smile as the women looked healthy.

"Joe, you know these part of the woods better than I do. Do you think we would have enough room anywhere to have some cattle? I know a spot for chickens and we can raise rabbits for a quick protein. I don't want to hunt this land bare."

"That's smart." Joe said, walking to the door and staring out at the woods. "There isn't a lot of clear land for a large enough herd of cattle, but we can chop down some of the trees to clear more and then use that wood to build a fence for the cattle as well as maybe a playground for the pups themselves." he turned to Lillian with a smile. "Chickens would probably do better near the tow, foxes are in these woods and the chickens will be in danger the moment we leave them alone. As for rabbits, well we could keep them near the town as well. The cattle are the biggest problem."

"Well, I don't want to hunt the prey bare then we will have an issue." She said as she grabbed her shirt walking up behind him. "I can get Tyson to make a chicken coop with a large fence with a roof so they are free range to a point. As for rabbits I'll have him do the same thing. We can wait for a herd of cattle thats why I was thinking two for milking purposes." She stood there looking at him as he seemed bit more inclinded to making things for the pups. "Joe, has something been on your mind lately?"

Joe was surprised to hear Lillian's words. He raised an eyebrow and looked to her, surprised to hear it all. "What do you mean, love?" he asked quietly, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I don't exactly understand where you're coming from..." He continued to stare at her before speaking again. "I mean there are a lot of things on my mind, the pack, you and me, food...what exactly are you referring to?"

"Well, I don't know if I'm imagining things or mishearing things. But I noticed you're becoming...Oh whats the word." She went silent trying to think of the right word. "Or trying to become involved with the pups. I find it sweet you want to build them a play ground but at the waterfall you were thinking of bringing Rosie up there or any future pups."

Joe looked down at the ground. "I'm just looking out for them, Lillian." he ensured her. "They are the weakest members of the pack and well...the alphas should pay attention to the future generations of their own pack, right?" He shrugged. "Hell, maybe I'm just looking for a way to find out how to be a damn good father when we..." He cut himself off and looked to Lillian.

Lillian took his hands as she stepped closer kissing him softly. "Joe, I have faith that you will be a wonderful father to anny pups we have together." She said as she nuzzled against his cheek. "I just wonder where your mind is at some of the time. Thats why I asked and you're right we should look out for the little ones and help provide a secure place where they can play and gian better skills." She said with her looking up at him. "Being a parent or becoming one...We're not given manuals. Hell, Rosie has some lungs on her and keeps Dana and Fiona up some of the time."

"Do you think we should take care of her for them then? Just to see what it's like to raise a child for a little while?" Joe asked, holding Lillian close. He really wanted to prove to his mate that he'd been a good father to her children. He knew Lillian had to continue her legacy, and so did he, but he wanted to make sure that together they would be good, strong parents.

Looking up at him as she searched his eyes. There seemed to be something within him that wanted to prove to her she was right on him being a wonderful parent. She knew she wasn't ready to be carrying a litter of pups and she doesn't know when she'd be ready nor did she know when he'd be ready. Cupping his cheek to keep him looking at her no matter the answer. "Lets see if we can arrange withthe girls that we become Rosie's babysitter when they want a night to themselves."

Joe kissed Lillian deeply, hugging her close as he passionately told her how much he loved her in a physical manner. He even lifted her up and spun her around.
When he lowered her to the ground and smiled and kissed her cheek. "I know you'll be a good mother..." he said calmly. "I'm assured in at least that."

With him lifting her up and spinning her around she was taken back by his out burst of joy she agreed to this. For her she wasn't to sure about it herself. Yes, she loved holding Rosie and slept with her back at the estate but Joe was wanting to experience fatheerhood through babysitting. "Joe before you go running off to gather the child up. We, need ground rules. If you're alone with Rosie you will not change or bathe her. Perhaps we can talk to the others and see if they would offer their son up so you can get some practice in on changing diapers."

Joe put Lillian down and frowned. "What does it matter if I change a boy or a-" Joe paused for a moment and looked at Lillian, he stared hard at her. "Lillian...do you think I'm gonna-I would never, EVER! I mean she's a child! Where the hell did you get an idea like that?! Do you think I'm sick or something?!" He turned away from her and walked out of the storage room, shaking his head, he couldn't believe that Lillian would think something like that.

He didn't even allow her to finish as her mother didn't allow her own father to change her. Watching him walk away from her she was mad of course he didn't allow her to finish. Instead of shouting at him she ran over grabbing his wrist yanking him to face her. "You don't walk away from me without me telling you my fucking reasoning." She was growling softly. "A child learns at a young age. If Rosie feels its okay for a male to see her naked she'll go around allowing ALL MEN to see her naked and allow them to touch her. I want to her to learn at a young age to be modest. Hell, my father didn't change me or bathe me. He respected my mother's wishes and left those tasks up to her." Finally she let go of his wrist.

"If you think my mind would jump to you fucking a child. I wouldn't have agreed to the whole babysiting idea in the first place." Her voice was stern and low so she would attract unwanted attention. "You're so damn quick to jump things." She said with her standing there allowing him to walk away this time.

Joe didn't walk away though, he stood there. "Well just make that clear in the beginning...you made it sound like I was some monster or something!" He admitted. "Jeez, you scared the shit out of me, Lillian..." He crossed his arms over his chest, of course at this point he wasn't mad, he knew Lillian's reasoning but he had to say, "Miscommunication is the easiest way to screw up a relationship. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions and got mad at you, just...in future...tell me to listen all the way through..."

Lillian was ready to claw at him thinking he was pointing the finger at her but she stood there listening. "I assumed you would listen to my reasoning as you've done in the past. Joe, I don't know what to say fo you thinking I would think you're a monster. Whatever got you to think that or feel that way...I don't know what it is or care. We agreed to stay in the present and think to the future." She said as she reached up running her fingers through his hair with a soft smile. "If I even thought you were THAT type of monster I wouldn't have agreed to this babysiting idea for us."

Joe sighed and nodded, she was right. He took her hand and pulled her close, hugging Lillian tightly and kissing her forehead before letting her go. "Maybe we should get back to the food, eh?" He said quietly.

Once thee canning was done Joe walked to Lillian, wiping his hands upon his pants, cleaning them off. "Did we not discuss a meal for the whole pack together at some point?" He asked Lillian, looking out the door, no one was there. "I mean, something where we can just enjoy ourselves and get rid of the worry for one night...didn't we talk about that?"

Lillian looked over at him as she was putting the cooled jars aside with him suggesting dinner and them to enjoy themselves. "Joe, where are you looking to?" She asked with her looking over her shoulder at him. Though she turned looking at him. "We discussed about a large dinner where everyone is enjoying themselves..." She said wondering if he was wanting something else to where the others were distracted and he was wanting her to himself. Smiling as she rubbed her head. "Listen to me. Thinking you had a secret desire." She looked up at him. "I can tell the others we planned on a massive picnic dinner after the chores are done."

"Maybe I have a secret desire." Joe said, looking to Lillian. "But I was only looking out because I thought we'd keep it a surprise and not let anyone else know about it." He pulled her close. "Would you rather me desire you?" He asked her quietly. "Don't tell anyone except Dana and Fiona. I think the two of us should set it up, as a gift to our pack. They've been through a lot too, especially the women. We should do the hunting and set the place up outside. Just me and you...perhaps, if Dana and Fiona want to help they can take care of the vegetables?"

Lillian smiled as he held her close but heard he had a secret desire. Thinking of how to get this dinner done she kissed his jaw with her wrapping her arms around him. "Alright....I can get those two together while we get things cooking. You can go hunt for the meat. I know you know where the big beasts are. Besides a large beast thinks like a big beast." Giggling softly as she kissed him refering to him being a beast in the bedroom and outside it. "Besides we may have some recipes to try out atleast. We may be gone tomorrow then for the shopping but you'll be in charge."

"Sounds fine to me." Joe said, smiling and understanding her joke. He kissed her cheek and he moved out of the building. "I'll be back tonight, and I'll keep the meat hidden from everyone else. I love you!" He called back and left.

Joe had been hunting for 15 minutes when he spotted a large buck grazing idly by. It's antlers were huge, and he knew that the buck would be a strong and fast one. Joe switched forms and broke from cover, chasing after it. He had been right, it was fast and strong and quickly began to out distance him. Joe kept up as best he could but he was losing ground. The buck moved faster and Joe began to feel that he'd lost it.
That was when the tables turned. The antlers got caught in the thick, low branches of a tree and the buck was caught. Joe wasted no time, he sunk his claws into the side of the elk and closed his jaws around it's neck, savouring the blood a moment before he tore out its throat and watched it die.

Dragging it back was easy, soon enough he'd found a place for it and moved back to find Lillian.

When he left her alone she went to find Fiona and Dana to discuss the surprise. The women nodded as they went to Lillian's house with Rosie. The three were discussing recipes and cooking when Joe appeared. Lillian hadn't mentioned about babysiting Rosie to gain experience of being a parent figure. Rosie was playing with her stuffed beat when Joe walked in.

Lillian looked over as the stove wass going with the windows wide open to let the heat out. "It'll be done tomorrow...Also I haven't asked them yet."

"Asked what?" Fiona looked over as she was cleaning the vegetables for salads and other side dishes.

Lillian looked to Joe. "Well..."

Joe came in carrying Rosie in his arms and smiling at her as he made baby noises to play along. He turned to see Lillian and Fiona.
"We want to know if we could watch Rosie for a bit, take her off your hands so you and Dana can have some time together." He said, rocking Rosie back and forth in his strong arms as he moved to sit at a table. "Would that be alright with you?"

Fiona and Dana looked at eachother but they didn't answer as they heard Lillian sigh. "He would like us to be Rosie's babysitters and get some experience and decide if he wants pups." She said as she pulled out a loaf of bread that had some herbs in it.

Dana smiled then looked to Joe. "Its fine with us. If you two became Rosie's babysitters." She said seeing Rosie was giggling and grabbing onto Joe's shirt. "I will warn you she-"

"They'll find out, Sweetie." Fiona said as she kissed Dana's temple. "You guys can watch her at our place."

"Thats nice of you but I think her coming here and staying a night or two would be nice." Lillian said as she placed two more loaves on the sounter top to cool down. She wanted Joe to get the full experience atleast.

"We can talk to Jess and see if she wants you two to watch her son. He's rather shy so him being with Rosie would be nice for him." Dana said seeing Lillian nodding in agreement.

"Sounds great!" Joe said, placing Rosie on the table and watching her wrap her small fingers around his pointer finger and tug on it. He smiled. "She's adorable." He said and looked to Lillian with soft eyes. Joe played with her for the rest of the evening, rolling a ball to her or making funny faces and playing peek-a-boo. Eventually the child got tired and started to yawn and close her eyes. Joe lifted her up and walked her to Dana and Fiona. "She's great, honestly I don't think I've ever been allowed to be that silly in my entire life. I must have sounded like an idiot making baby noises and stupid faces." He chuckled.

"Actually, yes you did." Dana got up and took Rosie from Joe and went to the bathroom to change Rosie. Fiona went to their home to grab a small crib with a small amount of supplies. Once Fiona arrived Lillian instructed her to put the things in the bedroom.

Lillian was nervous about the whole thing about have the child here, alone with Joe. Though she kept her mind on the tasks at hand while she was cooking up a new recipe of chili.
