Maybe because of how flustered and air-headed she was, she didn't notice he had averted his attention momentarily. Besides, she couldn't even see his face properly as he hugged her tightly, cheeks touching and unable to move and see his expression. However, when he finally moved his head away from hers, she did take notice of something. At first, she wasn't sure if it was only her imagination, but for a split of a second, she thought she had seen him looking somewhere else. Somewhere... behind her? Then again, maybe it was just her imagination. Though, she was sure she had no reason to suspect him of looking at other women. Well, maybe she did, given that he did have many other girlfriends before and he did look like one of those guys flirting around. Not to mention it wouldn't be such a strange thing to like another woman instead of his, well, sister. But, even so, she knew her brother better than that. And no matter how rotten he would ever become, she would never believe that he would actually play with her feelings... But why was she over thinking things again?
Chloe had returned to normal as he once again teased her, answering it with a sigh, not that she wouldn't have expected that kind of an answer. However, the brotherly kiss on her forehead was more than welcomed, suddenly feeling like a child again at the recall of her childhood and the times he would treat her like this. She always loved this part of him and how he would always show her a smile. Nowadays, it wasn't really 'all the time' that she would receive a smile, but that made her all the more grateful whenever he would actually give her one of those 'Trent-like' expressions. This is the way she liked to see him. To see her brother happy even after all he'd gone through because of their father.
His next comment, however, brought her back to her senses, shame washing over her as she finally realized what they just did and how easily she gave in to the circumstances. A blush crept to her cheeks once again. She couldn't even dare to look anywhere else, in fear of meeting some stares. "You sure love making things look worse, don't you?" she mumbled and pinched his cheeks in a funny way. "In that case... As soon as we bought the cake we're out. I don't feel like eating it in front of the people who just saw us... um... kissing. I'd rather eat it when we're back home." she suggested, figuring it would be too much to have people stare at her even when eating.
