Unbreakable Ties (Ookami & Sumi)

Trent’s eyes widened in surprise as his invitation was accepted willingly. He’d be lying if he said he hadn’t hoped for this, but his mind had refuted the possibility, thinking that Chloe would make some snappy remark and turn away from him, or at the very least refuse his prompt and pretend she hadn’t noticed. Hence he actually gasped when he felt her cuddling against him. His heart beating so fast that it was almost painful, he knew it didn’t mean Chloe was going to give herself to him, but it was certainly an step towards what he wanted, but more importantly it was a sign that Chloe wasn’t completely distrustful of him. Had he known that she’d act this cute the moment he put some clothes on he would have done it the moment he finished showering.

While the light had disappear a fair while ago outside, it was still quite too early for Trent to feel the effects of his day lulling him into sleep. Chloe on the other hand seemed exhausted, Trent had no idea how long she’d been wandering the streets and how she’d been managing, but it wouldn’t have been easy surviving out in the cold, and there was no way she could get a good nights sleep outside in this weather. Trent had tried it himself when he’d first left home, and he could recall even after all these years how he kept waking up to each and every sound around him. He’d been terrified that someone would find him and beat him up for his posessions, so needless to say, the paranoia had probably been worse for Chloe. Even if there wasn’t the worry of being attacked and robbed, the cold made it impossible to stay asleep for too long, and unless one rubbed their skin and curled up to keep warm, they’d drift off into a slumber that they wouldn’t be waking up from.

“Isn’t it a bit early for nap time?” he mocked, holding her against his chest, and caressing her back gently, loving the feel of her body up against his, he’d always been a bit bored cuddling with his ex, always eager to move on to the sex, but with Chloe he could stay like this forever. “Get some sleep, you’re safe now, I’ll look after you” he cooed, closing his own eyes and enjoying her scent and warmth, he could feel his affection for the girl building up inside him with each passing moment, and was slightly shocked to find it was more of a warm caring fondness instead of the heated lust he’d experienced earlier.

(Gaah... Just when I was about to submit post, I lost the internet connection! Have to wait a little bit more until I can post. I'm on my cellphone until then. uwu )

Well, it was only normal for him to be surprised, given how she easily gave in and moved closer to him without any complaints like previously. However, she was completely annoyed with the coldness at this point and the more warmth she could get, the better it would be for her. She just hoped she wouldn't end up sick, because she knew how bad it would be whenever she would get a cold. Fevers, shivers, coughs and all the package. The mere thought of being sick was something she feared, only because she would remember how lonely she would feel whenever she would get a cold in the past couple of years. With no one to take care of her and a father who would rather vent his anger on his daughter instead of looking after her, it was no wonder she rarely was ill. In fact, she always tried to avoid getting a cold or any other flu.

She groaned as he mocked her as if she was a kid, though she did like the feeling of his hand caressing her back. At his next words, however, her heart skipped a beat, not because she was afraid, but because she longed for those kind of reassuring words. If he wouldn't have repeated it so many times already, she would have definitely swore this was her brother, from the simple fact that at the moment, she could recall the times she was by her brother's side, cuddling just like now to his chest, feeling safe and warm, both on the outside and inside. This brought a slight smile to her lips, definitely glad to remember such memories. With these kind of thoughts in mind, she didn't take any longer to drift to sleep, exhausted after so many events, breath becoming slower and deeper.

((Sorry for the delay! Damned internet.))

Trent's eyes slowly opened as he felt the girl in his arms slowly relax, her breathing evening out and becoming soft as she felt asleep, he looked down at the cute little figure with adoration, making sure that she genuinely was asleep before carefully lowering his head and pecking her lightly on the lips. He knew he probably shouldn’t have done that, but it wasn’t a sexual kiss, just a brotherly goodnight, though even Trent had to admit that such kisses were usually done on the cheek or forehead. Nor was Chloe the age to be receiving such kisses from her brother, but no matter how many years had passed, she was still his Chloe, the shy quiet sister he’d fallen in love with so many years ago. “Goodnight Chloe” he whispered, finally calling her name, the doubt he’d held towards her identity had long dispersed, and unlike Trent who repeatedly denied her accusations, Trent knew now for certain that the girl beside him was Chloe, his sister.

Feeling the rise and fall of her body, and the peaceful look on her face as she slept, Trent too was slowly pulled into a blissful slumber. His body feeling awfully warm and fuzzy, it was the first time ever he’d felt so relaxed around someone, even the sexual frustration that niggled his mind seemed ignorable. His mind was slowly changing, when he’d pinned Chloe down he’d been certain his desire to be one with her outweighed any brotherly sentiments that remained scattered through his mind. But after seeing her like this, feeling her arms actually wrapped around him, he couldn’t bring himself to take advantage of her, at least, not now.

Letting out a happy sigh, he too eventually drifted off to sleep. His mind and heart looking forward to the possibilities that awaited tomorrow, his bleak pointless future suddenly seeming a lot more promising than it had when he’d woken up that morning. It was a pity he couldn’t find a better place for Chloe to stay, but home was what he made it, and the only thing he had to have in his home was someone he could love and care for to the best of his ability.

---------------------
Murmuring happily as he stirred, a hand went up to his red hair scratching it roughly as Trent awoke to a new day. His body feeling awfully relaxed and light, he was slightly confused as to why he felt so good today as he couldn’t immediately recall the events of the day prior, it was only when he felt a slight shuffle against his chest, and the sight of Chloe that his memories flooded back into consciousness. A quick look at the outside the window indicated it was well past the time he usually woke up, the sun already rising high in the air. He’d over slept, but he strangely didn’t mind. He had today off anyway, and even if he’d been asked to attend some high paying job, he would of faked a sicky to spend the day with his sister. It was a pity he’d already nearly wasted half the daylight hours on sleeping, but he couldn’t really complain. Smiling like an idiot as he brushed Chloe’s hair out of her eyes, “Morning Chloe” he whispered, not really expecting a response.

(No problem, I know all about shoddy internet, and it wasn't like I waited that long xD Honestly shouldn't be apologizing for taking an hour, normally I just give up when the computer eats my post, and try again the next day. Have no idea how you can deal with posting on a phone, I tried it once and it drove me mad xD)

((Oh, actually it didn't eat my post. Just before I was about to hit the 'post reply' button, I noticed there was no internet connection anymore. So, I kinda turned to my cellphone to get out at least a quick and short message. Just saved the post in my computer to post it later. XD I rarely have the patience to reply from my cellphone anyway.))

Chloe slept like a baby through the night, not even waking up once. Maybe it was because it was warm and comfortable enough, maybe it was because she was tired, or maybe because she felt safe, but either way, the brunette had no nightmares and nothing seemed to disturb her sleep. Hell, they could've yelled at her and she would not have woke up. She felt at peace, and for once, she didn't have to worry about having her father barge in and ruin her sleep with his drunken grumbles or worry about being robbed, raped or killed, sleeping outside.

-----------------------

It wasn't until she felt something moving beside her, or rather 'someone', that the petite sibling woke up, feeling quite fresh after a good night's sleep. If she had to be honest, she would have loved to sleep so well every single night. Nevertheless, it took her a moment to realize a different scent from her own room's and to realize that she wasn't back at her house. Then, she finally recalled the past two days and frowned slightly at all those events. Trent's movement and his whisper were momentarily ignored, taking her time to properly wake up to reality, opening her eyes and then rubbing them.

Then, something hit her. Well, not for real... but the realization hit her as she repeated his words in her mind. Shifting her hands away from her face, she slowly raised her head to look at the red head who smiled at her as if nothing was wrong. She was silent. Awfully silent as she tried to recall whether she ever told him her name or not. Her heart suddenly began thumping faster, as she wondered. Was it just her stupid brain forgetting things, or did he actually knew her name because of other circumstances? And if he was who she thought he was initially, what would she do? She wasn't sure what to do. Speak or shut up?

"Don't smile like an idiot at me. I didn't forget what you tried to do last night. And you better find a way to make up for your mistake." she scolded and pinched his cheek. This was probably the best way to handle things. It was probably better like this, to ignore what he said and pretend she didn't hear it, else it would ruin everything.

Trent watched patiently as Chloe opened her eyes, a look of confusion crossing her face as she looked around at the unfamiliar scenery and tried to make sense of everything, she had always been cute in his eyes, but her sleepy eyes and slightly messed up hair made her look adorable, he wanted to just grab her again and hug her close, but despite her reaction to his invitation last night he wasn’t foolish enough to think it had been a sign of complete submission.

Feeling her pinching his cheek, he raised an arm up and placed his hand over her hand, curling his fingers over her hand and gently pushing her hand off him, even when her fingers had left his face, he continue to hold onto her hand, the same idiotic grin on his face. “Don’t do this, you can’t do that, what are you? My wife?” he mocked, not really thinking his words through before speaking them, the response he got from Chloe however made him think over his words, and he realized just how embarrassing his words were under the current circumstances, his eyes shifting to the side and averting hers. He was used to sex, but things like love, marriage and raw affection weren’t things he’d gotten much of over the years, and the idea of having Chloe as his wife made him feel uncomfortable, while making him feel disappointed at the same time. Knowing that legally, they’d never be together.

“Right, you’ve got a point” he mumbled, a bit disheartened, his realization creeping out and wiping the smile of his face. It was a trivial matter, but a matter that obstructed him from being with Chloe, and while he wouldn’t let anyone take Chloe from him as long as he lived. The possibility that Chloe would one day find another man and live happily with him made him feel helpless. “If you’ve got any idea of how I can make it up to you let me know” he continued still sounding a bit depressed, “But in the meantime how about some breakfa…. Err lunch?” he asked glancing outside. He hadn’t taken much notice of it last night, but having skipped dinner, he was sort of starving, and Chloe probably had gone without food for longer. Furthermore, while he knew he shouldn’t be taking advantage of her situation, he couldn’t shake the excitement inside him when he realized how similar to a date their day would be if she accepted. He wasn’t planning anything fancy or expensive, but if the need called for it, he wouldn’t mind splurging a bit of cash on his sister, it was the least he could do after leaving her by herself all these years.

Needless to say that Chloe was taken aback at his mockery and even felt her cheeks warmer, actually imagining for a short moment what would it be like if she was married to him. The thought itself was pretty much foolish and embarrassing because they barely met a day ago. Or at least, that's what it looked like, because she felt like she knew him since long time ago. Then again, if he was to somehow reveal that he was her brother... she wasn't sure it would be any better. In fact, now as she thought about it, it would be wrong and probably disgusting if he was really her older brother. No one would approve of such forbidden relationship, even if... even if they somehow shared the same feelings. Inadvertently, at this thought, she let out an expression which suggested some sort of regret and disappointment, despite the fact that she wasn't completely sure who he really was, if he was lying or not.

Soon, though, she noticed the same kind of feeling expressed on his face as he spoke again. Now, she kind of regretted for bringing up the previous night's attempt of rape, seeing that he probably felt sorry for it. Or at least, that's what she thought, because she had no idea what was really going on in his head. Once he mentioned lunch, she found, thankfully, a way to get rid of the awkward atmosphere around them. Maybe this would be a good way to forget about the yesterday's incidents and just start anew. Besides, she really was hungry now that he mentioned it. She was actually amazed she had managed to stay 'alive' without food for such a long period.

Sitting up, slightly shivering at the difference of temperature between the room's and the bed's warmth, she rubbed her chin thoughtfully before coming up with a couple of ideas. "Theeen, you can make it up with lunch, dessert and maybe... some clothes? I only have a change of clothes and some sleepwear... And, I don't think I'll visit my house for a good while at least. But, that's only if you can afford it. I don't want to spend all your money, when it's you who worked for it." she suggested and then wrapped the blanket around her body again, to keep herself warm. "Speaking of which... what do you work as? That is, if you don't mind me asking."

There’s been a time when Trent himself had worried about the complications over wanting his sister, but as time passed, he couldn’t shake the desire out of him, and part of him had even been slightly relieved when his father had kicked him out. Had he continued to live in that house with a deranged father, there was no telling when Trent himself would have snapped and forced himself onto his sister like he’d done last night. He’d been able to stop himself due to maturity and experience, but if he’d still been a teen….. he’d probably have done something unforgiveable and have bought Chloe’s hatred for as long as he lived. Leaving was supposed to have made him forget, but despite his hopes, things had only gotten worse to the point he began looking for substitutes, if they had even a single feature that reminded him of his sister, he’d have slept with them without hesitation, but as a week or two passed the women would realize that he wasn’t after them personally, and none of them wanted to be ‘used.’

Chloe continued to surprise him by making a few suggestions, he hadn’t actually expected her to forgive him with something as simple as a free meal and a few clothes. At first he was worried she’d make some unreasonable demands like eating at a 5 star restaurant, and having him buy her the latest fashion dresses, but that too was swept aside with her comment about not wanting to spend all his money. He wasn’t filthy rich or anything, but he wasn’t as poor as he might have appeared. Certainly, after seeing the state of his room one might have questioned if he could even afford to purchase his own lunch, but Trent simply wasn’t a big spender, what was left after his rent and grocery bills usually went straight to his bank account, technically he could give Chloe the time of her life for a month or two if he wanted, but doing so would mean he’d have to give up on moving out of his current apartment.

“What do you think I work as?” he responded, smirking as he got out of bed, walking over to the basin and washing his face quickly before looking at Chloe. Personally he wanted to take a quick shower before going anywhere, but the memory of being scolded for indecently showing off his body last night remained fresh in his mind, and he wasn’t sure if Chloe was a morning shower person, or someone who was simply fine with a quick clean-up infront of the bathroom mirror. “I mainly work for a modeling firm, posing for magazines and advertisements, actually getting pretty popular as of late, but I guess I’m not popular enough yet if highschoolers don’t recognize me.” He joked. It wasn’t like he was a famous musician or actor, so it was not surprising that Chloe didn’t know about him. “Anything from the latest fashion, to undergarments, right down to lewd magazines directed at lonely housewi…..Mmm nevermind” he stopped abruptly, not wanting to bring that topic up again. It probably wasn’t the best image to project anyway.

Not wanting to waste much more time, he made his way towards the showers, looking over at Chloe playfully, before placing his hands over his jeans. “Might want to turn away, that’s the only warning I’ll give you” he stated, giving her a few seconds before stripping himself naked and walking back into the shower area, the sound of water rushing out of the showerhead filling the room.

Chloe shrugged as she had to take a guess about his job, getting out of bed as well, shortly after he did. Once he finally told her what he worked as, her expression brightened as if she suddenly discovered something important. "Ah! I knew I saw you before! But I wasn't sure where. The girls in my class were gawking some weeks ago over some magazine in which you made your appearance. As for your remark, I was never into reading magazines. Mostly because I prefer spending my pocket money on something more useful." she said in return, and raised an eyebrow at the thought of what he said after that. "Lewd magazines, huh? No wonder you're a pervert." she commented with a snicker and shook her head. Well, it wasn't so hard to imagine him as a popular model. He did have the looks, and certainly, even the somewhat tomboy brunette had noticed he was sort of handsome from the first time they actually spoke to each other. He was tall, he had piercing blue eyes, he had one hell of a body, and over all good looks. She was sure her classmates would die to hear she was living with such a person, or rather 'hottie'.

Noticing he suddenly gave her a playful look and placed his hands over his jeans, Chloe turned unintentionally red, quickly turning around at his warning. And seeing how he was busy with showering, she went to look for some clothes in her bags, figuring she would not need yet another shower since she had taken a bath the other night. Maybe just brush her teeth, wash her face, and do her usual morning routine. Thus, once she took out her long black stocking which came above her knees, a dark blue dress along with a white cardigan, she changed her clothes, waiting after that for him to be done so she could use the 'bathroom' as well.

Trent had never been one to take his time showering, and within a minute or two the tap was turned off, and after a few more seconds of rustling about, he reappeared wearing the same jeans and boxers he had on last night, he hadn’t really needed a shower, but it was just a more refreshing way to start the morning. His red hair was damp and clinging to his face, and a few stray beads of water trickled down his masculine body. The towel hanging over his neck and covering his chest. Hearing that Chloe had at least seen him made him a bit happy, but the comment about spending her money on something more useful stung a bit. It wasn’t her fault seeing as she didn’t know, and still didn’t know for sure that they were related, furthermore Trent probably would have been a bit annoyed had Chloe joined in on any of the gawking as there were undoubtedly a fair few other guys in the magazine. “You know, I have to admit that I’m glad I’ve got fans, but having you gawk at me would have been much more flattering” he smirked, noting how she was avoiding looking at him again. He knew it was more out of embarrassment than disgust, but the way she kept turning away was sort of hurtful, though he supposed he couldn’t blame her.

Seeing the long black stockings up her legs, he had to bite his lips to prevent himself from licking them. Chloe wasn’t a supermodel or anything but she had nice long legs, and the stockings only made them seem that much more sexy. Though saying that would probably make her uncomfortable, and after realizing he’d probably stared for a bit too long, he averted his gaze and went off to pick a shirt. “Showers open, you didn’t have to wait though, I wouldn’t have complained if you joined me” he teased, going into the closet for what seemed like the hundredth time and shuffling through a few boxes he hadn’t opened in a while. Appearing a moment later with a bright blue silken scarf that matched his eyes. It had been a gift from one of the fashion brands he usually posed for, the director had approached him after the shoot winking at him and handing him the scarf, saying he should give it to one of his lady friends. He’d actually forgotten about it until a few seconds ago when he’d chanced upon it. But once he had, he shyly imagined how Chloe would look wearing it. Like Trent, her eyes matched the scarf perfectly, and unless Chloe had some warm clothes she hadn’t been wearing yesterday, it would be better than nothing.

Once he was done with the shower and showed up again, the brunette turned her head to look at the red head. Unknowingly, her eyes were stuck on him for a little bit more than a minute, barely refraining from actually gawking like the girls in her class at the sight of a good looking male. If the previous night she was too tired or ignorant to notice it, now, she was mesmerized by his figure, figuring he really deserved to be a model with such looks like his. Thus it took her a little to avert her eyes when he suddenly spoke. After all, how could she not be even a tiny bit 'moved' by a handsome guy like Trent, with a look that suggested he just got out from the shower, with his red fiery hair somewhat damp and clinging to his face and neck, and his toned bare chest on which droplets rolled down in a sensual way? Even the Chloe who wasn't really ever interested in boys that much, was bound to be at the very least somewhat attracted to him. As soon as he started speaking, she woke up to reality in an abrupt way, her cheeks and ears getting visibly redder as she realized what she was doing, eyes averting from his body to his eyes, looking pretty taken aback.

Amusingly enough, it took her another minute to actually repeat his words in her mind and understand what he just said. "Oh. Um. Yeah." she mumbled, even though it actually didn't make sense. This was probably the first time she wasn't arguing or saying something mean in return to his joke. When she looked up at him again, Chloe noticed he had averted his gaze and walked away. Once he announced she could use the so called bathroom, she rolled her eyes at his side comment intended to tease her. "What, you want to save water or something?" she inquired with the same jokingly tone. Taking her toothpaste and toothbrush, along with her hairbrush, she hurried with her morning routine and only noticed the scarf in his hands once she was dressed up, pretty and ready to go. For a moment she wondered what was he planning to do with it, before she pointed out something else. "You won't go out half-naked, right? I mean, I know you probably want to get as many fangirls as possible, but you probably don't want them to get some nosebleeds." she joked with a slight smirk, crossing her arms against her chest.

Trent was a bit worried at how her attitude towards him had changed overnight. Not knowing about how her fatigue had affected her opinion of him, or at least his body, he mistook her gawking for a stare of distrust, and the redness of her face for something besides blushing. The moment she came out of the bathroom he immediately walked up to her, ignoring her comment about water and even about being half naked, placing the light blue scarf over her shoulder and around her neck lightly before crouching before her. His eyes filled with concerned worry. “Are you okay? If you’re not feeling well I can go buy you something to eat myself?” he offered, mistaking her flushed face as the telltale sign of a cold. He didn’t even give her a chance to correct him before he cupped either side of her face by the cheek, leaning in and placing his head against her forehead. His blue eyes disappearing behind his eyelids as he stood motionless for a second. His nose nearly touching hers, and his lips only an inch or so away from hers. He could feel her breathe on his lips, as she could his. But unlike last night he didn’t seem the least bit aroused by the fact.

“I’ll put something on soon enough, take care of yourself before you worry about me and my fangirls” he stated a bit crossly, pulling his head away and leading Chloe back over towards the bed. “And I’ll say this as many times as I need to, but I’m not interested in fangirls, I do appreciate their support, but their worth nothing to me in comparison to you.” He hadn’t meant it sexually or even emotionally when he spoke, but his words could be easily mistaken, what he’d meant was that he wanted to prioritize Chloe’s health over going out to get more fans, but unless Chloe was some sort of mind reader that probably wasn’t how it sounded to her.

Figuring that her comment was reflective of how his partial nudity made her uncomfortable, he gave her one last look before going to get dressed, still a bit reluctant to go out at all considering Chloe’s condition. He wanted to order Chloe to stay in bed, but he knew she wouldn’t listen, and more than anything else, he himself would have been disappointed if their little date had been cancelled. Quickly pulling out a white singlet, black turtleneck sweater and a dark navy blue coat. He swiftly did the buttons up before zipping up the side, jumping out of the closet and back to Chloe’s side as if the few seconds of him being absent would have changed anything. He was panicking, his mind more confused than he had been in years, with a clear mind he probably would have offered her some medicine, and told her to sleep the rest of the day through, but instead he just looked a bit flustered. His eyes reflecting guilt and concern, his mind was swimming with ‘what if’s’. Thinking that this wouldn’t have happened had he told Chloe to wait for him at the agency, and not made her scamper off and sit outside in the cold.

Chloe was taken aback at the sudden change of mood of Trent's, noticing the worried expression on his face. She was clueless as to why he was making that face, and she was about to inquire him, when he suddenly questioned if she was alright, a bright blue scarf around her neck now. The brunette, of course, raised an eyebrow in return, wondering why was he saying that. But, again, she didn't have the time to speak, because the next moment she was busy with keeping her temperature in check as he cupped her cheeks and moved so close to her face. For a couple of seconds, she actually thought he was going to kiss her, yet he probably wasn't even thinking of that as she looked in his eyes, once again, blushing to no end, feeling her cheeks burn and her ears the same. She was speechless, and if it wasn't for her brains, she would have thought he was teasing her just like that. It was only sudden change of attitude that made her believe he wasn't joking around at the very moment.

Still, she didn't want to stay behind in the 'cave' by herself. For some unknown reason, Chloe wanted to go out with him. Besides, it was only him who was worrying about her not feeling well. She would have explained the situation, but she figured it would be hard to tell him she was that red because of him and not because she was sick. On the other hand, it was nice of him to be this worried for her and say such... sweet things, if she could call them that. Because of that thought alone, she didn't protest as he led her back towards the bed, as if she was in a world of her own. And in fact, she really was in a world of her own.

She had recalled the time she had fallen sick while Trent was still living in the same house with her and their father. While the parent wasn't even that worried about her, the older sibling was surely concerned about her health. The worried face of the red head resembled her older brother's expression perfectly. Once he dressed up in a flash and returned to her side, she couldn't keep in the laugh anymore. As weird as it might have been, he was sort of cute, being so careful about her well-being, having a somewhat frustrated expression on his face as if he wasn't sure what to do first. "I'm alright, silly. Don't just assume things by yourself. I've become pretty much immune to colds in the last couple of years." she pointed out and raised on her tiptoes to ruffle his hair, reassuringly. "Besides, the reason I seemed to have a fever wasn't related to that... it was more like... well, it's better if you don't know it, because it's embarrassing." she mumbled in a lower voice the last part and then smiled up at him, innocently. "Either way, thank you for the scarf. It's really pretty." she thanked him.

((It would be actually funny if he was the one who to catch a cold in fact. XD Ironically.))

It was worrying how cooperative Chloe was being, and her actions only seemed to reinforce the possibility that she was unwell. While his sister had never been physically weak, there’d been an occasion once ages ago when they were children when Chloe had fallen severely ill. Not because the illness was dire or anything, but because their father had neglected to take care of her and let the sickness fester before Chloe had to be taken to the doctors. He could remember her flushed face, labored breathing and pained expression even now, she’d been barely conscious to boot, and at the time Trent had been convinced that his sister would die. His father had told him to leave her be, but Trent hadn’t listened, wrapping his sister in a thick layer of blankets before carrying her out of the house and to the local clinic, the lady at the reception of the clinic had been startled by their arrival, and after much begging and crying from Trent, had Chloe looked at by a doctor, only to find it was pneumonia.

Needless to say, his father had been pissed when Trent returned home, one of the clinic’s staff by his side carrying Chloe as Trent had been far too young then. The man that had come with them promptly left after tucking Chloe away and lecturing their father. But Trent had been beaten severely for his action. Accused of not only costing them undue money, but also for humiliating him. It hadn’t been the first time he’d been beaten, but Trent had stood his ground then, yelling at his father and being rebellious, his body ached for several days afterwards. But the bruises were a convenient excuse for him to skip school and stay by Chloe’s side.

Lost in thought, he hadn’t even realized Chloe standing before him, his body flinching with surprise as Chloe’s soft hand ran through his fiery hair, His blue eyes widening at the sight and feel of having Chloe so close to him. It was sort of demeaning to have his hair ruffled by his own sister, but strangely enough he found he didn’t mind. On the contrary the fact that Chloe had approached him, and not the other way around sort of made a slight tinge of red appear on his face. Is breath catching in his throat as he wrapped his arms around her shoulders hugging her out of nowhere. His own embarrassment leading him to realize why her face had been so heated, he couldn’t help but feel relieved, “I don’t care if you’re immune or immortal, if you start feeling unwell you’ll let me know, okay?” he whispered at her strictly. After a few seconds he wondered if Chloe would complain about him invading her personal space again, but seeing as how they’d fallen asleep last night stuck together, and he was fully clothed now, he hoped she wouldn’t mind. Feeling a bit daring he even risked a light kiss on her forehead before pulling away slightly, his arms still around her, but not forcing her against him anymore. “If you’re okay, I guess we can go, anything specific you want to eat?” he asked, running a list of classy restaurants through his mind. Normally he wouldn’t splurge money on something as simple as lunch, but it was their first meal together in years, and more importantly, it was the first time he’d be taking his sister out.

(lol, it’s definitely there as a possibility, if it does happen though, it’ll probably be for the third day)

((As you wish~! Also, I was thinking, what if she realized he is her brother, but in the end she pretends she doesn't know that fact just because she doesn't want to make things awkward or because she fears he would put a distance between themselves if she knew about his real identity? Or should we go with the classy 'she develops some stronger feelings for him and all of sudden she finds out he is her brother'? XD))

Chloe seemed a tiny bit surprised as he suddenly wrapped his arms around her, hugging her, thus, being able to feel the warmth of his cheeks as he got so close. Was it just her imagination, or was he actually blushing? For some reason that caused the same effect to her, getting the same safe and warm feeling as she got the previous night when he kept her close to him and slept like that through the night. Fearing that her voice would come out in a weird tone now, the brunette just nodded instead at his question, obviously happy to know that someone cared so much about her, even if there was a possibility he was lying. Unlike previously, Chloe didn't seem to mind the closeness and even refrained from complaining as he kissed her forehead, probably too happy to let out some mean words again. Or maybe, somewhere in the back of her mind, she realized she didn't dislike his shows of affection as much as she wanted to show it.

Once he pulled away slightly, she raised her head just enough to look at him, unable to hide the tint of red coloring her cheeks. Suddenly, Chloe was kind of excited, almost wondering if this was how the girls of her age would feel whenever they would go out with a guy. Then again, she couldn't just compare their going out with a date... or could she? On a second thought, this did seem like a date in fact. She now wondered if he would think she's hilarious for thinking such things, and decided that she would keep her imagination to herself. Leaving those thoughts aside, she quickly thought of what she wanted to eat. Seeing how she could ask for mostly anything, she took another minute to think of what exactly she preferred. This kind of thing happened very rarely, so, needless to say she was happy at the prospect of choosing what type of food she fancied. "... Spaghetti." she finally concluded, before pondering on whether her choice was weird or not.

Being prepared to be shoved away, or at least for Chloe to make some snide hurtful remark, he was pleasantly surprised when her only reaction was another light blush. Her lack of complaints making him wonder what had changed overnight. He liked the new Chloe better, though that said, if it was Chloe he honestly wouldn’t have minded even if she was a complete bitch that strutted around thinking she owned the world. Though then again, that really wouldn’t feel much like the Chloe he knew, so maybe not. What excited him the most was that Chloe hadn’t complained about the kiss. The memory of her accidentally biting down on his tongue was fresh in his mind, and he’d decided to brush his lips against her face which weren’t so dangerous, but the way she accepted his kiss just then had him hoping that she’d open up to him soon. It felt nice, but it was incomparable to a proper kiss. And eventually he wanted to have….. nevermind. Chloe seemed to be in a relatively good mood at the moment and doing something sexual to upset her would only serve to lower his chances and make her uncomfortable.

“Spaghetti?” he asked mildly amused at her selection. He hadn’t expected her to be unreasonable with her selection but he’d been prepared for something more expensive and flashy. Though he was sort of glad she hadn’t chosen something like burgers and fries as that wasn’t suitable for their first meal together at all. Maybe tomorrow, or hereon after, but not today. “Spaghetti works just fine, actually know of a great Italian restaurant nearby, store looks a bit shabby but the head chefs skills are impeccable…… just hope he hasn’t gone bankrupt yet” he joked, the restaurant he had in mind was a small store, located a fair bit away from the main street, the kitchen was no bigger than a household kitchen, and there were only three or four tables within the store.

Having next to no cooking skills, Trent had eaten around for most of his life after being kicked out, and nothing could compare to the spaghetti and lasagna there. He was pretty sure the owner of the store had said something about adding pizza to his repertoire a few months ago, so maybe that’d be worth trying as well.

Grabbing the keys from where they had been left last night and shoving them in his pocket. He smiled warmly before offering his hand suggestively towards Chloe. “It’s just a hand, we…. Umm kids do it all the time, no need to be embarrassed” he stated, looking a bit nervous himself, though whether it was fear of being rejected or excitement at the prospect couldn’t be determined.

(I’m fine either way, not sure if I said this initially but I’m horrible at sticking to plots, and love being surprised. I don’t mind bouncing ideas off eachother, but if there’s something you think that would work well, you’re more than welcome to give it a shot. I can easily adapt. Personally though, I sort of like the suggestion of her being aware but pretending to not realize. Think it’s a great idea.)

((I'll keep that in mind, then. :3 Just wanted to ask in case you liked any of the scenarios better.))

Of course Chloe was somewhat embarrassed as he repeated her choice, most probably because he was amused. Still, it was the first time she was eating out, so, he couldn't really blame her. Unless he had no idea about that fact. Thankfully, he didn't seem to be opposed to the idea and was glad to know that he even knew where to go to eat spaghetti, since she would not be able to pick a place where to go. Nevertheless, she chuckled at his description of the store he knew. "You do have a thing for shabby places from the looks of it." she remarked, though, she didn't mean it in a bad way. Besides, if it was her she wouldn't have been able to even pay for a place like Trent's, unless she would find a mine of gold miraculously.

He seemed to be in a good mood, and unlike the cold eyes he showed her the previous night when he threatened to rape her, the red head right now was a completely different person. In fact, she couldn't even recognize him. Not that she wasn't the same. She too, seemed to be a in a better mood, probably because she had a good rest. And maybe, just because he didn't seem to be such a 'bad' guy as she initially thought. She just hoped he would not ruin this impression very soon, once again.

The sudden hand he offered, had Chloe taken aback. It was sort of stupid to be nervous about it, especially because they did the same thing yesterday too, when he wanted to make sure she would not get lost or run. Now, however, it seemed totally different, mostly because there were so many things which happened until then. And maybe because the Trent right now was giving her no logical reason for which they would have to hold hands. Leaving it to her imagination to discover why he insisted on this. And being pretty sharp, she did figure it out that this had a somewhat special meaning. Or maybe it was just her wild imagination again. Either way, she did take a hold of his hand, averting her eyes from his as another blush pestered her. His words didn't even help. "Well, that's true... only... we're not kids." she mumbled in a lower voice as if to not be heard.

His opinion of her changed attitude was swiftly overturned as she dared to make a quick little jab at his apartment again. But knowing it wasn’t supposed to be insulting he just rolled his eyes slightly, secretly relieved to find that she was still the same Chloe he’d found last night. Part of him had still not been convinced that Chloe was well, but if she had enough energy to make comments like that, she was surely fine? “Don’t worry, I make up for my lack of taste in housing with a good taste in women” he winked jokingly, gently squeezing the hand she’d placed in his own. Her hand was much smaller and softer than his. He hadn’t noticed it yesterday, perhaps due to the dreary weather that seemed to put everyone’s spirits down, but he couldn’t help but notice how pleasant and warm her hand felt, how perfect it fit into his own. The connection stirred a few memories within his mind, but he didn’t have time to reminisce in the past right now. Chloe was finally by his side and the days of remembering and fantasizing were over. It was time for action.

Grabbing his discarded trenchcoat from yesterday on the way out, he pulled out his wallet and stuffed it into the coat pocket of the coat his was currently wearing, tossing the unworn coat casually against the basin table before leading Chloe outside, keeping his hand as close to his own body so that Chloe would be naturally inclined to walk closer to him. Despite being nearly midday the temperature managed to remain relatively chilly. Nothing compared to the harsh coldness of the night, but still a bit too chilly to call a comfortable climate.

Hearing her little mumbled statement he considered ignoring it, but wanted to validate them holding hands again in future. While he wasn’t sure he’d be able to let go if Chloe asked him, he certainly didn’t want to be holding her hand against her will even if she had voluntarily taken it. “We’re not kids anymore, but when you grow up, become an adult, we’re supposed to have more options and freedoms not less” he stated sagely, thinking his words carefully as he casually led her down the stairs, it was certainly easier going down them then climbing up. “Only catch is that we’re burdened with more responsibilities…. And I’m certainly willing to take responsibility over you” he grinned childishly, much like the expression he’d often direct Chloe’s way when they used to play together as children. He hadn’t worn that expression since leaving home, but being with Chloe stirred up reactions and thoughts Trent had thought long lost. “Thanks for taking my hand” he said affectionately, shooting her another warm smile before continuing to lead her down the street.

Chloe shook her head with a slight smile at his flirty joke, but noticed he somewhat squeezed her hand, just enough to make her feel more conscious of the fact that they were holding hands. That alone made the brunette a tiny bit flustered. Somehow, his hand, bigger than hers and just as warm as hers reminded her of her childhood she spent with the little Trent she used to play with. In fact, even at the very moment, she felt the same protective feeling as in the past. Even if the memories weren't so fresh, she could remember little things like this very clearly. And there was no doubt the red head resembled her older brother a whole lot, even if the appearance would prove her wrong.

Despite her usual naivety, she was quick to notice he was making it so she would have to walk close to him, something which made her fidgety. If he was planning to make her aware of his feelings, it definitely worked, because she could see how gentle and nice he was now, and she would have lied if she said she disliked it. She was flattered and at the same time, she awkwardly felt very happy and thankful she had met him, if it meant that he would treat her so nicely and somewhat lovingly all the time.

The brunette bit her lip as he heard what she said and commented about it. She honestly hoped he didn't hear it. However, his way of explaining things and the last part made Chloe's heart beat a tiny bit faster, while she rolled her eyes to hide the fact that she was actually happy to hear such a thing. Once her eyes spotted his smile, however, she was shocked to suddenly recall something from the past, something which seemed so much more vivid in her mind than the other memories. His grin, the expression he showed, was the exact face she saw so many times in the past. There was no doubt left. There were too many 'coincidental' things. The name, the eyes, the feelings he had for her, the fact that he knew her name though she never told him, even the same expressions... it was him. It had to be him.

She couldn't hear the thanks. She somehow knew he was her brother, but she never was so sure as now. Thus, it didn't come as a big surprise, but rather, it was something else which bothered her mind. She was more confused as to what was really in his mind. He kept lying he wasn't her brother, but... why? The pair of blue eyes shifted to look up at him, softly and barely squeezing his hand. Did he not want to recognize her as his sister anymore because he was ashamed? Was it the guilt for leaving her behind with her father? Or was it... the feelings he claimed he had for her? Either way, she didn't want to be separated from him again. Not know, when she surely knew who he was. Thus, she had decided. She wasn't going to tell him anything. She would keep the secret buried in her heart. Even... if it would somehow make it hurtful later on.

"My name is Chloe... I just realized you never asked for my name." she suddenly spoke, just to make things easier. "If... if you're going to take responsibility over me... than you better not forget your word." she added, referring to what he said previously, looking ahead as to leave aside the awkwardness of her voice.

Not knowing the thoughts running through her head, Trent had no idea that Chloe had just recognized him for who he was. As far as he was concerned he’d denied the fact continually, and his…. Less than applaudable advances on her last night had elicited the confirmation that Chloe had acknowledged the lie. Seeing her staring back at him though he couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous, and in hopes of shaking the feeling he averted his eyes. Sensing subconsciously that she was once again analyzing his features and comparing him to something buried within her mind. Not wanting her to continue what she was doing, he reluctantly opened his mouth hoping a change of topic would dispel the suspicions. ”Sorry, guess that came off a bit corny, but I did mean what I said” he reiterated, looking at her once more with determination to prove that he wasn’t lying.

She responded with her name. Her announcement causing a brief flutter of panic to stir within his mind, he probably should have asked for that sooner. Of course Trent had been aware of her name the moment she’d mentioned the possibility of him being her brother, perhaps even earlier. So he’d never felt the need to inquire, though not asking her had probably seemed strange…. That said, the fact that she felt the need to introduce herself proved in his mind that he was simply overthinking things. If she suspected him of being her brother, then there would have been no need for her to tell him her name. The panic subsiding, he nodded his head in response the latter half of her comment. Not entirely sure what she was referring to, but immediately being reminded of several comments he’d have to take responsibility for, as well as his promise not to sexually force himself on her again. The promise had been a foolish move in his mind, but a necessary one to gain her trust. And until Chloe accepted him as something more than a stranger that reminded her of her brother, he’d have to restrain himself. A feat he was determined to uphold, but also something he wasn’t entirely confident he’d be able to keep. Either way, his condition was that she permit him kisses, and he supposed he could survive on those for awhile, if he coupled them with the euphoria of having his sister finally by his side again.

The restaurant Trent had mentioned really was nearby, after about a five minute walk they arrived at a shabby looking store. Located in a dingy alley, it would have been impossible to find unless one specifically searched for it, and the front of the store was less than appealing. The show windows were not only tinted, but also fitted with long steel bars that gave off a prison like feel. If it hadn’t been for the delicious aroma that wafted out of the store Chloe probably wouldn’t have thought it to be a gunshop or something. Though, then again, what sort of gunshop would have a cheesy name like ‘Amore’? Even for an Italian restaurant it was rolleye-worthy. “Trust me, it might not look like much but it’s definitely worth it” he assured her pulling her gently towards him so that her shoulders rubbed into him. Trent casually pushed the door open, the jingle of bells alerting the occupants of the store to their presence.

The interior was a fair bit more decent then outside, the interior was completely wooden. The flooring freshly polished and nearly reflecting what stood on them, several paintings lined the all, as well as a few trinkets. As Trent had said earlier there were only three tables, each with a pair of wooden seats with curved armrests. The tables decorated with a small handkerchief sized mat in the middle colored in the colors of the Italian flag. Ontop of it lay salt, pepper, the store menu, and a small vase that accommodated a few stems of lavender flowers. Trent only smirked at the sight, shaking his head slightly at the sight of the flowers and guiding Chloe to the farmost table, pulling the chair out for her as whoever ran the store was nowhere to be seen.

Chloe was somehow worried as he suddenly seemed a little nervous, just as she told him her name. Now, it was her turn to be worried that he would find out she knew the truth. And heavens forbid, she didn't want to ruin everything so soon. Despite the fact that her brother was obviously lying and he wasn't the same innocent Trent she knew, the brunette didn't want to leave his side, knowing he was the only one she could trust, the only one who would probably put his life in danger for her if needed. Maybe his feelings did change in time to something which wasn't the same 'brotherly' love. Now, as she thought the things over and the things he had confessed the previous night, she was troubled and weirdly enough, happy, at the same time. Then, she figured he might have been planning to force himself on her only because of the recent break up with his girlfriend. Maybe, he simply needed someone to get over it and found her more conveniently to use. It was kind of disappointing if she had to think it like that, but at least... at least it was her to be there for him, instead of someone else. Then again, she frowned at herself for having such thoughts, almost as if she was jealous of other girls.

Either way, it was probably safe to think that he was acting like that just because he was sexually frustrated, as funny as that sounded. Though, she couldn't understand how could a handsome guy like Trent be sexually frustrated when he had so many women to choose from. In fact, it was weird enough that he didn't think of finding another woman. Sure, she was a much more convenient choice, but she wasn't that much pretty. Hell, he could find a model if he wanted, given his job. Yet, here he was, trying to flirt with his younger sister. Chloe was seriously considering this as 'something being wrong with his head' or simply too much laziness to look out for a 'sexy chick'.

Her thoughts disrupted by the sight of the so called restaurant, she glanced over at Trent as if questioning his choice of a place to eat. Especially because the shop had one of the cheesiest names she ever heard. Once he had assured her it was worth it, she simply shrugged and decided to just trust him, before she felt her shoulder bumping into him as he pulled her towards him. She mentally swore he was doing it on purpose as if he was actually looking forward to see her flustered even a tiny bit.

Thankfully, the interior was much more pleasing to the eye, unlike the outside. All in all, it was clean, small and perfect to avoid the crowd and the noisy people. In fact, it was the best choice for a place to go to eat to, where her father would never search for her. Thus, she could leave her worries aside for now. She was somehow amused at the Italian theme, making the restaurant look like one of those cliche places out of those romantic movies. Once she was seated with the help of the red head, she glanced around curiously. "Let me guess. This is the place where you usually brought your girlfriends for a romantic meal?" she teased.

Trent had only just gotten himself seated when Chloe tried to rile him up again with her thorn prickled humor, at first he seemed to brush it off as Chloe being Chloe, but a moment later his brow furrowed and his lips shifted into a frown. “On second thought we should-“ he started getting out of his seat only to be interrupted by a shrill bubbly voice that pierced the entire store with jovial irritation.

“Trent! Charlotte! I haven’t seen you two in ages! How are you? Good? Good! I was worried you two had forgotten about poor little me, left me here alone in this dark lonely alley to be carried away by the rats. Not that we have any of course.” A small girl, with dark brown hair tied into a bun and chocolate brown eyes came scampering over to their table, wearing a light blue frock and a white apron. She couldn’t have been any older than Chloe, but the way she carried a platter in one hand, a jug of water and two glasses balanced perfectly as she placed them down infront of them indicated that she was either the waitress or the owners daughter.

In stark contrast to the girls cheerful greeting Trent had slammed his hand over his forehead, covering his head and shaking it slowly in regret. He hadn’t thought that far ahead, and brought Chloe to one of the few people who knew about him and his now ex-girlfriend.

“Don’t give me that young man! You better have a good excuse for not contributing to my sales, it’s been pretty quiet lately and I’d hate to close shop because a few good friends couldn’t be assed to pop in and say hello.” With her hands place over her hips, she actually looked cute instead of angry as she pouted at the man, slapping him lightly over the head before turning to Chloe. The waitresses eyes immediately clouding with confusion. “Hmm? Charlotte?” she asked, tipping her head to the side and frowning, “You look younger, new makeup? Shorter too now that I think about it.” She stated, tipping her head side to side and trying to look at Chloe at a different angle. “Ah forget it, must be my age, alzheimers kicking in or something” she chuckled, filling both glasses and placing one infront of Chloe.

Trent continued to remain silent, one hand still covering half his face as he continued to stare at the entrance longingly, deeply regretting his choice to bring Chloe here. He hadn’t explained to Chloe that he’d had girlfriend, and he felt somewhat guilty for having dated, much less slept with a girl besides Chloe. Biting his lip, he tried to think of a way out of his current predicament, but nothing would come, if the young brunette would do her job and leave then Trent could possibly make up some excuse to feed Chloe, but ushering her away now would make it look as if Trent had something to hide and he was afraid of losing what little trust he’d earned from Chloe so far.

Chloe turned her head at the sudden voice, noticing a small woman. No, actually there was no woman, just a girl of her age. However, that wasn't the problem here. Suddenly being called another name was the big surprise. The pair of blue eyes glanced now at Trent, as if to question why did the waitress call her Charlotte. Then, of course, she saw him suddenly looking as if the young brunette had just lowered his spirits. Then, she finally figured it out and returned her attention to the waitress, thinking that she would soon realize she was not the person she called out. However, that never came. Instead, the young woman seemed to still confuse her for this 'Charlotte'. His ex-girlfriend looked so similar to her? Now she was questioning some things inside her head.

The big question was... was he looking at her as a replacement for his ex-girlfriend, or... was the ex-girlfriend chosen because she resembled her? No, even if he seemed to have wanted to have his way with her the previous night, that didn't mean he actually had feelings for her. It couldn't be. He hadn't seen her in years, there was no way he could have had feelings like that for so long. Thus, it could only mean he wanted to keep her because she was the mirror of this woman named Charlotte? It somehow made her disappointed. Because if that was the case, the fact that he didn't want to recognize her as his sister would make more sense. She lightly shook her head to herself. She wasn't even supposed to be sorry for this. In fact she was supposed to be glad that he didn't love his sister, something which was a taboo anyway. Yet, she couldn't help but feel awfully sorry. Especially if that meant she was just used.

Once she shut the voice in her mind she smiled, surprisingly, as if nothing happened. "Actually, I'm not Charlotte. My name's Chloe. It's nice to meet you anyway." she finally spoke to the other brunette. "Well, I was just joking about the girlfriends, but it seems I have guessed right." she added with a chuckle, before she averted her eyes from Trent to the waitress again. "Do I resemble her so much?" she questioned with a slight smile, making it sound as if she asked it out of curiosity and nothing more.

Too embarrassed and ashamed to actually look Chloe in the eye, Trent continued to pretend as if he hadn’t heard anything, staring in the opposite direction with intense interest, he didn’t want to explain anything about Charlotte to Chloe. And he was hoping Chloe would remain clueless as to who Charlotte actually was but unfortunately it was hard to hope for something when it was so damn obvious. When Chloe finally addressed him he did glance in her direction, and visibly flinched when she saw her smiling. Her tone of voice dangerously neutral, it was quite clear by her tone of voice and expression that she was trying to ignore some sort of emotion, but Trent didn’t think in his wildest dreams that it’d be jealousy or disappointment. The only emotion he could imagine her feeling was disgust. After all, who’d be interested in a guy who’d slept around a lot?

The waitress on the other hand let out a soft “Ah” before clapping her hands together excitedly. “Ah I’m sorry, no wonder you look different, new girlfriend huh? You sly devil” she laughed nudging Trent with her elbow. “You see, this idiot only dates girls with black hair and blue eyes, it gets hard to keep track of which girl was which after a while, something about his first crush having those traits, Actually…” she paused frowning once more and raising her hand to her chin, stroking an imaginary beard. “Now that I think about it wasn’t her name Chlo-“

Trent suddenly jumped out of his seat, leaping at the woman and swiftly spinning behind her before covering her mouth with his hand, while his other hand snaked around her neck, if someone were to walk in at that moment they would have been completely convinced that Trent was trying to rob the store. “Sorry Chloe, Elissa wants me to help her with something in the kitchen” he lied, dragging the small girl after him towards the kitchen, leaving Chloe to sit alone at the table. Trent knew he shouldn’t have acted so rashly, but he couldn’t just sit there and let Elissa the waitress blab his secret. He’d been tricked into spilling the beans one night when she’d snuck some alcohol into his drink. Trent himself didn’t know how much Elissa knew, in fact this was the first time he’d heard of Elissa knowing about his first ‘crush.’ If he’d know he would have ignored seeming suspicious and dragged Chloe out the moment he sensed the possibility of conflict. He could only hope now that Chloe was too daft or question her own ears.

((This can't get any better. XD))

New girlfriend. She awkwardly liked how the last word sounded, but wished she could ignore the other one. However, she soon had to be completely shocked at the waitress' words spilled out. From her point of view, this was one hell of a precious information. Leaving aside the fact that he had more than one girlfriend, she mentally repeated the description in her mind. Did Trent have any crush when they were kids? No, but she was always around him, if he had someone he would have liked, he would have probably told her, even if she was younger than him. Unless, the crush they were talking about was some classmate? Chloe found herself struggling to remain calm and avoid getting red from the excitement and the overwhelming happiness which surely wasn't supposed to be there. Was it wrong to suppose that she, herself, was his first crush? Maybe she was just self-conceited, but what other girl shared these traits and was close to him in his childhood?

By the time she was about to reveal the name of his crush, she was already waiting eagerly for the conclusion. She heard the 'Chlo-' and then she frowned at Trent as he interrupted her. Though, she didn't need to hear more to realize she was right. Unless the girl was coincidentally named the same as her. But there were very slim chances for such coincidences. Besides, why else would he stop the other brunette from spilling it out? "Fine..." she mumbled as he told her he would be helping Elissa in the kitchen, trying her best to look bored.

Once he was gone, though, she instantly turned red and showed a silly smile on her face, hands covering her cheeks. She still couldn't believe it. He had always thought about her? The little Chloe who always followed him around and pestered him? Then, the smile started to fade away. Even if she was happy about this, they were still siblings. They would never be able to be more than that. Nobody would accept such a relationship. And she wasn't even supposed to encourage this. If she was to be a good sister and think about his future, she should not go with the flow. Maybe... it was better if she stayed with her father after all? She bit down her lip and let her hands fall in her lap. This was wrong. She knew it very well, but she couldn't think of leaving him. Not yet at least.
