Allison aims at one of the rats and fires, twin booms echoing as she fires, pumps the gun, and fires again at two different rats.

(To hit 28 and 25 miss did my pluses on that, damage 16 and 20)

Allen and Volke hear the attack on Xavier, and all hear his, "Damn!' when he got bitten.
(Since it's silenced, no one heard his gun though.) Allison kills both rat NMCs she hit.

Allen growls a bit and shoots with deadly accuracy, getting close to Xavier to bludgeon and shoot the rats. (crit on the first with the stock, 20 damage becuase of weapon finesse, then I rolled a 15 on the other rat, 13 damage if it gets hit

Volke runs over and sees Xavier under attack. She moves to 10 feet away from X and fires on one rat.

(26 attack, 19 damage)

Allen smashes one of the rats against a rock, splattering brains. The other is torn apart by the bullet from the other end.

Volke's shot tears another apart, leaving one last rat NMC that runs away, heading east instead of south.
"That hurt." Xavier says, as he pops several of the blood pills. "We should continue towards the big one. We'll leave the rat and any like it for the cleanup and misinformation crew."

Allen nodded and turned his gun to three round burst.

Allison nods as she loads two shells into her gun, keeping its internal magazine of 6 fully stocked. While she could reload quickly if need be it was easier to just keep up outside of combat.

Volke follows, reloading and walking behind Allison and watching her left. (listen 20, spot 27)

 

[XavierZeherisHarper]

Xavier switched back to his grenade pistol, holstering his Falcon.
There is a small cave found 12 minutes later, the slime trail visibly going inside.

Allen moves to the front to scout better. (taking 10's, so 19 listen, hide, move silently, spot, and rolled a 14 on search)

The trail goes deeper in, and a vague shape can seen breathing about 300 ft in.

Volke switches weapons to her Dragunov. (She takes aim too, if she has time.)

"Fire?" he whispers quietly

Xavier shakes his head.
"Alice is rather emphatic about not using fire." Xavier responds.

"I mean my gun..."

Volke struggles not to face-palm.

Allison looks toward where Volke was aiming (spot 16)

 

[XavierZeherisHarper]

Xavier looks bemused for a moment.
"Well, I was thinking we should let Agent Artillery open up. Then we follow after. Plus we should stay near the entrance. The NMC is going to come rushing straight out, and I don't want to be run over."

He sighed and nodded. "fine.."

Volke filed the alias "Agent Artillery" away in her mind. Who knows if it was or would be a real codename sometime?

 

[Micbunny]

"Time for the big guns?" Allison asked as she shouldered her shotgun and unfastened the machine gun. She checked it over, locking the belt feeder in and making sure that nothing was jamming the spinning barrels. She aimed it around in front of her, making sure she had the feel of how it moved then smiled. "Say the word and I can fill that hall with lead."

"Fill it." Xavier said, after everybody was ready.

Volke pre-emptively decides to stand 60 ft behind Allison at all times. To get what she misses of course. Really.

Allen smiled as he awaited the lead to fly from the gun.
