Lund turns upon hearing the farmers voice. He nods slowly as he pauses for a moment abit of sweat running down his face despite the cold. "I dont want to hurt anyone sir. And I do realize if I were to remember and something happened between us it would hurt everyone." He swallows starting work on the feed of the animals as he thinks things over. "I dont know what Ive left behind or if anyones looking for me." He shakes his head again as he pauses.

The farmer sighed and came up to him and pat him on the back, "Look in your heart lad and tell me, when you think of marrying, not just my lass but anyone in general, does your heart tell you that it's the proper thing to do? Or does it tell you that it's wrong? Listen to only how your heart feels, not your head. Does the thought make your heart pain?"

Lund turns towards the farmer at the pat as he swallows softly. He runs his fingers through his hair. "It scared me when she mentioned marriage. Something about it just didnt feel right to be obvious." He sighs softly as he moves away beginning to feed the next animal in the line.

"A man like you, as fine look and strong as you are.... if you are not a wanted man, I have no doubt in my mind that someone out there has snatched you up already. Likely some pretty lass for with a face like yours, I'm sure you could have any lass you want." Patting him on the back, "I think that once the snow melts, you should set out and find where you come from. Staying here waiting for it to return to you will do you no good. Seeing things that might bring back your memories will do you better."

LUnd nods softly as he keeps working smiling as he leans in patting the animals neck. "I wouldnt even know what direction I should head. And Id like to stay here for now and work. I feel at peace working here for you on the farm." He takes a step back wiping at his forehead softly. "But if you think its best I will leave when winter is over."

"The choice is ultimately yours lad," the farmer said as he started to walk away. "If you wish to stay, you may. I will not deny you a place here for I need a hard worker like you on my farm. But if you choose to leave, that river only runs in one direction. You had to have fallen into it somewhere up stream." With that, he farmer left him to think and work.

Lund pauses as he thinks about the farmers words. He smiles to himself as he starts to work once more finishing his chores pretty quickly. By the time he is done is night and he heads back towards the hut shivering as the tempature seems to have fallen. He slips into the house shaking his cloak out as he moves to get warm.

"Kiana!" Nessa cried out as she burst into her friend's room, a distressed look on her face as she shut the door behind her. "Kiana something terrible has happened."

She didn't want to hear what Nessa had to tell her then for she feared that the next words from the woman's mouth would be that Lund's body had at last been found. But the words that came from Nessa's mouth only struck fear even deeper into her bones. "Jak is alive. He's here at the gate. Demanding to be renamed the heir!"

Kiana's world went black right away as she fainted, Nessa, even though she was heavy with her own child, reaching out and catching her friend before she could hit the floor.

Lund turns down the idea of a meal at the moment wanting to have time to think. He slips into the small bed he is using as he stares at the ceiling. He tries to desperately think of what it is he is missing from his memories.

Jak stands outside the gates glaring up at Angus. "I demand these gates be opened. I am the rightful heir not my brother. Bring my father out here so I can speak with him." He smiles as he glances at the crowd that has gathered around the gate.

Angus looks down at him, not making any kind of response to him, instead remaining unmoved and seemingly unaffected by Jak's demands. His father can to look down at him from the gate. It was he that started the talking, "And what right do you truly think you have? You have killed your brother. Even if I wanted to name you heir again, you are guilty of murder."

"Guards!" Angus yelled out and from among the crowd at the gate sprang out his men he had trained well to take Jak into custody.

Jak growls as he glances up at his father then back at guards. "Father I had nothing to do with his death. Lund was trying to get my sword from me. I was lucky to have survived the fall myself." He tries to pull away from the guards swallowing heavily. "Who else are you going to name heir father. Im the only son you have left."

"Only son... perhaps but you forget I have daughters that can give me grandsons. And a daughter-in-law... already half was to delivering me another grandchild. It two could very well be a son. I would rather see your brother's child or one of your sister's sons take the title of heir before you." He glared down at his then, "And because you now know that, I know that none of them will ever be safe from your greed. I am your father and perhaps it is time I finally put you somewhere where your madness can hurt no one more. Angus..." he directed as he walked away.

"Take him down the the dungeons," Angus told the guards that held him then as he followed after Lund's father, "You know that he has made allies. They will not stand for his imprisonment forever."

"I know that, but I don't need forever. I just need long enough for a spare son to be bore to one of my girls or for Kiana's child to be born a son. Then I have the right to take care of him from truly threatening anyone in this family ever again."

Jak struggles against the guards trying to pull away from him. "Father I deserve to be the heir and you know it. Lund never would have had the stomach to lead these people. " He continues his yelling even as he is taken to the dungeon below.

Lund suddenly awakens having had a vivid dream of a red haired woman. He takes a few deep breathes standing. He slips his cloak on heading outside to let the night air clear his head shaking not from the cold but dream.

Kiana sat in her room, worry over taking her as Nessa sat beside her trying to calm her friend, "Kiana, you need to calm down. It's not good for he baby."

"Jak becoming heir once again is not any good for the baby either," she countered. But feeling the baby kick unhappily inside her made her realize her agitation was indeed upsetting her innocent child. She gently stroked her belly and took deep breathes. When the door at last opened, she thought it would be Angus but it was in fact her father-in-law.

Nessa and she both started to rise to show him respect but his hand raised up to urge them to remain, "You are both with child, stay seated. I came because I wanted to speak with you directly Kiana. I am sure you have heard already that Jak is here. I want to assure you Kiana, he will not harm you or the baby. I will make sure of it."

Lund continues to stand outside in the cold as he begins pacing. He replays the dream in his head but the Romans name eludes him as he gets more frustrated. He moves to the large wood pile starting to chop furiously.

Angus makes sure that Jak is secured in his cell before passing orders to have the guard doubled. Once the order is given he turns heading off to find Nessa. He finds her pausing outside the door to listen to Lunds father a moment before entering. "Jak is secured and I ordered a double guard on his cell."

"Good," said Lund's father as he headed for the door, pausing a moment the bow a moment in respect to the ladies before he turned again and left. Angus closed the door behind him and went to the ladies.

Kiana did not even bother to try and hide her worry, "What is he not telling me that you will?"

Angus sighed, "The lord banks on a son being bore to one of you. There needs to be a son that can carry on. It there is not and the lord passes away, Jak will have every right to the title, even if he has been disowned. With no other male heirs left, he truly is the only heir, even thought he will likely sit in a cell until the day ever comes he truly can claim it."

"Can't sleep Bear?" A little voice came as Maddie appeared, her cloak wrapped around her shoulders and holding it tightly closed. "Or just trying to get an early start on tomorrow's chores?"

Lund jumps slightly hearing the little voice coming from behind him. He turns to face Maddie smiling as he holds the axe on his shoulder smiling. "I.. had a dream of some kind. Couldnt shake the idea that it should mean something to me." He places another piece of wood bringing the axe down into it quickly. "You enjoy calling me Bear dont you?"

Jak sits in his cell for a few moments before getting up and pacing slowly. "Once I get out of this cell you guards will be punished for holding me in here." He slams his fist against the cell down as keeps pacing. "I demand to see my father."

She smiles a little as she moves to sit upon a log near to his side, "Well I don't know what else to call you. It is kind of exciting to know that the only name you have right now I gave to you." Her face grows a little more serious then, "What kind of dream was it? Why does it bother you so?"

---

It took awhile, but at last his father arrived to see him within his cell, "You wanted to see me Jak? I can't see what you could possibly say to sway me in your favor."

Lund smiles as he keeps cutting slowly down now. He turns to look at Maddie as he stacks another piece of wood on the cutting block thinking. "It was a woman with hair like fire. I dont know who she is or why Im dreaming about her." he sighs softly as he drops the ax through another log.

Jak grips the bars of his cell watching his father. "You cant keep me here father. I didnt kill my brother. I was lucky to have survived that fall."

Maddie blushed a little and knew apart of her wanted to leave it at that. Not to bring up her memories could make him stay with her, but she could not do that for her. "Who do you think she is? Someone you knew before you lost your memory?"

"It your fault that your brother went over the cliff. Even if he had not gone over, you meant his blood to be spilled upon the ground and Kiana's as well," he shook his head in unhappiness, "But seeing you, perhaps then your brother has somehow survived as well...."

Lund sighs softly as he cuts another log pausing as he thinks over her questions. "I..I dont know for sure. I feel like I should know something about her but when I try its just a blank spot there in my head." He growls like a bear as he drives the ax down again.

Jak shakes his head as he looks at his father. "I was never going to harm Kiana father. I just wanted a chance to fight Lund for the spot of heir. I was the one you picked and groomed." He reaches out of the bars. "Please Father you have to let me out of here.

She laughs slightly, "See, I told you that Bear was a good name for you. You not only look like one but you sound like one as well. I am pretty good at names, aren't I?"

"You will forgive me if I don't believe you after you have already almost killed her one time. With you wanting the heir potition so very badly, the baby in her belly could be a threat to her. I will not even think about letting you out of there until after that babe is born."

Lund laughs softly as he buries the ax into the cutting log turning on her. "Yes you seem to be very good at naming people." He turns towards her as he moves over to her leaning in to touch her cheek softly. As his hand touches her cheek he looks into her eyes studying her face for a few moments.

Jak shakes the bars furiously. "You took what was mine from me father. You gave it to Lund because he went off to war and he came back with a woman. I deserve what he has." He growls softly as he turns away. "Ive made allies father. They wont let me sit here and rot."

She blushes a little and turns her face to smile at him a little shyly, "You can kiss me... if you want to. I won't say no."

"You are not the only one with allies and words of how you kidnapped your brother's pregnant wife, threatening her life and his... ultimately causing his death..." He shook his head, "You don't earn many allies like that Jak. You only loose ones not really true to you in the first place."

Lund hesitates as he sees her smile making his own lips curl up slightly. He hesitates once more before he leans in and presses his lips to her for a brief moment wanting to see how it makes him feel. Wanting to know if the woman in his dreams will appear in his mind.

Jak begins pacing slowly. "How was I supposed to know she was pregnant father. I didnt even scratch her. It was Lund who shoved her down the hill not me." He sighs as he moves back to the bars shaking them. "Father please dont let me rot away in this cell. Im still your son."
