Lund sighs softly as he rides his horse fast trying to cover the ground fast. "I thought things were done between us Angus. I didn't even fight her when she asked to set up a shop. Just asked her to take guards thinking it was enough. I was a fool. " He nudges his horse faster wanting to get there quickly as they top a hill the cliff coming into view.

Angus knew nothing he said could ease Lund's grief and anger at that moment and she he did not even try. He did however reach out at their horses slowed, nearing the end of the line of trees. It was there they could at last make out the sight that was there at the end of the cliff. Jak stood, waiting. Kiana knelt at his side, her hands bound in front of her and a gag over her mouth. His hand rested upon her head, stroking her hair almost like one might stroke a pet's fur. He smiled in triumph as he held a sword in his other hand.

Lund swallows at seeing the Sight before him. He whispers to angus without turning. "I'll ride up and seen Kiana back on my horse. Try to stay out of sight till she is safe." He nudges his horse forward gritting his teeth slowly. Once he reached the bottom he climbs off leading his horse upwards slowly.

Jak shifts his sword to place it against Kiana's neck, making her tense. "Stop where you are brother. Dismount. You walk the rest of the way or you watch your wives' blood slip from her pretty little neck. What a shame that would be when you are so very close to saving her."

Lund tenses seeing the sword press against Kianas neck. "Let her go brother. I'm here that's what you wanted. As soon as she rides out of sight we will finish this business between us." He leaves his horse where it is walking up the hill slowly his eyes on Kiana.

"I think not brother," Jak said, his sword still against Kiana's skin. "Your sword belt, take it over and leave it where it falls." Kiana started to shake her head in warning but Jak only grabbed her hair to stop her head from moving.

"Alright brother well do things your way." He carefully takes his sword belt off tossing it to the side slightly. "There my sword is off." He starts to walk up the hill again his hands raised to show he has thrown the sword off. He keeps his pace glancing at Kiana as he moves up the hill slowly.

Jak says nothing, letting his brother get closer and closer still, the sword never moving from there is lay against Kiana. When at last Lund was about 5 feet from where Jak stood with Kiana, "That's far enough for now. Well, isn't this such a cozy little meeting between family. Now, Lund, this is the part where you start telling me about how I'm suppose to let your wife go..."

Lund glances at Kiana then his brother Jak. "Its a trade. Me for her that's what your note said. Now let her go." He glances to Kiana offering her just a small smile. "Let her go brother and we'll have our fight that you want so badly. Just let her get on my horse and ride away."

Jak starts laughing as he grabs Kiana by the arm, yanking her up to her feet, "You are really quite stupid brother dear." Jak starts backing closer to the edge of the cliff, Kiana in tow, "You really think after all we have been through that I would be true to my word? You are not the only threat to what I want. How can I know for sure that your little wife doesn't already carry a son of yours in her belly? I figure... it would be better to make sure there is nothing in my way." Kiana tries to plant her feet firmly in the ground, "I do give you the choice of which one of you will go over the cliff into the river first thought."

Lund grits his teeth as he follows his brother towards the cliff edge. "What are you trying to prove with this brother. Your hurting no one but yourself." He glances towards the edge of the cliff ready to leap his body tensing. "Jak just let her go and you and I can end this." He scoots even closer as he tenses his fist.

"I'm helping myself Lund. Without you and with an heir, there will be no choice but for father to accept my back as his heir. There would be no one else but me and father is two stubborn to let the title and land leave the bloodline." By now, Jak was dangerously close the the edge. "You still have not answered my question. Who goes first?"

Lund grits his teeth as he watches her raising his hands. "Just let her go Jak. I'll go first but you have to let her go." He steps towards Kiana gritting his teeth even harder. Once he gets close enough he leaps grabbing Jaks sword arm pulling it away from Kiana. He uses his free arm to shove her away from them.

Kiana lands on the ground and can't recover before she is rolling down the hill side. It left her far from the danger, but now Lund was deep in battle with his brother. "Foolish move brother," Jask hissed as they struggled near the cliff edge, "Now I will make her suffer for your foolishness. You may now die knowing she will die in great pain." While they struggled, Kiana had at least come to a stop, a little dizzy as she tried to right herself. Angus and the two guards that had caught up with them close had hand. They raced to aid Lund and Kiana.

Lund continues to grapple with Jak trying to get the sword from him. "If I die brother it will be with the knowledge that my wife will be safe from you forever." He headbutts his brother forcing his brother back towards the edge of the cliff still scuffling. "I was going to give you a chance to come back Jak but you tried to harm my wife."

"You took from me what was to be mine!" Jak screamed in a rage, clearly no longer thinking rationally. "If I can't have my happiness, then neither will you..." He let at his brother.

Kiana only looked away for a moment, looking to see how close Angus was to reaching them. When she looked back, they were both gone. In agony and denial, she screamed into her gag and struggled to make her way up the hillside to where her husband had just been. She wouldn't believe it. She would never believe that her Lund was gone.

Lund has just a fleeting moment of realization before he falls over the cliff edge still struggling with his brother. He whispers Kianas name once before he plunges into the icy waters below. His head collides with a rock as the current takes hold of him quickly dragging his body from sight of anyone on the cliff edge. The blow has opened up a long cut his memories becoming foggy as he floats along limply.

Angus reaches her before she can reach the edge. Grasping her, her forces her to stop as he unties her hands. She removes the gag herself before she pushed herself from his grasp, rushing to the edge. Gazing over the edge, she could see nothing but the river below. That could be a good sign still, for their was no sign of bodies upon the river banks. When Angus reached it with her, he yelled for the other men, "They hit the water! Get down there both of you! Find them!" The men raced off as Angus put his hands on Kiana's shoulders. He could not offer her words of assurance. The fall likely killed the brothers and he could not get her hopes up for anything but that.

"This can't be happening..." she whispered, her voice hoarse with emotion. "I.... he has to be alright! I know he is! He just has to be Angus!" Her eyes filled with tears as he helped her pull back from edge, tugging her toward the horses. He had to get her away from here. Especially if it was a body that was to be found.

Lund feels himself waking up a few hours later having drifted a long way from his families lands. He coughs wincing in pain as he climbs out of water blood dripping from his chin. He spits out some water as he climbs on to the bank of river. He passes out once more his upper body out of the water breathing heavily.

The following morning, he was found by a farmer and his son. While they should have left him there and not bothered themselves with the burden of a stranger, but they were good people and took him back home where they tended his wounds and wait for him to awaken from his unsettling slumber.

Lund groans as the strangers pick him up. His clothes are caked with mud and he loooks very different from the lord he is. He sleeps for three days before waking groaning softly as he gouges his head. "Wh...where am I?" He starts looking around feeling dizzy as he stands.

The farmer's daughter was there, having been watching over him as she came and pushed him back down to the bed. She called over her shoulder, "Papa! He's awake!" she called before turning back to him and speaking softly, "You can't get up sir. Your badly hurt. My papa and brother found you along the riverbank. You've been out for three days."

Lund gasp as he lays back holding his head. "I. I gave to." He blinks as he tries to remember his mind blank swallowing softly. "Where am I girl?" He takes a moment to look around the hut. "My head feels like someones beating on it." He winces as he lays back swallowing heavily. "I. I don't know what's going on."

"You are in my family's humble home. I can't tell you more then that for we don't know anything more then that about you." She wet a cloth and rested it over his forehead. "Like I said, papa found you in the river. You looked like you had been beaten and bumped badly in the currents. We have no idea where you have come from. You are lucked papa found you or by now you would surely be dead."

Lund nods softly as he closes his eyes laying back on the bed. "I certainly feel like I've been beaten up. My head feels all dizzy as well." He sighs softly as he turns his head slowly taking in more of the hut. "I need to get up. I don't want to lay here all night." He starts to stand up slowly coughing.
