She can't help but smile as she sets herself more comfortably against his body, letting a relaxation come over her that would soon help her to slip into sleep. Everything in that moment felt so wonderful. Her life was content for the first time in what felt like forever. "I would be lying if I tried to say that it wasn't a thrill." Content. Gods above how she hoped it would last.

He smiles nodding softly as he wraps his arm around her in a protective gesture. "When we do have children love. I want them to be girls that take after you." He leans in kissing her head softly. "Do you think we can get a few hours of sleep before nessa unlocks our door for us." His hand grabs the blanket pulling it over them.

The thought of little girls running about the castle, all kinds of ages from little ones playing to a babe held in her arms, each of them a perfect blending between the two of them flashed through her mind and she could not help but smile. "Well, we will need at least one son for you... but the rest can be girls." She closed her eyes and nuzzled with him under the blanket, "Yes, we have awhile yet. Might even be able to sleep, wake up, go again, and nap before Nessa will unlock the door."

Lund laughs softly as he pulls her close giving her a gentle squeeze. "Alright I suppose we can do one son so I won't go insane." His finger begin to drift up and down her back as he squeezes her. "Though with all girls I'll have to keep my sword sharpened so I can drve the scoundrels off." He tilts her head up kissing her passionately.

"Mmmm," she moaned against his lips as she could picture their little girls more and more as her eyes got heavier and heavier. "Well, if they are going to be just like me, they will be good girls. It's ones that might have your personality that I fear will turn my hair white before it's time."

He laughs softly as he cradles her close leaning back to doze off himself. "Well I'm sure the girls who take after you will certainly turn my hair white." His eyes slip shut as he holds on to her squeezing her waist. "Hopefully we can find out soon." He begins to sleep deeply his body worn out from their activities.

The worst seemed to have indeed passed them by. Life became almost a paradise. No sign of dark clouds in their future. The cold of winter was soon upon them. By then both Nessa had set up her own shop in the village just beyond the walls of the castle and right next door was the small healing cottage that Kiana had set up for herself. She was growing popular among the people for her healing skills. Some saying she was even better then the late healer to have graced their lives. But even in time of peace, Lund still insisted that two guards be on hand around Kiana at all times. One remained in the cottage and one remained outside while she was working and then they would both walk her back home at the end of her day.

Most of Lunds time is taken up by Angus training him further and his fathers training on how to run the lands. Even with both of these activities Lund makes time for his wife taking her for rides when they werent both to exhausted to have alittle simple fun. Lund insist the guards on duty with his wife be the best Angus has wanting her to be safe with his brother running around there somewhere. Lund during this time also begins growing a slight beard that he keeps neat while trying to make himself appear older and more responsible.

As she prepared to head out for the day, Kiana took a moment to stop by her husband. She could not leave for her healing cottage without a kiss from her love to get her through the day. Her heavy cloak already on, she found him with Angus like always, working on making the men ready for the day they may be needed. Locking her arm with his, she smiled at him, "Pardon me Angus but I should like my usual morning kiss from my husband."

Angus simply smiled back and put his hand over his eyes, "Let me know when I may look once more."

Lund is just completing a circuit around the courtyard as he comes to stand next to Angus nodding softly. "They are coming along just fine I think Angus." He turns hearing Kiana's voice a smile lighting up his face. He turns to Kiana smiling as he hears her request. He rushes towards her scooping her up hugging her close. "I see you off to your healing cottage." He sets her down planting a soft loving kiss on her lips.

"Mmm, yes. With the winter knocking on our door I think I will be busy today with many wanting to learn how to care for themselves in small ways for the winter when they will be unable to leave the warmth of their homes to seek a healer. I fear I may be terribly tired by the time I see you again tonight." She could see her guards awaiting her out of the corner of her eye.

He nods as he keeps his arms around her waist pressing his forehead to hers. "Just keep yourself alright." He kisses her lips softly once more as he pulls her close. His lips move to her ear whispering softly. "I love you Kiana." He kisses her ear smiling as he steps back touching her cheek. "Ill make sure that dinner is ready for you when you arrive tonight."

She smiled and reached her hand up to brush it over his beard, "Don't let this get to unruly husband. I should not like it hiding your handsome face nor scratching my face when I kiss you." Turning she started towards her guards, pausing only a moment to look back at him, smile on her face, "And I love you as well." With that, she set off with the guards to her cottage.

---

Three hours later, a woman appeared at the gates of the castle, her son at her side, the poor lad looking a bit green. She was asking for the healer since there was not answer at the cottage when they went to seek her help not that long ago...

Lund laughs softly as she plays with his beard. "Dont worry dear I wont let it." He keeps his back turned on Angus watching her leave completely. A smile still on his face as he turns to pat Angus on the shoulder. "Its over my friend. Shes gone to attend to her healing today." He smiles softly glancing over his shoulder. "I hate seeing her go away but I know she wll be back.

Lund turns hearing a servant enter. He walks over to the man listening at his words his smile turning into a frown. "Angus we have a problem come with me please." He grabs his sword belt from the side as he heads for the gate commanding it open as he approaches the woman. "You told the servants you didnt get an answer at the cottage? Are you sure abit this?"

She woman nodded holding her sons hand, "Yes milord. I knocked and knocked be there was no answer. I attempted to look into the window but the curtains were drawn and shut tight..."

Lund refrains from letting out a curse as he nods. "Thank you. Ill check on things myself. While I do that let us find Nessa to check on your son." He turns passing on orders for Nessa to be found and his horse saddled. He glances back at Angus as he swallows softly. He moves towards him his voice dropping. "If something happened Angus..." His eyes drop trying not to let evil thoughts cloud his mind.

"Don't think that. It could be a simple mistake." Angus told him, trying to assure his friend. "Perhaps your wife has simply gone wandering off. She mentioned wanting to go herb hunting before the first harsh frost. She could have gone today. Let us go to the cottage and see for ourselves what this woman has told us."

Lund nods softly as he runs his hands through his hair. He turns hearing there horses being lead up. He orders the servant to take the boy and his mother inside giving them food and a room till Nessa can see them. He then climbs on to his horse giving Angus a moment to mount as well before he kicks his horse hard heading for the cottage Kiana uses.

As they reached the cottage, it was indeed just as the woman had said. The door was locked and the windows all shut, curtains drawn. Angus thought has a sinking feeling. "We need to see inside Lund.... I suggest we break down the door."

Lund makes a slow circle around the house checking the other windows. He slowly nods his own heart sinking at what they've seen. He draws his sword before glancing at Angus nodding to him. He draws in a deep breath before stepping up and driving his booted foot through the door. As he enters the room he yells for Kiana his sword held ready.

Kiana was not there, but there was some signs of trouble. And by signs of trouble, that meant the two bodies of her guards. They both lay upon the floor of the cottage, the lack of blood in the place showing that they had been killed somewhere else and brought here to the cottage to be laid out where they would be found. A note lay upon the table with Lund's name on it. It was a short and sweet note. 'A trade. Your life for your wives. Come alone to the Hampton cliff edge.' There was no signature but it was clear that his brother had sent the message and taken Kiana.

Lund sighs softly as he examines the guard before seein the note. He like it up studying it for a few moments. "Angus I need you to go back to the castle. Bring a buggy back for these men they deserve a decent burial." He crumples the note up tossing it back down on to the table. "I'm going after Kiana."

Lund shakes his head quickly. "I'm sorry Angus but I won't risk her life by marching up there with am army. It's my life he wants. If you want to ride with me to take her back then I'll allow it alright." He steps out to his horse mounting up. "Don't stop me Angus I'm begging you.

"I would never stop you. Just like you would never stop me is my Nessa was in danger." Angus took a moment to direct the men to return home, while whispering to two of them to follow after them by keep a wide distance. After that, he mounted his horse and rode at Lund's side into the unknown.
