"Mother and father have not said anything yet, except for those that know of it not to speak of it to anyone. Everyone still expects your wife to be on your arm when you go into that ballroom. Saying she is just sick in bed may indeed be for the best if and when asked about her." Lily sighed then and shook her head a little bit, "As for the Mallory girl, she seems very nice. Jak doesn't deserve her and well..." Lily bit her lip a little, "Her family brought a few attendants with them and as I watched one of them helping them from the carriage... well, I might be young still and never been in love, but the way he held onto her hand and the way she looked into his eyes and the way both didn't seem to want to let go.... I think she is not exactly happy about having to marry Jak."

He nods as they finally turn into the final stretch of the corridor before the ballroom. "Not all of us nobles get to buck our parents and marry for love. I do feel sorry for the girl with Jak. Has he at least appearred to meet her?" He slows their pace as they get closer to the door the announcer seeing them as he begins to ready to announce their entrance.

She shook her head, "Jak has not left his room since yesterday afternoon. He's locked himself in and will not come out." She shook her head a bit again, "Hopefully he remains in there through the night for I think he would emerge quite drunk and cause a scene perhaps." By then they reached the entrance to the ballroom and without further delay, they were announced. Of course, all heads turned with the mention of Lund's name. After a momentary delay, the crowd applauded him as he entered with his sister on his arm. It was appropriate to welcome him home from war after all.

Lund nods softly as his most diplomatic smile snaps into place as the crowd turns towards them. He gives the crowd a slight bow before stepping to the side letting his sister curtsey to them. His arm is offered once more to his sister as he leads the way down into the crowd swallowing as he begins to mingle.

He is not mingling for very long before he find another bouncy ball of energy, so much like Lily, came running up to him and tossed her arms around him. It was, of course his other sister, Meg. "Lund! At last I get to see you again! You look wonderful. Better then when I arrived yesterday. Do you even recall me coming into see you?" Before he could answer, Meg's train of thought changed again as she pulled her husband forward, "OH and this is Randulf! My husband! Randulf, my brother Lund." The man held out his hand to greet Lund though they had met long ago in the past. He was a fine man.

He lets out a soft laugh shaking his head as he can barely keep up with Meg. He follows after her into the crowd smiling warmly as he gets to meet her husband. His hand comes out giving them mans hand a gentle shake. "Its good to see you again after all this time. Have you figured out how to keep up with my sister yet?"

Randulf laughs back a little, smiling and shaking his head, "Not fully but I'm getting there. I've learned that if she is moving a little to fast for me, I have ways to get her to channel all that energy into other things that we can both understand and enjoy." Randulf was not the kind of man to say exactly what those things were, but the blush on Meg's cheeks made it a bit clear.

Suddenly, from across the room, there was a small bit of a commotion. Lily was the first to look over and see what it was, "Oh no..." she whispered as her arm tightened about Lund's. She was just trying to hold him in his place for Jak had come to the party and it appeared he was quite drunk.

He lets out a soft bit of laughter nodding softly. "She is a bundle of energy that can be hard to contain." He snags a glass of wine from a passing servant sipping on it softly. He glances around once before turning back to the couple. "Will the two of you be staying around for the wedding? Id enjoy it if both of my sisters were there."

Lund doesnt seem to hear the commotion not even looking towards it till Lily grasp his arm tightly. He glances down at Lily then towards the noise hearing his brother. His hand tightens on the glass in his hand before he forces himself to smile turning back to Lily. "Why dont we go meet the Mallory girl. Some of us might as well make her feel welcome."

Lily smiled, proud that he was holding himself back from what he clearly wanted to do. Go across the room and run his dear brother through. "Yes, let's. I'm sure right about how she feels rather sick about joining our family. A few friendly faces might make her feel better." Lily tugged him along, Meg and Randulf following behind. The whole group traveling away from where Jak was. Best to stay away from him as long as possible.

The Mallory girl was a simple yet pretty little thing with brown hair. She was young still and looked like a pure little innocent thing. Jak could crush her with his corruption easily.

Lund leads the small group over to the Mallory girl smiling as he bows first and politely. "Good evening Lady Mallory. I thought it would be nice to introduce ourselves. I am Lund and this is Lily my youngest sister. The other pair with us is my sister Meg and her husband Randulf." He continues to smile softly as he makes the introductions.

The girl sort of half smiled, "It's nice to meet you all. My name is Rebecca. It will be an honor to join your family." She spoke one thing but her eyes were sad and spoke of another. "My father told me that I was meant to wed you Sir Lund but you returned to your family already wed. I'm sorry things did not work out between us, but I am happy for you." She glanced about, "Where is your wife by the way?"

His smile dampens slightly seeing the look in her eyes. "It will be an honor to have you join our family Rebecca. And please just call me Lund. No need for the sir." He takes a sip from his wine wetting his throat slightly as he gives himself a moment. "Im afraid my wife is feeling sick tonight? She is sorely disappointed she cant be here tonight."

Rebecca smile a little, "I would have liked to meet her though, I suppose I will in time." Rebecca's eyes suddenly drifted and they filled with a look that only one in love could recognize. She was glancing across the room towards were her father stood, his steward by his side. That was the man she was looking at and was looking back at her. The connection was clear between them even from a distance but she quickly looked away to hide it.

"Where is my bride to be!?" came a loud booming voice. It was Jak, drawing attention again. His drunkenness making him even more annoying then usual. "Suppose I should get a good look at her hmm?" he asked to no one really in particular as he weaved his way through the crowd towards the group.

He follows her gaze quickly taking a sip at his wine to try and hide the fact he saw part of the look. "Well as soon as she feels better Ill bring her by to see you. Im sure you two will get along quite well." He smiles as he pats Lily's arm. "Lily perhaps you could show Rebecca your small flower garden tomorrow. It might ease the transition."

His eyes turn towards the loud voice of his brother swallowing softly. He gently hands his wine glass to Lily. "Hold this for a moment dear sister." He is quickly gone moving through the crowd before Lily can stop him. Despite what she might be thinking he approaches Jak quietly as he places a hand on his should smiling warmly despite the anger in his stomach. "Dear brother I believe your going to embaress the young lady if you keep yelling for her."

It seems to take Jak a moment to recognize his own brother even though he is looking right at him. A moment later, he almost seems to growl as he shoves Lund's hand away. "I told you before, dear brother. You worry about YOUR wife and I will do what ever the hell I like with mine!" Pushing past Lund, Jak weaves his way quickly toward where Randulf and Meg still stood with Rebecca. Lily had run off to find Angus. Jak stood looking Rebecca up and down then laughed slightly, "I suppose I could sleep with you without getting sick to my stomach." Rebecca's face went white and the sound of her father's outrage rang from across the room.

Lund rolls with the push letting himself take a couple of steps back. He sighs softly as he moves back through the crowd heading for his brother once more. "Brother you are drunk and need to sleep. Perhaps this isnt the best time for this." It seems Lund can for Kiana's sake hold his anger back as it burns in his eyes at his brothers obvious insult to Rebecaa.

Jak just doesn't seem to care much what Lund things as he goes on insulting poor Rebecca right to her face, "Course it's not like you'll be the only bit that I'll be sleeping with. Naw don't think just cause I'm marrying you means I'm giving up my usual bed partners." He looks to Lund, smiles, then looks to Rebecca and say to her, "Though truth be told, I'd much rather bed down with Lund her's pretty little wife over you any day. Even if she is upstairs dying and such."

Lund has to take a step back from his brother as anger burns through him once more at his brothers words. His fist tenses then uncurls as he moves to his brother once more. "Jak I think its time we stepped outside brother. Some fresh air to help clear our heads." He puts a hand on his brothers shoulder once more trying to turn him away from Rebecca.

Rebecca clearly looks upset. Before Lund could get Jak out of there, her father came plowing into the fray along with his steward that went to take a protective place near poor Rebecca. "See here! How DARE you talk to my daughter like that! What is no way to treat her be this an arranged marriage or not! You apologize to her!" This was a disaster. Soon Lund's father and mother were making their way into the middle of the disaster zone.

Lund glances over his shoulder as he looks for their help unable to defuse it thus far on his own. He steps up to Rebecca's father wrapping his arm around his shoulder. "Im afraid you will have to excuse my brother. His nervousness has made him abit tipsy as he drank to get up courage." He smiles warmly trying to remain polite and difuse the situation. His eyes glance towards Meg hoping for some help.

Meg shrugs, a little at a lose for how to help in any way shape or form here. Jak only seems to make the situation spiral more out of control as he once again brushes off Lund and points a harsh finger at Rebecca's father, yelling more now then anything else. "You want me to apologize?" His finger changed to pointing at Rebecca then, "To HER?" He laughed and then pointed to Lund, "Not until HE apologizes to ME for getting me stuck with HER!" His finger shifting back to Rebecca again.

"Jak!" Their father at last reaches the fray. "You are out of control! I have let you go on like this for far to long and now I see it has been a harsh mistake!" He looks to Rebecca's father. "Lord Mallory... I am afraid the marriage contract must be broken. For my ONLY son is already married." The room went still with shock. Was this honestly happening right there in front of everyone?! "Jak... I hearby disown you as my son and my heir. I have wasted my time trying to make you a good man in my image." He placed a hand on Lund's shoulder, "Lund shall follow in my place..."

Lund sighs softly as he tries to get his brother under control. He shakes his head softly as he tries to whisper to his brother to calm him. His eyes dart to Rebecca the apology for his brothers actions clearly in his eyes. He glances thankfully towards their father as he gets into the fray. His eyes go wide hearing the contract must be broken. He whirls gasping as his father disowns Jak and names him as heir. He quickly moves to his fathers side whispering. "Father are you sure about this? Jak is the one who you trained."

His father looks to him, seriousness in his eyes as he whispers to him back, "Don't think this choice is out of nowhere Lund. It has been on my mind ever since you returned. You have changed, for the better..." he looked up, shaking his head at the stunned Jak, "While your brother has changed for the worst. He's lazy. He's a drunk. He's violent. He's not the one I want to leave my family and my people in the hands of."

Jak was in shock, but slowly started to fill with rage as she was soon fumming, "You don't know what you have just done father! You will regret this! You will pay for it... I swear to it!" He looks to Lund then and snarls, "As will YOU!" He stormed through the crowd and out of the room.

He swallows softly but nods as he accepts his fathers decision knowing he wasnt one he made easily. His head turns towards his brother swallowing as he begins yelling once more. He glances at his sister nervously as he swears revenge and storms out. "Father I..I dont know what to say,but thank you." He glances around suddenly realizing Lily is missing. He moves to Meg. "You didnt happen to see where our sister went did you?"

Lund's father patted him on the shoulder, "We will talk more about this later. I have some feelings to fix as well as some explinations to make to guests..." His father went off to go about mending the damage that Jak had just caused.

Meanwhile, Meg, a tad bit shaken nods, "She said something about a man named Angus when she ran out of here a little while ago..."
