Kiana blushed a little and smiled slightly at his sweet little sign of affection.

Lund's mother say the gesture and turned to look at her husband a moment. It was a little thing she really did recognize as a sign of love. It was so very much like her and her husband when they were Lund and Kiana's age. His mother's hand sought out her husband's under the table and took it, squeezing it a little bit. Perhaps this really was love for Lund and not just an infatuation like she thought it could be when they first arrived.

Lund smiles at Kiana seeing the soft flush on her cheeks. He let's out a soft laugh as he continues to hold her hand.

Lunds father takes his wifes hand smiling as he continues to watch them remembering younger days with his own wife. Jak takes another deep drink as he watches them. His next comment is far worse as he mutters the word whore and kiana under his breathe.

Everyone clearly heard that time. Kiana's smile quickly faltered and her grip on Lund's hand tightened a moment before it loosened completely to the point where she really was not holding his hand, more he was holding hers. No one seemed to speak of what had just been said though as Lily tried to clang her fork against the plate a bit to make a distracting noise while Lund's mother shook her head slightly and looked to her husband. Something needed to be said and it was his place to say it or Lund likely would.

Lunds father clears his throat as he glances at his wife his own eyes abit wide. His jaw muscle tightens a few times before he starts to say something. "Look here j..."

Lund stands dropping Kianas hand as it moves to his sword cutting his father off. Angus had been there to stop him before but now his anger was burning through him. He slips around the table knocking his brothers close from his hand. The next hand was balled up and driving into his brothers face before the cup can clatter on te ground

"Lund no!" Kiana yelled out, a little to late to stop a fight from starting. She moves as quickly as she can to go after him. While everyone else was backing away from the fight, which was just started to pick up as Jak started to defend himself with his own fist, pulled back and ready to fly forward, Kiana went right into the fray to try and stop the fight. She was a little thing, but she reached her hands up to wrap around Lund's arm that held his sword, trying to keeping him from swinging it down, but placing herself in the middle of the fight at the same time. "Lund don't! He's your brother!"

Lund hesitates as he feels Kianas hands on his a moment after the first swing is taken. The hesitation seems to be all his brother needs as he punches Lund again then takes a dinner knife stabbing Lund deep in thr arm as he spins to keep Kiana safe from it

"Lund!" Kiana panics as she watches the knife go into his arm and she can think of nothing but if she didn't do something that knife would come down again and the next time it could be in a place far more deadly then the arm. Without thinking what she was doing, she moved and grabbed onto Jak's arm then, trying to hold his weapon fill hand as far from Lund as possible.

Lund grabs at his arm as it begins bleeding. The blood runs down his arm as his family begins moving around them lily and his mother screaming for them to stop. Lunds father begins moving to try and restrain Jak. Before anyone else can get to him Jak brings his arm down again stabbing kiana in the stomach. The knife doesn't go deep before their father is restraining Jak.

Kiana's face instantly went pale white like a ghost as the pain hit her. It was a terrible burning pain that was soon spreading from where the knife dug itself into her and just like a wild fire working it's way out into her every nerve until the pain just seemed to be everywhere. Very slowly, her whole body start to fill with shiver as she looked down, seeing her own blood, the knife still hanging out of her though Jak had let it go as his father pulled him back to hold him. One by one, the people around them realized what had happened. Yet even looking at it, the fact she had just been stabbed did not seem to be registering in her own mind. "L...Lund....?" her tone confused as she started to turn but stumbled and started to fall about half way.

Lund turns as his father pulls bam away from them. He doesnt realize she has been stabbed as he grabs her arm. He frowns seeing her face go white thinking she is worried about his arm but something else clicks as he spots the knife in her as she starts to stumble. He reaches for her helping to lay her down. He turns to lily and yells for her to get Nessa. "Kiana I'm here darling."

Lily goes running from the room at once, yelling Nessa's name from the start. Lund's mother yells for a nearby servant to summon the midwife who had been working at the healer for the keep the last few months. She didn't know enough about other things besides childbirth to be a full healer, but she had enough skills she might be able to help somewhat. It was Kiana that was the healer, but how could she heal herself when she was injured like this?

Her mind was swimming more then a little bit. She knew she had to think and think fast. She was the only one that could give orders on what was to be done now, but all she wanted was for Lund to hold her and tell her it was going to be alright. But it wouldn't be alright if she didn't help them. "I-In my, my things. The things I brought. The herbs. There... there's two plants. One in a paper wrapping. The other seeds in a... lit-little pouch. Get them..."

Lund seems to be calm on the outside as he holds Kiana close kissing her forehead. "It's going to be ok love I promise." He strokes her cheek swallowing softly as he looks into her eyes. He listens to her words turning to a servant he sends her off for the items Kiana requested. "Kiana I need to know should I pull the knife out or leave it.

Kiana was completely unfamiliar with wounds like this. Her village had been a peaceful one. She only knew how to tend similar wounds. She started to shake her head, her voice shaky, the shock starting to seep in but she attempted to hold it back and think clearly for awhile longer. "I... don't know..."

"I do!" came a voice. It was Angus who was being followed by Nessa as well as Lily who carried what looked like Nessa's sewing items. Seeing them, Kiana smiled slightly. Nessa knew what she'd have to do. That was good. Angus ran in, kneeling at Kiana's other side. "I've been a fighter long enough to know how to handle stab wounds..." Ripping her dress around the area, Angus looked over the wound as carefully as he could without hurting her. "It's not that deep, but it may still bleed. We must take it out but not without everything ready to treat it."

Kiana nodded a little. "The plants and the seeds. Crush them into a wet paste." She was starting to feel a bit light headed and felt herself slipping. She had to get the rest of the instructions out before it overtook her. "Once the knife is out, Nessa, you..." she trailed off a bit but Nessa quickly finished her thought, "I will stitch the wound shut yes?" Kiana nodded a bit, "Yes. The paste needs to be put on the wound before you stitch as well as after. Keep them as small and as tight as you can. Then... then wrap it." She started to slip further, her head resting against Lund as her eyes drooped near closing. "Change the wrappings, often. And..." she felt a shiver start and she couldn't make it stop as she hissed a little, "I love you Lund..." she told him. She knew she couldn't hold onto consciousness much longer and she may never wake from it. The words had to be said, just in case.

He swallows as he nervously holds Kiana tightly in his arms. He looks to Angus swallowing softly. "Please help me save her Angus." He looks down at Kiana as she begins whispering her instructions the maiden sent to their rooms returns with the herbs she asked for. His fingers stroke along Kiana's cheek softly as he leans in kissing her lips softly. "I love you Kiana." He continues to hold Kiana as he looks to Angus. "We have to hurry Angus."

Jak slips out of the room swallowing softly as he heads for his own rooms grabbing a new pitcher of wine. He slams his door shut locking it as he moves to collapse on his bed drinking heavily.

Kiana was only able to hold on until the moment that Angus finally put his hand on the knife to pull it out. Perhaps it was a blessing for the pain was what actually knocked her out at last. It was unbearable and sent her spinning right out if it, but not after one loud, agonizing scream of pain before she went limp. Angus instantly assured Lund she had not just died but that it was so the best for the pain was likely going to be something horrible.

The small party around Kiana worked to carry out her orders as best they could. Half way though Nessa's stitching, the midwife finally arrived only to let them know they were doing right so far. A few times, Kiana hissed and twinged in her unnatural sleep, but then stilled a few moments more. Both Angus and the midwife were quite positive. The wound was not at deep of wide as a truely fatal one would be. She had not lost much blood either. The true danger was in an infection or a fever. Only time could tell if those such things would be a problem.

When Kiana was closed up and the last bandages tied into place, "We should move her back to bed. She'll not rest well her on the floor and that is what she truly needs now," Nessa told him.

Lund watches over them holding Kiana close as he let's her rest. He swallows as he strokes her cheek letting Nessa work without saying anything. He smiles as she finishes working. "I'll carry her back to our room." He lifts Kiana softly as he begins carrying her through the castle to there room.

By the time they reached their room, Lily had sent people on ahead to turn down the bed as well as get one of her own soft night dresses for her, as well as water to finish cleaning her up. Once he arrived with her, Lily and Nessa helped him to remove what was left of another ruined dress and change her into the comfortable, soft, night dress. She seemed to be resting peacefully as he laid her at last to rest upon the bed.

Lund lays her on the bed swallowing as he steps back letting them change her without his interference. He swallows as he unbuttons his shirt swallowing softly as he winced feeling his own stab for the first time since Kiana had been injured. He glances down at his wound as he picks up his sword once more. "Nessa stay with Kiana." His voice is cold as is his eyes.

Nessa turns and sees the look in his face and the way he is holding his sword and knows she has to speak for Kiana while she was unable to. "Don't! What happened was an accident Lund. She was trying to stop you from killing your brother! How do you think she will feel waking to find you had done exactly what she got hurt trying to stop?"

Lund glances at Nessa his hand tightening on his sword hilt. "Jak tried to kill her Nessa it wasnt an accident." He growls softly but he has paused as he looks towards Kiana swallowing softly. "He ment to drive that blade into her Nessa. You didn't hear how he spoke to get."

Lily, hearing the conversation cut in, "That blade was meant for YOU Lund, not her and only because your blade was heading for him. He's a drunk now Lund, he says things without thinking. Does things without thinking. I think Nessa is right. You kill him and you will be jailed. Kiana needs you here by her side. Not rotting in a cell."

Lund tenses his jaw listening to his sister quietly. He glances towards Kianas still body grinding his teeth together. "If she dies sister then nothing you say or do will keep me from going after him." he lays his sword over the hearth as he sits down before the fire turned to watch kiana as she rest.

Lily was knew she couldn't as him for anything more then that and for now it would have to be enough.

Servants regularly brought cool water and fresh cloths for whomever was at Kiana's bedside to dab at her forehead with. They also brought food for them and for Kiana a light broth that they were able to slip down her throat in little bits. Time passed and soon his other sister arrived with her husband as well as guest after guest for the ball, but while the event was on most people's mind, everyone in Kiana's room only cared about her.

Towards the middle of the next day, just about 24 hours after her injury, Kiana started stirring in her bed, moaning a little as she started to seemingly be coming out of her long rest.

Lund sits in his chair refusing the food and rest sipping only at some water as he rest. The arrival of his other sister goes unnoticed by him as he continues to sit and wait by Kianas side. He stands very rarely to add logs to the fireplace. On these trips he moves to kneel next to Kiana taking her hand and kissing it softly.

He is almost sitting again when he hears the soft moan from kiana. He rushes to her side taking her hand gently. He whispers her name softy as his fingers brush a strand of her hair back from her face. He lifts her hand kissing it as he waits hoping her eyes will open.

"Mmm..." she more groans then moans as her head turns on the pillow. Ever so slowly, first one of her eyes slips open, as it checking her surroundings before it close only to open then along with the other. Her lips, which had all this time lay blank on her face in her slumber, curls up a little at the sides into the slightest hint of a smile. She doesn't say anything yet, just smiles.
