He smiles softly as he looks in to her eyes caressing her cheek softy. His smiles deepens seeing the beginnings of a smile on Kianas face. He leans in kissing her lips briefly stroking her cheek. "How do you feel darling?" He let's out a gentle laugh as he leans in closer pressing his forehead to hers. "I love you Kiana."

Letting her eyes shut again, she nuzzles her forehead softly yet with a gesture that was very simply affectionate against his. "I've felt better..." was her reply in a meek, somewhat hoarse voice. "But I've felt worse too so that's something, right?" Glancing around the room, she couldn't tell exactly how long she had been out of it. She glanced down at her stomach, "Did Nessa have any troubles mending me?"

He smiles softly as he nuzzles her Forehead. "Yes Nessa did a great job. Although we had to ruin another dress be ruined darling." He strokes her cheek softly as he begins to slip into the bed with her holding her close. "you've been out for a day at least."

She laughed ever so slightly, "Will I ever have a dress I can wear more then once without something horrible happening to it?" The laugh send a pain to her stomach where she was only just starting to heal and soon she hissed as the discomfort. "I guess there will be no dancing at the ball for me tonight..."

He smiles letting himself laugh at her joke while holding her close. "Youll just have to take it easy. I could ask my parents to push the ball back if you wanted." He swallows softly as he strokes her cheek fighting back a yawn as he dips his hand to take hers squeezing it.

She softly shakes her head, yawning upon seeing him yawn as well. "No, no. I must confess I never wanted to go to any old ball in the first place." She sighed a little, letting her eyes once more drift closed. She still had a lot of healing to do, and rest was what was best for that. "I would never have fit in at a ball."

He nods soflty as he kisses her forehead. "Rest then darling. I'll keep watch over you till you wake." He gently pulls a blanket over her holding her hand as be watches her close her eyes. His head lays close to her ear as he begins humming softly hoping to help her sleep and heal without waking.

"I should not be this tired..." she commented rather weakly on a sigh. "I've only just woken up." Her hand squeezed this a little, "I want to stay with you. I don't want to go back to sleep." She started slipping again, unable really to hold on to consciousness, "What if... I don't wake up again?"

"Your body needs rest darling. It." he blinks as she mentions not waking again. "Don't say that Kiana. Everything will be alright but your body needs time to heal itself." He squeezes her hand abit tighter the fear that he might lose her starting to burn a hole in his stomach as he presses his forehead to hers.

"It could..." she yawned again, slipping, "...could still happen." Unable to hang on much longer, she was able to force out just a few more, very important words that just like before needed to be said in case there was never another chance for the words, "I love you Lund." Any response from him fell upon sleeping ears.

Fear tightens his throat as he holds on to her tightly. "I love you Kiana." Even though she is asleep he feels the need to say it. His fingers brush her hair back kissing her cheek once more. He slips out of the bed making sure she is tucked in. After tossing a log on to the fire he begins pacing at the foot the bed keeping her in his sight.

A little while later, Lily comes to check on them both. She is dressed in a fine dress but came holding a tray with more broth and food for him as well. "I take it you won't come down to show your face? Father wanted me to try and talk you into just making an appearance at the ball to prove that you were indeed all in one piece after the fighting." Setting down the tray, Lily does to the bed and feels her head, "Anything?" she asked him, wanting of course to know is there had been any signs of life from her since she last checked in.

Lund stops his pacing as he looks towards Lily. He moves to the tray running his fingers trough his hair softly. "She woke for a few moments before she fell asleep again. She's worried she wont wake then she passed out." He glances toward Lily again looking disheveled and exhausted. "I don't know if I even have anything to wear to the ball sister."

Lily smiled warmly at him and went to him to smooth down his hair a bit, "You also don't look much like the nobleman. But I think if you run a comb through that hair of yours and toss on something that you have not been wearing for three days straight, you might just pass as one. If you smile that charming smile of yours you are so well known for." She smiled a little and then looked towards Kiana, "I know you'd likely not want to leave her, but Nessa said she really needs to change her wrappings and wash the wound area. She would be here with her. Just a little appearance for appearance sake? Meg is here as well. You didn't even seem to realize she had arrived earlier. She wants to see you and introduce to her her husband. She promised to stay around as well until you can formally introduce her to your wife as well.

A soft smile curls his lips up as she smooths his hair down. "I suppose that means Nessa is sitting outside waiting for you to convince me?" He sighs softly as he slips to his ward drove tugging out a fresh shirt. He slips his own shirt off as he glances at Kiana. "Can you find me a comb sister for this appearance you need." He yawns softly blinking as he hears Megs name. "I can't disappoint both of my sisters."

Lily smiles as she goes across the room to get him a comb, bringing it back to him and holding it out to him for his use. "You would not disappoint us either way, but you would make us happy to have you just for a little while." She smiled a little sheepishly then, "It's going to take a little getting use to have to share you now with your wife. I'll just have to learn to manage that disappointment." She gave a large exaggerated sigh, trying to keep the mood as light as she could.

He tugs his shirt down straightening before taking the comb. He smirks hearing his sisters words. He gently pushes her as she gives her sigh. He runs the comb through his hair getting it straight. "I think you will love Kiana like another sister lily." he glances back at her as he turns to get her approval for how he looks.

Lily give hims a bright smile, "Very nice indeed!" She did not mention how she thought he cleaned up much better then Jak could. Her other brother had been drowning himself in nothing but drink since yesterday afternoon and was refusing to make an appearance at the ball. It was part of the reason their parents had asked her to urge Lund into coming down. One of the two sons had to be seen and more and more it was becoming clear that Lund was the far more stable of the two, even if he was the younger.

By then, Nessa was done waiting in the hall and knocked lightly as she let herself in. Seeing him in a clear shirt and tamed hair, she smiled, "Good, you talked him into it. You need not worry Lund, I'll take great care of your wife while you are downstairs. Please eat something there. You have not eaten enough to keep yourself strong. You have a wound that needs to heal as well."

He smiles softly as he gives his sister a hug then hesitates. "I take it Jak is still draining the castle of it's liquor supply." He forces a smile as he gives lily a soft kiss on the forehead. He glances towards the door as Nessa comes in a laugh coming from him. " I figured you were waiting out there." He glances at Lily. "Will you give me a moment with Nessa?"

Once Lily is out of the room he moves to Nessa worry on hs face. "Please take care of her Nessa. She woke for a few moments and was worried that she won't wake. I.... I'm scared that she might be right."

Nessa pats Lund on the arm, "As long as we keep an eye on her she really is going to be just fine. Angus, the midwife, and I have been talking over the wound and it was not as bad as it looked. It only torn the first layer of her belly. Bloody yes, but it didn't touch anything that could not heal easily with time. She is taking her broth and resting peacefully. All signs look very good. She just must feel as week as a babe right now which would be why she feels so helpless still." Nessa gave him another smile, "I will take care of her, but I really think she will be fine with time."

He nods softly as he gives Nessa a quick hug. "Thank you Nessa. That takes alot off my mind." He moves to the bed sitting down and kissing Kiana on the lips softly. "Rest love. I'll be back in abit." He stands moving towards the door slipping out to join his sister. "I'm ready when you are Lily."

"We aren't you going to offer my your arm?" Lily asks, her hands on her hips as she looks at him, smile on her face, trying again to keep the mood light and relaxed for his sake.

Meanwhile, back inside the room, Nessa has dropped her happy face as she tends carefully to Kiana. She whispers to the sleeping friend who is so much really like her sister now, "Don't make me a liar Kiana. You had better pull through this or that husband of yours will never be able to take it."

Lund allows himself a gentle laugh as he offers his arm to Lily. Once she has taken it he begins escorting her off to the ball glancing back once at his rooms swallowing softly as he gets the last look. He then turns back forcing a smile softly. "So who all is in attendance tonight besides family?"

"The usual...." she ran down a list of names that would be common to him as the neighboring nobility they were aligned with as well as mentioning Meg's husband's family and slipping in the family of the girl that was to be his bride but would not be Jak's future wife as well. "It's a rather large crowd really, but then there is a lot to celebrate. Your return, your marriage..." she paused a little, "Jak's betrothal to the Mallory's youngest daughter. Now, people MAY ask about Kiana. Where she is and such. Not everyone knows what happened yesterday..."

He nods as he steers them along the long way to the ballroom needing alittle more time to compose himself. "What has mother and father said about last night? If I need to Ill say she is simply sick from her travel through the mountains. Most merchants get a cold after such a trip." He pats his sisters arm thankful for her company. "What is this Malloy girl like?"
