Jas clears his throat softly as he stops pulling her hoping his cloak keeps them hidden enough for the moment. "I only meant to keep us hidden from the guard that patrols the entrance love. I swear to you that I had nothing else planned but the kisses." He leans in and plants a softer kiss on her lips his fingers massaging her neck tenderly.

She shakes her head, "There you go... you're doing it again..." she whispers, pushing at him more firmly. "I said no Jas and yet you keep pushing me. You're intent my be just to kiss now but what about when to drag me deeper into the maze? Kiss me longer? Push my further..." Her face was no longer clouded with her mindless passion as she shook her head, "I don't want someone that pushes me when I tell them a clear no Jas and you keep pushing me to say yes. Let me go."

Hesitation covers his face for a moment before he shakes his head keeping his arm around her waist. "My only intent in taking you deeper was to keep us hidden. I swear to you that was all. As for the kiss I heard no protest when you began kissing me back." His hand does move from her neck to her cheek. "I refuse to hear your no because Im to damn stubborn to give up on us. I would never hurt you Lily, but I will not give you up easily."

"And what of the night you took my virginity?" she whispered, hurt from that night still clear in her voice. "I told you NO. I said NO. I said to stop..... why did you not. Why do you not respect me? How can you tell me you love me when you don't respect me and only push me into doing things I tell you I don't want to do. Like this. I tell you Jas I don't want to keep kissing you but you keep making me. I tell you I want you to let me go. Let. Me. Go."

He knew their first night together would come up, but did not expect the hurt he heard reflected in her voice. It causes his grip to loosen on her considerably as he swallows heavily. "Im sorry I pushed you Lily. It was a mistake and if I could I would undo that night and do it over once more." He lets his arm fall from her waist as he follows her command. "Is this how it is to be then. I go back to being a simple guard you could care less about unless he follows your commands my lady?"

She felt strangely relieved as he let her waist go, "I don't know. I... I didn't expect you to come back..." she confessed to him. "I don't know what happens between us now. All I know is that no matter what you think Jas, I do care about you. If I didn't I would yell for you to be captured now or would have many times before." She sighed, "And I will not be here much longer for you to be distracted by nor take my command. After I wed, we leave for his father's lands."

He swallows softly as he listens to her gritting his teeth together. Taking a step towards her his stubbornness showing through once more. "If you arent going to give me a chance to love you then you might as well cut my heart out right now." He reaches to his belt for his dagger tugging it free. "I dont know what I must do to prove Im sorry or how much I love you. I swear to you though I wont walk away from this."

Lily stepped swiftly away from him as she saw him pull out the dagger, shocked by this actions, "Are you mad! I just told you I don't want you hurt! Why are you not listening to me Jas? Put that away! You are not thinking sensibly!" She did not like the way this was going and with every passing second she was growing more and more frustrated.

The only response to her words are a smile that doesnt quite reach his eyes. "I want you to do it yourself my lady. If you dont love me it should be simple for you. You tell me to go away, but thats the last thing I intend to do unless I stop breathing." He holds the dagger out to her swallowing as he watches her face. With one hand he pushes his cloak back so she can clearly see where to hit him if she takes it up.

She shook her head again, feeling like a trapped mouse now as she started to back away, "I just told you that I still loved you Jas but now you are just frightening me! I don't want you hurt. Do my words not sink into your mind Jas!?" She turned to try and run this time, feeling the air between them growing tense. Instinct telling her to flee.

Letting the dagger fall from his hand he grabs her arm to keep her from running. "Dont go please Lily?" He drops to his knees still holding her arm, but his head turned downwards not looking up at her face. "Im begging you not to leave me my lady." He swallows softly as he lets his fingers fall away from her arm slowly.

Hearing the sounds of the guards, she knows now that time is short and that at any moment they would be upon them. They can't be found like this. Once again, Jas was going to cause a scene. "Run and hide Jas! PLEASE run and hide!" she whispers to him as she takes off across the space between the maze and the door, praying that the guards not find either one of them.

He stays on his knees as she begins to whisper to him frantically to run and hide. Swallowing nervously he watches her run for the door before lowering his head. He closes his eyes for a moment before retrieving his knife slipping it back on to his belt. Lost seems to be the first word to describe him as emotions war in him part of them wanting to listen to her the other part breaking apart further at the rejection Lily has at seeing him again.

Lily does not stop running. Does no turn back. Does not look back until she has raced her way back to her room, closing and locking the door behind her before pressing her back against it. All the emotions of the night suddenly wash over her as she brusts into tears and falls to the floor right there in front of the door.

Jas stands slowly just before the guard reaches where he might see him. He slips back into the shadows slowing his breathing for a few moments as the guard passes him. Stepping out of the shadows he looks up towards Lily's room whispering her name softly. Before the guard can return he has slipped out of the maze and returned to the inn to rest for the night and plan.

Lily cried there for a time before she was able to pick herself up and drag herself to at least her sofa to lay herself down and rest for the remainder of the night. That was where she was the following morning as the sun rose up, still in the clothing she had worn out to see Jas and her cloak still on as well.

Jas manages to catch a few hours of sleep before rising just before the sun. Having spent most of the night planning and thinking over what he has to do. Before most of the village has risen he is mounted and sitting on a hill watching the castle hoping Lily will come out to the village following her normal routine.

----
Gaisse rises smiling as he thinkgs of Lily remembering their conversation from last night. His servant brings him a fresh set of clothes out to go riding in after breakfast this morning. He keeps his smile plastered on as he sits down in his room waiting a few moments before heading towards the dining hall.

A pounding at her door wakes Lily the following morning, making her realize she had passed out upon her sofa. Quickly, she springs up and rushes to throw off her cloak and throw a robe over her clothing from the night before. Only then does she answer the door. There on the other side she finds her maid as well as a guard at her side, both looking rather upset with her. She was swift to apologize and lied that she had been up reading the night before, making her tired this morning. Sleeping heavy.

Soon thought she was washed and dressed and on her way down to the morning meal, rushing to not be a single moment late.

Gaisse pauses motioning his servant to wait as he watches the corner wondering if he has missed Lily already. He turns asking his servant to check the dining hall and return to him. Leaning against the wall he rubs his chin as he thinks over the conversation he shared with Lily. A smile spreading even further across his lips and eyes as he waits to either see Lily or his servant coming towards him in the hall.

A few moments pass before the servant returns, shaking his head, "She is not in the dining hall yet my l-" before the servant can finish, a speedy ball of dress and hair blurs past them heading into the direction of the dining hall in a hurry. "I think... that was your betrothed my lord..." the servant said.

Gaisse pushes himself off the wall as his servant comes back to him. "I see....' He turns as the ball of dress and hair go past him. He smiles as he quickly moves after her. "Lily... Is that you?" He moves quickly his legs pumping to keep up with her his smile never fading. "I was waiting for you before I headed down to breakfast."

Hearing his voice, Lily stops and turns, so suddenly that they pair almost collide with one another. "OH!" she said in surprise seeing him, that big smile on his face that made her feel even more guilty about the kisses that had been stolen by Jas the night before. Gaisse was such a good man. She was so undeserving of him. "Gaisse. I would have through you already at the morning meal... I am terribly late arriving."

Skidding to a stop as he almost collides causes him to laugh. "Im afraid Im running alittle late myself. I just reached the corner and I decided to to wait for your this morning." He offers his arm to her as he motions her to take it. "Allow me to escort you to breakfast this morning then since were both late." Smiling still he winks at her smiling still as he takes up his position on her left to easily protect her.

She gives him the best smile she can offer before accepting his arm and taking her place beside him. Being beside him... felt somewhat right. It definitely felt save and she felt protected by his form there. "Thank you. Hopefully now I will not look so terribly awful arriving so very late if you are arriving with me."
