As if on cue, Sarah yelled out to make herself known as she lay in her crib and Kiana had to smile, "She's right here with us. You don't remember. She held your hand while you were fevered." Kiana motioned for the maid to first bring her Kiana who she rested in her arms once again to face her towards Lund to see her. After that she asked the made to fetch the broth she had had them make ready for him. "You can eat, of course, thought it will only be broth until you are a bit stronger." Sarah reached her hands out towards him and grunted a little.

Lund smiles as he sees Sarah in Kianas arms. He reaches out to touch her hand shaking it softly. "Hello there little one. I think I do remember her holding my hand." He frowns slightly as he takes the bowl of broth. "Mmmm broth well it isn't a horse, but I can make do for now I think." He begins sipping at the broth laughing softly as Sarah reaches for him.

Sarah seemed to protest a little when he focused more on his bowl of broth then on her. Kiana smiled down at the baby and rocking her a little bit to try and ease her little baby rage. "Leave your father be Sarah and let him eat. He needs his strength." As if she seemed to understand, Sarah pouted and grunted once more.

"Give your father a couple of days to rest Sarah and I'll promise to hold you then." He smiles as he leans over to kiss her forehead. "She's going to be a handful when she can actually run around. Were never going to have a moments peace then." He quickly finishes the broth laughing softly as he let's out a soft whistle.

Sarah just kept on pouting... until Lund started to whistle. At once the baby's little face softened and she was like clay in her father's hands. Her little face filled with wonder and then all of a sudden, the corners of her little mouth curled upward until she was smiling her first smile.

He smiles letting out a soft laugh as he reaches his hand out to touch hers. "She loves my whistling and I don't quite understand why. It is a joy to see her smile though just look at her Kiana it's wonderful." While holding his daughters hand he let's out another whistle holding it longer this time as he watches her face his own lips curled up into a smile.

"She's smiling?!" Kiana said in shock, her eyes going wide as she moved herself to be able to see Sarah's face while Lund made his little whistles to her. Kiana's own face lit up with a smile as her eyes got a little watery, "Lund she's never smiled before. This is her first smile." It was a big moment in a family's life with a baby.

He smiles softly as he sets his now empty bowl down on the side of the bed. He reaches for Kiana's hand kissing it softly. "It's wonderful darling and she seems to have your smile I see." His hand brings Kiana's up as he kisses it softly. He delivers another whistle enjoying the smile that lights upon his daughters face. "Will you two be staying here tonight?"

Kiana's smile sunk a little bit though it was still warm with a hint of possible sadness still in it. "If you want us to, we'll stay. Earlier you didn't seem to want some of us around you." He was acting like he did not even recall what had put the rift between them the day before. He had the right still to know if he had forgotten.

He shrugs softly to himself as he leans in to kiss her lips softly. "Of course I want you around. How else are we going to be a family." He laughs softly before letting out another whistle for Sarah. "Do you think i could have some more broth. Im still feeling famished." His hand squeezes Kianas again as he settles back against the headboard.

He still did not bring up what had happened between them over his brother. It made her a bit uneasy even as she nodded over his request for more broth. "Very well but after you have another bowl you have to rest again. We will still be here but I don't think that Sarah will be sleeping anytime soon. I will need to sit up with her." She motioned for the maid near the door to fetch another bowl.

He nods as leans back resting peaceful as he watches Sarah whistling softly. He thanks the maid for the broth before dismissing her from the room ordering her to shut the door tightly. He sips the broth as she leaves before setting it down on his leg. He pulls out the folded up letter written by his brother. "I want you to toss this in the fire Kiana and we will not speak of it again after this night."

So, he did remember after all. Her face went pale and the smile faded off her face all together when though the smile remained on Sarah's little face as she looked up at her father. "I'm so sorry..." Kiana whispered sadly. "I was so worried about you. I should have just trusted in your ability but you were hurt and I...... I don't know what I was thinking. I was just foolish and stupid and..." she trailed off a little bit, not yet reaching up for the paper from his hand.

He takes her hand pushing the note into it softly. "It's all over now Kiana. Toss the paper into the fire and let us be on with our lives." He forces a soft kiss on to her hand then turns kissing Sarahs cheek playful little raspberry. "We have to focus on the future and all it's going to bring us." He leans back beginning to sip at the broth once more eating alittle slower this time around.

Holding the note in her hand it felt like it was burning her skin just holding onto the very proof of her sinful mistake. What kind of future could they have? Perhaps a good one but she could still carry a child now. It could be Jak's. How could she look at any child of hers never knowing and how could Lund accept it or her in that case. She did not bring up that idea before him but it already was festering inside of her. The guilt. Overwhelming already even as she tried to smile for him and keep hidden inside herself what she felt.

Gently setting Sarah down beside him on the bed, she rose up and crossed the room. The paper seemed to just burn so easily in the flames as she dropped in in and within seconds it was gone. Not the truth was just burned like a scar in her heart and on her very soul.

Lund lays his head back on the bed as he closes his eyes. "Things will get better now darling. You will see." He begins whistling softly as he lays there sleeping tugging at him slowly. "Do you have enough room on the bed Kiana or should I scoot over for you." He yawns softly as he stretches slowly lays back rubbing his face once more. "Im sorry I doubted you love. Youve always had my best interst in heart even with me being so hard headed." He laughs softly shaking his head.

Kiana comes up to the other side of the bed again, reaching out to pick Sarah up once again as she then walked around to bend down and kiss his lips softly. "There is plenty of room for when I finally come to bed. I will sit up with the baby for a bit," she told him before kissing him one more time. "Now rest please. You need to get your strength back."

He smiles as he returns the kiss touching her cheek softly. "I love you Kiana. Dont stay up to late with the baby." He opens his eyes to look into hers once ore happily. His eyes close as he shifts slightly as he begins to doze off slowly. He coughs once as he shifts again to make himself more comfortable. "I love you so much Kiana."

She smiled slightly, "I love you too." But when she moved away and her face was no longer in his sight, the smile faded. He could tell her a million times he loved her and that things were alright between them but in her heart it was going to take more then a few words to get her to feel good about herself again. Though... having him on the road to recovery once more did help a little bit as she say in the armchair by the fireplace, humming to the babe.

He is soon off to sleep his body naturally keeping off his wounded side as he sleeps. His sleeping seems to go deeper now that she is back in the room and he finds some comfort in her presence. He groans softly as he shifts slightly coughing in his sleep calling out for her name in his sleep as he pushes a cover from his body shifting.

By then, Kiana and rocked Sarah back to sleep once again and was sitting up on her own, looking into the flames until she heard him calling for her once more. She rose up and moved to climb into the bed beside him. She sat up with her back against the head board, resting her hand upon his arm to let him know she was still there and still near.

Her touch on his arm seems enough to calm him as he drifts back inti a deeper sleep. He sleeps the rest of the night away stirring only as the sun begins to pour through the window. His mouth opens letting out a soft groan as he begins to wake pushing himself into a sitting position. Lund turns his head smiling as he sees Kiana reaching out to touch her cheek softly.

She had fallen asleep eventually still sitting up against the headboard, not cuddled at his side or anything such as that. No. Just with her hand on his arm and her neck slumped forward. She was going to be sore from sleeping the night away like this. As he touched her cheek, she groaned a little and rolled her head to the other side. Her face twisting in a light discomfort from the feeling of tension in her neck and down her back.

Lund smiles softly as he brushes a strand of her hair back behind her ear. He gently shakes her keeping his voice low as he speaks to her. "Darling your necks going to be stiff try and lay back now." He caresses her cheek as he tries to urge her down while being gentle with her. His lips brush against hers smiling as he watched her face.

Kiana groaned once more and her body started to settle into the bedding. Just as her head hit the pillow though, a little relieved smile just touching her lips and a little sigh escaping her.... the wail of the baby rang through the air and that look of contentment washed away. With another groan, she opened her eyes to look at him and she shrugged as she moved to get up, "Your daughter had perfect timing..." she told him.
