He hesitates as he leans back against the bed nodding slowly. "For a time I didn't want to live Angus. I killed my own brother and I didn't regret it because of what I saw him doing to my wife. My father thinks Kiana reflects me, but she's venerable." He glances towards the door before leaning in slightly. "Do you think hes right Angus?" He swallows abit of fear and worry in his eyes as he watched.

Angus sighs a bit. "You wife may be a little bit but that does not mean you are as well, not does it mean that it's a bad thing for either of you. You are still alive are you not? That means part of you is strong inside you. You have a strong will to live as does your little wife the way she fought to keep you breathing."

Lund keeps glancing towards the door every few minutes his fingers drumming on the sheet. "I'm getting worried Angus. Perhaps we should go looking for her before it gets much later." He starts to scoot towards the edge of the bed once more holding his shoulder. "Little Sarah is going to be hungry soon." He makes it to the edge of th bed holding his shoulder still as he coughs.

"Don't go moving about. You'll get me in trouble with your wife if you go hurting yourself," Angus is reaching out to keep him in place when...

"Indeed you will get him in trouble and we wouldn't want that," said Kiana's voice as she came back into the room, heading straight to the baby in the crib who reached up toward her mother and gave a little grunt to acknowledge her want for her mother's milk.

Lund turns his head as he hears Kiana's voice. "Kiana where have you been? I was worried sick and was about to come looking for you." A soft smile spreads across his face as he hears the soft noises from their daughter. He pushes himself on to the bed leaning back slowly as he closes his eyes letting the silence longer in the room for a moment.

"You don't need to worry about me," her tone a little emotionally blank as she picked up Sarah and went to sit on the sofa. She looked to Angus as she started to unlace her shirt and smile, "I am not sure my husband will like you in the room during this."

Angus agreed and said his goodbyes to them both before departing and leaving them alone. Well accept for the maid still in the room as Kiana opened her shirt to start feeding the baby.

Lund grits his teeth as he watches her take Sarah moving to the couch to feed their daughter. He nods exchanging good byes with Angus. He slips to the edge of the bed stretching his feet as he gives himself a few moments to think. "Kiana we need to talk about a few things. Namely you disappearing instead of bringing Sarah back. I was worried about you especially after what happened with Jak." He swallows softly as he watches her. "I'm sorry I couldn't keep you safe from him."

"I was bringing her back," she told him, feeling like she could speak a bit more freely with him while she held the baby to her. He might not fight with her as long at the babe was there. As well as the maid was there for an audience. "I got all the way to the doorway when I heard you're parents where in here. I did not wish to disturb your time with them." She didn't tell him she had heard more then just their presence.

Lund glances at the maid for a moment. "You heard what my father and I were talking about didn't you?" He swallows reaching for a glass of water as he hesitates a few moments. "You cannot run off everytime you over hear a part of a conversation. This is part of what my father is worried about Kiana. You must learn to face things as a noblemans wife."

The fact that the first thing his mind went to was about how his father was right and how it felt like he was scolding her like a person would scold a child hurt her deep inside herself. Part of her had really hoped to hear him tell her that it didn't matter what his father said, he loved her for her, faults and all. Be he hadn't said that. "I'm sorry..." she said softly as she gently stroked her fingers over the baby's head. "I'll try to do better..."

Lund stares at her for a moment watching her stroke the baby's head. "Kiana please this is important. I love you so much, but there's alot for us both to learn to take over as the leaders of these lands. I'll talk with lily about giving you lessons to help bring you along. I was scared that during the talk with father he was going to say yes when the topic of ending our marriage was brought up."

The maid sitting and working on some needlepoint by the fire was clearly now listening into their conversation as she leaned a little more towards them.

"I meant what I said. I will try to do better..." she told him, the hurt still lingering in her voice even though she smiled a little down at the baby who was taking a slight break from feeding to look up at her mother and make little baby faces before returning to her meal.

"I'm partially to blame for this. I should have asked Angus to provide a guard for you. Then Jak never would have gotten his hands on you the other night. I'm afraid I'm the one who has failed you Kiana." He drops his glass to the table almost breaking it as he shakes his head. "You should be the one yelling at me."

This was not exactly the first conversation she wanted to be having with him after worrying over if he would live or die for a week and worrying over if he'd want her any longer if he ever found out about what she had gone. Her heart was breaking when he started blaming himself for this. She shook her head and knew that the conversation was turning to personal for an audience. Turning to the maid, she told the woman she was to leave.

As the door shut behind the maid, Kiana's attention turned to him again, "You are the last person I would ever blame for this. The yelling is directed in the proper place. All I can say in response though is... I'll try to do better."

He pauses a moment watching the maid leave. After she is gone his fist clench together tightly. "No this is none of your fault. All the blame lays on me in this case. I know how dangerous Jak was and I did nothing to keep you safe." On the last few words he slings the pitcher of water down shattering the clay. His fist tense up further as he watches her. "I don't deserve you Kiana. I swore to keep you safe and twice now I have broken my word to you."

The sound of the shattering pitcher causes Kiana to jump in her place. She had never seen him mad before. Not like this at least. The baby did not like it very much either as she detached herself from her mother's breast and started to wail loud and clear. Kiana went right to getting the baby to calm down. "Shhh. Shhhh Sarah it's alright... it's... it's alright," even as she was trying to be calm and soothing for the baby, tears started to softly roll down her cheeks. "No Lund... you're not to blame. Believe me. You are not. I was the one that the note was given to. I was the one that made the choice to try and...... make some deal with him. For you protection..." she was dancing around the truth.

Lund swallows as he starts trying to push himself to his feet. "No Kiana this isn't your fault. I shoulder the blame fully for this." He clenched his fist anger burning through him quickly. "Youve been the perfect wife. I've done nothing, but failed you as a husband. First in the mountains now her in our own home."

"You didn't fail me!" she yells out with tears rolling still down her flushed cheeks, jostling the baby and only disturbing her more. Kiana becomes distressed with herself as she turns her back on him to take the baby to the crib. She laid Sarah down and knelt by her side to rock her and hmm to her a few tense moments until her tears were finished. Even though the baby still looked unhappy, the conversation could not be delayed any longer.

Kissing Sarah on the forehead, Kiana stood and faced him. "I failed you..." she reaches into the pocket of her skirts and pulls out a paper. Still sealed with Jak's mark. "Jak gave this to your father. You father gave it to Angus. Angus gave it to me. Now I'm giving it to you. It's the deal I signed with your brother to spare your life it should come to it."

Lund settles back on the bed as she turns away to try and setterl Sarah down. "Is she alright? I wasn't trying to upset her." He rubs his forehead slightly only looking back up as she offers the sealed letter to him. He pauses for a moment before opening it slowly breaking seal. His eyes scan over the words widening the further down the page he gets. His hand begins to tremble worse as he reads over the letter for a second time. "He wasn't raping you Kiana. You were a willing participant."

She hung her head, "Willing only to make sure you were safe from him. You were hurt already and I could never bring myself to stand by and watch Jak use that against you," her voice was breaking up little by little through more tears. "I lost you once and I couldn't loose you again. Not when I still needed you. I changed my mind half way through, be he wouldn't let me go. I bit his tongue. He spit in my face. Slapped me. Started forcing me. I was afraid so I started to scream. I didn't know what else to do." By the end the tears were flowing fast and free. Her eyes red and puffy from the crying, "I'm sorry. This is my fault. And the worst part is that I did it all to save you and he still almost killed you."

Lund swallows as he pushes himself to his feet unable to look at Kiana fully. "I charged into that room thinking he wad killing you just to hurt me further. I was willing to take a hundred different wounds if it would keep you safe." He stumbles slightly as tries to move towards the door leaning against the wall. "I need some time to think."

Kiana watched him trying to go leaving the room and rushed to his side. She knew he likely did not want her help at the moment. He did not even want to look at her, but she was still his healer and he needed to heal, "Moving around will only make your wounds worse," she told him as she tried to wipe away the tears in her eyes. "You'll stay. I'll go..." she was about to leave when she remembered the baby. It was a dilemma. Take the baby or leave the baby? He wanted the baby near him, but he didn't want her near him... she looked torn.

Lund pauses as he looks at her his jaw clenching slightly. He glances back at the baby as he moves to sit on the bed. "Take her and go then if your going. Send a maid to me so i have someone to fetch what I need." He pushes himself back on the bed sitting against the headboard unable to fully look at her yet.

(Welcome back.)

Kiana lowered her gaze towards the ground and moved quickly to the baby as she passed him, she paused and gave him a curtsy. It was a movement more like a servant would give him then his own wife. Nervous and formal. "As you wish," she told him before crossing to the door. She paused in the opening then without ever turning she spoke sadly, "I didn't mean for things to happen like this. I did it because I could not bare Sarah to grow up without you. I could not rob her of that nor could I let Jak rob you of it." She once more left herself out of the equation, not sure he wanted her in it any longer as she disappeared out the door.

((Good to be back ^.^))

He sighs softly as he covers his face with his hands. He swallows slowly as he watches her leave the room. His voice catches as she bows formally to him as he feels abit of guilt, but it is overwhelmEd by anger. He turns away from her swallowing heavily. His mouth opens to say something but she is already gone. His mouth instead let's out a string of curses as he hurtles the glass against the wall.
