"Shhh," Kiana comes to his side again and eases his worry with her gentle touch. "You needed your rest. It was best for her to sleep in another room so her crying would not disturb you." She smiles a little weakly at him, "I promise I will bring her to see you after your parent's have come to talk with you. And yes you must stay in this bed. You got out of it once when you shouldn't have. I won't let you again."

He smiles as he leans back touching her hand softly. "Of course darling. Ill stay here where you want me to be." He takes a sip of water once more as he leans back closing his eyes to rest. "I dont think she could have disturbed me that much. It would have been nice to see her once I woke up." He takes her hand kissing it softly. "Love I dont want you to blame yourself for what happened. I know Jak was forcing himself on you. I just wish I had been faster."

Kiana felt the guilt inside her poking and tearing at her heart. Her lips started to part to tell him the truth but Angus's warning that the truth would kill him had her closing her lips and when the door opened a moment later, his parent's came spilling into the room. Lund's mother came to his side and hugged him. With the distraction, Kiana slipped her hand from his and moved into the back ground as his father came to the beside as well to see him. "I'll leave you to talk..." Kiana says before turning and leaving the room before they could stop her.

Lund takes yet another drink as he begins to feel alittle better. He feels Kiana's hand slip from his grip as he turns to hug his mother softly. His head turns towards his father swallowing softly as he watches his face. "Im sorry father. " He studies his fathers face before turning back to his mother hugging her once more. He breaks from the hug to take another drink of water trying to steady his shaking hands. "If you need to put me on trail Ill understand."

His father shook his head, "No, there were enough witnesses to the event to know that it was done not in malice but to protect the honor of your wife," he trailed off a bit before sighing. "Jak's allies were a bit vocal at first but when charges of treason were brought against them for attacking you as well and the plot of my own death which was soon to come was uncovered... their opinion's matter not now. No, now you are heir again and there is now that will say otherwise."

Lund nods softly as he runs his fingers through his hair. "I see. Then everything has seen itself out." He swallows again as he begins to edge to the bed slowly. "There are many other things that have to be taken care of though." He coughs softly as he holds his shoulder softly as he glances around room looking for Kiana. "Where is Kiana gone to?" He swallows as takes another drink from his glass shaking slightly.

Kiana was knocking at Angus's door before letting herself in to see the baby, a little smile crossing her face to see how Sarah was starting to acknowledge her more and her little arms reached towards her. Kiana came to her and reached out to pick her up into her arms before turning to Angus, "Lund is awake. I told him I would send you too him." She looked down to the baby in her arms, "Perhaps you could take Sarah into him?"

Lund glances around the room looking around slowly. He begins to frown slightly as he doesn't see Kiana anywhere. "What of Lily father. We must proceed forward now with that situation before it gets any further out of control." He eases himself to the edge of the bed studying his father and mothers face. "Also father I wanted to speak with you about Sarah."

His father sighed, "Things happen while you are sleeping. Lily has been dealt with while you were healing. We have been able to salvage the marriage contract made for her. She is betrothed now to the earl of Witson's second son. She was meant to wed the heir but the second eldest was the best she could get... now." He sighed, "He arrives within the next few days to finalize the marriage contact. And what of your child?"

Lund swallows softly as he reached to his glass sipping at it slowly as he pauses for a moment. "What of the man seen fleeing her rooms? Do you know who it was yet." He takes another drink giving himself a moment. "I've heard a few things father that you aren't being grandfatherly with Sarah. You barely acknowledge her or Kiana. I want to know why?"

His father shook his head, "Nay. She will not confess his name but has swore to me that she will marry the man I have chosen for her to save face. She claims the man has vanished to boot. She has given her word and even though she has done something like this, I still trust her word." When the topic though turned to the baby and Kiana, the mood grew more somber still. "You were not here Lund and Jak was on the verge of taking the right to the title back. We needed a son. When we didn't get one, I was far to busy making sure I could stop Jak from taking over to spend time with them. It was for their own protection I try and secure the safety of everyone here. You understand that."

Lund tries to push himself from the bed before falling back with a grunt. "I will take with Lily later to help her ease into her new role. As for Kiana and Sarah father I think now that things are going to settle down you should try to be a grandfather. Kiana isn't from our world father. She's from a world where a man shows emotion to his family no matter what's going on around him. I think she thinks you hate her."

"It's not that I... hate... your wife," his father started in a somewhat serious tone. "It's that well....... she's not what I had wanted for you. She's a sweet girl and all but has no connections. She's socially awkward. Not a refined lady. Just... she's common. It makes her vulnerable in social situations. A wife reflects the husband."

He blinks softly as he clenched his fist for a moment. He takes another deep drink as he tries to steady himself. "Are you trying to tell me that you think Kiana is a reflection of some weakness I have. W...what would you suggest I do father? End the marriage and marry a noble woman that wouldn't be awkward and have connections for us?"

The hesitation in his father spoke of a moment of consideration enough though he opened his mouth while shaking his head, "I'm not saying that Lund. You just asked if I hated her and I explained to you how I feel about her. Who knows, that could change in time. She might be taught. Well she'll have to be taught now that she is the wife of the heir..."

The door, which had been semi open swung open wider and a female form came in. It was not Kiana but one of the maids. In her arms was the baby whom she brought to the bedside with a smile, "Your wife asked me to bring your little girl in to you milord as I just passed her outside your doorway. She certainly seemed in a hurry to be off in the other direction."

Lund nods softly as he rubs his fingers through his hair. "I know she must learn. I intend to speak to lily about getting her prepared for her new role." his head turns as the door opens alittle further. He starts to smile recognizing Sarah, but frowning as the maid brings his daughter forward. He swallows as he glances towards the hallway. "Please find my wife and ask her to come to me. If she won't then come get me." He smiles glancing at his father. "Would you hold your granddaughter father Im not in any shape to hold her."

It seemed Lund and maid were not going to give his father a chance to protest as the baby wound up in his arms. He seemed a bit awkward holding the little babe in his arms. It made his wife smile a little to see the big, strong tough guy holding a baby like that. After a little while eventually his mother took Sarah from him and rocked her in her own arms.

Eventually the maid returned and bobbed a curtsy, "Forgive me my lord but have been unable to locate your wife. No one saw where she ran off to after I saw her. But she must be somewhere in the manor for the guards at the gate did not see her leave through them and I have told them to not allow her to if she tries but to bring her here to you."

Lund suppress his laughter at seeing his fathers uneasiness. "Just try to relax father. Let her get used to you fully." He refills his water glass as he smiles slowly as he turns to watch the door for a brief moment. His face lights up in a smile as his mother takes Sarah. "Try whistling mother, she seems to love it." He turns back to the maid as she reports in. "Alright thank you for bringing Sarah back. I'd like you to stay close till she does return. I can't lift Sarah."

The maid bobbed a curtsy and crossed the room to sit by the fire where the maids tended to while staying close yet gave the family still their space.

Meanwhile, Kiana had retreated to a place she had come across in the time Lund was away. A narrow staircase that led up to one of the high attics that no one ever used anymore. She sat in the stairwell and cried to herself. After Angus had talked her into returning with Sarah to Lund's side, she pulled herself together to do it. It was as she approached the room she heard the conversation from within. The things Lund's father said about why he didn't approve of her. Lund's question if he should end the marriage. She could not bare to hear more. She stopped the first maid she saw and passed the baby off to her. She could not bring the baby with her here to her place of retreat nor could she go into the room at that moment when she could hear one of her greatest fear spoken aloud.

Lund stays seated on the edge of the bed even with exhaustion tugging at him. His smile slowly faded into a frown as he glances toward the doorway once more. "Kiana should have been back by now. I'm getting worried about her father." he pushes himself up on to his very shakey legs. He coughs softly as he uses the edge of the bed to keep himself upright trying not to fall.

His father pushes him back down to the bed, "No, you will remain in bed. You mother and I need to be going anyway. Stay here and rest. We will went people looking for her. She can't have gone far and she will need to return for your child to feed soon. One thing I cannot deny of your Kiana is she is a dedicated mother to that baby." Lund's mother placed the baby back in the crib and gave her a little kiss as well as Lund a kiss on the cheek as well. The maid remained with orders to call for a guard should Lund attempt to leave his bed again.

As they were walking out the door, Angus came walking in to see his friend. Glancing around the room her crossed his arms, "And did you wife not come back here? I told her to get herself to your bedside. I see the baby but not her."

He sighs as his father pushes him down on to the bed once more. He smiles hugging his mother as he drains his glass of water. He lays his head back on the headboard smiling as he hears his friends voice. "I'm afraid I havent seen her since she left to get Sarah. She handed the baby to a maid and never returned to the room."

Angus sighed and pulled up a chair to sit beside the bed rather then on it with Lund, "I have not seen her since she took the baby to bring her to you. She must have changed her mind for some reason between here and there. Run off to her spot." Knowing that Lund would not understand that Angus went on, "Your wife has some place in the manor she retreats to when she needs to think or does not wish to be found. I noticed her running off it during the time while you were gone away. Before you ask, no I do not know where it is. She will return from it in her own time."

He sighs softly as he begins to adjust his seat on the bed. "I see well I'm sure she has her own reason for wanting to go to her spot. Angus have you had a chance to talk to her since I passed out. She seems different for some reason." He sighs glancing towards the door once more as he takes another sip from his glass of water. "I just can't put my finger on it my friend."

Angus was silent at first. "It was, you know... a traumatizing event and she had to sit wondering if you were going to live or die. It might be a good idea to just, help her through it. I would not got mentioning the event much though. Might bring up bad memories."
