Change The World

Sango's eyes widened a degree and her eye brows lifted. Now his scent would be all over her. No matter how many times she bathed. Did Kagome even know what he did? Sometimes there were things that happened in the 'heat of the moment'.

"Did she know that you marked her?" Miroku was right, it was serious. But Kagome needed to know. There different kinds of mating. Ther bonds of mating were extreme but normally both side had to agree on it. Because with mating, you were together for life. Your lives were bound to one another. Like two souls in one body. That's why some demons would search almost more than half their lives to find the perfect mate.

"Well...to be honest, she just thinks I bit her on the neck out of instinct." he mumbled and looked down at his feet. He was feeling ashamed of what he had done. Not making love with Kagome, but marking her. "She doesn't know what the bite means."

"Inuyasha, this is very serious," Miroku scolded. "She has a right to know what you've done. I'm sure if you were to explain it-"

"I'm not tellin her and neither are any of you!" he exclaimed to his friends. "She doesn't need to know what I've done. The less she knows about my kinds rituals, the better."

"Inuyasha, that is incredibly selfish." Miroku said, narrowing his eyes. "She has a right to know, and if you will not tell her-"

"Look, I'm not just telling you." he said, looking up at them with his own glare to match Mirokus. "I'm asking you. If she finds out that...well, we're basically together for life, it'll only make it harder on everyone involved when she..." he paused, not wanting to say it. "When she does leave. For good."

Sango didn't want to hear it. She knew the day when Kagomemcould leave was coming to an end, but she tried to block it out more and more everyday. But it was getting hard. Miroku was right. It was a little selfish for Inuyasha to have done it. Kagome would try to find any way to stay here. But sometimes the powers of the Shikon and the well were out of anyone's control.

"Inuyasha, because you bit her knowing that she may have to leave us forever, you will have to break your mating vowel. You both derege to be happy. Because your souls are bound, you both will never be able to love anyone else fully and try to move on if you don't." Because of her being a demon slayer, she had been taught about demons and how they acted, their rituals and their festivities. A little like how Sesshomaru had to attend a meeting once a year with other Lords from the three other lands.

They were right, he knew they were. He should have told Kagome about the mating ritual, he should have explained that by mating with him, she was his and vice versa. He was just...scared, and he said that aloud. "I'll tell her." he said with a nod of his head, very reluctantly. "Just not right now, when thing's get a little less...hectic, maybe."

"Inuyasha," Miroku scolded. He was glad Sango was here. She was able to add to the conversation and actually knew what she was talking about. "You will tell her, or me and Sango will force you to tell her, understand? It'd be better if she heard it from you, not someone else."

Speaking of someone else, Miroku did speak up and cross his arms again, his staff leaning against his shoulder, perhaps thinking the same thing Sango was in this situation. "What about Kikyo? What do you intend to do about that?"

Sango looked at Miroku. She didn't want to bring up Kikyo. There were too many times when she seen Kagome's sad gaze when the raven haired girl realized Kimyonwas around and Inuyasha was intent on seeing her. Making promises he intended to keep but empty sayings for the dead priestess. But she was curious as to what he was planning to do now.

She kept silent, but she nodded her head. If he chose to mate Kagome and then run to Kikyo, Katome would be more than heartbroken; she'd want to leave and never come back. And that would hurt everyone in the end. Not just Kagome, but pretty much everyone in the group.

"I'll deal with it when it comes around." he said, after a very long, very awkward silence. "I swear I will. Not sure what I'll do, but I'll do...something." he said with a nod.

Miroku stared at him for a moment and released a sigh of exasperation. "Inuyasha, truly you are a moron sometimes, but even I can tell your heart is in the right place. We will respect your wishes on the grounds that you tell Kagome of the predicament. Sooner rather than later. In any sense, congratulations to you both on finally getting your feelings out to one another."

Inuyasha rolled his eyes. Miroku decided to continue being a tease, and perhaps the lecher (His own blood, he blamed), and turned to Sango. "You know, my fair Sango, if even Kagome and Inuyasha can show their true feelings...' he grabbed her hands and smiled at her. "Then why do we not follow suit?"

Inuyasha watched and lifted up three fingers, counting down to when he would get smacked.

Sango's face went red instantly when Miroku turned to her. He tried to pull the same thing when they were in Kaguya's castle and Kagome kissed Inuyasha. Once Inuyasha hit 'one' without her knowing, she moved her hand and smacked him in the head with her Hiraikotsu. "Miroku! You lecher!"

She moved away from him in a huff. She was still a little angry and her face was still red. But she was away from prying hands and that was good enough for her.

Inuyasha smirked while Miroku sighed, rubbing the now throbbing lump that had grown on his head. "One of these days, my dear you shall not be so willing to push my affections for you away."

"Hmph. Well, I'm gonna go head back to Kagome." he said as he pushed himself off the wall. "At the earliest we'll be back by tonight. Remember you two, not a WORD to kagome, about what we did, or what I did, do you understand?"

"Understood, Inuyasha." He said, "Give our regards to Kagome>"

Sango nodded. She was good at keeping secrets, but Inuyasha had a time limit. If he didn't tell her soon, then she'd have to do something. She wouldn't tell her friend, but she would find a way. She was happy for them though. She just hoped that Kagome would accept Inuyasha...

Kagome had finished her bath and walked down the stairs. She wore a pair of jeans that Americans called 'skinny jeans'. She had slightly grown tired of always ruining her school uniforms, and plus it sometimes for her into trouble. Her shirt had a popular Japanese character on it called 'Hello Kitty'. She kept her hair down and she didn't wear any make-up. She never did. Yawning, she walked through the living room hearing Souta yell at the tv because he was playing his video game. She was a little sore from being with Inuyasha last night, but it wasn't too bad. Smelling breakfast, she realized that she didn't have dinner last night. She was starved.

As always, Inuyasha made his way into the windowsill, not needing to use such trivial things as "Doors". Besides, it was the best way to enter without anyone noticing, really. So, he stepped into her room, noticing that she was gone and had probably head downstairs, smelling the familiar scent of breakfast that people in this time era had. Before he stepped out to follow her back, Inuyasha stopped and inhaled deeply, her scent very prominent in the room right now. Savoring the scent, he quickly rushed downstairs, following the scent and knowing she'd be there.

"Hey."

Kagome turned around hearing the voice of Inuyasha behind her. He wasn't gone very long at all. "Oh, hey." She smiled, and walked into the kitchen. "I haven't even gone shopping yet. I was going to eat and then go while I have the chance. School is still going on and I don't want anyone from school asking me where I've been." tucking her hair behind her ears, she walked to the table and sat on her pillow on the floor. It was then she didn't her grandpa. "Good morning, Kagome, Inuyasha." Her mother said, putting pancakes on the table. "Morning mom. Where's grandpa?" Her mother paused and looked over at the empty seat. "He got a call earlier this morning, another shrine across town needed an artifact examined that they found. He won't be back until later."

With any luck, the old man wouldn't find another artifact that was capable of destroying the world, or causing a mass Slaughter. The Noh mask and Sounga were enough of a pain to deal with. He sighed a little bit and took a seat beside Kagome, leaning on his knee. "Warned Miroku and Sango we'd be gone for a while longer." he said to her as she began to eat. "Looks like they had things under control, so I guess I'm just going to stay here for the day." he gave a shrug.

She took a pancake and some scrambled eggs. "Well that's good." She turned her head and looked at him with a smile. "Since you're going to be here for the day, do you want to go shopping wih me?" Turning her attention to her food, she began to butter her pancake. "Souta," her mom called while she sat at the table. "Breakfast is ready, you better hurry up or you're goof to be late for school!" She looked at Inuyasha and her kind smile spread across her face. "Inuyasha, why don't you have some breakfast, dear."

Well, she did offer, and there was a strange emptiness in his stomach. So with a shrug, he uncerimoniously reached over and grabbed a pancake. Not bothering with a plate or utensils, he merely bit into it, chewing on it and testing the taste and consistency. "Mm," he spoke up suddenly as he continued to eat away at it. "Not bad. Tastes nice." he said to both of them.

Kagome shook her head. "You can put syrup on that."Her mother bit back a small chuckle and began to eat. Souta came in and plopped down in his seat. He looked up at Inuyasha and smirked. "Hey Inuyasha. Did you stay the night last night?" Kagome nearly choked on her scrambled eggs but down them with some white milk. Souta laughed at his sister and ate his pancake like Inuyasha was. His mother shook her head. "Now year your pancake right. And hurry up, you have 15 minutes and you'll have to leave."

Inuyasha wasn't able to answer, as he choked on his own piece of pancake and tries to keep his cheeks from lighting up. He would have answered, probably something stupid had their mother not come to the rescue unknowingly. Breathing out a quick sigh of relief and a silent thank you to both the gods and to her mother, he turned his attention back to Kagome.

"Shopping?" For some reason, he didn't exactly like the sound of "shopping". But, if it was for Kagome, and if he could even get a few minutes alone with her to explain the predicament, then..."Eh." he shrugged. "Sure." Another bite of the pancake.

Yep, this was going to be a fun adventure with Inuyasha. She could already tell.

Once breakfast was done, Souta ran around getting his things for school and Kagome went up to her room to make a list. She sat at her desk, pen in hand. "Let's see..." she thought, tapping the end of the pen against her chin. "We need Ramen, bandages and medical creams, I should probably look at tennis shoes since my school ones are going very bad.." she was mostly talking to herself. It did help her to think better and if Inuyasha thought of something they needed, that would be helpful too.

"More ramen." he said, almost immediately. She could never bring enough ramen back with her when she came back. It was almost insulting how long he'd gone without that stuff. He was in and out of listening to her as he merely laid down on her bed, his leg crossed over the other, arms lazily laid out behind his head as he looked up at the ceiling. For once, he was actually thinking of how to break the news to her, hence his very far and away expression. "Shippo'll probably be bugging you for some candy..."

Kagome smiled at the paper. If she didnt have to put so many other things in her bag, then she wouldn't mind packing more ramen. She'd really hate to leave out her school books when their ramen supply was enough. She'd try to pack some extra though. If anything, they could keep a small supply at Kaede's cabin for when they come back. As for Shippo, he was out of candy as well.

"I think I'll get him some Pocky, Pucca and some Konpeito. That'll last him for awhile. I'll grab some paper soap because I'm tired of carrying a bottle of soap to wash my hands with. It takes up too much space in my back. Sango and I need some more shampoo and stuff too..." She continued to write but after awhile, she realized he was being extremely quiet. Maybe he regretted last night? Pursing her lips, she turned around in the chair and looked at him. "What's wrong?"

He almost didn't catch her saying his name, barely hearing it above his own thoughts. he turned his head to look at her, his golden eyes swimming in confusion and concern. Well, he guessed he couldn't hold it off forever, and he did promise his friends he'd tell her. He just wished she wouldn't hate him for what he did, without her consent of marking her.

He grunted as he picked himself up, his hand reaching up and scratching the back of his head, taking a deep breath. "Look, Kagome..." he said, figuring now was as good a time as any. "About last night..."

She knew it! But she did promise herself that if it were tomhappen, she was glad to be with him for that one night. Her eyes slowly closed and she sat there in the chair infront of him. Her breathe was hitched and there was a slight burning in her eyes where tears threatened to form. But she wouldn't cry. She was happy for what happened. No matter if he was or wasn't. Shutting her eyes tight, she held her lips tight together, not wanting to speak. The knot in her throat kept her from doing so. If she did say something, she'd be afraid her voice would crack and her tears would flow. "Mmhmm?"

Why on earth did it sound and look like she was going to cry? He frowned a little bit and thought about it before he went on. "About...about the..."

A little scene involved him telling him they were mated. She was mad now because he didn't ask for her permission, that she didn't 'belong' to him no matter how much he told her, and that he pretty much ruined her life. Somehow. Then he was sat into the ground, and told she didn't want to see him anymore.

...He gulped heavily and thought better of it. For now. "It was......well, you know I'm not good with talking about my feelings." he wasn't, he thought emotions meant he was weak. At least in the other era. but here..."But...well..." he sighed. "I liked it. A lot. I hope...well, that we can do it again."

he sucked at talking sometimes.

She listened to what he had to say. That was it? He liked it and be didn't regret it. She opened her eyes and blinked a few times to get rid of the excess moisture. "I enjoyed it too," her voice came soon after. She turned in the chair, only grabbing her shopping list and got up. Stretching, she threw her hands into the air and stretched her arms out as well. Hopefully shopping with Inuyasha wouldn't be 'too' bad. Going over to the bed, she stood over him. "Now,"'she stated, looking at him. "Where did I put your hat..."

He wished he worded that better than he did, but it was better to not bring it up until it was absolutely needed. He jumped up to his feet and looked around for a brief moment. "Do I have to wear the hat?" he knew he needed to but he just wished he did.

"No." She stated. "You don't have to. But people would look at you funny, children will cry, and mother would be screaming for their life." She set her hands on her hips. "I don't think you want to make children cry." Tsking him, she looked around her room. Well, if he wasn't going to wear a hat, then they'd have to make due with something else. "You can wear a bandana. I don't think it's as roomy as a hat, but it'll atleast cover your ears." It was already hard enough he had odd colored eyes and out dated clothes. She didn't need for his ears to be the cherry on top. Just those two things alone were hard enough to deal with. He wasn't a burden, but people today didn't believe in real demons. Let alone ones that came from the past.
